1. Self-Reported Health and Behavioral Problems among Adolescent Victims of Rape in France: Results of a Cross-Sectional Survey.

Abstract

Comparison of 61 self-identified rape victims in France with 122 nonvictims found a prevalence rate of rape of 0.9% for girls, 0.6% for boys and a relationship between rape and current sleep difficulties, depressive symptoms, somatic complaints, tobacco consumption, and behavior problems. Additional problems for male victims included attempted suicide and substance abuse. (DB)

Abstract

An epidemiological study of adolescents aged 12 to 19 regarding their eating habits showed that binge eaters (BE) possess irregular eating habits such as avoiding meals, eating snacks and sweets, and lacking a balanced diet. They also feel too fat and are more prone to depression than the non-binge eaters (NBE).

The second chapter provides an introduction to fundamental ideas in Neuroscience and connects them to possible concepts and concerns within Rhetoric and Composition, raising questions for future consideration.
