Summary Background PD-1 and PD-L1 inhibitors are active in metastatic urothelial carcinoma, but positive randomised data supporting their use as a first-line treatment are lacking. In this study we assessed outcomes with first-line pembrolizumab alone or combined with chemotherapy versus chemotherapy for patients with previously untreated advanced urothelial carcinoma. Methods KEYNOTE-361 is a randomised, open-label, phase 3 trial of patients aged at least 18 years, with untreated, locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic urothelial carcinoma, with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of up to 2. Eligible patients were enrolled from 201 medical centres in 21 countries and randomly allocated (1:1:1) via an interactive voice-web response system to intravenous pembrolizumab 200 mg every 3 weeks for a maximum of 35 cycles plus intravenous chemotherapy (gemcitabine [1000 mg/m2] on days 1 and 8 and investigator's choice of cisplatin [70 mg/m2] or carboplatin [area under the curve 5] on day 1 of every 3-week cycle) for a maximum of six cycles, pembrolizumab alone, or chemotherapy alone, stratified by choice of platinum therapy and PD-L1 combined positive score (CPS). Neither patients nor investigators were masked to the treatment assignment or CPS. At protocol-specified final analysis, sequential hypothesis testing began with superiority of pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in the total population (all patients randomly allocated to a treatment) for the dual primary endpoints of progression-free survival (p value boundary 0·0019), assessed by masked, independent central review, and overall survival (p value boundary 0·0142), followed by non-inferiority and superiority of overall survival for pembrolizumab versus chemotherapy in the patient population with CPS of at least 10 and in the total population (also a primary endpoint). Safety was assessed in the as-treated population (all patients who received at least one dose of study treatment). This study is completed and is no longer enrolling patients, and is registered at ClinicalTrials.gov , number NCT02853305 . Findings Between Oct 19, 2016 and June 29, 2018, 1010 patients were enrolled and allocated to receive pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy (n=351), pembrolizumab monotherapy (n=307), or chemotherapy alone (n=352). Median follow-up was 31·7 months (IQR 27·7–36·0). Pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy did not significantly improve progression-free survival, with a median progression-free survival of 8·3 months (95% CI 7·5–8·5) in the pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy group versus 7·1 months (6·4–7·9) in the chemotherapy group (hazard ratio [HR] 0·78, 95% CI 0·65–0·93; p=0·0033), or overall survival, with a median overall survival of 17·0 months (14·5–19·5) in the pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy group versus 14·3 months (12·3–16·7) in the chemotherapy group (0·86, 0·72–1·02; p=0·0407). No further formal statistical hypothesis testing was done. In analyses of overall survival with pembrolizumab versus chemotherapy (now exploratory based on hierarchical statistical testing), overall survival was similar between these treatment groups, both in the total population (15·6 months [95% CI 12·1–17·9] with pembrolizumab vs 14·3 months [12·3–16·7] with chemotherapy; HR 0·92, 95% CI 0·77–1·11) and the population with CPS of at least 10 (16·1 months [13·6–19·9] with pembrolizumab vs 15·2 months [11·6–23·3] with chemotherapy; 1·01, 0·77–1·32). The most common grade 3 or 4 adverse event attributed to study treatment was anaemia with pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy (104 [30%] of 349 patients) or chemotherapy alone (112 [33%] of 342 patients), and diarrhoea, fatigue, and hyponatraemia (each affecting four [1%] of 302 patients) with pembrolizumab alone. Six (1%) of 1010 patients died due to an adverse event attributed to study treatment; two patients in each treatment group. One each occurred due to cardiac arrest and device-related sepsis in the pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy group, one each due to cardiac failure and malignant neoplasm progression in the pembrolizumab group, and one each due to myocardial infarction and ischaemic colitis in the chemotherapy group. Interpretation The addition of pembrolizumab to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy did not significantly improve efficacy and should not be widely adopted for treatment of advanced urothelial carcinoma. Background First-line pembrolizumab monotherapy improves overall and progression-free survival in patients with untreated metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer with a programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) tumour proportion score (TPS) of 50% or greater. We investigated overall survival after treatment with pembrolizumab monotherapy in patients with a PD-L1 TPS of 1% or greater. Methods This randomised, open-label, phase 3 study was done in 213 medical centres in 32 countries. Eligible patients were adults (≥18 years) with previously untreated locally advanced or metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer without a sensitising EGFR mutation or ALK translocation and with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status score of 0 or 1, life expectancy 3 months or longer, and a PD-L1 TPS of 1% or greater. Randomisation was computer generated, accessed via an interactive voice-response and integrated web-response system, and stratified by region of enrolment (east Asia vs rest of world), ECOG performance status score (0 vs 1), histology (squamous vs non-squamous), and PD-L1 TPS (≥50% vs 1-49%). Enrolled patients were randomly assigned 1:1 in blocks of four per stratum to receive pembrolizumab 200 mg every 3 weeks for up to 35 cycles or the investigator's choice of platinum-based chemotherapy for four to six cycles. Primary endpoints were overall survival in patients with a TPS of 50% or greater, 20% or greater, and 1% or greater (one-sided significance thresholds, p=0·0122, p=0·0120, and p=0·0124, respectively) in the intention-to-treat population, assessed sequentially if the previous findings were significant. This study is registered at ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT02220894. Findings From Dec 19, 2014, to March 6, 2017, 1274 patients (902 men, 372 women, median age 63 years [IQR 57-69]) with a PD-L1 TPS of 1% or greater were allocated to pembrolizumab (n=637) or chemotherapy (n=637) and included in the intention-to-treat population. 599 (47%) had a TPS of 50% or greater and 818 patients (64%) had a TPS of 20% or greater. As of Feb 26, 2018, median follow-up was 12·8 months. Overall survival was significantly longer in the pembrolizumab group than in the chemotherapy group in all three TPS populations (≥50% hazard ratio 0·69, 95% CI 0·56-0·85, p=0·0003; ≥20% 0·77, 0·64-0·92, p=0·0020, and ≥1% 0·81, 0·71-0·93, p=0·0018). The median surival values by TPS population were 20·0 months (95% CI 15·4-24·9) for pembrolizumab versus 12·2 months (10·4-14·2) for chemotherapy, 17·7 months (15·3-22·1) versus 13·0 months (11·6-15·3), and 16·7 months (13·9-19·7) versus 12·1 months (11·3-13·3), respectively. Treatment-related adverse events of grade 3 or worse occurred in 113 (18%) of 636 treated patients in the pembrolizumab group and in 252 (41%) of 615 in the chemotherapy group and led to death in 13 (2%) and 14 (2%) patients, respectively. Interpretation The benefit-to-risk profile suggests that pembrolizumab monotherapy can be extended as first-line therapy to patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer without sensitising EGFR or ALK alterations and with low PD-L1 TPS. e21041 Background: The tumor microenvironment TME is a heterogeneous mixture of different tumor cells, necrotic cells and immune infíltrate.Furthermore nerves and vasculature immersed in the surrounding stroma. The TME cells have different immunological phenotypes. The infiltrating lymphocytes of the tumor stroma (tils) and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) are a reflection of the state of “inflammation” in the TME and his systemic repercussion. In our institution we have carried out several research studies studying different markers of inflammation, such as BMI, TILs and NLR in different solid tumors. We conclude that these markers of inflammation have a role in tumor behavior, prognosis and response to treatment. The main objective was investigated the relationship between as NLR and progression-free survival (PFS).in patients with NSCLC who received immunotherapy. The secondary objective was to analyze if there is a relationship between ORR and NLR in patients with NSCLC. Methods: Retrospective and analytical study of patients of Instituto Oncológico de Córdoba. Patients with stage IV NSCLC were analyzed. Were included patient who performed IT alone or in combination with another immunomodulator or platinum-based chemotherapy. The cut-off value for NLR > or < 3 was taken. ORR was evaluated by RECIST criteria. For the statistical analysis of survival, Chi-Square test and Kaplan-Meyer test were used. Results: 52 pts with NSCLC were selected, the average age was 67 years. Of the total number of subjects analyzed, 75% (39) presented non-squamous histology and 25% (13) presented squamous histology. All performed IT (anti PD1) alone or in combination with another immunomodulator (Ipilimumab) or platinum-based CT. Of total patients analized, 27 pts had a NLR < 3; and 25 pts NLR > 3. The median overall survival (OS)was 8.5 months for general population. Patients with an NLR < 3, the median PFS was 14.9 months and those with an NLR > 3 was 5.5 months (p: 0.01). When analyzed the ORR in pts with NLR < 3 it was 21% and those with NLR > 3 the ORR was 4% with statistically significant differences (p:0.02). All patients had follow-up of at least 1 year4 patients (8%)with NLR < 3 had disease progression at 6 months in differencies with patients with NLR > 3 that had progression 13 pts (25%)(p:0.01) and these differences were maintained when we evaluated the PFS at year. Conclusions: Patients with NLR < 3 had better progression-free survival and ORR. It is possible that NLR is a very useful and easily accessible predictive factor in patients with NSCLC undergoing immunotherapy.

Zero-shot classification (ZSC) is the task of learning predictors for classes not seen during training. Although the different methods in the literature are evaluated using the same class splits, little is known about their stability under different class partitions. In this work we show experimentally that ZSC performance exhibits strong variability under changing training setups. e21042 Background: There exists a strong relationship between cancer and inflammation. For this reason, attempts have been made to identify different biomarkers of inflammation in recent years. The neutrophil - lymphocyte ratio (NLR) a marker of systemic inflammation, and the infiltranting lymphocytes of the tumor stroma (TILs) have been studied by our research team in different tumors, such as melanoma, breast cancer, colon cancer and NSCLC in patient who had recieved tratment with chemotherapy. We could observe that there was a significant relationship beteween DFS and a high NLR on the one hand, and DSF an intense TILs on the other. Our main objective is to evaluate the relationship between the objective response rate (ORR) and the pretreatment NLR in patients with advanced NSCLC who recieved immunotherapy. Our secondary objective is to analyzed the associated between PFS and RNL in patients with advanced NSCLC undergoing immunotherapy. Methods: Patients with diagnosis of advanced-stage NSCLC who recieved only immunotherapy, immunotherapy with another immunomodulator or in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy werw included. All patients had a follow-up of at least 6 months. The cutoff value > or < 3 for the NLR was use to reference. The laboratory control prior to the beginning of treatment was taken, and the ORR was determined using the Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors (RECIST) criteria. Statistical analysis was performed using dispersion and position measurements, T-Test and Chi Square test. For PFS analysis Kaplan-Meyer was used. The level of significance for the variables was p < 0.05. Results: 41 patients with advanced NSCLC were analyzed. 43.9% (18 pts) recieved immunotherapy alone with nivolumab. 34.14% (14 pts) received a combined treatment (nivo / ipi) and 21.95% (9 pts.), immuno / QT combination (based on platinum). Regarding the histological presentation, 80.48% were adenocarcinoma. 54% (22 pts) had an NLR > 3 and 46% (19 pts) an NLR < 3. The ORR in the general population was 24%. in pts with an NLR < 3, the ORR that was observed was 42% vs. ORR of 9% in pts with NLR > 3 (p: 0.02). These differences were statistically significant. The median PFS was 11.27 months in the general population. As regards RNL, the median PFS were 20.74 vs 5.52 months in favor of pts with an NLR < 3 (p: 0.04). Conclusions: We could conclude that patients with NSCLC and pretreatment NLR < 3, who undergo immunotherapy, had better ORR compared to those with NLR > 3. These differences was statistically significant. Also, we could observe better PFS in patient with NLR < 3. These difference was estatically significant. We will keep working to obtain a greater number of patients. Then we could have a better analysis and statistical power. It is possible that NLR will be a highly useful and easy-to-acces predictive factor, and it could be used in patients with immunotherapy in our daily practice.

e16513 Background: The bladder cancer is a malignant disease. It has been related to tobacco consumption, fat diet, high body mass index (BMI) and urinary tract infections. As a result of the activation the pro-inflammatory pathways. Neutrophil to lymphocyte radio (NLR) and the infiltrating lymphocytes of the tumor stroma (TILs) have been shown to have a significant prognostic value in different tumors. The primary aim is to analyze the role of TILs and RNL as a predictive factor, in patients with MIBC and objective response rate (ORR). The secondary aim is to evaluate the relationship beteween BMI, tabaquism and ORR, in the same group of pts. Methods: A total of 35 pts with MIBC was included. All pts received neoadjuvant treatment, with cisplatin and gemcitabine. Also, TILs was determined as the percentage of mononuclear inflammatory cells in the total stromal area counted in 5 high-power fields (CGA, X 400), on the invasive front of the tumor. The NLR was obtained before treatment and value of cut-off was 2.6. the evaluation of ORR was calculated used the T-Test and Chi Square test. Results: Of the total of 35 patients. 15 patients obtained complete response (CR), 6 pts partial response (PR), 5 pts stable disease (SD) and 9 pts disease progression (DP). In 21 tumor sample was observed an intense TILS. These patients obtained a better ORR 42.6 % vs 21.7% with low TILs in his tumor samples. The difference was statistically significant (p: 0.001). Regarding NLR, only 9 pts presented response with NLR > 2,6 vs 12 pts with response and RNL < 2.6. The difference was not statistically significant. When analyzing the smoking and response. We could observe response of 69.6% in smoking pts vs Non- smoking the response was 41.7%. Regarding BMI, 21 pts with response of 27% and 14 patient without response 25.9%. But the differences were not significant in any groups. Conclusions: We conclude that the presence of TILS in tumor samples, in patients with MIBC, could be a predictive factor against the response to neoadjuvant treatment. With the other variables, smoking and BMI, we did not observed influence in ORR. We will keep working to obtain a greater number of patients. Then we could have a better analysis and statistical power.

e15518 Background: Colon tumors are a heterogeneous group of disease. As a result of the accumulation of different genetic and epigenetic alterations, the mutation of the RAS, BRAF oncogene and microsatellite instability stands out. A new line of research are immunological and inflammatory factors, the infiltrating lymphocytes of the tumor stroma (TILs) and the neutrophil to lymphocyte radio (NLR) have been studied by our work team. We understood could that these factors were associated with the survival rate in our patients. The main objective of this reseach is to determine the relationship between NLR and progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with advanced colon cancer. Secondary objective is to determine the relationship between the location of the primary tumor, RAS status, TILs, and PFS. in the same group of patients. Methods: A total of 93 medical records of patients with advanced colon cancer was analyzed. Those pts who had recieved first-line chemotherapy treatment with a FOLFOX scheme plus a monoclonal antibody were included. All patients had to have a minimum follow-up of 12 months. Regarding NLR, the patients were classified into two groups: high ( = > 4) and low ( < 4). Four TILs cut-off points were determined: > 40% intense; between 11-40% moderate, 1-10% mild, and 0% absent, which were group into two categories: intense and moderate; slight and absent. Localization was divided into left and right, and KRAS status was divided into mutated and wild-type (WT). PFS was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier test. Results: The median PFS of the general population was 8.74 (7.39-11.07) months. The median PFS was 9.86 (7.82-13.41) vs 5.09 (4.43-10.84) months for low and high NLR respectively, with statistical significance (p: 0.01). When the percentage of patients without progression after one year of treatment was analyzed, the difference was 45% vs 14% in favor of NLR < 4 on ≥4, this difference was also statistically significant (p: 0.02). PFS in relation to TILs after one year of follow up was 33% (8.61 months) for moderate-intense infiltrate vs 30% of mild-absent (7.10 months). PFS was 9.79 months for KRAS WT pts vs 7.82 months for mutated KRAS. In terms of location, PFS was 9.79 months for the left colon vs 8.28 months for the right colon. These factors did not have a statistically significant difference. Conclusions: The results of the study show how NLR < 4 is a prognostic factor with a positive impact on PFS. It should be noted that the median survival rates were numerically higher in moderate-intense vs mild-absent TILs, also in KRAS WT vs mutated and in left vs right location. It should also be noted that the possibly there was not a statistically significant difference between them due to the limited number of patients per what we will continue working on in the recruitment and analysis of these patients.

The Optical Flow computation is the estimation of the apparent displacement of the object on an image sequence (actual image and next image). There are different methods for Optical Flow estimation, standing out exhaustive methods and differential methods. Differential Methods propose a model that considers the error in the Optical flow estimation. This model is minimized solving the Euler-Lagrange equations of linearized versions of the functional terms like in the differential model developed by Horn & Schunck. The exhaustive methods take a point and his environment in the actual image and search for the more similar in the next image like in the Steinbucker model of Exhaustive Search. In this paper is presented the implementation of the differential methods of Horn & Schunck and the Steinbucker's exhaustive “variational” method. Additionally it is posed a new method that combines the differential method and the exhaustive one. With the use of the integral image and a cost volume it manages to obtain a processing time reduction of the exhaustive methods close to a 98% in comparison to a similar implementation in Matlab. Through the implementation of the combined methods it is possible to reach below 15 degrees in average angular error (AAE).

e12042 Background: Current evidence makes reference to the potential role that tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) as a prognostic factor in breast cancer and numerous types of tumors. Different studies have shown that the interaction with the immune response of the host is relevant to the response to chemotherapy. TILs are cell phenotype T CD3 +, which can, in turn, stratify in cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CD8), and regulatory T cells (CD4+ CD25+ FOXP3+).Our aim was to identify whether there was a relationship between TILs and SLE in patients with stage I to III breast cancer who have undergone chemotherapy adjuvant treatment. The secondary endpoint was to analyze the association between subtype infiltrating lymphocytes (CD4 and CD8) and SLE. Methods: Retrospective and analytical study in our institution IONC. Patients with stage I to III breast cancer was analized which had standard risk factors and required adjuvant treatment with chemotherapy. 87 patients completed with the selection criteria. The infiltration degree by H/E was evaluated and CD4 and CD8 by IHQ was marked. SLE was analyzed through the Kaplan-Meier method. Results: 87 samples were analyzed, in 46 patients (52,8 %) evidenced TILs and in 41 patients (47.12%) there were no TILs in their tumor samples. SLE was higher for those patients who had TILs with respect to those patients who did not have any TILs, 45.3 months as opposed to 30.85 months respectively (p: 0,038) and these differences were statistically different. In the TILi analysis, it could observed that 91% patients not revealed infiltrations in their tumor samples.When correlating CD4 and CD8 was carried out, 33% of the patients showed CD4 TILs in their tumor samples and 49.4% evidenced CD8 TILs. There were no SLE differences regarding the presence or the absence of CD4. The high number of CD8 was associated to a higher SLE; 39.06 months as opposed to 37.5 months, but these differences were not statistically different. Conclusions: We could conclude that patients who had showed TILs in their tumor samples had a higher SLE with respect to those who did not show any infiltration and this was statistically significant. There were no differences when samples were analyzed on the presence or absence of CD4 and CD8.

e23034 Background: In kidney cancer, some important prognostic factors of survival are known and inflammation plays a key role. It has been proven that cancer progress is not only determined by the characteristics of the tumor but also by the response of the host. It is known that a high RNL has been identified as an independent prognostic factor associated to poor survival in several/different types of cancer, including breast cancer, colon cancer, gastric cancer, mesothelioma and pancreas. The primary aim was to evaluate if RNL can be used as a prognostic indicator of SLP in patients with advanced CCR with 1st line treatment with tirosin-kinasa inhibitors. The secondary aim was to evaluate whether there was a relationship between prognostic factors, smoking habits, BMI, anemia, calcemia, KPS and nephrectomized patients as opposed to those who were not operated with RNL and SLP. Methods: Retrospective and analytical study. The medical histories from patients with metastatic kidney cancer diagnosis were analyzed as well as those who were undergoing treatment with Sunitinib and Pazopanib. The cut value of > ó < 3 was taken as a reference point for RNL. Overall survival analysis will be evaluated through the Kaplan-Meier curve and the meaning will be verified by the log-rank test. The multivariate analysis will be done through the Chi-square test. Results: A total of 65 patients were included in this study. 50 patients (75.38%) received treatment with Sunitinib and 15 patients (24.62%) with Pazopanib. It was observed that RNL < 3 was correlated with a higher SLP 21,6 months vs 8.9 months, p = 0,00002 and it was statistically significant. In subgroup analysis, those patients with normal values of corrected calcium the survival was 20 months vs 12, 2 months (p: 0.01), non-smokers 21 months vs 12 months (p: 0.05), KPS > 1 17,72 months Vs 8,8 months (p: 0.03) and a RNL < 3 showed a higher survival in a statistically significant way. There were no differences in survival when we performed the anemia analysis, BMI, smoking habits and KPS 0 to 1. Conclusions: We can conclude that those patients with RNL < 3 and who had already undergone treatment with ITK revealed a better SLP in a statistically significant way.

e16100 Background: To determine, according to BMI, whether overweight and obesity in patients with high risk prognosis in prostate cancer is associated to a shorter disease-free period. Methods: We conducted a retrospective and descriptive study of the population from Instituto Oncológico de Córdoba, in patients with prostate cancer. Prostatectomized, with a high risk according to the College of American Phathologists Consensus Statement served between the year 2000 and 2010, we observed that 52 patients met these characteristics with a average age of 70.16 years, range of 48-87 and those were divided into two groups according to their BMI in equal or greater value than 26 and in another group those in equal or smaller than 25. Results: From the 52 patients, 27 (51.92%) had a BMI equal or greater than 26, those who experienced relapse, in average, at 25.33 months; while 25 patients (48,08%) had a BMI equal or smaller than 25, with an average relapse time of 28.35 months, presenting a p=0.11 Conclusions: We observed that patients with overweight and obesity had a tendency towards relapse before patients with a normal BMI. Further sample size would be needed to establish statistically significant differences.

e11501 Background: To demonstrate the compliance of radiotherapy and chemotherapy with concomitant taxanes by avoiding delays initiation of that treatment Methods: Retrospective, observational, and descriptive. We analyzed the medical records of 50 patients from June 2006 to December 2010 with an average follow up of 27.26 months (9 months to 56 months), in which all completed conservative surgery. The chemotherapy used was AC x 4 cycles (doxorubicin 60 mg/m2, Cyclophosphamide 600 mg/m2 on day 1 every 21 days) followed by weekly paclitaxel 80 mg/m2 for twelve weeks, concomitant with radiation in the affected breast. Standardized treatment was indicated to patients with positive hormone receptors. Results: Patients`s age averaged 53.58 years (33 years and 74 years) All patients received the planned chemotherapy, with a delay of 63.24 days, from the surgery to the first cycle of chemotherapy (20 days to 110 days. The radiation treatment was initiated in 143.4 days (90 to 205 days) on average after the surgical treatment.It was reported that 8% (n = 4) discontinued the treatment due to the toxicity of the radiation therapy: actinic dermatitis grade 3 and 4. The average number of days without radiation therapy due to toxicity was 6 days (3 to 9 days).With respect to chemotherapy, 22% (11) interrupted it because of hematologic toxicities (neutropenia, thrombocytopenia), constitutional toxicities (fatigue) and arthralgias. Regarding chemotherapy, the average time without treatment was 18 days (1 to 4 cycles).There were no cardiac or lung related adverse events. All other toxicities were well tolerated with concomitant medication. Conclusions: In our population, it is possible to carry out concomitant chemo-radiotherapy with acceptable early toxicities and compliance in patients with breast cancer.

The body mass index (BMI) indicates relationship between weight and height and is used to identify obesity, which is associated with increased risk of cancer. Studies have shown the worst prognosis of obese patients undergoing adjuvant therapy. This paper aims to assess progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in relation to BMI, in patients with advanced breast cancer. e18125 Background: Platinum based regimens are standard first-line treatment in patients with advanced non mall cell lung cancer. We intend to evaluate their effectiveness according to the number of cycles administered, and investigate whether histology is a predictor of benefit from a greater number of infusions. Methods: 124 patients with stage IV NSCLC were evaluated retrospectively. They were divided according to whether they made 4 or 6 cycles of chemotherapy. The schemes used were: Cisplatin / Gemcitabine and Carboplatin / Paclitaxel, at standard doses. We studied the efficacy in both groups according to the most common histologies (adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma). PFS (progression-free survival) and OS (overall survival) were calculated by the Kaplan-Meier curves and compared by the Log Rank Test. Results: Those who underwent 4 cycles had a PFS of 7.77 months and OS of 12.2 months vs. 8.64 and 10.8 months those who received 6 cycles (p = 0.47, p = 0.76). Within the subgroup with squamous histology (n = 43), PFS and OS were 7.38 and 13.38 months respectively in the group that received 4 cycles vs. 7.97 and 9.76 months in those receiving 6 (p = 0.70, p = 0.32 ). Within adenocarcinoma histology (n = 81), those who received 4 cycle, has a PFS of 8.17 months and they lived 11.56 month, vs 8.96 and 10.79 months for those receiving 6 cycles (p = 0.29, p = 0.88) Conclusions: In our population, a greater number of cycles showed no advantages in terms of progression-free survival or overall survival. Histology is not a predictive factor for deciding how many chemotherapy cycles administer.
