Insect pests are an important limiting factor affecting the yield and quality of maize. Bacillus thuringiensis transgenic maize has good insect resistance and can reduce the use of chemical insecticides effectively, which is very popular among growers. However, a large area of continuous planting of transgenic corn will lead to the resistance of target pests. "Multi-gene" strategy is one of the management strategies to prevent or delay the occurrence of resistant populations of target pests. The anti-insect vector constructed in this study is a fusion protein M2cryAb-vip3Aa formed by combining the main structural domains of Cry1Ab and Vip3Aa proteins using synthetic methods. These two insecticidal proteins had no evolutionary homology and different insecticidal mechanisms, which could effectively reduce the resistance probability of target pests. In this study, to obtain a new transgenic maize material with insect resistance and herbicide resistance and excellent agronomic traits, and analyze its insect resistance and herbicide resistance, m2cryAb-vip3Aa and bar genes were introduced into the recipient materials in series by transgenic method, and Chang 7-2, a backbone inbred line, was used as the backcross parent for backcross transfer. The results of this study enriches the existing germplasm resources of insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant maize, and provides new solutions for pest control and weed control in maize fields. The surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect was discovered by Richard Van Duyne et al. in 1977. He and coworkers also first utilized an innovative strategy that used SERS to record spectra on such SERS‐inactive substrate surfaces as n‐gallium arsenide (100) surfaces, which were modified by silver nano‐islands. This nanostructure‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy on flat surfaces (NERSoFS) enabled such SERS applications to be expanded to a variety of materials by virtue of SERS‐active nanostructures such as Au or Ag nanoparticles and shell‐isolated nanoparticles. However, most of such systems, although yielding Raman spectra, produce rather low enhancements, especially when used to record spectra on flat surfaces of SERS‐inactive materials. In this work, along with the direction of Van Duyne's borrowing‐SERS strategy and on the basis of the strategy of cascading optical coupling, we consider a theoretically designed optical configuration, based on an attenuated total reflection‐cascading nanostructure to produce enhanced Raman spectroscopy (ATRc‐NERS) on flat surfaces. This system can effectively harvest the incident light, thereby boosting the local optical field of the incident light and also moderately increasing the radiation field of the Raman‐scattered signals. In this way, one can gain 1–2 additional orders of magnitude in Raman enhancement over present NERSoFS systems both on metallic and nonmetallic flat surfaces, which are otherwise SERS‐inactive. This ATRc‐NERS strategy can potentially be used to develop ultrasensitive and versatile tools for surface science, material science, catalysis, electrochemistry, and micro‐electronics and micro‐LED industries. Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) can provide correlated topographic and chemical information at the nanoscale, with great sensitivity and spatial resolution depending on the configuration of the TERS probe. The sensitivity of the TERS probe is largely determined by two effects: the lightning-rod effect and local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). While 3D numerical simulations have traditionally been used to optimize the TERS probe structure by sweeping two or more parameters, this method is extremely resource-intensive, with computation times growing exponentially as the number of parameters increases. In this work, we propose an alternative rapid theoretical method that reduces computational loading while still achieving effective TERS probe optimization through the inverse design method. By applying this method to optimize a TERS probe with four free-structural parameters, we observed a nearly 1 order of magnitude improvement in enhancement factor (|E/E 0 | 2 ), in contrast to a parameter sweeping 3D simulation that would take ∼7000 hours of computation. Our method, therefore, shows great promise as a useful tool for designing not only TERS probes but also other near-field optical probes and optical antennas.

Proton transfer is crucial for electrocatalysis. Accumulating cations at electrochemical interfaces can alter the proton transfer rate and then tune electrocatalytic performance. However, the mechanism for regulating proton transfer remains ambiguous. Here, we quantify the cation effect on proton diffusion in solution by hydrogen evolution on microelectrodes, revealing the rate can be suppressed by more than 10 times. Different from the prevalent opinions that proton transport is slowed down by modified electric field, we found water structure imposes a more evident effect on kinetics. FTIR test and path integral molecular dynamics simulation indicate that proton prefers to wander within the hydration shell of cations rather than to hop rapidly along water wires. Low connectivity of water networks disrupted by cations corrupts the fast-moving path in bulk water.
