1. درجة امتلاك طلبة الجامعة الأردنية للمهارات الإعلامية التربوية

Abstract: الأهداف: هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التعرف إلى درجة امتلاك طلبة الجامعة الأردنية للمهارات الإعلامية التربوية من وجهة نظرهم. المنهجية: انتهجت هذه الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المسحي، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تكوّن مجتمع الدراسة من جميع طلبة البكالوريوس في الجامعة الأردنية في الأردن خلال العام الجامعي 2022/2023، واختيرت عينة عشوائية طبقية بلغت 360 طالباً وطالبة، وتم جمع المعلومات من خلال تطوير استبانة تكونت من 50 فقرة موزعة على ثلاث مجالات هي: إعداد وتقديم البرامج الإذاعية والتلفزيونية، ومهارات التصوير الفوتوغرافي والتلفزيوني، ومهارات الإخراج. النتائج: أظهرت النتائج أن درجة امتلاك طلبة الجامعة الأردنية للمهارات الإعلامية التربوية من وجهة نظرهم كانت منخفضة على أداة الدراسة ككل، واحتل مجال "إعداد وتقديم البرامج الإذاعية والتلفزيونية" الترتيب الأول بمتوسطٍ حسابي (1.28)، وبانحراف معياري (0.57)، وجاء مجال "الإخراج التلفزيوني" بالترتيب الثاني بمتوسطٍ حسابي (1.23)، وبانحراف معياري (0.52)، فيما جاء مجال "مهارات التصوير الفوتوغرافي والتلفزيوني" بالترتيب الثالث والأخير بمتوسطٍ حسابي (1.17)، وبانحراف معياري (0.47)، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (α=0.05) تعزى لمتغير الجنس ولصالح الإناث، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (α=0.05) تعزى لمتغير الكلية ولصالح الكليات العلمية. الخلاصة: خلصت الدراسة إلى ضرورة تركيز الجامعات على أهمية امتلاك طلبتها للمهارات الإعلامية التربوية، وتضمين مفاهيمها وأبعادها في المقررات الدراسية، وتطوير البيئة الجامعية لتحقيق ذلك.

2. A NEW APPROACH FOR BREAST CANCER DETECTION- BASED MACHINE LEARNING TECHNIQUE

Abstract: The leading cause of cancer-related mortality is breast cancer. Breast cancer detection at an early stage is crucial. Data on breast cancer can be diagnosed using a number of different Machine learning approaches. Automated breast cancer diagnosis using a Machine Learning model is introduced in this research. Features were selected using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) as a classifier model, and noise was removed using Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE). On top of that, the research compares five algorithms: Random Forest, SVM, KNN, Naïve Bayes classifier, and Logistic Regression. An extensive dataset of 3002 combined images was used to test the system. The dataset included information from 1400 individuals who underwent digital mammography between 2007 and 2015. Accuracy and precision are the metrics by which the system's performance is evaluated. Due to its low computing power requirements and excellent accuracy, our suggested model is shown to be quite efficient in the simulation results.

Abstract: We live in a world where the Internet has become the backbone of most of our dealings. The Internet has turned this big planet into a small village. The internet can be reached by everyone, everywhere, and anytime. Some authors predict that the number of various types of devices capable of connecting via the Internet will reach 75.44 billion by 2025. These devices vary from low processing power processors to heavy processing power processors. It often requires the protection of mobile data between devices, these devices that have limited energy and resources require the protection technology to be adapted This paper gives complete guidelines for adapting the original Data Encryption Standard Algorithm (DES) and make it more secure and better performance than existing standard encryption algorithms, such as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). The proposed approach improves the original DES security by extending the key size of DES without affecting the cost of DES. The new algorithm is called DES22, and it is convenient for low processing power devices, such as wireless sensors. DES22 has three variants for key size: 128 bits, 256 bits and 512 bits. The paper also proposes another improvement to DES through random permutation and the distribution of the initial permutation and final permutation tables between the encryption and decryption algorithms. The experiment results show that DES22 is more secure and faster than AES. [JJCIT 2022; 8(1.000): 18-32]

Abstract: The cell cycle is a rich field for research, especially, the DNA damage. DNA damage, which happened naturally or as a result of environmental influences causes change in the chemical structure of DNA. The extent of DNA damage has a significant impact on the fate of the cell in later stages.In this paper, we introduced an Unsupervised Machine learning Model for DNA Damage Diagnosis and Analysis. Mainly, we employed K-means clustering unsupervised machine learning algorithms. Unsupervised algorithms commonly draw conclusions from datasets by solely utilizing input vectors, disregarding any known or labeled outcomes. The model provided deep insight about DNA damage and exposes the protein levels for proteins when work together in sub-network model to deal with DNA damage occurrence, the unsupervised artificial model explained the sub-network biological model activities in regard to the changing in their concentrations in several clusters, they have been grouped in such as (0 - no damage, 1 - low, 2 - medium, 3 - high, and 4 - excess) DNA damage clusters.The results provided a rational and persuasive explanation for numerous important phenomena, including the oscillation of the protein p53, in a clear and understandable manner. Which is encouraging since it demonstrates that the K-means clustering approach can be easily applied to many similar biological systems, which aids in better understanding the key dynamics of these systems.

Abstract: A search for proton decay into $e^+/\mu^+$ and a $\eta$ meson has been performed using data from a 0.373 Mton$\cdot$year exposure (6050.3 live days) of Super-Kamiokande. Compared to previous searches this work introduces an improved model of the intranuclear $\eta$ interaction cross section, resulting in a factor of two reduction in uncertainties from this source and $\sim$10\% increase in signal efficiency. No significant data excess was found above the expected number of atmospheric neutrino background events resulting in no indication of proton decay into either mode. Lower limits on the proton partial lifetime of $1.4\times\mathrm{10^{34}~years}$ for $p\rightarrow e^+\eta$ and $7.3\times\mathrm{10^{33}~years}$ for $p\rightarrow \mu^+\eta$ at the 90$\%$ C.L. were set. These limits are around 1.5 times longer than our previous study and are the most stringent to date.

6. Effect of Generalized Improper Gaussian Noise and In-Phase/Quadrature-Phase Imbalance on Quadrature Spatial Modulation

Abstract: Quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) isa recently proposed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless transmission paradigm that has garnered considerable research interest owing to its relatively high spectral efficiency. QSM essentially enhances the spatial multiplexing gain while maintaining all the inherent advantages of spatial modulation (SM). This work studies the effects of in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) imbalance and improper Gaussian noise (IGN) on the performance of QSM. Considering a scenario where both receiver and transmitter operate under the effects of I/Q imbalance, we propose a novel receiver design that optimizes the system bit error rate (BER) when there is IGN at the receiver. Closed forms of the average pairwise error probability (APEP) and upper bound of the average BER formulas are derived. These formulas are derived considering the Beckmann fading channel model, where most well-known fading channel models can be considered special cases. The proposed designs demonstrate solid performance despite the effects of I/Q imbalance. In fact, these effects can be entirely eliminated if they exist at the receiver and significantly reduced at the transmitter. All analytical results were verified by computer simulations.

7. AN EFFICIENT HOLY QURAN RECITATION RECOGNIZER BASED ON SVM LEARNING MODEL

Abstract: Holy Quran recitation recognition refers to the process of identifying the type of recitation, among those authorized styles of recitation (“Qira’ah” in Arabic). Several previous studies investigated the recitation rules (“Ahkam Al-Tajweed” in Arabic) that are applied by readers or reciters while reading the Holy Quran aloud, but no study has examined the problem of tracking the type of recitation used in the reading. Through this research, we can assist Holy Quran students to easily learn the perfect and accurate recitation by successfully applying Ahkam Al-Tajweed and help them distinguish between different recitations or "Qira’ah". In this paper, a recognition model is conducted to recognize the “Qira’ah” from the corresponding Holy Quran acoustic wave. This model was built upon three phases; the first phase is the Mel-Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC) feature extraction of the acoustic signal and labeling it, the second phase is training Support Vector Machine (SVM) learning model the labeled features and finally, recognizing “Qira’ah” based on this trained model. To attain this, we have built our corpus, which has 10 categories, each of which is labeled as one type of Holy Quran recitation or “Qira’ah”. Different machine learning algorithms were applied and compared. Experimental results proved the superiority of our proposed SVM-based recognition model for “Qira’ah” over other machine learning algorithms with a success rate of 96%.

Abstract: الملخص: أهداف البحث: تعتبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي واحدة من الأنشطة الأكثر شيوعا بين طلاب الجامعات التي يمكن أن تؤثر على حياتهم اليومية. وهناك اختلاف كبير لهذا التأثير على أساس الجنس وبعض العوامل الأخرى. إن تأثير استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على الأداء الأكاديمي غير معروف. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم الفروق بين الجنسين بين طلبة جامعة الشارقة للتنبؤ بتأثير استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على أدائهم الأكاديمي. طرق البحث: أجريت دراسة مقطعية على ٣٢٨ من طلبة الطب بجامعة الشارقة، من جميع السنوات الدراسية. وتم تقييم استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي باستخدام استبانة تعبأ ذاتيا بعنوان “استبانة وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي والأداء الأكاديمي للطلاب”. تستخدم هذه الأداة مقياس تقييم ليكرت ذا ٤ نقاط ويحتوي على قسمين؛ قسم للتركيبة السكانية للمشارك، وسنة الدراسة والوقت الذي يقضيه في استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، والقسم الآخر يجمع آراء المشاركين عن تأثير وإدمان استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. النتائج: استجاب ٣٢٨ طالبا من بين ٥٠٠ تمت دعوتهم؛ بمعدل استجابة ٦٦٪. وكان الإناث ٦١٪ والذكور ٣٩٪. كما كان متوسط الوقت المستخدم في استعمال وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي هو ٢-٣ ساعات يوميا. علاوة على ذلك، كان الطلاب الذكور أكثر إدمانا على استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي (٤٩.٦٪ مقابل ٣٢٪، عند الإناث). بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يتأثر الأداء الأكاديمي للإناث بإستخدام وسائل التواصل الإجتماعي بدرجة أكبر من الذكور. الاستنتاجات: توضح هذه الدراسة وجود فرق كبير في الأداء الأكاديمي لطلاب الطب متأثرين باستخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. نحث معلمي الطب على صياغة المبادئ التوجيهية لاستخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي لأغراض تعليمية الأمر الذي سوف يساعد على تحسين الأداء الأكاديمي للطلاب. Abstract: Objective: Social media usage is considered one of the most common activities among university students that could impact their daily lives. There is a great variation of the level of this impact depending on gender and some other factors. The impact of social media usage on academic performance is not known. This study aims to evaluate gender differences amongst students at the University of Sharjah (UoS) for predicting the impact of social media usage on their academic performance. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 328 medical UoS students across all years of study. Social media usage was assessed by a self-administered questionnaire titled Social Media and Academic Performance of Students Questionnaire (SMAAPOS). This tool used a 4-point Linkert rating scale and contained two sections: a section for participants' demographics, year of study and time spent on social media and another section collected participants' views about the impact and addictiveness of social media. Chi-square test using SPSS (v 20) was used for data analysis. Results: Of the 500 invitees, 328 students responded; a response rate of 66%. The respondents were 61% female and 39% male students. The average time spent on social media usage was reported as 2–3 h per day. Furthermore, males were more addicted to social media than females (49.6%) and (32%), respectively. Additionally, females' academic performance was more highly influenced by the usage of social media than that of males, although males were more addicted to social media networks. Conclusion: This study demonstrates a significant difference in the academic performance of medical students as influenced by social media usage. Abstract: The Super-Kamiokande and T2K collaborations present a joint measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters from their atmospheric and beam neutrino data. It uses a common interaction model for events overlapping in neutrino energy and correlated detector systematic uncertainties between the two datasets, which are found to be compatible. Using 3244.4 days of atmospheric data and a beam exposure of $19.7(16.3) \times 10^{20}$ protons on target in (anti)neutrino mode, the analysis finds a 1.9$\sigma$ exclusion of CP-conservation (defined as $J_{CP}=0$) and a preference for the normal mass ordering., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: Neutrinos from very nearby supernovae, such as Betelgeuse, are expected to generate more than ten million events over 10\,s in Super-Kamokande (SK). At such large event rates, the buffers of the SK analog-to-digital conversion board (QBEE) will overflow, causing random loss of data that is critical for understanding the dynamics of the supernova explosion mechanism. In order to solve this problem, two new DAQ modules were developed to aid in the observation of very nearby supernovae. The first of these, the SN module, is designed to save only the number of hit PMTs during a supernova burst and the second, the Veto module, prescales the high rate neutrino events to prevent the QBEE from overflowing based on information from the SN module. In the event of a very nearby supernova, these modules allow SK to reconstruct the time evolution of the neutrino event rate from beginning to end using both QBEE and SN module data. This paper presents the development and testing of these modules together with an analysis of supernova-like data generated with a flashing laser diode. We demonstrate that the Veto module successfully prevents DAQ overflows for Betelgeuse-like supernovae as well as the long-term stability of the new modules. During normal running the Veto module is found to issue DAQ vetos a few times per month resulting in a total dead time less than 1\,ms, and does not influence ordinary operations. Additionally, using simulation data we find that supernovae closer than 800~pc will trigger Veto module resulting in a prescaling of the observed neutrino data., Comment: 28 pages, 18 figures. Abstract: We present the results of the charge ratio ($R$) and polarization ($P^{\mu}_{0}$) measurements using the decay electron events collected from 2008 September to 2022 June by the Super-Kamiokande detector. Because of its underground location and long operation, we performed high precision measurements by accumulating cosmic-ray muons. We measured the muon charge ratio to be $R=1.32 \pm 0.02$ $(\mathrm{stat.}{+}\mathrm{syst.})$ at $E_{\mu}\cos \theta_{\mathrm{Zenith}}=0.7^{+0.3}_{-0.2}$ $\mathrm{TeV}$, where $E_{\mu}$ is the muon energy and $\theta_{\mathrm{Zenith}}$ is the zenith angle of incoming cosmic-ray muons. This result is consistent with the Honda flux model while this suggests a tension with the $\pi K$ model of $1.9\sigma$. We also measured the muon polarization at the production location to be $P^{\mu}_{0}=0.52 \pm 0.02$ $(\mathrm{stat.}{+}\mathrm{syst.})$ at the muon momentum of $0.9^{+0.6}_{-0.1}$ $\mathrm{TeV}/c$ at the surface of the mountain; this also suggests a tension with the Honda flux model of $1.5\sigma$. This is the most precise measurement ever to experimentally determine the cosmic-ray muon polarization near $1~\mathrm{TeV}/c$. Abstract: The first loading of gadolinium (Gd) into Super-Kamiokande in 2020 was successful, and the neutron capture efficiency on Gd reached 50\%. To further increase the Gd neutron capture efficiency to 75\%, 26.1 tons of $\rm Gd_2(\rm SO_4)_3\cdot \rm 8H_2O$ was additionally loaded into Super-Kamiokande (SK) from May 31 to July 4, 2022. As the amount of loaded $\rm Gd_2(\rm SO_4)_3\cdot \rm 8H_2O$ was doubled compared to the first loading, the capacity of the powder dissolving system was doubled. We also developed new batches of gadolinium sulfate with even further reduced radioactive impurities. In addition, a more efficient screening method was devised and implemented to evaluate these new batches of $\rm Gd_2(\rm SO_4)_3\cdot \rm 8H_2O$. Following the second loading, the Gd concentration in SK was measured to be $333.5\pm2.5$ ppm via an Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS). From the mean neutron capture time constant of neutrons from an Am/Be calibration source, the Gd concentration was independently measured to be 332.7 $\pm$ 6.8(sys.) $\pm$ 1.1(stat.) ppm, consistent with the AAS result. Abstract: Among multi-messenger observations of the next galactic core-collapse supernova, Super-Kamiokande (SK) plays a critical role in detecting the emitted supernova neutrinos, determining the direction to the supernova (SN), and notifying the astronomical community of these observations in advance of the optical signal. On 2022, SK has increased the gadolinium dissolved in its water target (SK-Gd) and has achieved a Gd concentration of 0.033%, resulting in enhanced neutron detection capability, which in turn enables more accurate determination of the supernova direction. Accordingly, SK-Gd's real-time supernova monitoring system (Abe te al. 2016b) has been upgraded. SK_SN Notice, a warning system that works together with this monitoring system, was released on December 13, 2021, and is available through GCN Notices (Barthelmy et al. 2000). When the monitoring system detects an SN-like burst of events, SK_SN Notice will automatically distribute an alarm with the reconstructed direction to the supernova candidate within a few minutes. In this paper, we present a systematic study of SK-Gd's response to a simulated galactic SN. Assuming a supernova situated at 10 kpc, neutrino fluxes from six supernova models are used to characterize SK-Gd's pointing accuracy using the same tools as the online monitoring system. The pointing accuracy is found to vary from 3-7$^\circ$ depending on the models. However, if the supernova is closer than 10 kpc, SK_SN Notice can issue an alarm with three-degree accuracy, which will benefit follow-up observations by optical telescopes with large fields of view., Comment: 38 pages, 29 figures, 6 tables

Abstract: An analysis of solar neutrino data from the fourth phase of Super-Kamiokande~(SK-IV) from October 2008 to May 2018 is performed and the results are presented. The observation time of the data set of SK-IV corresponds to $2970$~days and the total live time for all four phases is $5805$~days. For more precise solar neutrino measurements, several improvements are applied in this analysis: lowering the data acquisition threshold in May 2015, further reduction of the spallation background using neutron clustering events, precise energy reconstruction considering the time variation of the PMT gain. The observed number of solar neutrino events in $3.49$--$19.49$ MeV electron kinetic energy region during SK-IV is $65,443^{+390}_{-388}\,(\mathrm{stat.})\pm 925\,(\mathrm{syst.})$ events. Corresponding $\mathrm{^{8}B}$ solar neutrino flux is $(2.314 \pm 0.014\, \rm{(stat.)} \pm 0.040 \, \rm{(syst.)}) \times 10^{6}~\mathrm{cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$, assuming a pure electron-neutrino flavor component without neutrino oscillations. The flux combined with all SK phases up to SK-IV is $(2.336 \pm 0.011\, \rm{(stat.)} \pm 0.043 \, \rm{(syst.)}) \times 10^{6}~\mathrm{cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$. Based on the neutrino oscillation analysis from all solar experiments, including the SK $5805$~days data set, the best-fit neutrino oscillation parameters are $\rm{sin^{2} \theta_{12,\,solar}} = 0.306 \pm 0.013 $ and $\Delta m^{2}_{21,\,\mathrm{solar}} = (6.10^{+ 0.95}_{-0.81}) \times 10^{-5}~\rm{eV}^{2}$, with a deviation of about 1.5$\sigma$ from the $\Delta m^{2}_{21}$ parameter obtained by KamLAND. The best-fit neutrino oscillation parameters obtained from all solar experiments and KamLAND are $\sin^{2} \theta_{12,\,\mathrm{global}} = 0.307 \pm 0.012 $ and $\Delta m^{2}_{21,\,\mathrm{global}} = (7.50^{+ 0.19}_{-0.18}) \times 10^{-5}~\rm{eV}^{2}$., Comment: 47 pages, 61 figures

Abstract: The Accelerator Neutrino Neutron Interaction Experiment (ANNIE) is a 26-ton water Cherenkov neutrino detector installed on the Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB) at Fermilab. Its main physics goals are to perform a measurement of the neutron yield from neutrino-nucleus interactions, as well as a measurement of the charged-current cross section of muon neutrinos. An equally important focus is placed on the research and development of new detector technologies and target media. Specifically water-based liquid scintillator (WbLS) is of interest as a novel detector medium, as it allows for the simultaneous detection of scintillation and Cherenkov light. This paper presents the deployment of a 366L WbLS vessel in ANNIE in March 2023 and the subsequent detection of both Cherenkov light and scintillation from the WbLS. This proof-of-concept allows for the future development of reconstruction and particle identification algorithms in ANNIE, as well as dedicated analyses, such as the search for neutral current events and the hadronic scintillation component within the WbLS volume., Comment: 19 pages, 16 figures

16. Factorial Validity and Reliability of Self-Regulation Learning Questionnaire among Undergraduate Students at University of Dammam in Saudi Arabia

Abstract: The aim of the study was to examine the factor structure of the short-version of the self-regulated learning questionnaire in a group of undergraduate students at the University of Dammam. Four factors were assumed to represent the self-regulation: concentration, time management, self-testing and study aids. Testing reliability and validity of the constructs was another aim of this study. The study sample comprised 209 students (89 females and 120 males). Stu- dent age ranged from 18-21 years. The scale had 32 items with eight items for each of the four subscales. The research examined the factorial validity and reliability for the four factors of self- regulation across gender. The short version of the self-regulated questionnaire achieved good validity and reliability, and the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) showed acceptable values of model fit to data. Consequently, the construct was compared via univariate analysis of variance with gender as independent variable. The results indicated significant differences between males and females. The contribution of this paper is to create a valid instrument to measure student self-regulation in university setting.

Abstract: We present a measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters with the Super-Kamiokande detector using atmospheric neutrinos from the complete pure-water SK I-V (April 1996-July 2020) data set, including events from an expanded fiducial volume. The data set corresponds to 6511.3 live days and an exposure of 484.2 kiloton-years. Measurements of the neutrino oscillation parameters $\Delta m^2_{32}$, $\sin^2\theta_{23}$, $\sin^2 \theta_{13}$, $\delta_{CP}$, and the preference for the neutrino mass ordering are presented with atmospheric neutrino data alone, and with constraints on $\sin^2 \theta_{13}$ from reactor neutrino experiments. Abstract: We report the first measurement of the atmospheric neutrino-oxygen neutral-current quasielastic (NCQE) cross section in the gadolinium-loaded Super-Kamiokande (SK) water Cherenkov detector. In June 2020, SK began a new experimental phase, named SK-Gd, by loading 0.011% by mass of gadolinium into the ultrapure water of the SK detector. The introduction of gadolinium to ultrapure water has the effect of improving the neutron-tagging efficiency. Using a 552.2 day data set from August 2020 to June 2022, we measure the NCQE cross section to be 0.74 $\pm$ 0.22(stat.) $^{+0.85}_{-0.15}$ (syst.) $\times$ 10$^{-38}$ cm$^{2}$/oxygen in the energy range from 160 MeV to 10 GeV, which is consistent with the atmospheric neutrino-flux-averaged theoretical NCQE cross section and the measurement in the SK pure-water phase within the uncertainties. Furthermore, we compare the models of the nucleon-nucleus interactions in water and find that the Binary Cascade model and the Liege Intranuclear Cascade model provide a somewhat better fit to the observed data than the Bertini Cascade model. Since the atmospheric neutrino-oxygen NCQE reactions are one of the main backgrounds in the search for diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB), these new results will contribute to future studies - and the potential discovery - of the DSNB in SK., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: We report a search for time variations of the solar $^8$B neutrino flux using 5804 live days of Super-Kamiokande data collected between May 31, 1996, and May 30, 2018. Super-Kamiokande measured the precise time of each solar neutrino interaction over 22 calendar years to search for solar neutrino flux modulations with unprecedented precision. Periodic modulations are searched for in a dataset comprising five-day interval solar neutrino flux measurements with a maximum likelihood method. We also applied the Lomb-Scargle method to this dataset to compare it with previous reports. The only significant modulation found is due to the elliptic orbit of the Earth around the Sun. The observed modulation is consistent with astronomical data: we measured an eccentricity of (1.53$\pm$0.35)\%, and a perihelion shift of ($-$1.5$\pm$13.5) days., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables, and data file: "sksolartimevariation5804d.txt" (the data file updated with additional 3 columns -- R^2 correction, upper-error, lower-error)

Abstract: We report an updated measurement of the $\nu_{\mu}$-induced, and the first measurement of the $\bar{\nu}_{\mu}$-induced coherent charged pion production cross section on $^{12}C$ nuclei in the T2K experiment. This is measured in a restricted region of the final-state phase space for which $p_{\mu,\pi} > 0.2$ GeV, $\cos(\theta_{\mu}) > 0.8$ and $\cos(\theta_{\pi}) > 0.6$, and at a mean (anti)neutrino energy of 0.85 GeV using the T2K near detector. The measured $\nu_{\mu}$ CC coherent pion production flux-averaged cross section on $^{12}C$ is $(2.98 \pm 0.37 (stat.) \pm 0.31 (syst.) \substack{ +0.49 \\ -0.00 } \mathrm{ (Q^2\,model)}) \times 10^{-40}~\mathrm{cm}^{2}$. The new measurement of the $\bar{\nu}_{\mu}$-induced cross section on $^{12}{C}$ is $(3.05 \pm 0.71 (stat.) \pm 0.39 (syst.) \substack{ +0.74 \\ -0.00 } \mathrm{(Q^2\,model)}) \times 10^{-40}~\mathrm{cm}^{2}$. The results are compatible with both the NEUT 5.4.0 Berger-Sehgal (2009) and GENIE 2.8.0 Rein-Sehgal (2007) model predictions.

Abstract: Photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) are traditionally an integral part of large underground experiments as they measure the light emission from particle interactions within the enclosed detection media. The BUTTON experiment will utilise around 100 PMTs to measure the response of different media suitable for rare event searches. A subset of low-radioactivity 10-inch Hamamatsu R7081 PMTs were tested, characterised, and compared to manufacture certification. This manuscript describes the laboratory tests and analysis of gain, peak-to-valley ratio and dark rate of the PMTs to give an understanding of the charge response, signal-to-noise ratio and dark noise background as an acceptance test of the suitability of these PMTs for water-based detectors. Following the evaluation of these tests, the PMT performance agreed with the manufacturer specifications. These results are imperative for modeling the PMT response in detector simulations and providing confidence in the performance of the devices once installed in the detector underground., Comment: 11 pages, 11 figures

Abstract: Muon neutrino and antineutrino disappearance probabilities are identical in the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework, but CPT violation and non-standard interactions can violate this symmetry. In this work we report the measurements of $\sin^{2} \theta_{23}$ and $\Delta m_{32}^2$ independently for neutrinos and antineutrinos. The aforementioned symmetry violation would manifest as an inconsistency in the neutrino and antineutrino oscillation parameters. The analysis discussed here uses a total of 1.97$\times$10$^{21}$ and 1.63$\times$10$^{21}$ protons on target taken with a neutrino and antineutrino beam respectively, and benefits from improved flux and cross-section models, new near detector samples and more than double the data reducing the overall uncertainty of the result. No significant deviation is observed, consistent with the standard neutrino oscillation picture.

Abstract: We report the first search result for the flux of astrophysical electron antineutrinos for energies O(10) MeV in the gadolinium-loaded Super-Kamiokande (SK) detector. In June 2020, gadolinium was introduced to the ultra-pure water of the SK detector in order to detect neutrons more efficiently. In this new experimental phase, SK-Gd, we can search for electron antineutrinos via inverse beta decay with efficient background rejection and higher signal efficiency thanks to the high efficiency of the neutron tagging technique. In this paper, we report the result for the initial stage of SK-Gd with a $22.5\times552$ $\rm kton\cdot day$ exposure at 0.01% Gd mass concentration. No significant excess over the expected background in the observed events is found for the neutrino energies below 31.3 MeV. Thus, the flux upper limits are placed at the 90% confidence level. The limits and sensitivities are already comparable with the previous SK result with pure-water ($22.5 \times 2970 \rm kton\cdot day$) owing to the enhanced neutron tagging.

Abstract: This paper reports the first measurement of muon neutrino charged-current interactions without pions in the final state using multiple detectors with correlated energy spectra at T2K. The data was collected on hydrocarbon targets using the off-axis T2K near detector (ND280) and the on-axis T2K near detector (INGRID) with neutrino energy spectra peaked at 0.6 GeV and 1.1 GeV respectively. The correlated neutrino flux presents an opportunity to reduce the impact of the flux uncertainty and to study the energy dependence of neutrino interactions. The extracted double-differential cross sections are compared to several Monte Carlo neutrino-nucleus interaction event generators showing the agreement between both detectors individually and with the correlated result., Comment: Updated discussion in Sec. Abstract: The T2K experiment presents new measurements of neutrino oscillation parameters using $19.7(16.3)\times10^{20}$ protons on target (POT) in (anti-)neutrino mode at the far detector (FD). Compared to the previous analysis, an additional $4.7\times10^{20}$ POT neutrino data was collected at the FD. Significant improvements were made to the analysis methodology, with the near-detector analysis introducing new selections and using more than double the data. Additionally, this is the first T2K oscillation analysis to use NA61/SHINE data on a replica of the T2K target to tune the neutrino flux model, and the neutrino interaction model was improved to include new nuclear effects and calculations. Frequentist and Bayesian analyses are presented, including results on $\sin^2\theta_{13}$ and the impact of priors on the $\delta_\mathrm{CP}$ measurement. Both analyses prefer the normal mass ordering and upper octant of $\sin^2\theta_{23}$ with a nearly maximally CP-violating phase. Assuming the normal ordering and using the constraint on $\sin^2\theta_{13}$ from reactors, $\sin^2\theta_{23}=0.561^{+0.021}_{-0.032}$ using Feldman--Cousins corrected intervals, and $\Delta{}m^2_{32}=2.494_{-0.058}^{+0.041}\times10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV^2}$ using constant $\Delta\chi^{2}$ intervals. The CP-violating phase is constrained to $\delta_\mathrm{CP}=-1.97_{-0.70}^{+0.97}$ using Feldman--Cousins corrected intervals, and $\delta_\mathrm{CP}=0,\pi$ is excluded at more than 90% confidence level. A Jarlskog invariant of zero is excluded at more than $2\sigma$ credible level using a flat prior in $\delta_\mathrm{CP}$, and just below $2\sigma$ using a flat prior in $\sin\delta_\mathrm{CP}$. When the external constraint on $\sin^2\theta_{13}$ is removed, $\sin^2\theta_{13}=28.0^{+2.8}_{-6.5}\times10^{-3}$, in agreement with measurements from reactor experiments. These results are consistent with previous T2K analyses.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the calibration of apertures for rectangular waveguides using open-short-load (OSL) standards and transmission-line (TL) approaches. The reflection coefficients that were measured using both calibration techniques were compared with the coefficients acquired using the thru-reflect-line (TRL) method. In this study, analogous relationships between the results of OSL calibration and TL calibration were identified. In the OSL calibration method, the theoretical, open-standard values are calculated from quasi-static integral models. The proposed TL calibration procedure is a simple, rapid, broadband approach, and its results were validated by using the OSL calibration method and by comparing the results with the calculated integral admittance. Abstract: The supernova model discrimination capabilities of the WATCHMAN detector concept are explored. This cylindrical kilotonne-scale water Cherenkov detector design has been developed to detect reactor antineutrinos through inverse $\beta$-decay for non-proliferation applications but also has the ability to observe antineutrino bursts of core-collapse supernovae within our galaxy. Detector configurations with sizes ranging from 16 m to 22 m tank diameter and 10% to 20% PMT coverage are used to compare the expected observable antineutrino spectra based on the Nakazato, Vartanyan and Warren supernova models. These spectra are then compared to each other with a fixed event count of 100 observed inverse $\beta$-decay events and a benchmark supernova at 10 kpc distance from Earth. By comparing the expected spectra, each detector configuration's ability to distinguish is evaluated. This analysis then demonstrates that the detector design is capable of meaningful event discrimination (90+% accuracy) with 100 observed supernova antineutrino events in most configurations. Furthermore, a larger tank configuration can maintain this performance at 10 kpc distance and above, indicating that overall target mass is the main factor for such a detector's discrimination capabilities. Finally, it is estimated that the detector design can provide early warning capability for supernova bursts for the entire Milky Way in all configurations., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures, 7 tables. Abstract: Cosmic-ray muons that enter the Super-Kamiokande detector cause hadronic showers due to spallation in water, producing neutrons and radioactive isotopes. Those are a major background source for studies of MeV-scale neutrinos and searches for rare events. Since 2020, gadolinium was introduced in the ultra-pure water in the Super-Kamiokande detector to improve the detection efficiency of neutrons. In this study, the cosmogenic neutron yield was measured using data acquired during the period after the gadolinium loading. Abstract: Abstract Background and objectives: Anaerobic microorganisms, particularly bacteroides play an important role in causing Pulp and preapical diseases that lead to chronic abscess. we aimed at studying anaerobie infections in necrotic teeth having Acute and chronic clinical symptoms. Material and Methods: We examined 28 necrotic teeth of 28 patients for the purpose of anaerobic culture fifteen cases with acute clinical symptoms and 13 ones with chronic clinical symptoms. In total 38 root canals from 28 teeth were subjected for examination and sampling. The samples were cultured on thioglycolate medium, sent to laboratory and tested in anaerobic condition for identification of bacteria. Results: The results indicate that 76% of isolated bacteria from necrotic canals obligate anaerobes and 24% are facultative anaerobes. The most common isolated microorganisms are peptostreptococci, fusobacterium and bacteroides. Conclusion: These results are in agreement with the results of other researchers and it has been determined that bacteroids play an important role in destroying the necrotic teethchr('39')s bone. Anaerobic bacteria causing dental infactions are less identified and diagnosed, therefore, dentist and clinical lab should take this into account. Abstract: One of the most important problems in tablet process is to control the flow of the catalyst through the hopper; Controlling the flow can be done either by changing the size of particles or added the different lubricant (stearic acid, starch, graphite) or blending of different lubricants. The study showed that we can control (increase or decrease) on the flow of the catalyst through the hopper by blending different lubricants for the constant percentage. The flow increasing when particles size (0.6 mm) and then decrease with or without lubricants, no effect on flow when particles size lower than (0.2 mm) with use that lubricants, and good flow on (0.4 mm) when use stearic acid and starch.

Abstract: Neutrinos associated with solar flares (solar-flare neutrinos) provide information on particle acceleration mechanisms during the impulsive phase of solar flares. We searched using the Super-Kamiokande detector for neutrinos from solar flares that occurred during solar cycles $23$ and $24$, including the largest solar flare (X28.0) on November 4th, 2003. In order to minimize the background rate we searched for neutrino interactions within narrow time windows coincident with $\gamma$-rays and soft X-rays recorded by satellites. In addition, we performed the first attempt to search for solar-flare neutrinos from solar flares on the invisible side of the Sun by using the emission time of coronal mass ejections (CMEs). By selecting twenty powerful solar flares above X5.0 on the visible side and eight CMEs whose emission speed exceeds $2000$ $\mathrm{km \, s^{-1}}$ on the invisible side from 1996 to 2018, we found two (six) neutrino events coincident with solar flares occurring on the visible (invisible) side of the Sun, with a typical background rate of $0.10$ ($0.62$) events per flare in the MeV-GeV energy range. No significant solar-flare neutrino signal above the estimated background rate was observed. As a result we set the following upper limit on neutrino fluence at the Earth $\mathit{\Phi}<1.1\times10^{6}$ $\mathrm{cm^{-2}}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level for the largest solar flare. Abstract: We report a search for cosmic-ray boosted dark matter with protons using the 0.37 megaton$\times$years data collected at Super-Kamiokande experiment during the 1996-2018 period (SKI-IV phase). We searched for an excess of proton recoils above the atmospheric neutrino background from the vicinity of the Galactic Center. No such excess is observed, and limits are calculated for two reference models of dark matter with either a constant interaction cross-section or through a scalar mediator. This is the first experimental search for boosted dark matter with hadrons using directional information. The results present the most stringent limits on cosmic-ray boosted dark matter and exclude the dark matter-nucleon elastic scattering cross-section between $10^{-33}\text{ cm}^{2}$ and $10^{-27}\text{ cm}^{2}$ for dark matter mass from 10 MeV/$c^2$ to 1 GeV/$c^2$., Comment: With 1-page appendix. Abstract: We present the development of neutron-tagging techniques in Super-Kamiokande IV using a neural network analysis. The detection efficiency of neutron capture on hydrogen is estimated to be 26%, with a mis-tag rate of 0.016 per neutrino event. The uncertainty of the tagging efficiency is estimated to be 9.0%. Measurement of the tagging efficiency with data from an Americium-Beryllium calibration agrees with this value within 10%. The tagging procedure was performed on 3,244.4 days of SK-IV atmospheric neutrino data, identifying 18,091 neutrons in 26,473 neutrino events. The fitted neutron capture lifetime was measured as 218 \pm 9 \mu s.

39. Pharmacologic Prophylaxis and Treatment of Venous Thromboembolism after Knee Arthroplasty

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of unfractionated heparin, warfarin and low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) used for the prevention of venous thromboembolism in arthroplastic surgery of the knee joint. Methods: In this prospective study from August 2002 to November 2004, 60 patients were included and divided into three groups with equal numbers, with each group receiving different treatment protocol. Postoperatively, the occurrence of symptomatic deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) was recorded during the first 30 days after surgery and at a routine follow-up visit. Results: A significantly lower prevalence of DVT and PE was found in patients using warfarin and LMWH as prophylaxis in comparison with patients using unfractionated heparin. Conclusion: Warfarin and low molecular weight heparins are more beneficial and effective than unfractionated heparin for DVT and PE prophylaxis in arthroplastic knee surgeries.

Abstract: In this work, we investigate an approach to scale up the output pulse energy in an all polarization-maintaining 17 MHz Yb-doped fiber oscillator via implementation of 25 um core-diameter large-mode-area fibers. The artificial saturable absorber in form of a Kerr-type self-stabilized fiber-interferometer enables highly stable mode-locked steady-states in the soliton-like operation regime with 170 mW average output power and a total output pulse energy of ~10 nJ distributed between two output ports. An experimental parameter comparison with a reference oscillator made of 5.5 um core-sized standard fiber-components reveals an increase of pulse energy by a factor of 36 with simultaneously reduced intensity-noise in the high frequency range > 100 kHz.

Abstract: The T2K experiment widely uses plastic scintillator as a target for neutrino interactions and an active medium for the measurement of charged particles produced in neutrino interactions at its near detector complex. Over 10 years of operation the measured light yield recorded by the scintillator based subsystems has been observed to degrade by 0.9--2.2\% per year. Extrapolation of the degradation rate through to 2040 indicates the recorded light yield should remain above the lower threshold used by the current reconstruction algorithms for all subsystems. This will allow the near detectors to continue contributing to important physics measurements during the T2K-II and Hyper-Kamiokande eras. Additionally, work to disentangle the degradation of the plastic scintillator and wavelength shifting fibres shows that the reduction in light yield can be attributed to the ageing of the plastic scintillator., Comment: 29 pages, 18 figures. Abstract: Super-Kamiokande has been searching for neutrino bursts characteristic of core-collapse supernovae continuously, in real time, since the start of operations in 1996. The present work focuses on detecting more distant supernovae whose event rate may be too small to trigger in real time, but may be identified using an offline approach. The analysis of data collected from 2008 to 2018 found no evidence of distant supernovae bursts. This establishes an upper limit of 0.29 year$^{-1}$ on the rate of core-collapse supernovae out to 100 kpc at 90% C.L.. For supernovae that fail to explode and collapse directly to black holes the limit reaches to 300 kpc.

44. Greenhouse Gas Emission Estimation for Selected Crops and Rice Cultivation in Urban and Non-Urban Areas of Sarawak

Abstract: This study presents an updated estimation of annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission from crop and rice cultivations from year 2008 to 2012 in Sarawak. This includes GHG estimation from rice cultivations, biomass and soils organic. The estimation of GHG emission in this study is conducted in accordance to 2006 IPCC guidelines for Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector, where uncertainty analyses are incorporated. This study also presents findings at urban and non-urban areas of Sarawak and its comparisons. It is found that, the change in biomass for both urban and non-urban areas in Sarawak increases yearly with significant changes in biomass at urban areas at 160.29×103 tons C yr−1 as compared to non-urban areas at 45.90×103 tons C yr−1. It is also found that, the annual carbon loss from cultivated organic soil at urban areas is higher at 6.17×106 tons C yr−1 in Miri. Total CH4 emission from wet paddy in non-urban areas is found to be higher than urban areas at 19.01 Gg CH4 yr−1. This study would unable relevant authorities to use the values of GHG emission estimated in this study for the purpose of analysis on vulnerability, adaption and mitigation.

Abstract: In 2020, the Super-Kamiokande (SK) experiment moved to a new stage (SK-Gd) in which gadolinium (Gd) sulfate octahydrate was added to the water in the detector, enhancing the efficiency to detect thermal neutrons and consequently improving the sensitivity to low energy electron anti-neutrinos from inverse beta decay (IBD) interactions. SK-Gd has the potential to provide early alerts of incipient core-collapse supernovae through detection of electron anti-neutrinos from thermal and nuclear processes responsible for the cooling of massive stars before the gravitational collapse of their cores. These pre-supernova neutrinos emitted during the silicon burning phase can exceed the energy threshold for IBD reactions. We present the sensitivity of SK-Gd to pre-supernova stars and the techniques used for the development of a pre-supernova alarm based on the detection of these neutrinos in SK, as well as prospects for future SK-Gd phases with higher concentrations of Gd. Abstract: Non-Standard Interactions (NSI) between neutrinos and matter affect the neutrino flavor oscillations. Due to the high matter density in the core of the Sun, solar neutrinos are suited to probe these interactions. Using the $277$ kton-yr exposure of Super-Kamiokande to $^{8}$B solar neutrinos, we search for the presence of NSI. Our data favors the presence of NSI with down quarks at 1.8$\sigma$, and with up quarks at 1.6$\sigma$, with the best fit NSI parameters being ($\epsilon_{11}^{d},\epsilon_{12}^{d}$) = (-3.3, -3.1) for $d$-quarks and ($\epsilon_{11}^{u},\epsilon_{12}^{u}$) = (-2.5, -3.1) for $u$-quarks. Abstract: The High Energy Physics community can benefit from a natural synergy in research activities into next-generation large-scale water and scintillator neutrino detectors, now being studied for remote reactor monitoring, discovery and exclusion applications in cooperative nonproliferation contexts. Since approximately 2010, US nonproliferation researchers, supported by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), have been studying a range of possible applications of relatively large (100 ton) to very large (hundreds of kiloton) water and scintillator neutrino detectors. In parallel, the fundamental physics community has been developing detectors at similar scales and with similar design features for a range of high-priority physics topics, primarily in fundamental neutrino physics. These topics include neutrino oscillation studies at beams and reactors, solar, and geological neutrino measurements, supernova studies, and others. Examples of ongoing synergistic work at U.S. national laboratories and universities include prototype gadolinium-doped water and water-based and opaque scintillator test-beds and demonstrators, extensive testing and industry partnerships related to large area fast position-sensitive photomultiplier tubes, and the development of concepts for a possible underground kiloton-scale water-based detector for reactor monitoring and technology demonstrations. Some opportunities for engagement between the two communities include bi-annual Applied Antineutrino Physics conferences, collaboration with U.S. National Laboratories engaging in this research, and occasional NNSA funding opportunities supporting a blend of nonproliferation and basic science R&D, directed at the U.S. academic community., Comment: contribution to Snowmass 2021

Abstract: Radioactivity induced by cosmic muon spallation is a dominant source of backgrounds for $\mathcal{O}(10)~$MeV neutrino interactions in water Cherenkov detectors. In particular, it is crucial to reduce backgrounds to measure the solar neutrino spectrum and find neutrino interactions from distant supernovae. In this paper we introduce new techniques to locate muon-induced hadronic showers and efficiently reject spallation backgrounds. Applying these techniques to the solar neutrino analysis with an exposure of $2790\times22.5$~kton.day increases the signal efficiency by $12.6\%$, approximately corresponding to an additional year of detector running. Furthermore, we present the first spallation simulation at SK, where we model hadronic interactions using FLUKA. The agreement between the isotope yields and shower pattern in this simulation and in the data gives confidence in the accuracy of this simulation, and thus opens the door to use it to optimize muon spallation removal in new data with gadolinium-enhanced neutron capture detection.

Abstract: A new search for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB) flux has been conducted at Super-Kamiokande (SK), with a $22.5\times2970$-kton$\cdot$day exposure from its fourth operational phase IV. The new analysis improves on the existing background reduction techniques and systematic uncertainties and takes advantage of an improved neutron tagging algorithm to lower the energy threshold compared to the previous phases of SK. This allows for setting the world's most stringent upper limit on the extraterrestrial $\bar{\nu}_e$ flux, for neutrino energies below 31.3 MeV. The SK-IV results are combined with the ones from the first three phases of SK to perform a joint analysis using $22.5\times5823$ kton$\cdot$days of data. This analysis has the world's best sensitivity to the DSNB $\bar{\nu}_e$ flux, comparable to the predictions from various models. For neutrino energies larger than 17.3 MeV, the new combined $90\%$ C.L. upper limits on the DSNB $\bar{\nu}_e$ flux lie around $2.7$ cm$^{-2}$$\cdot$$\text{sec}^{-1}$, strongly disfavoring the most optimistic predictions.
