Promoting the competitiveness of China’s agricultural industry is crucial for building China into a great modern country. The aggravation of agricultural external risks and the basic national conditions—smallholder farmers, resource shortage, and tight balance of agricultural products supply and demand—propose new requirements and challenges to the competitiveness of China’s agricultural industry. It becomes urgent to redefine the competitiveness of agricultural industry and propose a corresponding strategic framework for the new development stage. In this study, we propose a new concept of agricultural industry competitiveness labeled as safe and diversified, green and efficient, core control, and independent competition. Moreover, we establish a competitiveness evaluation index system for the agricultural industry considering three core components: security assurance, industrial control, and market competitiveness; we evaluate the competitiveness of China’s agricultural industry using this system to explore the weaknesses of the industry. Furthermore, we propose competitiveness upgrade paths and countermeasures for China’s agricultural industry at the new stage. Specifically, China should ensure a stable supply of important agricultural products, expand the value-added space of its agricultural industry, promote the modernization of agricultural operation and services, encourage international cooperation, and give priority to the development of agricultural science and technologies.

As one of the characteristic crop industries in Beijing, the high-quality development of watermelon is important for promoting the revitalization of rural industries, achieving wealth and income increase. In order to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth study of the current development status of the entire chain of Beijing's watermelon industry, the systematic analysis has been conducted from the aspects of production scale, variety structure, facility cultivation, green development, brand construction, circulation mode, market price, etc. In addition, problems such as increasing external risk factors, urgent breakthroughs in core technologies, imbalance in labor supply and demand, difficulty in implementing supporting policies, and incomplete development of industrial chains was analyzed. The following countermeasures and suggestions was proposed: strengthening technology investment support, comprehensively attracting rural talents, promoting land transfer and moderate scale operation, promoting the integration and improvement of the "three chains", and improving precise support policies for the entire chain, in order to promote the upgrading and high-quality development of the Beijing watermelon industry throughout the entire chain. In this article, the strategy of co-doping Mn2+ ions with W6+ ions is used to improve the comprehensive dielectric performances of TiO2 ceramics. According to the analysis of XRD results, a pure TiO2 phase with a rutile structure can be found throughout the whole substitution range (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.02). Based on the refinement method, it is noted that the tetragonality firstly increase for 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.005, and then decreases for x > 0.005. A slight blue shift is observed for the A1g mode, whereas the Eg mode shows a red shift. The permittivity is highly dependent on the relative density, fc of Ti/(Mn0.5W0.5)-O1(1) and Ti/(Mn0.5W0.5)-O1(2) bond and Afc. The variation of quality factor strongly relies on the relative density, changing c/a value and valence state of Ti. The increase of c/a and elimination of Ti3+ contribute to the significant improvement of Q × f from 947 to 39,000 GHz. The τf dramatically decreases from 520 to 398 ppm/ºC because of the increase of unit cell volume. The excellent dielectric performance of Ti1-x(Mn0.5W0.5)xO2 ceramics can be achieved at x = 0.005 with εr = 105, Q × f = 39,000 GHz and τf = 464.4 ppm/ºC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The impact of climate warming on world agricultural production and food security has become increasingly obvious. As an important source of carbon emissions and the carbon sink system, the green development of agriculture is one of the important ways to alleviate the crisis and achieve China' s goals of reaching peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality. Exploiting the potential of agricultural carbon sinks and accurately calculating agricultural net carbon emissions are of great significance to promoting the green development of agriculture meeting the ' dual carbon' goals. Based on the dual characteristics of the agricultural carbon cycle, this paper sorted out the logical relationship between agricultural green development and the agricultural carbon cycle, incorporated the role of agricultural carbon sinks into the calculation framework of agricultural carbon emissions, and measured China' s agricultural net carbon emissions from 2000 to 2019 by time and region. The decoupling model of agricultural net carbon emissions from agricultural economic growth was constructed. The results of the study found that the total amount of carbon emissions from agricultural sources increased from 277.899 million t in 2000 to 308.383 1 million t in 2019, with an average annual growth rate of 0.52%, but the agricultural carbon emission intensity showed a trend of continuous decline; the agricultural carbon sink increased from 99.539 9 million t in 2000 to 133.039 million t in 2019, with an average annual growth rate of 1.46%, and the agricultural carbon sink resources were considerable. The intensity of agricultural carbon source emissions was higher in the west than in other regions and there was a clear gap with the eastern region. The total amount of agricultural carbon source emissions, carbon sinks, and net carbon emissions all showed a medium-high pattern. The decoupling relationship between agricultural economic growth and agricultural net carbon emissions was mainly manifested in two decoupling states: strong decoupling and weak decoupling. Nearly 50% of the provinces achieved the ideal strong decoupling state in terms of agricultural green development, while the remaining provinces were in a weak decoupling state, and the decoupling state was generally ideal. Finally, this paper puts forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions to promote the green development of agriculture and help achieve the ' dual carbon' goals: we should accurately locate the carbon source; ensure the ' double bottom line' of food security and pig production capacity under low-carbon agriculture; resolve the resource endowment differences between regions; explore the potential of the agricultural carbon trading market; create a new path for farmers to increase their income, maintain the strong and improve the weak; and strive to achieve the ' package' of strong decoupling in agriculture to help achieve the ' dual carbon' goals.
