The protection of the Natura 2000 species Cucujus cinnaberinus (Scopoli, 1774), protected by Romanian and European legislation, requires knowledge of distribution, threats and conservation status. In Romania the species is protected in only 9 Natura 2000 areas of the 442 SCI declared until 2021. All the protected areas in which the species is mentioned are located along the Carpathian Arch except ROSCI0135 Pădurea Bârnova – Repedea located in the Central Moldavian Plateau. The identification of the species in ROSCI0045 Coridorul Jiului brings new data about the distribution of the species and its conservation status. Observations on the species in larval stage were made by direct searches in specific habitats in the protected area. In the months of May, August and September 2022, Cucujus cinnaberinus was identified in several points along the protected area: Dăbuleni on poplar wood in the Danube River meadow, Foișor on poplar wood in the Jiului meadow, Bratovoești in ploplar wood of the former channels of the meanders Jiului River, Calopăr on ash wood from the Dâlga valley and Turburea on alder wood in the Gilortului meadow. The identification of Cucujus cinnaberinus Natura 2000 species requires further monitoring at the site and the implementation of appropriate protection and conservation measures.

The intensive abiotic activity, but not only that, has brought about the invasion of allochtone (non-native) species in the natural and semi-natural degraded ecosystems in our country. The invasive species influence the succesional dynamics and the floristic composition of the plant communities, occupying increasingly more and more space. Biological invasion of the invasive plants is considered to be one of the most serious threats to biodiversity in alluvial and meadow vegetation. The effects of the invasive alien plants, on the flora and plant communities structure of the alluvial and meadow vegetation were investigated at Copănița Island in the Danube Valley. The researched territory is part of the ROSCI0045 Coridorul Jiului Protected Area. In order to control the introduction and expansion of invasive plants, as well as the anthropogenic impact of these species on biodiversity, a number of measures for the protection and proper management of invasive plants in riparian areas need to be defined and implemented. In the researched area, 22 invasive species were identified, for some of them new locations were established for Romania or Oltenia. Several species were identified for the first time in Oltenia or a second location was identified for Romania, such as the Conyza sumatremsis. is found for the first time in Romania. The management is most effective when the invasion is detected early and comprehensive control measures are implemented quickly, any effect is thus limited. Therefore, early identification of the areas in which efforts should be concentrated (e.g. prevention, elimination and monitoring) is essential for cost-effective management. All the invasive species strongly affect biodiversity within natural habitats.

Observations carried out in May-September 2022 in CoridorulJiului, a Natura 2000 area located in the south-western part of Romania, highlighted 16 species of Cerambycidae beetles. The landscape, local climate and forest management impact the diversity and distribution of these species in the site. All species have been listed on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, of which, Cerambyx cerdo, Rosalia alpina and Morimus asper funereus are also included in the Natura 2000 network. Five species were recorded for the first time in this area. Furthermore, another species noted, Isotomus speciosus, is a rare species in many European countries. The saproxylic character of these beetles makes them an essential participant within the forest ecosystem, which is why a responsible management of the forests in the Coridorul Jiului area is necessary to maintain the populations of these coleopterans on a stable trend.

To mitigate the negative effects of climate change on the environment, the Member States of the European Union implement fiscal measures and commit budgetary expenditures to ensure sustainable economic development. Romania, in line with the Union’s objectives, resorted to the application of a system of environmental taxes and provided in the budgetary policy government expenditures for environmental protection. The aim of the research is to highlight the effects of these measures on the environment by analysing the short-run and long-run causal relationships between greenhouse gas emissions, green taxes and government expenditures on environmental protection. Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method and Granger causality tests were used to demonstrate the existence of these relationships and the intensity with which they manifest. Following the analysis, we identified a significant long-run influence of government spending on environmental protection on greenhouse gas emissions but also numerous short-run and long-run causal relationships between greenhouse gas emissions and green taxes, applied in Romania. The results of the research consider the impact of public expenses for environment protection, a variable not yet applied for Romania, on greenhouse gas emissions’ decrease, in correlation with environmental taxes per source of origin.

The intercultural dimension of the human of the third millennium is determined by multiculturalism and has become a necessity in terms of a new attitude towards the others belonging to the worldwide and coming closer and closer to each individual. This dimension is most necessary in the case of teachers of nowadays who have the responsible mission to form personalities for the future. This paper work presents a synthesis of the theoretical fundaments of a complex research centred on intercultural education (IE) on academic level, followed by a brief presentation of an ameliorative research as one of the sequences of the investigative approach. Based on a previously ascertaining research done, this sequence involved the design and the implementation of a curriculum explicitly aiming to develop the components of the intercultural competence (IC). It represents the independent variable that is assumed as being a possible responsible of an obvious development of the intercultural competence for the selected experimental group, compared to a control group. The research design follows the necessary steps and the results are processed statistically and interpreted in the light of the fundamental theory and of a direct observation in the educational field. The paper intends to highlight an important issue: the specifics of adults' learning process nowadays, the dynamics of motivation for formal learning activities (within tertiary education and/ or lifelong learning), the difficulties of educators in relation to adults' learners, and the position of society versus this segment of permanent education. Based on a systematic observation along five academic years, it is stressed that, the stated conclusions are required to be verified by an in depth research. The paper announces the existence of such a research, whose results will be the topic of further papers. Some core aspects of this approach are presented. The paper has the explicit intention to emphasize a thorny contemporary problem, by pointing out some worrying aspects in adult education, which may have earlier roots in ontogenesis. The presentation intends to be an additional and serious pleading for considering education a genuine national and universal priority, by renouncing to the pretend this priority only in the official papers. The worsening of the presented aspects, within the conditions of a nebulous actuality is highlighted and, also the huge danger of the “time of to pretend” (meaning to mime a reality that does not exist as such) is explained.

The overall objective of this research was to contribute to a better knowledge of the phytosociology, ecology and distribution of the plant community formed by Myricaria germanica (false tamarisk) and the willow species Salix purpurea. This plant community has an important role in reducing the speed and strength of the water flow during floods. The description was based on cover‐abundance data for the faithful, dominant, characteristic and companion species of this plant community. A predominance of Myricaria germanica was observed when analysing the phytocoenoses, as the species finds in this area favourable ecological conditions for an abundant development. Salix purpurea presents a small abundance-dominance or in some phytocoenoses may even lack. The field research also revealed the excessive development of the species Calamagrostis pseudophragmites in some areas, related mostly with the effect of human activities. The anthropogenic disorders have induced modifications in the floristic physiognomy and compositions of the phytocoenoses, favouring also the invasion of opportunistic species such as Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Impatiens glandulifera, Phytolacca amearicana, Amorpha fruticosa, Erigeron annuus, which continuously extend in the studied territory. As Myricaria germanica and Salix purpurea phytocoenoses suffer a great decline throughout Europe, the habitat built by these species was declared of interest and was included in the Habitats Directive. ********* In press - Online First. This paper comes to add a new contribution to the same set of reflections about curriculum and the curriculum reform implications in the real life. The starting point is rooted in a day to day seen reality which must become a genuine concern for all the responsible educational factors all over the world. The methodology of teaching, as an essential structural element of the learning situation, the core issue of curriculum concept, is the focus of the analysis this time. The selected ideas of the paper come from an indepth and long-term observation of the educational practice of the author as a professor for future specialists in education and evaluator of teachers involved in the specific Romanian process of reaching the first degree in education. A number of dysfunctions and weaknesses of the educational practice are presented in the area of using the teaching methodology and some argued explanations are provided.

Our interest was focused on assessing the results of using metaphor as a teaching- assessing method centred on students’ learning effectiveness. A sample of 139 subjects’ results has been done. Findings of this study include: (a) the features of a defined studying situation model emerged; this model highlights the possibility to design effective studying situations that prove the potential of determining learning contexts able to stimulate an effective learning experience for each student as an individual implying the specifically shaped learning style: committed learning style (b) metaphor is proved as an effective didactic methods accepted and fructified by students.

Discussion and direct observation in schools developed over a significant period of time, a general study of the curriculum for religious education, ideas coming from teachers in different contexts, all related to a press event, were reasons to explicitly trigger our attention on how to make religious education in the schools of Romania. We organized structured observation and discussion in urban and rural schools and we had the opportunity to involve 174 teachers enrolled in an in –service training within a study of religious education approach in the schools of Romania. This investigation was based on a questionnaire - and focus groups. The teachers’ sample represented different specialties from different school levels and different ranges of teaching experience. They belonged to three counties in central and south-eastern Romania. Conclusions of this study highlight the importance and the ticklish trait of religious education. Religious education appears as important dimension/component of education with important effects on the moral health of the nation, and as a factor of influence of human wellbeing. The paper presents core ideas revealed by the mentioned study.

This paper examines the issue of immigration in relation to presenting issues at the start of this millennium. This involves an analysis of the relation between acculturation, transculturation, enculturation and inculturation as an adaptation of immigrants to an inter-cultural context. The complex process of “psychological landing” in a new world in which the accepted cultural model is the salad bowl model, is analyzed from the perspective of immigrants to Canada.The paper highlights the factors that determine successful cultural and social adaptation process as the basis of support that could contribute to its success, and ultimately to the achievement of the well -being of any society that opens its gates to immigrants.

Bologna process wanted to determine a global higher education system reform in many European countries. This reform involves a structural change and an in depth curriculum reform as well. A curricular vision means to focus on competencies the entire process of curriculum design. A new strategy of psychologists’ initial training was considered. Three learning practices were presented. A special questionnaire was applied to 72 students, aiming to evaluate their opinion regarding the formative effect of these methods. The results of this analysis demonstrate that these methods succeeded to develop the students’ autonomy and responsibility in learning.

This paper is focused on presenting curriculum as a core issue of any educational reform, and as a very controversial concept. Two core concepts are underlined within curriculum definitions: learning situation and learning experience and their complementary relation is analyzed. The pyramidal model of curriculum is explained as a new approach. All this presentation aims to present a point of view about the thorny issue of curriculum and it tries to synthetically put together different approaches of the topic in modern and post-modern society. The necessity to rethink and enlarge the competence concept represents a conclusion which could be the basis of a further more detailed analysis of the curriculum development.

Rosa canina ( wild rose, bush , bramble ) is a shrub commonly encountered in the wild flora of Romania , spread from the coast up to altitudes of 1200 m ( 1700), with low requirements to pedoclimatic factors . From this species are used the false- fruits ( Cynosbati fructus ) mature , dried, harvested from wild flora or cultures , with food and therapeutic importance , due to their multiple properties , but mostly because of its high content of vitamin C. In this way, it was studied the germoplasm existent in some areas of Oltenia ( Romania) to identify biochemically and technology valuable biotypes from biochemically and technologically point of view. The results indicate a high and very high variability in the biochemical and technological parameters a nalyzed . Thus, t he content of TSS was recorded b etween 10 % ( B2) and 18 % ( M1), the vitamin C was over 560 mg / 100g to populations S1 ​​, S3 and the acidity in was 1.4 to 3.6%. Recorded values ​​for the mass of 100 fruit -technological and economically significant , were between 117g (A1 ) and 286g (B3 and T4) and the percentage of pulp/100g fruit ranged from 49.2 (M1 ) and 66.5 (T1) .

An unresolved debate about possibilities for the pre-service training of politicians but an emphasized necessity of an effective professional training for public administration are bases for our research focused on finding solutions for an efficient development of a so called committed learning style over onto-genesis process. Our work analyzed 200 students over several academic years revealing eight core traits of this studying style within an effective learning environment with a significant impa ct on developing competencies useful for a further activity within political or public administration areas.

Curriculum reform involves important strategic and tactical aspects. Educational policy and its strategies are products of professionals in policy and education fields. They are subsequently realized in tactical steps implemented by other types of professionals. Learners from different generations are the human targets of curriculum reform and the. Success of educational and curricular reform worldwide appears to be overwhelmingly determined by the human factor. As a consequence we focus our attention on the way in which human resources are used within educational and curricular reform and describe the philosophy which regulates our work in this field. A clear image of the whole of curriculum reform is presented, defining steps which are functionally connected within the curriculum reform process, along with the responsibilities of responsible specified teams.
