This paper proposes Hadoop job detection method using the Kalman filter and network configuration procedure for hybrid electro-optical intra-data center networks. The simulation results show improvement of detection accuracy and energy saving effect.

We show a multi-cloud-based network infrastructure for Smart World with demonstrating several types of network control and service including PTP devices for Private LTE, AI-based SFC Platform, WhiteBox-based reliable routing, and disaggregated SDM network.

During transfer experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (tEAE), myeline specific autoreactive CD4+ T cells cross the blood brain barrier at the blood vessels of the 5th lumber (L5) cord in a manner dependent on anti-gravity responses via the soleus muscles. This crossing leads to a transient development of neural inflammation. Because the pathology does not last long, negative factors at the region may be present. To investigate the existence of these negative regulators, we performed metabolite analysis of the L5 cord with or without gravity load or electrical stimulation of the soleus muscles and identified flavin-adenine dinucleotide (FAD). The amount of FAD in the L5 cord was decreased in mice suspended by their tails, which reduced the anti-gravity response from the hindlimbs, but recovered in mice with the tail suspension plus electrical stimulation in the soleus muscles. Moreover, FAD administration suppressed the EAE pathology. Thus, FAD was induced by antigravity responses in the spinal cord and suppressed the development of neuroinflammation. Therefore, FAD could be a therapeutic candidate for diseases with neuroinflammation, particularly those involving pathogenic T cells including multiple sclerosis. We report a simple process of stabilizing metastable β-Zn2SiO4:Mn nanocrystals in amorphous silica. Zn and Mn ions were incorporated in mesoporous silica by immersing aqueous solution of Mn2+ and Zn2+, and the mesoporous silica was sintered at 1000-1100oC in reducing atmosphere. β-Zn2SiO4:Mn were formed along with α-Zn2SiO4:Mn in sintered mesoporous silica when diameter of pore is as small as 2.4nm. Due to the formation of β-Zn2SiO4:Mn, photoluminescence (PL) spectra exhibited both green and yellow emission originated from α-and β-Zn2SiO4:Mn, respectively. Relative intensity of the two emission was changed by changing heat treatment time and temperature. These results imply that this simple process is promising to stabilize nanocrystal of β-Zn2SiO4:Mn emitting yellow luminescence.

Composites of a long-lasting phosphor, SrAl2O4:Eu,Dy, and glass were prepared by sintering the phosphor and glass powder. To enhance the afterglow luminescence, a borosilicate glass composition was chosen so that the refractive index of the glass matched that of the phosphor. Additional components with a high refractive index, such as La2O3 and Nb2O5, were added to the glass to increase the overall refractive index. As they tend to induce crystallization during sintering, small amounts of at least three types of such components were added to the glass to prevent crystallization. The surface of the composite was observed by a digital microscope with dark-field lighting. The phosphor particles became almost transparent because of the refractive-index matching, although bubbles were observed inside the phosphor particles. The afterglow luminance was, however, almost the same and the transmittance of the composite was not high because of many voids when compared to as that of the sample using the glass with a lower refractive index. The sample prepared under vacuum showed coloration and similar afterglow luminance even though the number of voids inside the composite decreased. To suppress the coloration, the amount of tin in the glass was increased, after which higher transparency and afterglow luminance were obtained. A 4-mm-thick sample showed a luminance of 118 mcd∙m-2 60 min after irradiation by a D65 lamp with 200 lx for 20 min.

The interest in organic–inorganic hybrid molecules as molecular probes for biological systems has been growing rapidly. Such hybrid molecules exhibit unique biological activities. Herein, copper(II) bis(diethyldithiocarbamate) (Cu10) was found to activate the transcription factor NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), which is responsible for regulating antioxidant and phase II xenobiotic enzymes, in vascular endothelial cells. The copper complex rapidly accumulated within cells and induced nuclear translocation of Nrf2, leading to upregulation of the expression of downstream proteins without cytotoxic effects. However, while copper bis(2-hydroxyethyl)dithiocarbamate activated Nrf2, copper ion, diethyldithiocarbamate ligand with or without zinc or iron failed to exhibit this activity. Intracellular accumulation of Cu10 was higher than that of Cu(II) and Cu(I). While the accumulation of copper(II) bis(dimethyldithiocarbamate) was reduced by small interfering RNA (siRNA)-mediated knockdown of the copper transporter CTR1, the knockdown did not affect Cu10 accumulation, indicating that Cu10 rapidly enters vascular endothelial cells via CTR1-independent mechanisms. In addition, copper and iron complexes with other ligands tested could not activate Nrf2, suggesting that the intramolecular interaction between copper and dithiocarbamate ligand is important for the activation of the transcription factor. Cu10 induced the expression of heme oxygenase-1, NAD(P)H quinone oxidoreductase 1, and γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase, downstream proteins of Nrf2. It was suggested that Cu10-induced activation of Nrf2 was due to proteasome inhibition as well as binding to Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1. Since the effects of Cu10 on vascular endothelial cells are unique and diverse, the copper complex may be a good molecular probe to analyze the functions of the cells. For predicting welding distortion and residual stress generated by laser–arc hybrid welding, a series of experiments and analyses were carried out. A bead-on-plate welding was performed on SM490 steel by using a fibre laser and CO2 arc welding by changing their heat input ratio. The experiment was simulated by thermal elastic–plastic analysis with the proposed simulation model considering the penetration shape by laser and arc separately. By using this model, the experimental results could be simulated with high accuracy. Therefore, the validity and generality of the numerical simulation model could be verified. The tendency and magnitude of angular distortion varied with the heat input ratio of laser and arc. The results indicated the possibility of the ideal heat input ratio of laser and arc for controlling angular distortion generated by hybrid welding. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the heat input ratio of laser and arc did not affect residual stress generated by hybrid welding.

Small living insects often attach in a raspberry hole, and Japanese customers hate them. Therefore farmers in Japan are manually checking all harvested raspberries and removing ones with insects before shipping them to fresh markets. It is difficult to find them even with human eyes. Such situation cause high cost and farmer's hard work on the cultivation. In this study, machine vision to detect insects in a hole of raspberry fruit automatically was developed for substitution of human manual work. As the result of the test, insects were identified with high success rate. Although there were several failure cases, it can be considered that they are improved by taking video inside a room with a stable artificial light.

Vascular endothelial cells cover the luminal surface of blood vessels and contribute to the prevention of vascular disorders such as atherosclerosis. Metallothionein (MT) is a low molecular weight, cysteine-rich, metal-binding, inducible protein, which protects cells from the toxicity of heavy metals and active oxygen species. Endothelial MT is not induced by inorganic zinc. Adequate tools are required to investigate the mechanisms underlying endothelial MT induction. In the present study, we found that an organoantimony compound, tris(pentafluorophenyl)stibane, induces gene expression of MT-1A and MT-2A, which are subisoforms of MT in bovine aortic endothelial cells. The data reveal that MT-1A is induced by activation of both the MTF-1-MRE and Nrf2-ARE pathways, whereas MT-2A expression requires only activation of the MTF-1-MRE pathway. The present data suggest that the original role of MT-1 is to protect cells from heavy metal toxicity and oxidative stress in the biological defense system, while that of MT-2 is to regulate intracellular zinc metabolism.

Zircon and apatite fission track (AFT) thermochronology was applied to the James Ross Basin sedimentary rocks from James Ross and Seymour islands. The probable sources of these sediments were generated in Carboniferous to Early Paleogene times (∼315 to 60 Ma). The total depths of individual James Ross Basin formations are discussed. The AFT data were modelled, and the thermal history model was reconstructed for samples from Seymour Island. The first stage after a period of total thermal annealing (when the samples were above 120°C) involved Late Triassic cooling (∼230 to 200 Ma) and is followed by a period of steady cooling through the whole apatite partial annealing zone (PAZ, 60–120°C) to minimum temperature in Paleocene/Early Eocene. The next stage was the maximum burial of sedimentary rocks in the Eocene (∼35 Ma, 1.1–1.8 km) and the final cooling and uplift of Seymour Island sedimentary rocks at ∼35 to 20 Ma.

Fission-track (FT) thermochronologic analysis was performed on zircon separates from rocks in and around the Nojima fault, which was activated during the 1995 Kobe earthquake. Samples were collected from the University Group 500 m (UG-500) borehole and nearby outcrops. FT lengths in zircons from localities > 25 m away from the fault plane as well as one 0.1 m away from the fault in the footwall are characterized by concordant mean values of ∼ 10–11 μm and unimodal distributions with negative skewness, which showed no signs of appreciable reduction in FT length. We remodel the annealing kinetics of fission tracks (FTs) in zircon to fit data from 43 laboratory experiments in three earlier publications using spontaneous FT lengths in zircon from the Nisatai Dacite. Heating temperature and time are in the ranges of 350–912 °C and 10− 3–104 h, respectively. The data sets illustrate a transition in annealing process at a certain temperature zone. In order to express the annealing behavior involving the possible transitional process with improved goodness of fit, two types of models are constructed; the hybrid-linear model that consists of the fanning-linear model at high temperature and the parallel-linear model at low temperature, connected with a transitional temperature zone, and the parallel-curvilinear model that approximates smoothly the transition in the annealing process. The validity of the extrapolation of the model to geological time scale is confirmed by comparison with some deep borehole core data. The length estimates by the hybrid-linear model agree well with the borehole data, whilst the estimates by the parallel-curvilinear model show a significant disagreement with highly annealed borehole samples although this model provides good agreement with the experimental data. For the hybrid-linear model, estimates of the partial annealing zone corresponding to isothermal heating for 106 and 107 years are 281–352 °C and 262–330 °C where the top and bottom of the partial annealing zone are defined by the mean length reduction ratio of 0.4 and 0.8, respectively.

症例1は64歳, 男性。初診の約2年前から右足底の黒色斑に気付いたが, 徐々に増大してきたため当科を受診した。右足底外側に2×3cm大の辺縁不整の茶褐色から黒褐色の色素班を認めた。手術前日にテクネシウムフチン酸を用い, リンパシンチグラフィーを施行し右鼠径, 右膝窩に集積像を認めた。術中2.5%パテントブルーとガンマープローブを併用し, 右鼠径, 右膝窩に1個ずつ青染したリンパ節を摘出した。症例2は74歳, 女性。初診の約4年前から右手掌の黒色斑に気付いたが, 徐々に増大してきたため当科を受診した。右3, 4指基部, 手掌に不整型で濃淡に差のある黒色斑を認めた。黒色斑は4指では一部背側まで広がっていた。症例1と同様にリンパシンチグラフィーを施行し, 右肘窩と右腋窩の2ヵ所に集積像を認め, 術中に右肘窩に2個, 右腋窩に1個の青染したリンパ節を摘出した。

Zircon fission-track (FT) and U–Pb analyses were performed on zircon extracted from a pseudotachylyte zone and surrounding rocks of the Asuke Shear Zone (ASZ), Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The U–Pb ages of all four samples are ∼ 67–76 Ma, which is interpreted as the formation age of Ryoke granitic rocks along the ASZ. The mean zircon FT age of host rock is 73 ± 7 (2 σ ) Ma, suggesting a time of initial cooling through the zircon closure temperature. The pseudotachylyte zone however, yielded a zircon FT age of 53 ± 9 (2 σ ) Ma, statistically different from the age of the host rock. Zircon FTs showed reduced mean lengths and intermediate ages for samples adjacent to the pseudotachylyte zone. Coupled with the new zircon U–Pb ages and previous heat conduction modeling, the present FT data are best interpreted as reflecting paleothermal effects of the frictional heating of the fault. The age for the pseudotachylyte coincides with the change in direction of rotation of the Pacific plate from NW to N which can be considered to initialize the NNE–SSW trending sinistral–extensional ASZ before the Miocene clockwise rotation of SW Japan. The present study demonstrates that a history of fault motions in seismically active regions can be reconstructed by dating pseudotachylytes using zircon FT thermochronology.

The upper Mesozoic Tetori Group contains numerous fossils of plants and marine and non-marine animals. The group has the potential to provide key information to improve our understanding of the Middle Jurassic to Early Cretaceous biota of East Asia. However, the depositional age of the Tetori Group remains uncertain, and without good age constraints, accurate correlation with other areas is very difficult. As a first step in obtaining reliable ages for the formations within the Tetori Group, we used laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry to measure the U-Pb ages of zircons collected from tuff beds in the Shokawa district, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, central Japan. The youngest reliable U-Pb ages from the tuff beds of the Ushimaru, Mitarai and Okurodani Formations are 130.2 +/- 1.7, 129.8 +/- 1.0 and 117.5 +/- 0.7 Ma, respectively (errors represent 2 SE). These results indicate that the entire Tetori Group in the Shokawa district, which was previously believed to be correlated to the Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous, is in fact correlated to the Lower Cretaceous. The maximum ages of the Ushimaru, Mitarai and Okurodani Formations are late Hauterivian to Barremian, late Hauterivian to Barremian and Barremian to Aptian, respectively.
