Objective To evaluate the accuracy of interobserver diagnostic methods of the type of footprint among running athletes using three evaluation methods: physical examination, podoscopy, and baropodometry compared with radiographic measurement of Meary angles and calcaneal pitch. Methods This is a cross-sectional study of athletes who practice running. The inclusion criteria were: individuals with minimum age of 18 years and maximum age of 65, male or female, healthy and without comorbidities that interfere with running performance; regular practitioners who run at least twice a week; body mass index between 18.5 and 29.99 Kg/m2; acceptance of the written informed consent form (WICF). The non-inclusion criteria included: presence of previous or active injuries that compromise sports activity; previous foot surgeries; obesity. Forty patients were selected, 29 (72.5%) male and 11 (27.5%) female, whose mean age was 39 years (minimum 19 years and maximum 61 years). The body mass index (BMI) of the 40 patients ranged from 21.00 to 29.99 kg/m2 (mean 25.48 kg/m2 with standard deviation of 2.39 kg/m2 and a median of 25.50 kg/m2). We excluded those with values above 29.99. Running frequency ranged from 2 to 5 times per week (average 3.13 times per week, with standard deviation of 0.79 times per week and median of 3 times per week). Physical examination, podoscopy, and baropodometry were performed, and their evaluation was made by 4 examiners. Additionally, the results were compared with the radiographic classification of the footprint type obtained by measuring the Meary angles and the calcaneal pitch. Results The interobserver agreement of these parameters was verified by the weighted Kappa agreement index, in which we obtained a significant agreement between the participants considering physical examination, podoscopy, and baropodometry, and according to the Kappa index. The agreement was marginal when comparing the results of the three methods with the radiographic angular classification. Conclusion We obtained excellent agreement among observers when considering physical examination, podoscopy, and baropodometry for the diagnosis of the footprint type among runners. However, when comparing the results obtained with the radiographic measurements, the agreement for the diagnosis of footprint type was low.

It is presented the development of an optoelectronic interrogation system (OIS) in a closed-loop control for Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors applied to AC signal measurements. It is based on the twin grating technique, in which an FBG is modulating a sensing-FBG. A microcontroller is employed to perform reflection measurements of the FBGs, and a closed-loop control is implemented in firmware to keep the filter-FBG tracking the sensing-FBG under temperature variations, with a thermoelectric actuator (TEC). The OIS was tested with a high-voltage sensor prototype under the thermal variation of 29◦C to 50◦C and the experimental results showed that the interrogation system is capable of keeping the filter-FBG tracking the sensing-FBG with a maximum deviation of 5×10−3 pm from the optimum point even under the influence of temperature. An analysis of the frequency domain of the AC signals showed that the OIS is able to perform accurate measurements at the operating point of least distortion possible. In addition, it can also be adapted for the monitoring of vibrations, such as in the maintenance of engines and turbines, and in the seismic vibrations.

This article aims to analyze the impeachment process of the paraguayan president Fernando Lugo in the year 2012, compare with other attempts of presidential removal in the country and then connect it with the impasses in bilateral relations between Paraguay and Brazil during his administration. In order to find na unity that characterizes post-democratic paraguayan instability and to singularize the Lugo’s process of constitutional removal, it’s consulted for this work the latin american political instability literature, from Samuel Huntington (1994) to Aníbal Pérez-Líñan (2007). This process has similar characteristics with other attempts of political removal in the country, but the absence of a “responsability crime” and the lack of international support point to new forms of solving conflicts between the powers that violate the ules of the democratic game.

Log-spiral beaches display defined physical gradients alongshore. However, the majority of studies focus on the variability of a single population of macrofauna species. We aimed to investigate the variation in species distribution and in community structure along ten transects on a log-spiral beach. Principal component analysis indicated a clear physical gradient alongshore. Redundancy analysis showed that the sheltered end was related to smaller particle sizes, higher organic matter content and high densities of polychaetes. The exposed end was characterized by coarser sand, lower organic matter content and a high presence of crustaceans. Model selection indicated that the “best fit” to explain the variability in the number of individuals included grain size and beach slope. Variability of the polychaete Scolelepis squamata was best explained by grain size, slope and sediment sorting. The best model for the cirolanid Excirolana armata only included sediment sorting. The physical gradient in sediment texture and the beach slope explained more than one-third of the variability in community structure. The physical variables were also correlated with the distribution of the individual species. We showed that the physical gradient on log-spiral coasts may be an important driver of macrofauna variability, even at mesoscales and in dissipative conditions., Las playas en espiral muestran gradientes físicos definidos a lo largo de su recorrido.

- Abstract
Several studies have been conducted to explain patterns of the abundance, richness and diversity of sandy-beach macrofauna; however, such analyses have ignored the overall functional structure of macrofauna communities. Few studies have examined polychaete feeding guilds on sandy beach environments. To examine the effects of environmental factors on polychaete feeding guilds on sandy beaches, 12 sandy beaches from five islands in Sepetiba Bay were sampled. A total of 24 polychaete morphospecies, grouped among 21 families, were identified in these sandy beaches. The polychaete species were classified into 10 feeding guilds, and the SDT guild (suspended-deposit feeders, discretely motile, with tentacles) was the most abundant feeding guild, with 34.2% of total number of organisms. The highest trophic importance index and index of trophic diversity values were recorded on the sheltered beaches. A canonical correspondence analysis showed that the exposure rate, beach length, and grain size of the beach sediment significantly affected the polychaete feeding guild distribution and abundance. We can conclude that sheltered beaches have a higher diversity of feeding guilds than exposed beaches and that the biological descriptors of the feeding guilds are directly associated with the grain size of the sediment. The population biology and secondary production of the bivalves Anomalocardia brasiliana (Gmelin, 1791) and Diplodonta punctata (Say, 1822) were studied on a sheltered beach on the southeast coast of Brazil (Flexeiras Beach) between December 2006 and February 2009. Six transects were established perpendicular to the shoreline. Along each transect, sampling units (SUs) were extracted every 3 m, with a 0.04 m metal sampler and to a depth of 25 cm, from the base of the boulder wall until 9 m below the waterline during low tide. The abundances of A. brasiliana and D. punctata were inversely correlated over time. The populations differed in several aspects: (1) A. brasiliana occupied mainly the upper levels, whereas D. punctata occupied the lower level of the beach; (2) total abundance, growth rate, and production were higher for A. brasiliana; and (3) mortality and turnover rate were higher for D. punctata. The differences in growth, mortality, and production parameters may be associated with a difference in the species' abilities to exploit resources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Macrofauna of sheltered and pocket beaches located in embayments, estuaries or landward of protective reefs has not been adequately assessed in beach ecology. In this setting, the concurrent role of large-scale morphodynamics and wave-exposure gradients in shaping biological patterns is still uncertain. To examine variations in community descriptors and the influence of physical factors on macrofauna, 12 sandy beaches on five islands within Sepetiba Bay (SE Brazil) were characterized in terms of beach morphodynamics and dimensions (length and width), such as geographical position relative to the bay mouth. A total of 80 species were collected and identified. Community descriptors of macrofauna responded to morphodynamics and exposure gradients. Increases in species richness, and abundance, from harsh reflective (coarse sands, steep slopes) to benign dissipative (fine sands, gentle slopes) beaches, and from the bay mouth (exposed beaches) towards the inner bay (sheltered beaches) were observed. Mollusks were the most abundant macrofaunal group, followed by crustaceans and polychaetes. Crustaceans dominated the beaches near the bay mouth, whereas mollusks were more abundant on the beaches farther from the bay mouth. Canonical correspondence analysis showed that the degree of exposure, distance from the bay mouth, beach index, and beach length and width significantly affected the macrofauna distribution and abundance, creating an environmental gradient along Sepetiba Bay. Differences in macrofauna composition among the beaches studied were associated with beach length and width. In this sense, spatial variation of macrofauna among beaches can be a function of intertidal area. These results indicate that community characteristics in the sandy beaches studied are affected by several physical characteristics, but also by other factors that are affected by coastal processes. - Abstract
Recruitment maneuvers and positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP)/tidal ventilation titration in acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS) are the cornerstone of mechanical ventilatory support. The net result of these possible adjustments in ventilatory parameters is the interaction of the pressure applied in the respiratory system (airway pressure/end expiratory pressure) counterbalanced by chest wall configuration/abdominal pressure along the mechanical ventilatory support duration. Refinements in the ventilatory adjustments in ALI/ARDS are necessary for minimizing the biotrauma in this still life-threatening clinical problem.

The present work brings to discussion the Social Property of land in Mexico, since it has been decreasing the studies in this regard being that it still occupies this modality of land ownership little more than 50% of the Mexican territory. It discusses the paradigms in this regard and how it has been approached in most cases, this notion under the legal gaze, that is, its historical and structural conformation according to the creation of agrarian laws. With the structural reforms of 1992, Mexico reformulated certain aspects of Social Property that various sources mention are not entirely known the scope of these at present. Therefore, it is at the level of the study of parceled land where the concrete practices that occur daily in the field and their relationship with the reforms can be revealed. On the other hand, we want to enrich the methodological forms by which Social Property is studied, proposing a method under the logic of systems thinking, that is, that from the discussion in the forms of study of Social Property the problem is approached as a system. In addition, the current economic, political, social and commercial configuration is considered with that of world-economy according to the analysis of world-systems, so it is assumed in the first place the transformation of the social relations embedded on the economic ones, as well as the relations of dependence between the countries towards the powers and the long-lasting processes that explain the current configuration. For this reason, we considered the study of two historical moments that directly determined the concept of Social Property, the first is the relationship that is usually made of it with communal property according to most historiographical studies, and, therefore, the discussion of epistemological basis for this assumption. Another important moment to be analyzed is the period of Agrarian Reform because the current structure - according to the Law - was configured as such during this period, already incorporating the economic context that partially determines it, which is known as "stabilizing development". And finally, the current study through the accumulation of documentary, theoretical reviews and a multi-case study in the State of Oaxaca in five agrarian nuclei. From the perspective of the analysis of world-systems, it incorporates the idea of unifying activity that organizes, hierarchizes, articulates and reproduces at a given historical moment, what different authors call as totality, that is, the system. This notion is studied under the logic of the conceptagon for the structuring of the system and the DPSIR framework (driver, pressures, state, impact, responses) in which the driver is proposed as an element that allows to determine this unifying activity. In short, it is proposed that the study of Social Property must consider historical elements of its origin, conformation and the current dynamics of it. From this, three articles were made that correspond to the three specific objectives that study each historical moment raised as systems and presents the conceptual models derived from these analyses that study the agrarian dynamics. It is considered that the proposed method is a tool for the analysis of the agrarian dynamics of Social Property, since in each article it was possible to obtain relationships and processes between the various elements that make up its dynamics.

- Abstract
Objective To evaluate the accuracy of interobserver diagnostic methods of the type of footprint among running athletes using three evaluation methods: physical examination, podoscopy, and baropodometry compared with radiographic measurement of Meary angles and calcaneal pitch. Methods This is a cross-sectional study of athletes who practice running. The inclusion criteria were: individuals with minimum age of 18 years and maximum age of 65, male or female, healthy and without comorbidities that interfere with running performance; regular practitioners who run at least twice a week; body mass index between 18.5 and 29.99 Kg/m
2 ; acceptance of the written informed consent form (WICF). The body mass index (BMI) of the 40 patients ranged from 21.00 to 29.99 kg/m2 (mean 25.48 kg/m2 with standard deviation of 2.39 kg/m2 and a median of 25.50 kg/m2 ). However, when comparing the results obtained with the radiographic measurements, the agreement for the diagnosis of footprint type was low., Competing Interests: Conflito de Interesses Os autores declaram não haver conflito de interesses.- Published
