Takotsubo syndrome (TS) is a temporary form of left ventricular (LV) dysfunction characterized by a distinct pattern of LV impairment, often triggered by a physical or emotional stressful event. Historically, TS was considered a benign condition due to its prompt restoration of myocardial function and generally excellent outcomes. However, recent studies have shown that complications similar to those seen after myocardial infarction can occur, necessitating careful monitoring of these patients. Among noninvasive imaging techniques, cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is becoming increasingly important in evaluating patients with TS. CMR offers a unique ability to noninvasively assess myocardial tissue characteristics, allowing for detecting the typical features of TS, such as specific wall motion abnormalities and myocardial edema. Beyond its well‐established diagnostic utility in the clinical management of TS, CMR has also proven valuable in prognosis and risk stratification for these patients. Advances in CMR, including myocardial strain and parametric mapping have expanded its role in the diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up of these patients. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the potential applications of CMR in the diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of TS patients. It explores the emerging use of novel CMR imaging biomarkers that may enhance diagnosis, improve prognostic accuracy, and contribute to the overall management of these patients. Metabolic bone diseases (MBDs), including osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and Paget's disease, represent a significant challenge in medical imaging and intervention. Interventional radiologists play a pivotal role in managing these conditions, due to the crucial role of detailed and precise imaging in diagnosing and treating MBDs. This article offers comprehensive recommendations aimed at optimizing interventional radiologic practices for patients with MBDs, highlighting the importance of using advanced imaging modalities, including dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and magnetic resonance imaging, essential for accurate assessment of bone mineral density and architecture, guiding effective intervention strategies. We also discuss the use of minimally invasive procedures like vertebroplasty and biopsy, vital for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, to enhance diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic outcomes, ensuring high-quality patient management in the context of MBDs. Objective: The aim of this study is to explain the technique used for removing and replacing a novel percutaneous interspinous device (PID). Procedure: Three male patients, with a mean age of 66 years (range 62–72), were included in the study due to displacement (N = 2) or misplacement (N = 1) of the novel PID. This occurred after a mean of 23.3 ± 10.5 days from the initial placement (range 13–34) at the L4–L5 level (N = 1) and L3–L4 level (N = 2). Following the removal of the PID, four new devices were implanted. Conclusion: The novel PID can be safely removed either immediately after its placement during the procedure or after a certain period of days or months from its implantation. The removal procedure can be performed percutaneously under imaging guidance, by closing the four retractable wings, using the same instrumentation as utilized during the initial implantation. Simple Summary: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is among the most frequent cutaneous tumors. Over the years, the understanding and diagnostic sensitivity has increased due to the introduction and improved knowledge of dermoscopy, as well as of more recent noninvasive technologies, such as reflectance confocal microscopy and line-field confocal optical coherence. Imaging plays a central role in the staging of the disease; however, its role in the follow-up, as well as the choice of the best technique in each patient, is still not fully clarified. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most frequent skin cancer, accounting for approximately 20% of all cutaneous malignancies, and with an increasing incidence due to the progressive increment of the average age of life. The diagnosis is usually firstly suspected based on clinical manifestations; however, dermoscopic features may improve diagnostic sensitivity in cases of an uncertain diagnosis and may guide the biopsy, which should be performed to histopathologically prove the tumor. New diagnostic strategies may improve the sensitivity of the cutaneous SCC, such as reflectance confocal microscopy and line-field confocal optical coherence, for which increasing data have been recently published. Imaging has a central role in the staging of the diseases, while its exact role, as well as the choice of the best techniques, during the follow-up are not fully clarified. Traumatic vascular injuries consist of direct or indirect damage to arteries and/or veins and account for 3% of all traumatic injuries. Typical consequences are hemorrhage and ischemia. Vascular injuries of the extremities can occur isolated or in association with major trauma and other organ injuries. They account for 1–2% of patients admitted to emergency departments and for approximately 50% of all arterial injuries. Lower extremities are more frequently injured than upper ones in the adult population. The outcome of vascular injuries is strictly correlated to the environment and the time background. Treatment can be challenging, notably in polytrauma because of the dilemma of which injury should be prioritized, and treatment delay can cause disability or even death, especially for limb vascular injury. Our purposes are to discuss the role of computed tomography angiography (CTA) in the diagnosis of vascular trauma and its optimized protocol to achieve a definitive diagnosis and to assess the radiological signs of vascular injuries and the possible pitfalls. Advancing medical technology revolutionizes our ability to diagnose various disease processes. Conventional Single-Energy Computed Tomography (SECT) has multiple inherent limitations for providing definite diagnoses in certain clinical contexts. Dual-Energy Computed Tomography (DECT) has been in use since 2006 and has constantly evolved providing various applications to assist radiologists in reaching certain diagnoses SECT is rather unable to identify. DECT may also complement the role of SECT by supporting radiologists to confidently make diagnoses in certain clinically challenging scenarios. In this review article, we briefly describe the principles of X-ray attenuation. We detail principles for DECT and describe multiple systems associated with this technology. We describe various DECT techniques and algorithms including virtual monoenergetic imaging (VMI), virtual non-contrast (VNC) imaging, Iodine quantification techniques including Iodine overlay map (IOM), and two- and three-material decomposition algorithms that can be utilized to demonstrate a multitude of pathologies. Lastly, we provide our readers commentary on examples pertaining to the practical implementation of DECT's diverse techniques in the Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Biliary, Musculoskeletal, and Neuroradiology systems. Abdominal emergencies in cancer patients encompass a wide spectrum of oncologic conditions caused directly by malignancies, paraneoplastic syndromes, reactions to the chemotherapy or often represent the first clinical manifestation of an unknown malignancy. Not rarely, clinical symptoms are the tip of an iceberg. In this scenario, the radiologist is asked to exclude the cause responsible for the patient's symptoms, to suggest the best way to manage and to rule out the underlying malignancy. Transdiaphragmatic fistulae are rare conditions characterized by pathological communication between two epithelium-lined surfaces. Hepato-thoracic fistula consists of abnormal communication between the liver and/or the biliary system and the thorax; while the pancreaticopleural fistula consists of abnormal communication between the pancreas and the thorax, the pleuro-biliary fistula represents the more common type. Clinical symptoms and laboratory findings are generally non-specific (e.g., thoracic and abdominal pain, dyspnea, cough, neutrophilia, elevated CPR, and bilirubin values) and initially, first-level investigations, such as chest RX and abdominal ultrasound, are generally inconclusive for the diagnosis. Contrast-enhanced CT represents the first two-level radiological imaging technique, usually performed to identify and evaluate the underlying pathology sustained by transdiaphragmatic fistulae, their complications, and the evaluation of the fistulous tract. When the CT remains inconclusive, other techniques such as MRI and MRCP can be performed. A prompt and accurate diagnosis is crucial because the recognition of fistulae and the precise definition of the fistulous tract have a major impact on the management acquisition process. Awareness of gender differences in cardiovascular disease (CVD) has increased: both the different impact of traditional cardiovascular risk factors on women and the existence of sex-specific risk factors have been demonstrated. Therefore, it is essential to recognize typical aspects of ischemic heart disease (IHD) in women, who usually show a lower prevalence of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) as a cause of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). It is also important to know how to recognize pathologies that can cause acute chest pain with a higher incidence in women, such as spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) and myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA). Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) gained a pivotal role in the context of cardiac emergencies. Thus, the aim of our review is to investigate the most frequent scenarios in women with acute chest pain and how advanced cardiac imaging can help in the management and diagnosis of ACS. In recent decades, cardiac computed tomography (CT) has emerged as a powerful non-invasive tool for risk stratification, as well as the detection and characterization of coronary artery disease (CAD), which remains the main cause of morbidity and mortality in the world. Advances in technology have favored the increasing use of cardiac CT by allowing better performance with lower radiation doses. Coronary artery calcium, as assessed by non-contrast CT, is considered to be the best marker of subclinical atherosclerosis, and its use is recommended for the refinement of risk assessment in low-to-intermediate risk individuals. In addition, coronary CT angiography (CCTA) has become a gate-keeper to invasive coronary angiography (ICA) and revascularization in patients with acute chest pain by allowing the assessment not only of the extent of lumen stenosis, but also of its hemodynamic significance if combined with the measurement of fractional flow reserve or perfusion imaging. Moreover, CCTA provides a unique incremental value over functional testing and ICA by imaging the vessel wall, thus allowing the assessment of plaque burden, composition, and instability features, in addition to perivascular adipose tissue attenuation, which is a marker of vascular inflammation. While chest X-ray remains the initial imaging test in the red room, offering a screening evaluation for alternative common differential diagnoses, state-of-the-art multidetector computed tomography angiography (MDCT-a) is a widely available, rapid, replicable, noninvasive form of diagnostic imaging, with sensitivity approaching 100%. However, although US still represents the first imaging modality, it sometimes struggles to find serious complications that contrast-enhanced MDCT does not miss, due to its higher sensitivity, specificity and capabilities of the post-processing techniques. The article "Acute Pulmonary Embolism: Prognostic Role of Computed Tomography Pulmonary Angiography" by G. Zantonelli et al.
