To identify the SPAD chlorophyll meter based nitrogen management strategy in wet direct seeded rice, a field experiment was conducted at Agriculture Research Farm, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India during Kharif 2018. The experiment was conducted in split plot design which consisted of three rice cultivars as main plot treatments: Sabour Ardhjal, Shushk Samrat & Shabhagi Dhan and four N management practices as sub-plot treatments: No N (control), Fixed time N management (FTNM), Real time N management (RTNM) and Adjustable dose of N management (ADNM). Results revealed that among the cultivars, the maximum grain yield was obtained in Shushk Samrat (3956 kg/ha) which was statistically at par with Shabhagi Dhan (3752 kg/ha) whereas lowest grain yield was obtained in Sabour Ardhjal (3213 kg/ha). Among the N management practices, highest grain yield (4177 kg/ha) was recorded in ADNM which was at par with grain yield of FTNM (4134 kg/ha). Maximum gross (Rs. 79,957 ha-1) and net (Rs. 48,681 ha-1), B: C ratio (1.56) were obtained in ADNM. So, higher yields as well as sustainability of ecosystems can be achieved by practicing ADNM in direct seeded rice.

We prove an extension of the Kato–Saito unramified class field theory for smooth projective schemes over a finite field to a class of normal projective schemes. As an application, we obtain Bloch’s formula for the Chow groups of$0$-cycles on such schemes. We identify the Chow group of$0$-cycles on a normal projective scheme over an algebraically closed field to the Suslin homology of its regular locus. Our final result is a Roitman torsion theorem for smooth quasiprojective schemes over algebraically closed fields. This completes the missingp-part in the torsion theorem of Spieß and Szamuely.

The present study has focused on the detailed dilatometric and electron microscopic analysis of the formation of austenite and its decomposition in two Cerium (Ce) modified steels containing 0.6 and 0.03 wt pct Ce. Despite a long incubation time, the austenite formation is very fast in the high-Ce steel (0.6 wt pct Ce) during heating. Whereas, the low-Ce steel (0.03 wt pct Ce) promotes early nucleation of austenite but shows a significant delay in the completion of the transformation. Similar trend has been observed for the decomposition of austenite during cooling; the low-Ce steel shows early start of transformation with a sluggish kinetics. The role of Ce on the overall transformation kinetics of austenite during the heating–cooling cycle has been investigated and discussed from thermodynamic viewpoint and nucleation probability. Engineering stress–strain curves have shown a better combination of strength and ductility in the low-Ce steel compared to the high-Ce one. Coarse and spherical Ce2O3 particles (average dia. ~ 4 µm) in grain interior along with the brittle and grain boundary elongated Ce-C/Ce-Fe intermetallic phases (length ~ 8 µm and width ~ 3 µm) are responsible for the lower strain hardening as well as an early failure of the high-Ce steel. Finally, the microstructure-tensile property correlation has been established using chemical composition and fractographic analysis.

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi at BAC, Research Farm Sabour to access the effect of precession nitrogen management and tillage practices on growth parameter of wheat. The experiment was carried two tillage practices (conventional tillage, CT and Zero tillage, ZT) in main-plots and six different nutrient management practices [viz.N1-Recommended dose of nutrients (150:60:40 kg NPK/ha, full P & K and ½ N at basal +1/2N in two splitting at 1st & 2nd irrigation- Top dressing after irrigation, N2-Recommended dose of nutrients (150:60:40kg NPK/ ha, full P & K and ½ N at basal +½ N in two splitting at 1st & 2nd irrigation-Top dressing before irrigation, N3-SSNM Based on Nutrient Expert (NE), N4-70% N of SSNM based on NE+ remaining N as guided by Green Seeker, N5 Nitrogen enriched plots (225:60:40Kg. NPK/ha.) and N6-SPAD based nutrient management, (75Kg. N as basal +25Kg. N as 1st top dress +25Kg. N at 42 SPAD reading) in sub plots with 3 replications. the conventional tillage recorded slightly higher grain yield than that of the zero tillage during both years of experimentation The maximum grain yield (45.5 and 49.4 q ha-1 in 1st year and 2nd year, respectively) was recorded from the plots received 70% N of SSNM based on nutrient expert system +remaining N guided by Green Seeker treatment and was significantly superior to the rest of the nutrient management practices.

High Altitude Versatile Armor is a concept, thought of to protect the soldiers fighting at Siachen, by providing better armor and insulation in a lightweight package. The Armor is a Epoxy reinforced Carbon Fiber Composite sandwiched between two layers of polymer infused aerogel. It is capable of stopping bullets up to a 0.338 Lapua Magnum and can be made to suit various needs on demand due to its malleability and light weight package. Aerogel is a low density material capable of high insulation due to Knudsen Effect. It is made by super critically drying the solvent out of alcogels, commonly silica alcogels. Despite having high insulation, it has low mechanical strength and fractures easily. The mechanical strength is improved by removal of silicon hydroxides and addition of Di Isocyanate, which forms carbamates and a polymeric reaction occurs, linking the secondary particles. To compensate for the loss in thermal insulating properties due to modification of structure, a thin lining of silica aerogel maybe added. The Carbon fibre forms the heart of the armor which catches all the shrapnel of the bullet after it impacts on the aerogel. DGEBA has been used as epoxy resin in DETDA matrix, which acts as a hardener, to further reinforce the fibre. Fibre used has a tensile strength of 3.4 GPa and Modulus strength of 230 GPa. The total lightweight (4.1 kgs) structure was simulation tested on Ansys 2020 R2 Student version and is found to stop bullets up to 0.338 Lapua Magnum (Material -Copper, Velocity- 925 ms−1) .

Interior spaces are the cradle for activities of the people who use it. These activities reflect the lifestyle of a community. The design of the physical space pertains to the needs of the function it is meant for, while its aesthetics is created to provide the appropriate backdrop to visual and hence emotional satisfaction and pleasure. This is the reason why every Interior bears the signature of the design and ownership of the space. It has been seen that, Civilizations create their own identity within a space by virtue of its Architecture and Decorations which become the Fashion statement for an era. It evolves to signify a style identified with the culture of the particular period and location. However, it is more interesting to observe how remarkably different styles emerge in different locations, though the influence and design of the interiors belong to same historic periods. Although transformations happen over periods of time in history in the same region, but the identity of the interior of a particular region retains its individuality so distinguishable by virtue of its Geometry and Elements. In this paper, a comparison of interiors in England and France during the Renaissance period of 14th-17th Century, attempts to illustrate how the Geometry and the aesthetic elements create the perception of the interior space which is the identity of the style of the period. The innate Geometry of space and visual elements integrates to create a visual experience which goes on to build identity of a period style. The illustrations show how they balance each other to create a general perception for a time period and build an identity for a regional style in fashion. The one that will be known as French or English style of design.

Conventional agricultural practices that rely heavily on blanket fertilizer recommendation, eventually leading to deteriorated partial factor productivity and N use efficiency. We investigated the effect of SPAD-based N-management on productivity and N use efficiency of rice and wheat in eastern India. Here, in the experiment three SPAD thresholds (34, 36 and 38 in rice and 38, 40 and 42 in wheat) using three N levels (15, 25 and 35 kg N ha−1) in split were incorporated as real-time N management (RTNM), one fixed-time N management (FTNM), farmers’ fertilizer practice (FFP) and control (No fertilizer) were introduced in wet and dry seasons for rice and wheat, respectively, during the years 2010 to 2012. Topdressing with 25 kg N ha−1 at medium SPAD (S36 in rice and S40 in wheat) increased soil N availability, leaf N content and grain yield of rice (5215 kg ha−1) and wheat (4483 kg ha−1) over the grain yield recorded under a low rate of N topdressing at low SPAD. While saving 33.3% N in rice and 18.8% N in wheat, the agronomic N use efficiency (58.5% in both rice and wheat) and nitrogen recovery efficiency (32.2% in rice and 15.1% in wheat) can be increased when compared with conventional FTNM. The SPAD-based management strategy showed great promise in efficient management of N fertilizer, and we estimated the optimal SPAD threshold for rice and wheat as 37.5 and 41.8, respectively.

A field experiment was conducted during the rabi season of 2016-17at Research farm of Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour, to evaluate the effect of tillage, sowing time and irrigation levels on soil available moisture and water use efficiency of maize (Zea mays L.). The experiment comprised of two tillage methods viz. conventional tillage (CT) and zero tillage (ZT) in main plot, two sowing dates- 30th October and 10th November as sub-plot and three irrigation levels (I2 - 2 irrigations at six-leaf stage and tasseling, I4 - 4 irrigations at four-leaf stage, ten leaf stage, tasseling and milking and I6 - 6 irrigations at four-leaf stage, eight leaf stage, ten leaf stage, tasseling, milking and dough stage) as sub-sub plot treatment. The results indicated that the seasonal evapotranspiration (SET) increased significantly with increase in number of irrigation application. With the increase in two irrigations from I2 to I4 the grain yield water use efficiency (WUEy) increased by 30 percent while with further increase in two irrigations (I6) resulted in 10 percent reduction in WUEy over I4 irrigation level. However, the I6 irrigation level recorded 17 percent higher WUEy over I2 irrigation level. Although grain yield were higher with six irrigations but ssignificantly higher water use efficiency was obtained due to ZT, early planting and I4 irrigation level.
