After the seismic event of Irpinia (Southern Apennines), occurred on November 23rd 1980, the Pavoncelli tunnel, that used to supply with water the Puglia Region, was seriously damaged. Because of the strategic importance of this civil engineering work, a new water tunnel named Pavoncelli-bis that should substitute the previous one, was built and finally tested during the end of the 2019. The geological features of the area, highlighted the presence of three main siliciclastic formations (Corleto, pre-Numidian/Numidian and Castelvetere formations), crossed by the tunnel trace, that were petrophysically analyzed through the mercury injection porosimetry for a better definition of their petrophysical signatures and related water-reservoir potential at regional scale as hydrocarbon-reservoir potential. Data highlighted the presence of two clusters: one represented by the Corleto and Pre-Numidian Fms. showing good permeability (respectively 181.70 mD and 122.25 mD in median) and low porosity (respectively 4.56 % and 3.94 % in median); the other, represented by the Castelvetere Fm. highlighting good porosity (9.58 % in median) and a very low permeability (4.84 mD in median). Permeability, more than porosity, affects the cluster differentiation, whereas the other variables (average pore diameter and nanopores volume) do not show any particular trend. All these petrophysical parameters were compared with the sandstone composition (Qm, F, Lt), highlighting that porosity results negatively correlated to monocrystalline quartz (Qm) and positively correlated with feldspars (F). The lithic fragments values (Lt) are sparse and do not show any specific trend. The variability of porosity is directly linked with the diagenetic processes that interested the clusters of the Corleto and pre-Numidian Fms. (rich of Qm) and the Castelvetere Fm. (rich of F). Particularly, where quartz is more abundant, quartz cementation and overgrowth are more efficient and widespread, resulting in a reduction of the porosity. On the contrary, where feldspars are abundant, during diagenesis their dissolution can create new pore spaces and also clay-minerals with a better porosity than the previous feldspars. Moreover, clay-minerals can coat the quartz grains present in the sandstones inhibit the porosity loss of the quartz cementation and overgrowth. However, despite an increase in porosity, permeability decreases because the authigenic clays is mainly formed by isolated and blind pores.

Two weather stations have been installed in the coastal region of the Municipalities of Bacoli (Lake Miseno-­Case Vecchie) and Naples (Cape Posillipo-­Denza Institute) within the frame of a cooperation between the INGV­Napoli and IAMC­CNR Napoli in a PON ­ REC 2007­2103 project: "Innovative MONITORING for the Coasts and the Marine Environment (MONICA)". These stations have provided accurate measurements of various weather-­climatic parameters (temperature, rainfall, wind, humidity, atmospheric pressure), with a time frequency of 10 minutes over a four­-year period. This report documents the instruments used and the time series data recorded during the period 2014­-2017 by the Bacoli meteorological station, and discusses the meteorological implications for the study area. The air-­temperature trend in the analyzed period is characterized by two years with values close to their average and two years with significant deviations that reach their maximum during the summer season (2014, 2015). Rainfall values denote a remarkable irregularity, with monthly cumulative values sometimes extremely high (e.g. October 2015, September 2017), alternating with months with limited rain accumulation even in seasons during which rainfalls are generally copious (e.g. December 2015 and 2016). The pluviometric behavior of the western coastal zone of Campi Flegrei is characterized by frequent phenomena of short duration and high intensity that can trigger extreme hydrological and/or hydrogeological events. The wind regime appears substantially stable during the four­year period, both in terms of anemoscopic regime (provenance direction), and average intensity. This highlights the influence of local morphological factors that are able to control the wind regime along the Campi Flegrei coastal zone., Nell’ambito del progetto PON ­ Ricerca e Competitività 2007­2013 per le Regioni della Convergenza denominato: "MONitoraggio Innovativo per le Coste e l'Ambiente marino (MONICA)", svolto in collaborazione tra l’Osservatorio Vesuviano ­ INGV e l’Istituto Ambiente Marino Costiero (IAMC) ­ CNR, a partire dal dicembre 2013, si è provveduto ad installare due centraline meteo nel territorio dei Comuni di Bacoli e Napoli, che hanno fornito misurazioni accurate di vari parametri meteorologici (temperatura, precipitazione piovosa, vento, umidità, pressione atmosferica), con una frequenza temporale di 10 minuti. Il presente rapporto descrive le strumentazioni utilizzate ed i risultati ottenuti, con riferimento alle annualità 2014, 2015, 2016 e 2017, della stazione meteorologica ubicata a Bacoli, nelle immediate adiacenze della sponda orientale del Lago Miseno, che consentono interessanti considerazioni di carattere meteorologico relative all’area in esame. L’andamento termico nel quadriennio è stato caratterizzato da una notevole variabilità inter­annuale. La piovosità è risultata caratterizzata da una notevole irregolarità, con valori di accumulo mensile talora estremamente elevati (Ottobre 2015, Settembre 2017), alternati a mesi con accumuli pluviometrici di modesta entità anche in fasi stagionali in cui le piogge risultano generalmente abbondanti (Dicembre 2015 e 2016). Il comportamento pluviometrico dell’area flegrea risulta caratterizzato da eventi pluviometrici di breve durata e notevole intensità. Tale tipologia di fenomeni è in grado di generare fenomenologie alluvionali ad insorgenza rapida (flash floods). Il regime dei venti nel quadriennio ha mostrato una notevole costanza, sia in termini di regime anemoscopio (direzione di provenienza), sia in termini di intensità media, mettendo in evidenza la presenza di fattori strutturali locali che sono in grado di governare il regime dei venti nella fascia costiera dell’area flegrea.
