The attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has a complex etiology, involving the interaction between biological, genetic, and environmental factors. The ADHD pathophysiology remains unknown even though there are hypotheses that inflammatory, hormonal, oxidative and neurotrophic factors are associated. This clinical trial aims to evaluate the contribution of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), inflammatory and oxidative levels before and after 12 and 24 weeks of methylphenidate use.MethodsPatients will be screened upon their entry into Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Teaching Outpatient Clinic of the Medical Course at the Federal University of Viçosa in Minas Gerais, Brazil. One hundred and fifty ADHD treatment-naïve children of both sexes, between 6–14 years old, will be invited to participate, after the ADHD diagnosis by an experienced psychiatrist and the child fulfilling the inclusion criteria. Children and their caregivers will answer questionnaires regarding mental health and the children will undergo neuropsychological tests, physical, nutritional and activity assessment, in addition to blood sampling at baseline, 12 and 24 weeks of methylphenidate use respectively.DiscussionThis clinical trial intends to verify how the pharmacological treatment changes the plasma BDNF, inflammatory and oxidative levels in treatment-naïve Brazilian children diagnosed for ADHD.Trial RegistrationSubmitted for registration on Brazilian Registry of Clinical Trials (ReBEC). Objetivo: O estudo avaliou a adesão ao tratamento farmacológico de crianças atendidas em ambulatório especializado de psiquiatria infantil, no interior de Minas Gerais/Brasil. Métodos: O estudo descritivo/exploratório teve a amostra definida por conveniência temporal. Os dados foram coletados de outubro/2020 a março/2022. Os questionários semi-estruturados para identificar perfil sociodemográfico e avaliar os sintomas psiquiátricos nos cuidadores foram aplicados na primeira consulta (pré-tratamento farmacológico) e demais instrumentos, para verificação da adesão medicamentosa, foram aplicados 4 e 8 semanas após o início do uso do metilfenidato, respeitando os aspectos éticos envolvidos em uma pesquisa. Resultados: Dos 54 participantes da pesquisa 55,6% eram do sexo masculino, 71,4% tinham entre 6 a 9 anos, (a maioria de Viçosa-MG), havendo predominância de mães como cuidadora principal. O método MAT foi aplicado a 33 pacientes após 4 semanas com 96,96% de adesão e a 23 pacientes com 8 semanas apresentando 95,65% de adesão. Conclusão: O tamanho amostral se mostrou limitado não possibilitando uma análise estatística significativa. Sugere-se um estudo mais amplo para avaliação mais profunda da adesão medicamentosa do metilfenidato.

Resumo O uso abusivo de substâncias psicoativas é um problema para a saúde em todo o mundo, pois possui ampla magnitude, na infância e na vida adulta. O objetivo deste artigo é compreender os sentimentos e as percepções dos familiares sobre a rede de apoio, cuidado e tratamento dos filhos usuários de crack e outras drogas acompanhados em um centro de referência. Como trajetória metodológica, foi utilizada a pesquisa qualitativa, com dados coletados e analisados à luz do referencial da Fenomenologia. A pesquisa foi realizada no CERSAMi de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Foram entrevistados 11 participantes, sendo a saturação o critério de finalização. A análise foi fundamentada em três etapas: a descrição, a redução e a compreensão fenomenológica. Os resultados evidenciaram categorias, cada qual, com seus temas de análise ou subcategorias. Como proposta para o trabalho, a fundamentação, a apresentação e a discussão estão fundamentadas na categoria: Sentimentos e percepções dos familiares em relação à rede de apoio, ao cuidado e ao tratamento. No encontro com os sujeitos e na imersão das falas, evidenciam-se momentos que fragilizam a estrutura da família. Na realidade diária se estabelece um futuro de incertezas em relação ao cuidado, ao apoio e à reabilitação dos filhos. Abstract The abuse of psychoactive drugs is a health problem throughout the entire world, as its magnitude pervades childhood and adult life. The objective of this article is to understand the feelings and perceptions of family members regarding the support network, care and treatment of their offspring who use crack and associated drugs, in the context of a reference center for treatment. In line with methodological approach, qualitative research was used, with data collected and analyzed under the light of Phenomenology. The research was conducted at Belo Horizonte’s CERSAMi in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Eleven participants were interviewed, their participation being finalized at saturation point. The analysis was founded on three steps: description, reduction and phenomenological comprehension. Proposal for the work: the foundation, the presentation and the discussion are founded in the category Feelings and perceptions of family members in relation to the network for support, care and treatment. In the encounter with the subjects and during their immersion in discourse, moments which make family structure fragile are noticeable. In the day-to-day reality there becomes established a future of uncertainties in relation to the care, support and rehabilitation of the children.

Objectives: To investigate the effects of physical training on the liver morphology and morphometry after chronic use of alcohol in rats. Methods: Twenty-four Wistar rats were housed in cages with controlled environment and randomly divided into four groups according to treatment received. In the initial treatment, alcohol was administered to SA (sedentary alcohol) and EA (exercise alcohol) groups. After four weeks, physical training program was held on a treadmill with EA and EC (exercise control) groups. Area, perimeter, maximum and minimum diameter and form factor of nucleus and cytoplasm of hepatocytes were analyzed. Key findings: Micro-vesicular fatty degeneration, predominantly pericentrolobular, of mild to moderate intensity, was found especially in animals treated with alcohol. EC group showed nucleus area greater than the nucleus area of EA and SA groups. The form factor was lower in the EC group than in the EA group. EA group showed maximum cytoplasm diameter is smaller than in SC (sedentary control) group. Conclusions: Physical training for two weeks was not enough to suppress histopathologic changes in the liver caused by chronic use of alcohol in rats. Chronic use of alcohol seems to have minimized the beneficial effect of physical training in the nucleus area of hepatocytes.

RESUMO Objetivo: Compreender as repercussões do uso de drogas por um filho no ambiente familiar. Métodos: Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa com abordagem fenomenológica, com 11 pais e responsáveis de crianças e adolescentes usuários de crack e outras drogas acompanhados em um centro de referência. As entrevistas foram gravadas; e os dados, transcritos e analisados na perspectiva fenomenológica. Resultados: Após a descrição, redução e compreensão fenomenológica, os resultados e a discussão se fundamentaram na categoria. Compreendendo as repercussões do uso de drogas por crianças e adolescentes dentro das famílias. Discussão: A pesquisa possibilitou a compreensão de situações de fragilidades emocionais, comportamentais, socioeconômicas e relacionais do fenômeno uso de drogas por crianças e adolescentes e seus familiares, desvelando conflitos e fragilidades. Conclusão e implicações para a prática: O desenvolvimento de ações que atendam às necessidades individuais e coletivas contribui para o planejamento de ações intersetoriais que minimizem o sofrimento das famílias e dos filhos. Métodos: Se trata de una investigación cualitativa con abordaje fenomenológico, con 11 padres y responsables de niños y adolescentes usuarios de crack y otras drogas, acompañados en un centro de referencia. Las entrevistas fueron grabadas; y los datos, transcritos y analizados en la perspectiva fenomenológica. Resultados: Tras la descripción, reducción y comprensión fenomenológica, los resultados y la discusión se fundamentaron en la categoría: Comprendiendo las repercusiones de la utilización de drogas por niños y adolescentes dentro de las familias. Discusión: La investigación posibilitó comprender las situaciones de fragilidades emocionales, comportamentales, socioeconómicas y relacionales del fenómeno utilización de drogas por niños y adolescentes y sus familiares, desvelando conflictos y fragilidades. Conclusión e implicaciones para la práctica: El desarrollo de acciones que atiendan las necesidades individuales y colectivas contribuye para el planeamiento de acciones intersectoriales que minimicen el sufrimiento de las familias y de los hijos. ABSTRACT Objective: Understanding the impact of drug abuse by a child in the family environment. Methods: This is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach, with 11 parents and guardians of children and adolescents whom use crack and other drugs followed at a referral center. The interviews were recorded; and data, transcribed and analyzed on the phenomenological perspective. Results: After the phenomenological description, reduction and understanding, the results and discussion were based on the category "Understanding the impact of drug abuse by children and adolescents within families". Discussion: The research allowed us to understand situations of emotional frailties, behavioral, socioeconomic and relational phenomenon of drug abuse by children and adolescents and their families, revealing conflicts and weaknesses. Conclusion and implications for practice: The development of actions that meet individual and collective needs contributes to the planning of intersectoral actions to minimize the suffering of families and children.

A prevenção do uso de drogas deve ser estimulada e fortalecida. O objetivo do projeto é destacar o trabalho com gestantes visando o fortalecimento do vínculo seguro entre mãe e filho com vistas à prevenção ao uso de álcool e outras drogas. Trata-se de um relato de experiência, desenvolvido pelo PREVIDA, com gestantes vinculadas às Unidades de Saúde da Família do Município de Viçosa, MG. Foi realizado um book fotográfico em períodos da gravidez, com atividades que fortaleciam o vínculo da mãe e o filho. Como resultados, foram realizadas duas sessões fotográficas, sendo a primeira até o quarto mês de gestação e a segunda no oitavo. O potencial das atividades para fortalecimento do vínculo foi evidente. Mantendo os laços coesos, os riscos para a adoção de hábitos de vida impróprios podem ser reduzindo. No contexto da proposta, há redução dos riscos da mãe e do filho adentrarem ao mundo das drogas. The prevention of drugs consumption must be encouraged and improved. The purpose of the current paper is to highlight the work performed with pregnant women in order to support mother-infant bonding and prevent alcohol and drug abuse. It contains an experience report conducted by the team PREVIDA among pregnant women linked to Community Health Units in the county of Viçosa, MG. Photo shoots were performed in different moments of the women's pregnancy combined with activities that reinforced mother-infant connection. As a result, two photo shoots were performed. The first photo shoot was conducted in a photographic studio in the course of the first four months of pregnancy, whilst the second was made at the eighth month of pregnancy outdoors at the Federal University of Viçosa campus. These moments had great emotional impacts for both pregnant women and working team. Following the, photo shooting, the photos were delivered printed and digitally. The potential of these activities to improve mother-infant bonding is clear. By keeping this connection reinforced, the risks of adopting an unsuitable lifestyle might be reduced. Therefore, the chances for both mother and infant to get involved in drugs consumption are diminished. La prevención del uso de drogas debe fomentarse y reforzase. El presente artículo tiene con el objetivo destacar el trabajo con mujeres embarazadas objetivando el fortalecimiento del enlace seguro entre madres y sus hijos objetivando la prevención del uso de álcohol y outras drogas. Consiste en un informe de experiencia, desarrollado por el PREVIDA, con mujeres embarazadas de las Unidades de Salude de Familia de la Ciudad de Viçosa, MG. Fue hecho un álbum de fotos en tiempos del embarazo, con actividades que fortalecen el enlace de la madre con su hijo. A consecuencia, fueran hechas dos sesiones de fotos, siendo la primera hasta el cuarto mes de embarazo e el segundo en el octavo. El potencial de las actividades para el fortificación del enlace fue evidente. Las relaciones que se mantienen unidas, reducen los riscos para adoción de hábitos de vida no aptos. En lo contexto de la propuesta, hay redución de los riesgos de madre y su hijo entrar en lo mundo de las drogas.
