We surveyed 1,684 students from Grades 7 through 12 on their use of inhalants and the types of circumstances they perceived as stressful. Inhalant users were classified as abstainers, experimental, and regular users. Male abstainers were found to exhibit lower (p≤ .05) mean stress scores as compared to males in the experimental and regular user groups. Among females, abstainers exhibited lower (p≤ .05) mean stress scores than regular users but did not differ (p≤ .05) with experimental users. For both males and females, the largest mean differences between abstainers and regular users occurred in the area of teachers. Educators should consider inclusion of stress management and the teaching of coping skills in drug education programs.

Students' smoking status was classified as either none, light, medium, or heavy use while over-all stress levels were either low, medium, or high. Nonsmoking boys had significantly lower over-all mean stress scores than all others while heavy users had significantly greater perceived stress scores than all other categories. Among girls, regular and heavy users reported significantly higher over-all stress scores than either nonsmokers or occasional users. Those items reported as causing the highest level of perceived stress among smoking boys were school work, money, and parents while among smoking girls the items were appearance, parents, and money.

The article discusses the importance for U.S. pharmacies to perform a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) self-assessment. The HIPAA calls on pharmacies and other health care professionals to safeguard a patient's protected health information (PHI) which contains information about a patients condition, care and treatment provided, and cost of treatment. Pharmacies are also encouraged to check whether any PHI in their possession is exposed.

The article discusses the data of pharmacy errors highlighting Pharmacists Mutual Cos.' Claims Study. It states that most of the errors come from patients receiving the wrong drug, mechanical error claims, and compounding errors. It adds that work has began to integrate the Claims Study data with other data in pharmacy to make information more useful to the development of risk management programs. A chart depicting the results of the 2010 Claims Study are also presented.

The author comments on John Naber's letter in the August 24 to 30, 2009 issue. He states that no one can argue what National Broadcasting Company Inc. (NBC) has done in promoting and televising the Games. He adds that Naber's letter announces to a memory what incredible vision and leadership was supplied by Ted Turner, Robert Wussler, and Harvey Schiller.

An interview with several experts in the real estate industry is presented. They include Don McGuire, manager of Professional Contractors Inc. in Bismarck, North Dakota, Keith Rupert, Chairman of the Board of CTA Architects and Engineers in Billings, Montana, and Ken Miehl, manager of Mike's Building Supply in Wisconsin. When asked how the tight market credits are affecting commercial building and real estate sales in their areas, they said that no significant effects have been felt but a downturn is anticipated due to the slump in housing construction.
