In this study, we have successfully synthesised a novel fluorescent chemosensor TM using rhodamine as the fluorophore and 8-hydroxyquinoline as recognition group through traditional Schiff base preparation methods. The chemical structure of sensor TM was characterised by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and ESI-MS. Sensor TM showed obvious fluorescence enhancement response to Hg2+ ion. The detection limit was 0.05 μM, and the solution colour changed from colourless to pink, making it a promising probe for effective naked-eye detection of Hg2+. The results of Job curve indicated that sensor TM and Hg2+ ion coordinated with each other with a binding stoichiometry of 1:1, and the pH test results showed that sensor TM was only suitable for acidic and neutral conditions. Small organic molecules with carbonyl active site are a prominent member in the family of organic electrode material, due to the reversible reaction and more tunable electrochemical property. However, the dissolution loss is the biggest obstacle in its application. In this work, we tried to address the dissolution issue of 5,7,12,14‐pentacenetetrone (PT), a typical quinone‐based organic electrode. Highly concentrated electrolyte of 5 M LiTFSI DME was used and it significantly reduced the dissolution and well maintained the capacity after 500 cycles. Besides, through the investigation of the relationship between solvent/electrolyte property and dissolution, and the interaction between electrode and electrolyte, a guiding rule of the dependence of dissolution on polarity was proposed. With the rule, non‐polar solvent of hexane was further added as co‐solvent and its‐adding decreased the polarity and substantially eliminated the dissolution loss. In this study, we designed and synthesized a simple probe 2-(8-((8-methoxyquinolin-2-yl)methoxy)quinolin-2-yl)benzo[ d ]thiazole (DQT) for detection of Ag + and Cd 2+ in a CH 3 OH/HEPES (9 : 1 v/v, pH = 7.30) buffer system. Its structure was characterized by NMR, ESI-HR-MS and DFT calculations, and its fluorescence performance was also investigated. Probe DQT showed fluorescence quenching in response to Ag + and Cd 2+ with low detection limits of 0.42 μM and 0.26 μM, respectively. Importantly, the complexation of the probe with Cd 2+ resulted in a red shift from blue to green, making it possible to detect Ag + and Cd 2+ by the naked eye under an ultraviolet lamp. The DQT-Cd 2+ complex could be used for sequential recognition of S 2- . The recovery response could be repeated 3 times by alternate addition of Cd 2+ and S 2- . In this study, a highly selective chemosensor ML based on a BODIPY fluorescent chromophore was synthesized for sequential recognition of Cu 2+ and HSO 3 - in a CH 3 OH/H 2 O (99 : 1 v/v) system, which contained three recognition sites and its structure characterized by 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR and ESI-HR-MS. The sensor ML showed an obvious "on-off" fluorescence quenching response toward Cu 2+ and the ML-Cu 2+ complex showed an "off-on" fluorescence enhancement response toward HSO 3 - . The detection limit of the sensor ML was 0.36 μM to Cu 2+ and 1.4 μM to HSO 3 - . In addition, the sensor ML showed a 1 : 3 binding stoichiometry to Cu 2+ and the recovery rate of ML-Cu 2+ complex identifying HSO 3 - could be over 70%. In this study, a highly sensitive and selective fluorescent chemosensor, ethyl( E )-2-((2-((2-(7-(diethylamino)-2-oxo-2 H -chromene-3-carbonyl)hydrazono)methyl)quinolin-8-yl)oxy)acetate (1), was synthesized and characterized by 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR and ESI-MS. Sensor 1 showed an "on-off" fluorescence response to Pb 2+ with a 1 : 1 binding stoichiometry in CH 3 CN/HEPES buffer medium (9 : 1 v/v).
