Abstract

Microenterprises are the entities with the greatest presence in the business fabric of Ecuador, however their contribution to the generation of employment and wealth is low, which is a reality not only of the country but of the entire Latin American region. In the "La Maná" canton, Cotopaxi province, the presence of this type of business organizations is just as important, diagnosing in previous works the shortcomings in administrative management, especially in the accounting, tax and financial fields. The present research was aimed at making a methodological proposal to promote the administrative training of micro-enterprises in La Maná, for which theoretical research methods such as dialectical, systemic and modeling were used. The proposal is constituted by objective, principles and stages, with an integral and organic character, considering the participation of internal and external actors to the company. The implementation of said proposal will make it possible to increase the training of administrators and managers and, over time, improve the results of business management and increase their survival and competitiveness rates, as well as contribute to the socioeconomic development of the "La Maná" canton and the country.

Abstract

In the work, the topics of internal control and quality management in hotel enterprises were addressed from the perspective of evaluating some aspects that, in the future, ensure their integration into a single management system. Internal control is a tool that allows the members of the organization to act under principles of reasonableness and security in the business activity, while quality management aims to achieve high standards of quality in the provision of services, evidenced in the levels of satisfaction of both internal and external customers. The research was developed in the 16 hotels that exist in the canton "La Maná", Cotopaxi province, Ecuador, with the objective of evaluating the level of certain elements of internal control and quality management. Theoretical and empirical research methods such as the historical and systemic method and observation were applied, a survey was applied to the administrative managers of these hotels and the data were analyzed with statistical techniques as part of the scientific measurement. It was determined that in these enterprises it is important the control environment, the monitoring of customer satisfaction, the implementation of controls in the quality area and the formal structuring of departments to address these activities, which in the future can contribute to the integration of internal control systems and quality management.

Abstract

The Raman scattering of Cisplatin (the first generation of anticancer drugs) has been studied. In the presence of silver nanoparticles, strong modifications of Raman spectra have been observed. The Raman frequencies have been shifted and the line profiles are broadened. We develop a theoretical model to explain the observed features of the Raman scattering. The model takes into account self-consistently the interaction of molecules with surface plasmonic waves excited in the silver nanoparticles, and it provides a qualitative agreement with the observed Raman spectra. We have demonstrated that the using silver nanoparticles can increase sensitivity of the technique, and potentially it has a broader range of applications to both spectroscopy and microscopy.

4. Microcréditos otorgados a mujeres y su incidencia en la economía familiar

Abstract

Los Microcréditos como herramienta generadora de recursos contribuyen a mejorar la situación socioeconómica de sus familias. De manera preferencial estos, se conceden a grupos de mujeres de estratos sociales bajos y medios. El objetivo que se persigue es recibir de las instituciones financieras, microcréditos para mujeres emprendedoras que necesitan mejorar su calidad de vida y reducir la pobreza en Quevedo. Se aplicó encuestas a mujeres económicamente activas, con actividades micro-empresariales, para el tamaño de la muestra se empleó fórmula de población inferior a los 100.000. La actividad micro empresarial desarrollada por las mujeres en Quevedo está identificada por la comercialización de ropa con el 30%, seguido de la venta de víveres con 29.36%, comercialización de zapatos, entre las más importantes. En su actividad diaria comercial, el 50.42% ha recibido financiamiento de parte de la banca privada y el 34.35% de las mujeres han obtenido créditos con el Banco Nacional de Fomento. El 81.44% consideran que la calificación al interés que fijan las Instituciones financieras es aceptable. Los recursos financieros obtenidos de los Microcréditos es del 65% que son destinados a inversión en el negocio, mientras que el 35% es utilizado para pagos de gastos generales. Para el 66.48% de las mujeres de Quevedo, los microcréditos incidieron para el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida y el 33.52 contribuyeron a la reducción de la pobreza en cada hogar de las mujeres emprendedoras, impulsando el desarrollo socioeconómico de las familias del cantón.

Abstract

This study reports the optimized structures and lowest-energy conformations/stereochemistry of five currently used platinum-based drugs: cisplatin, carboplatin, nedaplatin, oxaliplatin, and heptaplatin. Normal Raman and IR spectra of each drug are experimentally obtained and have been compared to various levels of density functional theory (DFT). Although some combination of structure, reactivity, or spectroscopy for these drugs has been studied by various groups, there are no known experimental normal Raman and IR spectra for nedaplatin, oxaliplatin, and heptaplatin in the literature. The detailed structural and vibration findings of these drugs are very important to understanding platinum behavior and drug dynamics. The following work explores the vibrational frequencies of these drugs particularly by focusing on the low-energy modes between 200 and 600 cm
