In 2021, the Chinese government proposed the “Double Reduction” policy, and the process of this policy contains many complicating factors. Due to this policy's significant influence on Chinese education, this article will utilize Kingdon’s multiple streams framework to discuss the policy-making process. And this research will help to illustrate and recognize the necessity and rationality of the “Double Reduction” policy. The common sense of study anxiety and the capitalism of education resources formed the problem stream; the suggestions from scholars and entrepreneurs led those problems to be noticed by the governance and put on the policy agenda with good preparation from the previous education reform policies, leading to the policy stream; At the same time, the public sentiment and the government's emphasis on education combined to the political stream. At one particular time, those three streams merge to open the policy window and promote the formation of the “Double Reduction” policy.

在红外和可见光图像融合算法中, 图像信息的丢失始终是制约融合图像质量提升的关键问题, 为此, 提出了一种基于拆分注意力残差网络的红外和可见光图像融合算法, 使用带有拆分注意力模块的深层残差网络拓展感受野和提高跨通道信息融合能力, 运用平滑最大值单元函数作为激活函数进一步提升网络性能; 特征提取后运用零相位分量分析和归一化算法得到融合权重后完成图像融合。实验结果表明, 融合后的图像细节丰富, 边缘锐利; 在峰值信噪比、结构相似性指数度量和基于梯度的融合性能等指标上与经典的6种算法相比均有不同程度提升。

Alternative polyadenylation (APA) is an important posttranscriptional modification commonly involved in tumor development. However, the functional roles of APA in tumor immunity remain largely unknown. Here, we performed an in-depth analysis of the 3′UTR usage of protein-coding genes and tumor immune response in 10,303 tumor samples across 31 cancer types to develop the immune-related APA event (ImmAPA) score pipeline, an integrated algorithm to characterize the regulatory landscape of APA events in cancer immunity–related pathways. Tumor-specific ImmAPAs that strongly correlate with immune cell infiltration and immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) treatment–related biomarkers were identified. Among these ImmAPAs, the top-ranking COL1A1 3′UTR usage was strongly associated with worse prognosis and tumor immune evasion. Furthermore, a machine learning approach to construct an ICB-related ImmAPA score model predicted immunotherapy efficacy. Overall, the characterization of immune-related APA that corresponds to tumor progression and tumor immunity highlights the clinical utility of APA events as potential biomarkers in cancer immunotherapy. Significance: Elucidation of the landscape of immune-related alternative polyadenylation in cancer identifies alternative polyadenylation events that may play a role in immune modulation and immunotherapy efficacy.

Orchestrated apoptosis in planarian Dugesia japonica is very important for its degrowth and regeneration. Apoptosis Inhibitor-5 (API5) is an anti-apoptotic factor that negatively regulates cell apoptosis. We characterized the conserved structure of DjApi5, however, the biological function of DjApi5 in planarians needs further investigation. In this study, we found that DjApi5 and its interacting molecular DjAcinus are required for planarian homeostasis, which may be correlated with their specific localization in neoblasts in addition to their anti-apoptosis functions. We further demonstrated the increased expression of DjApi5 during planarian regeneration, and DjApi5 deficiency affects normal regeneration processes. These results indicated new functions of DjApi5 in development.

By applying Multi-Dimensional Analysis, this study has provided a thorough description of the lexico-grammatical characteristics of courtroom discourse to see to what extent it employs both linguistic features of oral registers and literate registers. In particular, this study focuses on language used in the four public sub-registers (opening statements, direct examinations, cross-examinations, closing arguments) of courtroom discourse and analyzes how oral/literate each sub-register is, instead of characterizing courtroom discourse as oral/literate overall. Detailed interpretation of results focuses on Dimension 1 (involved and interactive vs. informational production) and 2 (narrative vs. non-narrative discourse) as these two dimensions are identified as universal parameters of register variation (Biber, 2014). A corpus of high-profile courtroom trials was compiled for this study that includes the O. J. Simpson criminal trial, the Boston Marathon bombing trial, and the Oklahoma bombing trial.

As a typical organism of platyhelminth, Dugesia japonica attracts more and more attention for its strong regenerative ability. Protein arginine methyltransferase (PRMT) family is composed of a class of enzymes with methyltransferase activities, which play fundamental roles in vivo in many important physiological processes. PRMT1 is a predominant type Ⅰ PRMT, which has been reported to be expressed in Schmidtea mediterranea. Nevertheless, the existence and the specific biological functions of PRMT1 in Dugesia japonica need further investigation. In this study, we acquired the full-length sequence of DjPRMT1 and confirmed it was a conserved protein. Thereafter, whole-mount in situ hybridization results showed DjPRMT1 was mainly expressed in neoblasts of adult worms, and obvious aggregation of DjPRMT1 was observed at the wound site in early stages of regeneration. Silencing of the DjPRMT1 gene retarded the movement of planarians with decreased DjPIWI-A expression, and DjPRMT1 knockdown also affected planarian regeneration with slightly attenuated proliferation around the blastema of posterior-facing wounds regeneration. In summary, these preliminary results demonstrated DjPRMT1 was involved in the regeneration of planarian.

The last two decades have witnessed a rising interest in modulating the physicochemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) through cocrystallization. The present study reports a new cocrystal of antimicrobial drug metronidazole (MNZ) using pyrogallol (PYR) as a cocrystal former, namely the MNZ–PYR cocrystal. The crystal structure of the MNZ–PYR cocrystal is studied by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and density functional theory calculations. The MNZ–PYR cocrystal shows an increased dissolution rate compared to MNZ due to the high energy conformer of PYR in the crystal lattice of the cocrystal. The formation of the MNZ–PYR cocrystal leads to a color shift from white (raw MNZ and PYR) to yellow, which is characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy and interpreted theoretically by means of time-dependent density functional theory calculations. The results suggest that the cocrystal strategy may be used for color tuning of APIs, offering opportunities for formulation development.

Freshwater planarian Dugesia japonica is an excellent model organism for investigating stem cell behavior during regeneration. Despite studies showing that numerous genetic factors are involved in regeneration, much more research is required to fully understand the molecular mechanisms that orchestrate regeneration. In this study, we identified an evolutionarily conserved gene DjPtpn11(DjShp2). DjPtpn11 transcripts are expressed in neoblasts and some differentiated cells, with a high expression at the newly formed blastema. Its silencing by RNA interference (RNAi) affected anterior regeneration and inhibited the regeneration of posterior regions, including cholinergic and serotonergic neuron regeneration. In adult planarians, DjPtpn11 knockdown did not affect neoblast survival and proliferation but might prevent the stem cell migration and differentiation through ERK signaling. DjPtpn11 was demonstrated to be necessary for the anterior blastema cell differentiation partially via regulating ERK-DjMkpA activity. DjPtpn11 also influenced posterior specification via DjIslet, suggesting that DjPtpn11 may be involved in regulating the Wnt signaling pathway during the development of posterior blastema. Together, these data identified that DjPtpn11 is an essential modulator for the regeneration of planarians, and it may influence the appropriate differentiation of blastema cells.

The traditional radar emitter identification method based on the five parameters of the pulse is difficult to achieve the desired effect in today’s abnormally dense electromagnetic environment. Modern radars often impose intentional modulation in the signal to improve the anti-jamming and low interception performance. Therefore, a radar emitter identification method based on the spectrum resemblance coefficient is proposed in this paper, which reflects the approximation degree between the signal spectrum and various basis functions by calculating the resemblance coefficients between them. Simulation results show that the method proposed in this paper has strong anti-interference capability and can effectively distinguish different types of intra-pulse modulated radar signals.

Apoptosis, also named programmed cell death, is a highly conserved physiological mechanism. Apoptosis plays crucial roles in many life processes, such as tissue development, organ formation, homeostasis maintenance, resistance against external aggression, and immune responses. Apoptosis is regulated by many genes, among which Apoptosis Inhibitor-5 (API5) is an effective inhibitor, though the structure of API5 is completely different from the other known Inhibitors of Apoptosis Proteins (IAPs). Due to its high expression in many types of tumors, API5 has received extensive attention, and may be an effective target for cancer treatment. In order to comprehensively and systematically understand the biological roles of API5, we summarized the evolution and structure of API5 and its roles in anti-apoptosis in this review.

An integrated high-speed data injection and emergency measurement and control system is produced in this paper, which is based on forward link of relay satellite. In this system, the relay high-speed forward link is used as the satellite-to-ground transmission channel. The satellite receive the data and record it in the storage module. The data will be transmitted to each device through intra-satellite bus network according to the need of use. Through this system, the high-speed data injection on the ground can be completed, the injection efficiency can be greatly improved, and the requirements of functional maintenance and new additions can be quickly responded. And the ability of backing up TT&C upstream is acquired. When the multiple faults of transponder and remote control module can not be recovered, satellites can still carry out emergency TT&C for satellite through relay forward channel, which improves the survivability of satellite in fault state.

Direct formic acid fuel cells (DFAFCs) are a promising clean power source. To date, palladium (Pd)-based catalysts are the best promising anode catalyst for DFAFCs due to its high anti-poisoning ability and low cost. In this paper, we report a high-efficiency stable PdHx nanocatalyst towards DFAFCs. The PdHx nanocatalysts are prepared by simply treating the commercial Pd black with n-butylamine at relative low temperature (100–200 °C). They are extremely stable, and the as-prepared PdH0.43 nanocatalysts show extremely low overpotential for formic acid electrooxidation, with an oxidation peak potential of 0.04 V versus SCE (saturated calomel electrode). Meanwhile, the PdH0.43 exhibits as high as 3 times mass activity, 5 times specific activity and great catalytic stability, compared with the untreated commercial Pd black. The present strategy offers a convenient way to boost the performance of Pd nanocatalysts in DFAFCs.

The catalytic properties of noble metal nanocrystals can be tuned via engineering their structures. Nanocrystals with fractal structures are fascinating catalysts regarding their large surface area-to-volume ratios, large numbers of edges and corners, which can be tuned simultaneously by their hierarchical ordering. However, it is still a great challenge to control the hierarchical ordering of noble metal fractal nanocrystals and their formation mechanism is not fully understood. Herein, we report a facile solvothermal method for the direct preparation of a unique single-crystal Rh-hyperbranched structure, which consists of hierarchically ultrathin nanoplates with threefold symmetry, large surface area and high density of low-coordinated edge/corner sites. Importantly, the hierarchical ordering can be readily tuned by changing the composition of solvent. In addition, we found the as-prepared single-crystal hyperbranched Rh nanoplates possessed great structure stability, and exhibited better catalytic performance towards both ethanol electrooxidation and hydrogenation of styrene than the commercial Rh black, which can be attributed to the large surface area and high-dentisty of edge/corner sites.

Bacteriophage endolysins have long been demonstrated to be effective enzybiotics, and have the potential value in the areas of food, agricultural, and industrial science. Traditionally, extraction of recombinant proteins from bacterium E. coli is achieved by chemical, biological or mechanical disruption methods. Here, we present heat treatment, a simple and highly effective method that differs from the conventional ones, for disruption of E. coli cells to extract recombinant TSPphg, an endolysin originated from thermophilic bacteriophage TSP4. In addition, we found that exogenous TSPphg treatment is able to disrupt E. coli cell and release its intracellular proteins, suggesting its great potentiality to be developed as an alternative bacterial cell disruption method. Moreover, the large scale purification of TSPphg by heat treatment can be carried out directly in fermentation broth in situ without complex downstream processing, which may make it a more applicable approach for commercial scale processes. Our findings shed light on recovery of recombinant thermostable proteins and strategy of bacterial cell disruption.

With the wide-scale use of mechanical equipment, more and more faults occur. At the same time, data deluge about the conditions of machines come into being with the development of sensor technology and information technology. It provides opportunities and challenges to solve the fault problems of mechanical equipment. Information fusion seems to be a useful solution, which is the process of integration of multiple data and knowledge representing the same object into a consistent, accurate, and useful representation. A novel information fusion model, with hybrid-type fusion architecture, is built in this paper. This model consists of data layer, feature layer and decision layer, based on a new Dempster/Shafer (D-S) evidence algorithm. After the data preprocessing based on event reasoning in data layer and feature layer, the information will be fused based on the new algorithm in feature layer and decision layer. Application of this information fusion model in fault diagnosis is beneficial in two aspects, diagnostic applicability and diagnostic accuracy. An effect can be caused by different faults. This information fusion model can solve this problem and increase the number of recognizable faults, to expand the range of fault diagnosis. Additionally, this model can overcome the uncertainty of information and equipment to increase diagnostic accuracy. Two case studies are implemented by this information fusion model to evaluate it. In the first case, fault probabilities calculated by different methods are adopted as inputs to diagnose a fault, which is quite different to be detected based on the information from a single system. The second case is about sensor fault diagnosis. Fault signals are planted into the measured parameters for the diagnostic system, to test the ability to consider the uncertainty of measured parameters. The case study result shows that the model can identify the fault more effectively and accurately. Meanwhile, it has good expansibility, which may be used in more fields.Copyright © 2016 by ASME

In recent years, polyureas with dynamic hindered urea bonds (HUBs), a class of promising biomedical polymers, have attracted wide attention as a result of their controlled hydrolytic properties. The effect of the chemical structures on the properties of polyureas and their assemblies has rarely been reported. In this study, four kinds of polyureas with different chemical groups have been synthesized, and the polyureas from cyclohexyl diisocyanate and tert-butyl diamine showed the fastest hydrolytic rate. The amphiphilic polyurea composed of hydrophobic cyclohexyl-tert-butyl polyurea and hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) was synthesized for the controlled delivery of the antitumor drug paclitaxel (PTX). The PTX-loaded PEGylated polyurea micelle more effectively entered into the murine breast cancer 4T1 cells and inhibited the corresponding tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. Therefore, the PEGylated polyurea with adjustable degradation might be a promising polymer matrix for drug delivery.

Current maintenance, having a great impact on the safety, reliability and economics of gas turbine, becomes the major obstacle of the application of gas turbine in energy field. An effective solution is to process Condition based Maintenance (CBM) thoroughly for gas turbine. Maintenance of high temperature blade, accounting for most of the maintenance cost and time, is the crucial section of gas turbine maintenance. The suggested life of high temperature blade by Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is based on several certain operating conditions, which is used for Time based Maintenance (TBM). Thus, for the requirement of gas turbine CBM, a damage evaluation model is demanded to estimate the life consumption in real time. A physics-based model is built, consisting of thermodynamic performance simulation model, mechanical stress estimation model, thermal estimation model, creep damage analysis model and fatigue damage analysis model. Unmeasured parameters are simulated by the thermodynamic performance simulation model, as the input of the mechanical stress estimation model and the thermal estimation model. Then the stress and temperature distribution of blades will be got as the input of the creep damage analysis model and the fatigue damage analysis model. The real-time damage of blades will be evaluated based on the creep and fatigue analysis results. To validate this physics-based model, it is used to calculate the lifes of high temperature blade under several certain operating conditions. And the results are compared to the suggestion value of OEM. An application case is designed to evaluate the application effect of this model. The result shows that the relative error of this model is less than 10.4% in selected cases. And it can cut overhaul costs and increase the availability of gas turbine significantly. Therefore, the physical-based damage evaluation model proposed in this paper, is found to be a useful tool to tracing the real-time life consumption of high temperature blade, to support the implementation of CBM for gas turbine, and to guarantee the reliability of gas turbine with lowest maintenance costs.
