Commercial buildings are considered as high‐risk units in fire due to the existence of expensive equipment and large presence of people with different ages. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess the fire risk of commercial and shopping centers in Kashan using the fire risk assessment method for engineering (FRAME). This cross‐sectional study was conducted using FRAME in 15 commercial and shopping centers in Kashan, Iran. The risk assessment data and FRAME checklist were collected by observation and interviews. Data analysis was conducted using Excel and Geographic Information System (GIS) software. The results of 46 checklists showed that the mean score of fire risk R for property was equal to 3.12, for people 3.81 and for activities 1.86. Also, the lowest risk for the property, people and activities belongs to Golestan Center with a score of 1.40, Valiasr with a score of 1.25 and Ataee with a score of 1.15, and the highest risk for the property, people and activities belongs to Mir Seyfi Center with a score of 5.80, Shafagh with a score of 9.96 and Sabz was 2.62, respectively. The present study showed the lack of proper ventilation system, lack of emergency exits, and lack of automatic fire alarm and extinguishing system were the factors affecting fire risk. Therefore, in order to prevent disasters and uncontrollable critical conditions, it is necessary to review the equipment of these buildings and to design and implement fire detection and alarm equipment and different ways of fire control in these centers. Objectives. This scientometric study aimed to investigate research and hot topics on unsafe behavior. Methods. The study was performed using scientometric analysis mapping tools, such as CiteSpace, Gephi, MINITAB and VOSviewer, for statistical analysis. Studies published in Web of Science were included. Results. The first study was published in 1987. The results of the study showed that the Safety Science journal with 111 studies (10.45%) presented most of the published studies in this field. The USA and China were the two highest producing countries, with 289 and 229 published studies, respectively. The results of keywords and hot topics showed that between 1991 and 2000 safety climate, safety performance and modeling were ranked as the first to third most frequent words, and during 2001–2010 safety performance was removed from the list of top 10 keywords while safety climate and modeling were ranked, respectively, ninth and sixth most frequent. Finally, between 2011 and 2020, the keyword of organizational factors rose to first rank, indicating the significance of this keyword in the future. Conclusions. According to the results of the present study, it can be concluded that future studies on unsafe behavior can be conducted in the field of organizational factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: Unsafe behaviors (UBs) are the most important cause of accidents, so there is a need to identify the factors effective on it. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the occurrence of UBs and also to build a strong theoretical model with fuzzy logic. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted among 270 participants in the steel industry in Iran. The factors, such as work-family conflict, job stress, and general health were investigated using relevant questionnaires, and the prevalence of UBs was investigated with the safety behavior sampling technique. Finally, the results were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 and MATLAB software. Findings: The results showed that out of 1310 samples of observed behavior, 531 UBs were observed (39.81%). There were 202 cases of nonuse or inappropriate use of personal protective equipment. General health, job stress in the supervisor, and colleagues' support were significantly associated with UBs (P < 0.05). In addition, general health, work-family conflict, job stress and were significantly correlated with each other (P < 0.001). Diffuse results using fuzzy logic predicted 56% of the behavioral conditions. Conclusions: This study showed that managing UBs is possible by controlling factors such as the support of supervisors and the way of management, as well as the reduction of social stresses such as work-family conflict, in addition to being able to increase people's health, also reducing accidents and UBs. Finally, using fuzzy logic, it is able to predict reality, and by knowing several behaviors, better models can be obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: Fatigue is a state in which a person's energy is completely depleted due to excessive physical or mental work. In addition to the importance of women workers and the effects of fatigue on them, limited studies have been conducted in this field in the world, especially in Iran. The present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of fatigue and related factors among women workers in one of the cities of Iran. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed among women workers in Kashan in 2018. The sample size was 265 participants from 300 workers. The data collection tool was the multidimensional fatigue inventory questionnaire. Data were analyzed via SPSS version 16. Results: The lowest and highest total score was 38 and 78, respectively. The mean score of activity decrease was 11.78, which was the highest score among questionnaire. Factors such as overtime, number of children, and work experience showed a statistically significant relationship with the total fatigue score (P < 0.05). Conclusion: According to the results, a large percentage of participants had a high score of fatigue. Managements should identify and modify the factors affecting fatigue to reduce the worker's fatigue. It seems that further studies are needed to reveal the relationship between fatigue and other variables to provide a deeper understanding of the causes of fatigue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: Environmental conditions affect workers health and performance. The present study aimed to investigate the simultaneous effect of ambient temperature and light intensity on human error. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 50 students from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. Each participant performed 9 tests in 5 min at 3 different temperatures (20°C, 25°C, and 30°C) and 3 lighting conditions (50, 500, and 1000 lux). The participants were asked to select a text randomly. Participants asked to read the text in just 6 min and identify the mistakes. In each step, the number of remaining lines, number of spelling mistakes found, and task completion time were estimated. Results: There was no significant relationship between the temperature and the number of remaining lines, the number of spelling mistakes, and the task completion time (P > 0.05). However, the relationship between different light intensity and the number of remaining lines and number of spelling mistakes was statically significant (P < 0.05). At a lighting of 500, 1000 lux, and a temperature of 25°C, male subjects performed better. Unlike men, women's performance was not affected that much by the light intensity and only declined slightly in the 1000 lux and at 20°C. Conclusions: The results showed that light intensity could be important to create a suitable environment for reducing human error. If the temperature could not increase in an environment due to the nature of a job or economic issues, reducing human errors could achieve by increasing light intensity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: Latex sensitivity has been a concern for health-care workers in recent years. Due to the excessive exposure to latex products in the operating room, the personnel of this department are exposed to high sensitivity to these products. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of latex sensitivity among operating room personnel. Materials and Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis conducted based on a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis checklist. The present study researchers explored four international databases, namely Medline/PubMed, ProQuest, Scopus, and Embase in February 2020. The selected keywords for international databases were classified into three categories (a) operating room personnel, (b) latex sensitivity, and (c) prevalence. The collected data were entered into the EndNote X8 software and analytical analysis was performed by STATA statistical software version 12. Results: Seventy-five articles were found by searching for databases. After several screening steps, 12 articles entered the final analysis. The results show that the prevalence of latex sensitivity in total is 14.76 (confidence interval 95%: 9.27–20.25). Meta-regression results showed that the relationship between the years of study and the prevalence of latex sensitivity is not statistically significant (P = 0.222). Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that sensitivity to latex is significantly prevalent among operating room staff. Due to the importance of sterility and sensitive working conditions in the operating room, as well as frequent contact with latex products, it is important to pay attention to the side effects caused by latex powder. Aims: A most widely used tool for measuring the workload is the NASA-task load index (TLX) questionnaire, in which various studies have reported numerous problems. The present study aimed to improve the NSAS-TLX mental workload questionnaire using the fuzzy linguistic variables instead of the virtual rating scale, and multicriteria decision-making Fuzzy Best-Worst method (FBWM) instead of pair-wise comparison. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out among students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. In order to compare the traditional NASA-TLX and FBWM NASA-TLX questionnaire, participants performed a standard N-Back task with three low, medium, and high workload, subsequently, they completed the two questionnaires. Finally, results were examined using the researcher-made software and SPSS 16. Results: With regard to the reaction time to response the N-Back test, the mean of correct responses were 107.43 and 85.86 responses at levels 1 and 3, respectively. The mean score of the subscales and the final score in the two questionnaires at different levels of the N-Back test were independent as follows: the two questionnaires had a significant difference on mental demand at level 3 with a mean (standard deviation [SD]) of 18.09 (6.39) in the FBWM-NASA-TLX questionnaire and mean (SD) of 22.64 (8.15) in the NASA-TLX questionnaire (P < 0.05). Conclusion: In this study, the FBWM-NASA-TLX questionnaire was designed and studied with regard to the problems and limitations of the NASA-TLX questionnaire. Background and Objective: The existence of noise in the workplace is considered one of the causes of job stress. Stress can affect an individual's communication skills. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between workplace noise and workers' communication skills. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in one of the mines in Yazd Province, Iran, in 2019. The samples of this study (n=80) were divided into two groups of exposed and control. The instruments utilized to collect the necessary data included two questionnaires, namely a demographic form and the Queendom communication skills test. Moreover, the sound measurement was performed using a noise dosimeter and sound level meter. The gathered data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 21). Results: Based on the results, the demographic characteristics of all participants showed no significant relationship with subscales and final scores of communication skills (P>0.05). Therefore, the two groups were not significantly different in this regard. However, it was revealed that communication skills had a significant relationship with the level of sound exposure in the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: The results showed that an individual's communication skills would decrease due to noise exposure. This skill is highly important in jobs and can also influence productivity and accident incidence. Consequently, it is possible to prevent workers' ability loss by reducing their exposure to noise. Hepatocellular carcinoma or Liver cancer (LC) is the sixth most common cancer and the fourth cause of death worldwide in 2018. There has not been a comprehensive study on the survival rate of patients with LC in Asia yet. Therefore, the present study was conducted to evaluate the survival rate of patients with LC in Asian countries. The methodology of the present study is based on the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. The researchers searched five international databases including Medline/PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Knowledge and ProQuest until July 1, 2018. We also searched Google Scholar for detecting grey literature. The Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Form was used to evaluate the quality of selected papers. A total of 1425 titles were retrieved. 63 studies met the inclusion criteria. Based on the randomeffect model one-year, three-year and five-year survival rate of LC were 34.8 % (95 % CI; 30.3-39.3), 19 % (95 % CI ; 18.2-21.8) and 18.1 % (95 % CI ;16.1-20.1) respectively. According to the results of our study, the LC survival rate in Asian countries is relatively lower than in Europe and North America. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background and Objective: In order to take control measures to protect the health of employees against occupational hazardous agents, it is essential to assess the occupational health risks. The purpose of this study was to develop a method for occupational health risk assessment in petrochemical industry. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out among operational and administrative occupational groups in one of the petrochemicals plants in the south of Iran. The "comprehensive occupational health risk assessment" method was used to assess the risks of occupational hazards. For this purpose, the exposure rate (ER) and hazard rate (HR) for all hazards were determined based on the results of exposure measurements and health hazards data, respectively. Finally, the risk of occupational health hazards was evaluated and calculated by multiplying the ER by HR. Results: The level of risk in 13.6% of the investigated occupational groups was evaluated as high. Among occupational health hazards, the risk of exposure to noise and inappropriate lighting, benzene and ergonomic factors were assessed at a high and moderate level, respectively. The risk of all occupational health hazards, except for ergonomic factors, were higher among operational jobs compared to administrative occupations. Conclusion: Comprehensive occupational health risk assessment could be used for prioritizing the occupational health hazards and making desicion about resource allocation and required control measures. Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders are the most common occupational diseases and, to prevent these disorders, it is important to survey and recognize significant underlying factors. In this study, the primary objective was to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in the steel industry and, the conclusive goal was to examine the relationship between work-family conflict as a social factor and musculoskeletal disorders. Methods: This study was conducted in one of the country's steel industry in the steel sector with a research population of 270 workers. To study work-family conflict the 18item Carlson and Kakmar questionnaire was used to survey the six sub-scales of this type of conflict in two dimensions and, musculoskeletal disorders were assessed by using a Nordic questionnaire. At the end, the results were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 software. Results: The mean score (SD) for the entire study population of work-family conflict was 50.30 (12.352). The relationship between work-family conflict and musculoskeletal disorders showed that work-family conflict in general and in the domains of time-based from work to family and family to work (P < 0.001), strain-based only from work to family and behavior-based only from family to work showed a significant relationship with musculoskeletal disorders (P < 0.05). Conclusions: This study introduced a new operating cause of musculoskeletal disorders and stated that the management of such conflicts could be helpful in reducing musculoskeletal disorders. Background: Drivers are vulnerable to musculoskeletal and psychological disorders because of substantially harmful agents in this stressful occupation. This study aims to investigate the influence of driver's physical and psychological health on the risk of road accidents using fuzzy logic approach. Methods: Two input variables including musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and mental health, alongside accident risk levels as output variables were fuzzed using a fuzzy inference system (FIS). Triangular and trapezoid membership functions were used to graphically define outputs related to low, moderate, high and very high, in fuzzy sets. A Mamdani-type FIS was applied to represent all the rules in the IF-THEN format and the patterns of linguistic variables were designed using AND, OR and NOT operators. Results: The results showed that there is significant relationship between MSDs and psychological health with road accidents involving drivers of heavy vehicles (p<0.05). Also, surface graphs illustrated the relationship between MSDs, psychological health and accident risks. FIS as a novel approach was used for predication of accident risk levels involving drivers of heavy vehicles on the basis of health factors. Conclusions: Physical and psychological health can influence the safe operation of heavy vehicle drivers. The fuzzy inference system provided a method that is advantageous and with promising results for modeling of road accident risk levels on the basis of driver's physical and mental health.
