The EU funds are an important factor in the development process of any new member state of the European Union. As such, EU funds support modernization and help facilitate further economic development in a member state, including its rural regions. The Republic of Croatia, based on NUTS3 classification, is predominantly rural with 79.01% of its territory being rural and 56.07% of population living in rural areas. Therefore, rural development is an integral part of overall economic development of the country. In order to improve competitiveness of Croatian agriculture sector, especially its small family farms, it is crucial to invest in their means of production and modernization of their assets. Funds awarded within the EAFRD framework in The Republic of Croatia tend to facilitate this process and further aid rural development. Croatian Development Index has a very important role in allocation of before mentioned funds. Its values are taken as criteria for state-aided areas, scoring projects (including EAFRD and other EU funds applications) and other aspects of public development policies. As one of the primary goals of Rural Development Programme in the Republic of Croatia, it is especially important to achieve a more balanced territorial development of rural areas given the fact that Croatian rural regions (counties and municipalities) are not equally developed, ensuring job creation and job retention in the process. The existence of disparities in the level of development is not a characteristic that can be found only in the Republic of Croatia, but it is an issue that should be taken into account when devising or reconsidering criteria for allocation of future EU funds in the Republic of Croatia, in order to further reduce regional disparities in the level of development. The aim of this paper is to provide empirical evidence on associations between the indicators of Croatian Development Index and spatial distribution of EU funds awarded within the Rural Development programme in The Republic of Croatia based on available data for the most recent invitation to tender for EAFRD funds.

Javni gradski prijevoz uključuje različite vrste usluga koje omogućavaju mobilnost građanima i stanovnicima gradova, uključujući prijevoz autobusom, vlakom, podzemnom željeznicom, trajektima, taksijima i njihovim varijacijama. Javni gradski prijevoz, pored toga, može imati i vrlo važnu i jedinstvenu ulogu u učinkovitom sustavu javnog prometa tako da omogućuje cjenovno pristupačnu mobilnost građanima koji nisu vozači, tj. nudi efikasan način putovanja urbanim sredinama te često služi kao katalizator za promišljenije i bolje upravljanje javnim zemljištem u okviru javne prometne infrastrukture. U radu je dan kratak pregled javnog gradskog prijevoza grada Beča, u kojem se javnim prijevozom s lakoćom može stići do skoro bilo kojeg dijela, a koriste se nove tehnologije koje olakšavaju svakodnevno putovanje pojedinaca javnim gradskim prijevozom. U suvremenim gradovima promet je jedan od najvećih problema. Veliki gradovi previše su opterećeni zastojima u prometu, nedostatkom mjesta za parkiranje, onečišćenim zrakom, bukom te konfliktom motornih vozila i pješaka. Svi ovi problemi modernog doba u kojem prometna potražnja nadilazi prometnu ponudu ne dolaze do izražaja kada se karakterizira javni gradski prijevoz ovog europskog grada. Gradske vlasti i vodeće prometno poduzeće Wiener Linien ulažu velike napore u smanjenje onečišćenja i zagađenja okoliša prometom. Za poticanje korisnika u korištenju javnog prijevoza i smanjenju korištenja osobnih automobila, grad Beč nudi na prvom mjestu velike alternativne izbore kao što je korištenje gradskih bicikala i izgradnja velikog broja biciklističkih staza, kao i carsharing (dijeljenje automobila). Predmet istraživanja ovog rada jest istražiti i utvrditi anketnim upitnikom zadovoljstvo korisnika usluga javnog gradskog prijevoza u gradu Beču., Public transport includes different types of services that enable the mobility of citizens and residents of cities, it includes buses, trains, subways, ferries, taxis and their variations. Public transport can have a very important and unique role in the system of public transport in a way that allows affordable mobility of citizens who are not drivers and offers an efficient way to travel in urban areas and often serves as a catalyst for more thoughtful and better management of public lands within the public transport infrastructure. This paper briefly outlines the public transport system of the city of Vienna. In today’s modern cities, traffic is one of the biggest problems. Big cities are too burdened by traffic congestion, lack of parking space, polluted air, noise and conflict of motor vehicles and pedestrians. All of these problems in which traffic demand exceeds the traffic offer does not stand for public transport this European city provides to its citizens. City management and leading Transport Company Wiener Linien is making great efforts in the reduction of traffic congestion and traffic pollution. To encourage users to use public transport and reduce the use of cars, the city of Vienna offers the services of renting city bikes and using a large number of cycle routes, car sharing, etc. The aim of this paper is to investigate and determine customer satisfaction with public transport in the city of Vienna using questionnaire.

Nutritional risk factors can have a significant impact on mental and physical health of the student population. The aim of this study was to assess the nutritional status and quality of diet given to the recommended (RDA) input of nutrients, and to determine the eating habits of the student population of the University of Bihac (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The survey included 428 respondents (60.98% F and 39, 02% M) with an average age between 19 and 23 years. The research results indicate that students can be categorized as normal weight (97.60% of them), while female students (31.03% of them) fall into the category of moderately lean. Both sexes, with regard to daily energy share, take more fat in their diet (29.49 M and 28.50% F) compared to the RDA recommendations. Breakfast is a regular meal of more than half of the students (67.4%), 94.96% of the student body has lunch regularly, and 80.96% of students have their dinner. The most common diet is the “fast food”. Meat and meat preparations are daily consumed by 54.67% of the student body. Fresh fruits were part of daily diet of 34.2%, and fresh vegetables 31.14% of the student body. Milk and dairy products were consumed among 26.30% of the students. The proportion of students who smoke, and those who consume alcohol is too high.

Turistička destinacija Umaga, gradića na sjeverozapadnoj obali Istre, ima svoje komparativne prednosti, široku ponudu hotelskih i ugostiteljskih objekata, raznovrsnu izvanpansionsku ponudu te velik broj sportskih, kulturnih i turističkih manifestacija. Ovim radom htjelo se dati uvid u razinu zadovoljstva turista turističkom destinacijom grada Umaga, kao i utvrditi kvalitetu turističke ponude u destinaciji. U tu svrhu provedeno je empirijsko istraživanje na području grada Umaga koje je obuhvatilo 200 ispitanika u razdoblju između 1. lipnja i 30. rujna 2012. godine. Korištena metoda ispitivanja bila je metoda samopopunjavanja ankete. Provedeno istraživanje imalo je za cilj istražiti i utvrditi razinu zadovoljstva turista turističkom ponudom ove destinacije, kako bi se na taj način došlo do temelja za stvaranje, nadopunjavanje i poboljšanje postojeće turističke ponude i marketinških aktivnosti ove istarske turističke destinacije, odnosno kako bi se na temelju pribavljenih podataka moglo doći do zaključaka o kvaliteti turističke ponude u turističkoj destinaciji grada Umaga. Analizom pribavljenih podataka i odgovorom na postavljeno istraživačko pitanje dobiven je zaključak o zadovoljstvu turista turističkom ponudom destinacije grada Umaga. Turisti su pojedine elemente turističke ponude ocijenili visokim ocjenama, te je njihovo zadovoljstvo na visokoj razini, no još uvijek postoji prostor za unaprjeđenje., Umag, a town on the northwest coast of Istria, has a number of comparative advantages as a tourist destination, a wide range of hotels and restaurants, diverse accommodation options and a large number of sporting, cultural and other tourist events. The purpose of this paper is to provide insight into the level of satisfaction of tourists with Umag as a tourist destination, and to determine the level of quality of the tourism offer in the destination. For this purpose, empirical research was conducted in the area of Umag, which included 200 respondents in the period from 1 June to 30 September 2012. The method of self-completion questionnaires was used. The aim of the conducted research was to investigate and determine the level of tourists' satisfaction with the tourist offer of this destination in order to provide a foundation for creating, updating and improving the existing tourism and marketing activities of this Istrian tourist destination, so that conclusions can be made, based on the obtained data, about the quality of the tourism offer in the tourist destination of Umag. The analysis of the collected data provided an answer to the research question wherefrom the conclusion regarding the satisfaction of tourists with the tourist destination of Umag was derived. Tourists rated individual elements of the tourist offer very high, thus showing their satisfaction, but there still remains room for improvement.
