No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 In this work, we analyzed utterances belonging to the editorial genre, produced in Spanish and published by the newspaper El País in its digital edition, during February 2020. We aim to describe this genre just as it manifests in the aforementioned newspaper and to reflect upon the dialogue between the newspaper and the assumed reader. To conduct the analysis, we draw from the dialogical perspective of language, especially from the works of Bakhtin and Vološinov, from which we highlight the concepts of speech genres and architectonic form. This article aims to analyze the relation of alterity, based on Bakhtin’s proposition, in readers’ comments on fanfiction published on the Brazilian website Spirit Fanfics e Histórias. Fanfiction is a fictional story written individually or collaboratively as of books, series, movies and/or characters by other authors. Such texts run on the internet within specific communities – websites created with this purpose, such as the one previously mentioned – and this space of written production is a place where writers and readers engage in a dialog about their productions, through comments, aiming to perfect them according to what is valued in such spaces. To this end, the act of commenting on somebody else’s production, showing one’s own positioning, in order to collaborate with the development of the text, is fundamental, Thus, based on Bakhtin, Volochinov and the Dialogical Discourse Analysis, this work analyzes the relations of alterity in five comments posted on fanfiction about the series 13 Reasons WhyThe chosen methodology – the comparison – consists of relating texts, aiming to broaden contexts to understand the utterances, as proposes Bakhtin. From the Bakhtinian proposition, we point the concepts of architectonics, dialog, concrete utterance, activity sphere and alterity as relevant to the current discussion. We started from the hypothesis that the relations of alterity are key elements for the edification of these texts within this collaborative community of written production. At that, the reached results indicate that the comment is a component of the fanfiction, which guides the production according to the relation of alterity between authors and readers. Furthermore, the article highlights the importance of the genre comment to this relation, which appeared to be, according to the analyses, unique in this space, with relationships between me and other shown in its architectonics. Finally, this article adds to the area of Bakhtinian studies regarding the discourse genres in digital context. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la relación de alteridad, a partir de la propuesta bajtiniana, en comentarios de lectores sobre los fanfics publicados en el sitio web brasileño Spirit Fanfics e Histórias. El fanfiction es una historia de ficción escrita individual o colectivamente a partir de libros, series, películas y/o personajes de otros autores. Estos textos circulan en internet, en comunidades específicas – sitios creados con ese propósito, como el seleccionado – y, en este espacio de producción escrita, escritores y lectores conversan sobre las producciones, a través de comentarios, con el fin de perfeccionarlas, bajo los valores de ese espacio. Para ello, el acto de comentar la producción del otro, expresando su opinión individual, con el fin de colaborar con el desarrollo del texto, es fundamental. Así, a partir de los estudios de Bajtín, de Volochinov y del Análisis Dialógico del Discurso, este trabajo analiza las relaciones de alteridad en cinco comentarios publicados en fanfics de la serie 13 Reasons Why. La metodología seleccionada – el cotejo – consiste en relacionar los textos, con el fin de ampliar los contextos para la comprensión de los enunciados, como propone Bajtín. De la propuesta bajtiniana, destacamos los conceptos de arquitectónica, diálogo, enunciado concreto, campo de actividad y alteridad como relevantes para la presente discusión. Se partió de la hipótesis de que las relaciones de alteridad son elemento central para la construcción de estos textos en esta comunidad colaborativa de producción escrita. Ante esto, los resultados obtenidos indican que el comentario constituye el fanfic, en que orienta la producción basada en la relación de alteridad entre autores y lectores. Además, el artículo destaca la importancia del género comentario para esta relación, el cual se mostró, a través del análisis, como singular en este espacio, con las relaciones entre yo y otro marcadas en su arquitectónica. Con esto, este artículo contribuye para el área de los estudios bajtinianos con consideraciones sobre los géneros del discurso en un contexto digital. A fanfiction é uma história de ficção escrita individual ou coletivamente a partir de livros, séries, filmes e/ou personagens de outros autores, sendo majoritariamente popular entre leitores e escritores jovens. Esses textos circulam na internet, em comunidades específicas – sites criados com esse fito, como o selecionado – e, nesse espaço de produção escrita, escritores e leitores dialogam sobre as produções, por meio dos comentários, no intuito de aperfeiçoá-las, sob os valores desse espaço. Para isso, o ato de comentar a produção do outro, manifestando seu posicionamento individual, a fim de colaborar com o desenvolvimento do texto, é fundamental e, por isso, é requerido pelos escritores e pelo próprio site. Os estudos bakhtinianos indicam que os enunciados concretos – manifestações de linguagem em atos/eventos interativos – são elaborados por sujeitos sociais sempre na relação com o outro, a quem se dirige, direta ou indiretamente. Assim, embasado pelos estudos de Bakhtin, de Volóchinov e da Análise Dialógica do Discurso, este trabalho analisa as relações de alteridade em cinco comentários postados em fanfics do seriado 13 Reasons Why, selecionados de um conjunto de 120, os quais compõem uma pesquisa de doutoramento em andamento, na qual o critério de seleção foi a presença de elogio/crítica justificada ao texto. Por sua vez, os comentários analisados neste artigo são representativos da alteridade nesse corpus maior. A metodologia selecionada – o cotejamento – consiste no colocar textos em relação, no intuito de ampliar os contextos para a compreensão dos enunciados, conforme propõe Bakhtin. Da proposta bakhtiniana, destacamos os conceitos de arquitetônica, diálogo, enunciado concreto, campo de atividade e alteridade como relevantes para a presente discussão, os quais embasam as análises propostas. Partiu-se da hipótese de que as relações de alteridade são elemento central para a edificação desses textos nessa comunidade colaborativa de produção escrita. Diante disso, os resultados alcançados indicam que o comentário é constituinte da fanfic, o qual orienta a produção com base na relação de alteridade entre autores e leitores. Somado a isso, o artigo destaca a importância do gênero comentário para essa relação, o qual se mostrou, por meio das análises, como singular nesse espaço, com as relações entre eu e outro marcadas em sua arquitetônica. Com isso, este artigo contribui para a área dos estudos bakhtinianos com considerações sobre os gêneros do discurso em contexto digital.

This article aims to analyze the trajectory of the business man and famous writer Monteiro Lobato. In particular, we review his contributions to the advance of the budding oil industry in Brazil. To this end, the research methodology combined document analysis and bibliographic review, recovering his works and writings on the subject. This discussion – which involves topics such as resource nationalism and national sovereignty – contributes to the understanding of the permanent conflict between, on the one hand, the interests of foreign companies and their respective home countries, and on the other, the countries on the periphery of the capitalist system that hold oil reserves. Este trabalho procura resgatar a trajetória do empresário e escritor Monteiro Lobato, particularmente no que diz respeito às suas contribuições para o avanço da nascente indústria de petróleo no Brasil. Para tanto, a metodologia de pesquisa combinou análise documental e revisão bibliográfica, recuperando suas obras e escritos sobre o tema. A retomada de tal discussão – que envolve temas como nacionalismo em relação a recursos naturais e soberania nacional – contribui para o entendimento acerca dos conflitos permanentes entre, de um lado, os interesses de empresas estrangeiras e, de outro, os países da periferia do sistema capitalista detentores de reservas petrolíferas.

Orientador: João Wanderley Geraldi Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem Resumo: O tema desta pesquisa é a luta pela direito de dizer a língua, entendendo-se por dizer a língua um uso da palavra com poder de dizer, uma publicização do dizer. O interesse central é analisar os embates entre a lingüística e o senso comum que ocorreram no final do século XX e início do século XXI no Brasil, os quais tematizaram principalmente o ensino de norma culta e a restrição ao uso de estrangeirismos no país. Beneficiei-me dos estudos bakhtinianos utilizando o dialogismo como suporte para as análises feitas; neste campo teórico, a alteridade é constitutiva da subjetividade e é na dialogia que se dá a relação essencial entre o eu e o outro. Utilizei também a abordagem filosófica proposta por Michel Foucault, principalmente quando da reflexão sobre os micro-poderes que agem na mídia brasileira, em que dispositivos como produção de relevâncias em capas de revistas e citação de autoridades sobre língua ajudam a produzir o purismo lingüístico na passagem do século XX para o XXI. Encontrei, na mídia de referência, dois tipos de purismo, que chamei de purismo neoliberal e purismo nacionalista. Procedi a uma abordagem histórica do purismo nacionalista em gramáticas publicadas ao longo do século XX e em discursos de escritores românticos em meados do século XIX. Nas análises, aponto indícios de que o lugar de dizer a língua do escritor se constitui na relação com o purismo nacionalista e com o saber gramatical tradicional. Já os gramáticos, na luta para manter valorizado seu lugar de dizer a língua, mantêm um diálogo com a tradição gramatical purista e com a lingüística, de forma a modernizar os instrumentos lingüísticos. Os lingüistas, por sua vez, têm nas relações de ensino um espaço para dizer a língua ¿ mostro a influência da lingüística nos PCNs e nos vestibulares em relação à textualidade e à variação lingüística. No entanto, sua palavra não tem projeção na mídia ¿ nos embates diretos e indiretos com o purismo neoliberal e o nacionalista, há a construção de simulacros dos sujeitos envolvidos, em que se produz no social a representação do lingüista descomprometido com o cidadão e com a cultura nacional Abstract: The theme of this research is the fight for the right of saying the language, understanding for saying the language a use of the word with the power of saying, a publicization of the saying. The central interest is to analyze the collisions between linguistics and the common sense that took place in the end of the XX century and at the beginning of the XXI century in Brazil. These collisions dealt mainly with the teaching of the educated norm and the restriction to the use of foreign expressions in the country. I benefited from the bakhtinian studies using the dialogism as a support for the analyses that were done; in this theoretical field, the alterity is constitutive of the subjectivity and it is in the dialogy that the essential relationship between the ¿I¿ and the other takes place. I also used the philosophical approach proposed by Michel Foucault, focusing mainly on the reflection about the micro-powers that act in the Brazilian media, in which devices as production of relevances in magazine covers and quotation of authorities on the language help to produce linguistic purism in the transition from the XX century to the XXI century. I found, in the reference media, two types of purism, which I called neoliberal purism and nationalistic purism. I accomplished a historical approach of the nationalistic purism in grammar books that were published along the XX century and in romantic writers' discourses in the middle of the XIX century. In the analyses, I pointed out indications that the writer's place of saying language is constituted in the relationship with the nationalistic purism and with the traditional grammatical knowledge. The grammarians, on the other hand, in the fight to maintain the value of their place of saying the language, maintain a dialogue with the puristic grammatical tradition and with linguistics, in order to modernize the linguistic instruments. The linguists have, in the teaching relationships, a space to say the language ¿ I show the influence of linguistics in the PCNs (National Curriculum Parameters) and in the college entrance exams in relation to textuality and to linguistic variation. However, their word doesn't have projection in the media ¿ in the direct and indirect collisions between the linguistics and the neoliberal and nationalistic purisms, there is a construction of simulacres of the involved subjects, in which it is produced, in the social part, the representation of a linguist that is neither compromised with the citizen nor with the national culture Doutorado Doutor em Linguística

To do so, starting from official documents, which guide the Brazilian practices of teaching and learning, the article presents a reflection on discourse studies related to the work with speech genres in a school context. Finally, it presents an analysis of the presence of such genre in text production activities from a 9th-grade coursebook used in private schools. The Bakhtinian studies on discourse provides the theoretical-methodological perspective of the article, from which we highlight the concepts of concrete utterance, speech genres and activity field. Inicialmente, são discutidos estudos das ciências da linguagem, com enfoque nas pesquisas realizadas no Brasil que colocam em evidência a subjetividade e/ou a intersubjetividade na relação com a textualidade. Na sequência, aponta-se a incorporação feita em documentos oficiais do discurso desenvolvido no contexto científico. Em seguida, analisa-se, a partir da perspectiva dos estudos bakhtinianos, propostas de produção escrita da coleção didática selecionada e do Manual do Professor que acompanha cada volume da coleção. Na análise, são consideradas as noções de autoria, indícios de autoria, protagonismo e gênero. The aim of this paper is to discuss the presence of subjectivity/intersubjectivity in the discourse on writing in Portuguese Language in a Brazilian High School textbook that was approved in the Plano Nacional do Livro Didático - 2018 (PNLD). This presence (or absence) will be related to genre writing practices. Initially, scientific studies on language are discussed, focusing on Brazilian researches that relate subjectivity and/or intersubjectivity with textuality. Then, the incorporation by official documents of the scientific discourse on language is discussed. Finally, from the perspective of Bakhtinian studies, textbook writing proposals are analyzed with the Teacher’s Manual that accompanies the textbook.
