- Abstract
Aim: To identify the results of a commu-nity action training activity on participants’ knowledge, as well as identifying motiva-tions for training, knowledge acquired, and the detection of new training needs. Methodology: Descriptive study using anonymous self-administered questionnai-res addressed to primary and community healthcare professionals in Catalonia. Results: 92% of the participants were women, nurses (30.7%) and psychologists (51.3%). Prior to training, knowledge of community action (4.9 points (2.2), commu-nity participation (5.0 points (2.0) and health assets (5.6 points (2.1)) were scored. At the end of the training the scores were: com-munity action (6.7 points (1.4), community participation (6.4 points (1.8) and health assets (6.8 points (1.6). The main motiva-tions for taking the training were to increase knowledge in community action and to ne-twork with community agents. The following were identified as lessons learned: the need to broaden the understanding of communi-ty action and to acquire resources and parti-cipatory dynamics. The new training needs were related to methodological aspects of community health intervention evaluation and participation strategies. Conclusions: Training has a positive effect on knowledge of community action, community participation and health assets. The motivations for training are to acquire resources in community action and to ne-twork with community agents, and learning is related to resources to promote commu-nity participation.

The Sense of Coherence (SOC) of Antonowsky (1996) which is based on salutogenic theory and the multifactor Positive Mental Health (PMH) model of Lluch (1999) provide two constructs for comprehending, evaluating, and intervening in the promotion and maintenance of a good state of mental health. AIM: Were assessed self-rated mental health of health professionals working in mental health services and relations between both constructs and sociodemographic, work, and health variables. METHODS: The sample was made up of n=102 attending professionals at the mental health units of the Parc Hospitalari Martí i Julià, in Salt, Girona. The variables studied were sociodemographic work-related, health-related, and self-perception of mental health, evaluated by means of the Sense of Coherence questionnaire and the Positive Mental Health questionnaire. The questionnaires were self-administered. RESULTS: Overall, the sample studied scored high in the Sense of Coherence and the Positive Mental Health questionnaires. In terms of the relation between the overall scores of the SOC questionnaire and the PMH, analysis revealed a positive relation between the two. CONCLUSIONS: This positive relation between the two questionnaires may be of particular interest in future studies of the multifactor model of Positive Mental Health and the salutogenic model that underlies the Sense of Coherence, by generating a global conceptual framework for the study of mental health from a positive perspective O sentido de coerência de Antonowsky (1996) surge a partir do modelo salutogênico e do modelo multifatorial de Saúde Mental Positivo (SMP) Lluch (1999), que de"ne dois constructos que servem para compreender, avaliar e intervir sobre a promoção e a manutenção de um bom estado de saúde mental.

Once nursing students complete their undergraduate studies, they will enter the job market, where they will face difficult situations such as: communicating bad news, pain, death, stress, etc., i.e situations of high emotional impact. For this reason, during the degree, it’s very important that students have worked on cons- tructs such as Emotional Intelligence and Resilience, considered positive faculty tools to deal with adverse situations. Emotional Intelligence is known as one of the skills to effectively cope with situations of high emotional impact and Resili- ence has been shown to have a positive impact on the Nursing profession in order to overcome adversity and becoming stronger and more resilient during the experience. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the knowledge and levels of students in the 4th year of the Nursing Degree of the University of Girona on Emotional Inte- lligence and Resilience. In other words, to see if they are sufficiently prepared to offer a good accompaniment during illness, mourning, sadness, suffering, etc .; to see if they are capable of managing their own emotions and consequently those of others and at the same time are becoming more resilient towards the harsh experiences of nursing work. Finally, these two concepts are related. The methodology is carried out with a quantitative, descriptive, univariate and bivariate analysis study on nursing students in their 4th year at the University of Girona. For the statistical analysis and obtaining of results, the SPSS v20 pro- gram has been used. The results obtained in this study will help detect needs related to the training and learning of nursing students and the lack of resources to deal with situations of high emotional impact and adversity during the Nursing profession

Background: Palliative care and dignity at patients’ end-of-life are nursing competences. Many therapies and guides have been developed to assure the preservation of dignity in patients with life-threatening illnesses and in the last stages of these ones. In 2002, Harvey Max Chochinov developed the Dignity Therapy with the aim of promoting end-of-life dignity. Aim: Analyse the effectiveness of Dignity Therapy on the improvement of patients with advanced life-threatening diseases and establish if its use in the clinical practice should be recommended. The specific objectives are: analyse the effectiveness of Dignity Therapy to improve psychological distress, anxiety, depression and psychological fatigue; analyse its effectiveness in improving physical distress and symptomatology; know the effectiveness of Dignity Therapy to increase the palliative patient’s sense of dignity; analyse the benefits of Dignity therapy in the treatment of psychosocial and existential distress; and assess the feasibility of Dignity Therapy focusing on both patients and family relatives acceptability and satisfaction. Methodology: Conduction of a bibliographic review. PUBMED, COCHRANE, CINAHL and CUIDEN databases were queried during the first half month of March 2019. The selection of articles was limited to the use of Dignity Therapy in adult patients admitted to palliative care units with the sufficient physical and mental capacity to undergo the intervention. Data extracted was synthesised and analysed following the study objectives. Results: Fourteen papers encountered the selection criteria and were assessed for eligibility. The results obtained demonstrate that the Dignity Therapy is an effective instrument for the treatment and improvement of patients with life-limiting illnesses especially in the last stages of it. Therefore, its use in palliative care is recommended. Results on psychological distress lead to controversial conclusions. Four studies suggested benefits on physical distress. The overall light turns out to be positive in terms of sense of dignity, psychosocial distress and existential distress. Finally, in terms of feasibility, both patient and family’s opinion in relation to acceptability and satisfaction have been found to be positive. Conclusion: The results found throughout this review conclude firmly and affirm Dignity Therapy’s effectiveness in terms of patients’ dignity and consequently overall status. In palliative care settings, where de defence and preservation of patients’ dignity is an undeniable obligation, patients could clearly benefit from Dignity Therapy. Dignity Therapy has demonstrate to be a useful instrument for patients to solve, close or clear out their personal believes and questionable issues before leaving. This paper emerges a positive light for future research and the application of the Dignity Therapy in palliative care settings

The diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has increased a 17% in all the regions of the world. This pathology has a big impact on children’s development, his families, the communities and the society. Although the word autism has been used for more than 100 years, after more than a half century of its medical classification and the increase of research about this disorder, it is still very unknown. ASD are alterations of the neurodevelopment that are characterized of an affectation in the communication capacities and social interaction, the presence of a pattern of repetitive behaviors, rigidity of thought and a deregulation of the sensory profile of the affected person. The aim of this study is to value the knowledges that the primary care nursing professionals have about the concept of ASD. It also pretends to announce the importance of a precious detection and the need of empowering the nursing professionals in the detection of ASD in the population that they attend to. The methodology will be carried out from a study of qualitative and quantitative analyses, descriptive and transversal. The study sample will be nursing professionals of the basic areas of the Sanitary Region of Girona that are part of the Catalan Institute of the Health. A descriptive analysis for the quantitative variables through the statistical package SPSS version 22.0. will be done. For the qualitative analysis the support of the program Atlas-ti will be used. The results obtained from this study will help us to know the formative needs of primary care nursing professionals in relation to the detection of the ASD in among children
