Objective: The present technical report aimed at presenting a research agenda regarding the influence of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) on academic research about export, interna- tionalisation, and foreign trade for academia, policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders. Method: We pursued a case study approach divided in a two-stage process. Firstly, we systematically reviewed 35 articles related to ApexBrasil's influence on scientific research. Secondly, we analysed official documents and conferences, besides consulting a panel of specialists from ApexBrasil, in order to propose the research agenda. Main Results: Firstly, the results suggested that the knowledge about ApexBrasil's influence on scientific research is scattered in different journals, researchers, and themes; furthermore, many studies do not have an impact on the international academy. Secondly, based on the data analysed, we propose a research agenda that might narrow the gap between ApexBrasil, academia, and other stakeholders. Relevance / Originality: The findings suggest unique insights about how and to what extent ApexBrasil's influence is reported by scientific research and show which themes for future investigations are aligned with the agency's interests, as well as the interests of its stakeholders in a scenario affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Theoretical / Methodological Contributions: Our main contributions consist in a research agenda proposal based on theoretical and practical perspectives developed as a technical report. By doing so, we seek to raise awareness of academia, practitioners, and policymakers about ApexBrasil's influence and potential relevance for international business studies, whilst pointing out important research gaps in the literature and potential new research avenues. This study aims to proposed and validate a scale of organizational structure components (SOSC) from the latent components identified in the exploratory study by Trigueiro-Fernandes (2014), inspired by the design parameters of Mintzberg (2012). The survey was conducted in 26 public and private organizational units. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was employed to assess the SOSC model properties and whether they fit the theory. The results show that the scale has acceptable goodness of fit, verifiable through adjustment indexes such as X²/df, RMSEA, CFI, TLI, and SRMR, as well as composite reliability, convergent and discriminant validity tests. The identified organizational structure components were formalization, communication, decentralization, training and internalization, departmentalization, and hierarchy. The results allow us to infer that the structure is the means by which the interactions between people and processes are organized and as coordination mechanisms for achieving the organizational mission are identified. This study aims to analyze the relative efficiency of graduate programs in terms of the quality of their scientific publications in journals. To this end, we applied Data Envelopment Analysis to the fields of Public and Business Administration, Accounting, and Tourism, using data from the 2017 Quadrennial Evaluation developed by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior ["Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel", CAPES]. The results suggest that efficient graduate programs are concentrated in the center-south axis of Brazil, in the areas of Administration and Accounting. Despite the overall publishing strategy in journals of various ranks (strata), efficient graduate programs allocate their efficiency primarily to Qualis A1 journals, A1 being the excellence rating in the CAPES scale. We conclude that legitimized research practices pressure graduate programs to improve the quality of their publications while threatening the survival of programs that fail to conform to the assessment rules. This teaching case aims to understand how incremental cost analysis can be applied in decision-making. The case portrays a fishing company in the segment that suffered a disruption in demand from the international market as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its managers, who already acted to mitigate previous financial problems, now need to decide how to dispose of fish production during the pandemic. The case encourages the development of analytical competence on the impact of a rupture in demand, the identification of relevant costs for decision-making from an income statement, and managerial decision-making based on incremental cost analyzes. This case, based on interviews and estimated accounting data, was designed for undergraduate and graduate courses focused on costs in the areas of Business and Accounting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this paper was to analyze the performance of the Fama-French five-factor model in the Brazilian stock market, in comparison to the three-and four-factor models, as well as to verify whether there are risk premiums associated to the anomalies size, book-to-market index, momentum, profitability and investment. Thus, we sought to analyze the efficiency of these models as a tool to support financial decision making in risk conditions. For this, the Fama-MacBeth methodology was used. The results of the first step regressions suggested that the Fama-French five-factor model presents the best performance in explaining the stock returns when compared to the others. However, in the results of the second step regressions, there were not found risk premiums associated to the profitability and investment factors, added to the three-factor model. Only the risks related to market, size, and book-to-market index consistently explained the crosssection of stock returns. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Developing a strategic planning contribute to guarantee the survival of the enterprise. Product development management extrapolates traditional strategic planning in Technology-Based Companies (TBCs) located in incubators. In Brazil, Centro de Referência para apoio a Novos Empreendimentos (CERNE) was implemented as a manual of good practices in Business Incubators Management in the whole country. Thus, the central aim of this study is to propose a model of strategic planning based on the guidelines of CERNE, specifically in the CERNE1, which is focused on enterprises using a case study of Centro Tecnológico de Desenvolvimento Regional de Viçosa (CENTEV/UFV). The proposed model focuses on three main standard documents: Estudo de Viabilidade Técnica, Econômica, Comercial, e do Impacto Ambiental e Social (EVTECIAS), Business Plan and report financial performance. These standard documents are requested by the incubator to participate through a series of incubation stages. This study used an action research methodology and a documentary research to analyze the data collected for structuring the proposal. This paper argues that the proposed model is aligned to the practices of the CENTEV/UFV Technology Incubator. Future research can potentially use the model in other Brazilian incubators that implement a document management system and good practices of CERNE for developing a strategic planning.
