Negative attitudes about and behaviours towards women with disability are harmful and give shape to an identity that is imposed by others. Our research sought to challenge these attitudes and behaviours through self-portraits, narratives and photovoice methodology. Six women with disability participated in our feminist photovoice project on identity, producing data that we interrogated through thematic analysis. Our findings indicate that remarks and actions directed at women with disability can be intrusive, judgmental and exclusionary. They also give shape to an identity defined or imposed by others. However, to (re)define the self and claim space, these six women engaged in the 'work of disability' by 1) articulating identity, 2) challenging expectations and disabling attitudes and 3) explaining disability. By countering pervasive and disabling attitudes with photographic self-portraits and accompanying stories, these six women of diverse shapes, sizes, and abilities artfully lead us on a pathway to a more inclusive society. In our study, six Australian women with physical disability photographed aspects of themselves, focusing on their strengths and issues affecting them. Their photographs inspired group discussions and video interviews, offering thought-provoking ideas of what it is like to be a woman with disability today in Australia. The women described their frequent experiences of being stereotyped and excluded through remarks, actions and the environment they negotiate every day. Through photographs, words, actions and thoughts they challenged stereotyping and negative attitudes to define who they are and how they want to be viewed. Often, they actively worked to educate others about disability to claim their rightful place in our communities. Integrating the liberal arts perspective in the study of international commerce allows students to examine the human side of doing business outside the U.S. and stimulates the imagination by exploring the contributions made to business practices by other cultures. This approach is one way to enrich the student learning experience and to make the class itself more interesting. Such integration also adds appeal to those students who want to take a business class but are nonbusiness majors or business students who may not take other international business courses. This article explores specific ways to add a liberal arts perspective to teaching international business law. The authors hope it will stimulate thinking about other ways to enrich business classes with the liberal arts and enable business students to be better learners, better leaders, and better citizens of the world. The article begins with a brief description of the nature of an undergraduate course in international business law. It then provides current examples of the interplay between cultures and trade regulation. Subsequently, it describes the pedagogical benefits of a historical perspective, and includes suggestions for using either a conceptual approach to illustrating historical continuity or an approach based on following the development of specific industries. In each area it provides examples of integration and raises questions appropriate for class discussion. The final section offers an illustration of how to use case studies in international business as an interactive learning technique. This method requires students to develop critical thinking skills and practice communication skills. (Contains 70 footnotes.)

In this paper, we present an exploration of arts-based knowledge translation through photography highlighting the lived experience of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a genetic disorder. It forms part of our larger photovoice research project that involved six female photographers with physical impairment. This group of women shared their personal experiences through photographic stories to challenge pervasive, limiting negative attitudes and assumptions that surround disability. In this paper, we focus on the data, analysis and discussion to one type of impairment, OI, and two photographers' work to present their: embodied expertise and knowledge of living with OI; self-portraits as contemporary disability identity, contributing to intersectionality in feminist and disability arenas; authentic voice as co-authors of this paper using Drew and Guillemin's interpretive engagement framework; original arts-based research insights currently absent in the meagre qualitative research on OI. By presenting, analysing and interpreting self-portraits of OI as valuable arts-based knowledge, we hope to provide readers with a better understanding of disability and femininity as a pathway to greater inclusion. We describe the epidemiology of COVID-19 at the start of Canada's epidemic from January 1 to March 12, 2020, before governments at all levels implemented aggressive community based public health measures. During this time, 153 laboratory-confirmed cases were reported in Canada. Due to delays inherent in the diagnosis and reporting process, these cases represented a small subset of the 1,360 confirmed cases subsequently reported, whose symptom onset occurred on or before March 12. More than half (57.8%) of these 1,360 cases had a history of international travel or were linked to a case that had travelled, most commonly from countries where few cases had been reported at that time. Community transmission, marked by cases that could not be traced back to another case, was first noted on February 20 and increased steadily thereafter. This descriptive analysis indicates that COVID-19 was spreading internationally and in Canada more broadly than was initially detected by surveillance systems from January to mid-March 2020. To limit the impact of future waves, an expanded surveillance system is now being implemented with multiple data streams to provide a more complete picture of the epidemic, including early signals of cases and clusters. Improved access to laboratory testing and expanded contact tracing are critical elements to detect and isolate cases early, including those with mild symptoms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

British Columbia and Ontario (Attorney General) v. Fraser. The decision of the Supreme Court was based on the Agriculture Employees Protection Act of Canada.

Business conduct is increasingly scrutinized under the lenses of enterprise sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and risk management. Enterprise sustainability requires managers to engage in management techniques that mitigate risks to the enterprise, in some cases by shifting risk to other parties. Some techniques shift risk in ways that erode the economic sustainability of the customer base and thereby threaten the sustainability of the enterprise. Enterprise sustainability should include minimizing the adverse impacts of business conduct on customers, particularly consumer customers. A business enterprise that aligns its business interests with its customer interests will more readily achieve a sustainable business model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
