FAMILY support , *LEARNING , *FAMILY roles , *BASIC education , *FAMILY counseling - Abstract
The role of the family is relevant in the learning processes, which is why family support is considered a decisive element to achieve satisfactory results from an academic point of view. Through the accompaniment of the family in the children's learning process, the activity carried out by the educational institution is reinforced and given meaning. For this reason, the objective of this research is to model a methodological guide for family orientation to promote the academic performance of tenth-year students of Basic General Education at the Alejandro Castro Benítez High School in the El Cambio parish. It was developed from a methodological or mixed approach, allowing the use of different research methods and techniques through three stages, which allowed an adequate development of all the planned aspects, facilitating greater organization and control of these, in an orderly manner. The initial diagnosis served as the basis to determine the actions for the proposal. The methodological guide developed contributed significantly to an increase in the number of ways used to improve the work of teachers with the family, the development of actions and the strengthening of the role of the family based on their support in the learning process. of the children. The consultation with the specialists allowed us to know positive criteria in relation to the level of applicability, effectiveness, relevance, objectivity and coherence of the methodological guide, demonstrating that it contributes to the solution of the problem posed for the research. In journalism, innovation can be achieved by integrating various factors of change. This article reports the results of an investigation carried out in 2020; the study sample comprised journalists who participated as social researchers in a longitudinal study focused on citizens' perceptions of the Mexican electoral process in 2018. Journalistic innovation was promoted by the development of a novel methodology that combined existing journalistic resources and the use of qualitative social research methodologies. This combination provided depth to the journalistic coverage, optimized reporting, editing, design, and publication processes, improved access to more complete and diverse information in real time, and enhanced the capabilities of journalists. The latter transformed, through differential behaviors, their way of thinking about and valuing the profession by reconceptualizing and re-evaluating journalistic practices in which they were involved, resulting in an improvement in journalistic quality. - Abstract
The benefits of masting (volatile, quasi-synchronous seed production at lagged intervals) include satiation of seed predators, but these benefits come with a cost to mutualist pollen and seed dispersers. If the evolution of masting represents a balance between these benefits and costs, we expect mast avoidance in species that are heavily reliant on mutualist dispersers. These effects play out in the context of variable climate and site fertility among species that vary widely in nutrient demand. Meta-analyses of published data have focused on variation at the population scale, thus omitting periodicity within trees and synchronicity between trees. From raw data on 12 million tree-years worldwide, we quantified three components of masting that have not previously been analysed together: (i) volatility, defined as the frequency-weighted year-to-year variation; (ii) periodicity, representing the lag between high-seed years; and (iii) synchronicity, indicating the tree-to-tree correlation. Results show that mast avoidance (low volatility and low synchronicity) by species dependent on mutualist dispersers explains more variation than any other effect. Nutrient-demanding species have low volatility, and species that are most common on nutrient-rich and warm/wet sites exhibit short periods. The prevalence of masting in cold/dry sites coincides with climatic conditions where dependence on vertebrate dispersers is less common than in the wet tropics. Mutualist dispersers neutralize the benefits of masting for predator satiation, further balancing the effects of climate, site fertility and nutrient demands.

- Abstract
Aim Our understanding of the mechanisms that maintain forest diversity under changing climate can benefit from knowledge about traits that are closely linked to fitness. We tested whether the link between traits and seed number and seed size is consistent with two hypotheses, termed the leaf economics spectrum and the plant size syndrome, or whether reproduction represents an independent dimension related to a seed size–seed number trade-off. Location Most of the data come from Europe, North and Central America and East Asia. A minority of the data come from South America, Africa and Australia. Time period 1960–2022. Major taxa studied Trees. Methods We gathered 12 million observations of the number of seeds produced in 784 tree species. We estimated the number of seeds produced by individual trees and scaled it up to the species level. Next, we used principal components analysis and generalized joint attribute modelling (GJAM) to map seed number and size on the tree traits spectrum. Results Incorporating seed size and number into trait analysis while controlling for environment and phylogeny with GJAM exposes relationships in trees that might otherwise remain hidden. Production of the large total biomass of seeds [product of seed number and seed size; hereafter, species seed productivity (SSP)] is associated with high leaf area, low foliar nitrogen, low specific leaf area (SLA) and dense wood. Production of high seed numbers is associated with small seeds produced by nutrient-demanding species with softwood, small leaves and high SLA. Trait covariation is consistent with opposing strategies: one fast-growing, early successional, with high dispersal, and the other slow-growing, stress-tolerant, that recruit in shaded conditions. Main conclusions Earth system models currently assume that reproductive allocation is indifferent among plant functional types. Easily measurable seed size is a strong predictor of the seed number and species seed productivity. The connectio

- Abstract
The relationships that control seed production in trees are fundamental to understanding the evolution of forest species and their capacity to recover from increasing losses to drought, fire, and harvest. A synthesis of fecundity data from 714 species worldwide allowed us to examine hypotheses that are central to quantifying reproduction, a foundation for assessing fitness in forest trees. Four major findings emerged. First, seed production is not constrained by a strict trade-off between seed size and numbers. Instead, seed numbers vary over ten orders of magnitude, with species that invest in large seeds producing more seeds than expected from the 1:1 trade-off. Second, gymnosperms have lower seed production than angiosperms, potentially due to their extra investments in protective woody cones. Third, nutrient-demanding species, indicated by high foliar phosphorus concentrations, have low seed production. Finally, sensitivity of individual species to soil fertility varies widely, limiting the response of community seed production to fertility gradients. In combination, these findings can inform models of forest response that need to incorporate reproductive potential.

- Abstract
Lack of tree fecundity data across climatic gradients precludes the analysis of how seed supply contributes to global variation in forest regeneration and biotic interactions responsible for biodiversity. A global synthesis of raw seedproduction data shows a 250-fold increase in seed abundance from cold-dry to warm-wet climates, driven primarily by a 100-fold increase in seed production for a given tree size. The modest (threefold) increase in forest productivity across the same climate gradient cannot explain the magnitudes of these trends. The increase in seeds per tree can arise from adaptive evolution driven by intense species interactions or from the direct effects of a warm, moist climate on tree fecundity. Either way, the massive differences in seed supply ramify through food webs potentially explaining a disproportionate role for species interactions in the wet tropics.

- Abstract

- Abstract
The 21st century and the globalization to which the world has been dragged into, has created a society that cannot exist without social networks, and that through it is confronted with a series of complexities, including advertising as a vital element for the transfer of value and products. With the advance of technology and the means of access to different products, social networks occupy an important place in the positioning of consumer objects. The article seeks to reflect on the challenge of globalization in the copywriting profession and how social networks have helped to maximize the complexity of the 21st century. For this, a bibliographic analysis of specialized sources on the subject was carried out, emphasizing mainly the use of the English language as a transmitting agent of culture and exogenous ideologies, the scandal of surveillance capitalism that bursts into the privacy of Internet users, and finally the phenomenon of social networks. It is concluded that the profession of the publicist is not only a technical and creative issue in favor of a brand but also encompasses an ethical responsibility in the face of abuses by companies that collect data without consent, implies an important role in the preservation of cultural values and should be taken into account with greater attention., O século XXI e a globalização para a qual o mundo foi arrastado, criou uma sociedade que não pode existir sem redes sociais, e que através dela é confrontada com uma série de complexidades, incluindo a publicidade como um elemento vital para a transferência de valor e produtos. - Abstract
The concept of resilience has evolved theoretically; in principle, it was considered as a capacity; then as a process, to respond to a series of situations that affect individuals according to a context and a historical reference; nowadays it is conceived as a hopeful proposal with intervention alternatives to contribute to the formation of subjects and communities capable of overcoming adversities, and even coming out stronger from them. In this Case study of qualitative approach, of non-experimental type and developed under the hermeneutic-critical method, the origin of the concept of resilience and its application in the educational field is understood, specifically in the context of three educational projects of the city of Medellín that serve vulnerable socio- educational groups: Caminos para la resiliencia, Familias fuertes y resilientes, and Ícaro. Then a critique is made of the concept around the ways in which these programs appropriate this, social as well as theoretical and disciplinary.

- Abstract
The main objective of this thesis is to contribute to the analysis of the process by which social identities change. For that purpose, this research focuses on studying the identity that has given cohesion to the Altos of Jalisco, a region in the west of Mexico whose inhabitants underwent a rapid process of social and economic transformation during 1994. This research design is based on the approach and methodology of the social mediation paradigm, and therefore its results can be compared to previous research contributions that also address the mediating function of identities. According to the national identity, Mexicans are mestizos. However, Mexico is home to several ethnic and regional identities that do not conform to this profile imposed by the federal government at the beginning of the 20th century. Specifically, there are creole communities whose existence was buried under the revolutionary ideology of modern Mexico. One such identity, the alteña (demonym for the Altos of Jalisco region) originated during the Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire (1520) and had remained largely unchanged until the late 20th century. During the late 20th century, this community embodied an exceptional opportunity for establishing four specific research objectives: first, describe which elements comprised it and its structure; second, identify the role of the creole community in relation to Mexico's identity map; third, analyze how social change affected the identification process of this social group; and fourth, provide new evidence to reinforce the validity of the mediating role paradigm fulfilled by social identities in terms of individual and collective representations...

- Abstract

How do the individuals from a particu-lar Mexican region see themselves and the rest of the inhabitants of the area? How are the perceptions about the group’s beliefs and their actions articu-lated? This article presents a model aimed at conceptualizing how social identity is structured. Based on a case study, the research focuses on the elements of identity, defined as units of significa-tion within a belief or statement. The paper also details the process of analysis through which it is possible to under-stand its articulation and organization. We do it by means of two Worlds and two Dimensions that conform the social identity, as well as three axes that shape it: Space, Time and the Relationship, this document analyzes the case of inhabi-tants of Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico, in order to provide a first tool that helps understand who the inhabitants of this region are, and what they are like, ac-cording to themselves.
