We employ general arguments and numerical simulations to show that unpaired Majorana zero modes can occur in cores of Abrikosov vortices at the interface between a three-dimensional topological insulator, such as Bi$_2$Se$_3$, and a twisted bilayer of high-$T_c$ cuprate superconductor, such as Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_{8+\delta}$. When the twist angle is close to $45^{\rm o}$ the latter forms a fully gapped topological superconductor up to temperatures approaching its native $T_c\simeq 90$K. Majorana zero modes in these structures will persist up to unprecedented high temperatures and, depending on the quality of the interface, may be protected by gaps with larger magnitudes than other candidate systems., Comment: 4+2 pages, 5 figures. Version 2 (to appear in Phys. Rev. Letters) contains a significant change: edge mode argument replaced by a direct analytical calculation of the vortex core zero mode

Quantum Physics - Abstract
We study the classical chaos appearing in a diatomic molecules $BeO$, $CO$ and $CN$ due to the interaction with a circularly polarized electric field, and its signature in Quantum Mechanics through the Wigner distribution function and the Boltzmann-Shannon entropy. We found a motion out of the center of the quantum phase space defined by Wigner function when the classical system becomes chaotic, and we found a jumping behavior of the average Boltzmann-Shannon entropy with respect the electric field strength when the classical system becomes chaotic, indicating a sudden increasing in the disorder (or sudden lost of information) in the quantum system., Comment: 8 figures, presented at LXI Congreso Nacional de F\'isica, Octubre 2018, M\'exico. presente at the WCANE-2019 Congress at Paris, 2019. - Abstract
This article offers a reconstruction of the main theses of cognitive structural realism in the philosophy of science, to examine its theoretical commitments and their viability. To this end, the connectionist version of P. M. Churchland and the predictive processing version of M. D. Beni are critically analyzed. Subsequently, the central theses of the position are identified and a distinction between strong and weak varieties of cognitive structural realism is proposed.

Introduction and objectiveActive surveillance (AS) has become an accepted alternative for patients with low risk prostate cancer. The purpose of AS is to defer definitive therapy in these patients to avoid treatment-related complications. Our aim was to determine the pathological features of the surgical specimen from potential AS candidates that underwent radical prostatectomy (RP).Materials and MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed a group of patients submitted to RP who met criteria for AS: Gleason score (GS) ≤ 3+3 = 6, PSA ≤ 10ng/mL, T1c - T2a, < 1/3 of positive cores, < 50% of involvement in any core and PSA density < 0.15. We determined the concordance between GS in biopsy and RP specimen (RPS). Other pathological features of the RPS were also analyzed, including surgical margins, extracapsular extension, seminal vesicles and lymph node involvement.ResultsWe identified 167 patients subjected to RP that met the criteria for AS. Fifty two patients (31.1%) had a GS > 6 in the RPS (GS 7 n = 49; GS 8 n = 3). Extracapsular extension, seminal vesicle and lymph node involvement was found in 6.1%, 3.1% and 1.2% of the specimens, respectively.ConclusionIn this study a significant proportion of potential candidates for AS showed features of aggressive and/or high-risk tumors in the RPS. Therefore, before considering a patient for an AS protocol, a proper and strict selection must be performed, and informed consent is crucial for these patients.

- Abstract
The period of bereavement following the loss of a loved one presents unusual experiences and attitudes that play an important role in the cognitive life of bereaved people; for example, the momentary feeling that the deceased person is present, as well as religious or spiritual beliefs. Often this involves actively maintaining a bond with the deceased person through various practices in everyday life. Both the mental states related to mourning and the practices corresponding to continuing bonds have an epistemic value, to the extent that they provide a contribution to the functionality of the agent in his search to acquire knowledge, understanding, and other epistemic goods. This has ethical and social consequences since these epistemic goods can be dismantled or affected by bereavement interventions, both clinical and non-clinical. Notwithstanding, this dimension has not been sufficiently recognized by the philosophical literature. This work seeks to motivate the epistemological study of bereavement in two ways. First, by offering a characterization of the mental states associated with grief in terms of subdoxastic states (such as aliefs). Second, the role that these mental states play in the space of affordances structured in an affective niche that allows the successful performance of the suffering person as an epistemic agent is shown.

One of the best characteristics of our country is its culture, all this beautiful knowledge and traditions that have been transferred for many generations and that give us the essence that we have today. Unfortunately due to the phenomenon of globalization many of these cultures have been deteriorating as human beings choose to adopt other customs that are not typical of our region, to this is also added the mismanagement of funds of our rulers who do not invest in this factor, which is why the project was born Cultural Center "a journey through the Atlantic", located in the city of Barranquilla, capital of the department of Atlántico. It will be located near the well-known shark's fin, a symbolic monument to the city's team. The main objective of the project is to promote the culture of the region, and thus give that first step to encourage again all those customs, this in turn seeks to increase tourism in the area. In addition, employment will be generated since the main building will have spaces for the sale of handicrafts and cultural displays of each municipality, led by its natives. Also, visitors will be able to find tourist plans and the option of being recognized as an ambassador of the Atlantic. This project will promote care for the environment by developing environmental management plans with its own solar panels, an environmental management plan for CDW and solid waste, a reforestation program in surrounding areas, water and energy saving measures, and green areas free for sharing. Finally, although this project is totally innovative for the city of Barranquilla, it has limitations such as the interest of the public due to the fact that nowadays culture has been left in the third plane, thus affecting the search for employment generation in the department of Atlántico.

Philosophers have long debated whether, if determinism is true, we should hold people morally responsible for their actions since in a deterministic universe, people are arguably not the ultimate source of their actions nor could they have done otherwise if initial conditions and the laws of nature are held fixed. To reveal how non-philosophers ordinarily reason about the conditions for free will, we conducted a cross-cultural and cross-linguistic survey (N = 5,268) spanning twenty countries and sixteen languages. Overall, participants tended to ascribe moral responsibility whether the perpetrator lacked sourcehood or alternate possibilities. However, for American, European, and Middle Eastern participants, being the ultimate source of one’s actions promoted perceptions of free will and control as well as ascriptions of blame and punishment. By contrast, being the source of one’s actions was not particularly salient to Asian participants. Finally, across cultures, participants exhibiting greater cognitive reflection were more likely to view free will as incompatible with causal determinism. We discuss these findings in light of documented cultural differences in the tendency toward dispositional versus situational attributions.

Since at least Hume and Kant, philosophers working on the nature of aesthetic judgment have generally agreed that common sense does not treat aesthetic judgments in the same way as typical expressions of subjective preferences—rather, it endows them with intersubjective validity, the property of being right or wrong regardless of disagreement. Moreover, this apparent intersubjective validity has been taken to constitute one of the main explananda for philosophical accounts of aesthetic judgment. But is it really the case that most people spontaneously treat aesthetic judgments as having intersubjective validity? In this paper, we report the results of a cross-cultural study with over 2,000 respondents spanning 19 countries. Despite significant geographical variations, these results suggest that most people do not treat their own aesthetic judgments as having intersubjective validity. We conclude by discussing the implications of our findings for theories of aesthetic judgment and the purpose of aesthetics in general.

Many philosophers hold that stakes affect ordinary knowledge ascriptions. Here’s a version of a pair of cases aimed at supporting this: Bob and his wife are driving home on Friday and considering whether to stop at the bank to deposit a check. The lines at the bank are very long and so Bob considers coming back on Saturday. In the low stakes version, nothing of importance hinges on whether the check is deposited; in the high stakes version, it is very important that the check be deposited. Bob’s wife asks whether the bank will be open on Saturday. Bob says he drove past the bank last Saturday, and it was open. However, his wife points out that banks sometimes change their hours. Bob says “I know the bank will be open tomorrow”. In the low stakes case, many philosophers maintain that Bob does indeed know that the bank will be open; in the high stakes case, these philosophers maintain that Bob is ignorant – his statement that he knows the bank will be open tomorrow is false. These philosophers also maintain that this pattern of judgments is what we would expect from competent speakers confronted with this and similar cases (e.g., Cohen, 1999, 2013; DeRose, 1992, 2009; Fantl and McGrath, 2002; Nagel, 2008; Rysiew, 2001; Stanley, 2005).Though many philosophers agree that stakes play a role in ordinary knowledge ascriptions, there is disagreement about what explains this. One view, epistemic contextualism, holds that “to know” is a context sensitive verb and that the truth conditions for knowledge ascriptions can vary across conversational contexts (e.g., DeRose, 2009). For instance, Bob’s statement “I know the bank will be open tomorrow” can be true in low stakes contexts and false in high stakes contexts. Another view, interest-relative invariantism, denies that “to know” is a context sensitive verb and that the truth conditions for knowledge ascriptions vary according to conversational contexts. Instead, cases like the Bank cases show that practical factors—i.e., stakes—play a distinctive role in determining whether the knowledge relation obtains (e.g., Stanley, 2005). Yet another alternative, which we’ll call classical invariantism, denies that “to know” is a context sensitive verb and that practical factors, such as stakes, play a direct role in determining whether the knowledge relation obtains. Instead, stakes affect knowledge ascriptions only by affecting our assessment of factors that have traditionally been taken to constitute or be necessary for knowledge, such as e.g., belief, quality of evidence, etc. (e.g., Bach, 2005; Weatherson, 2005; Ganson, 2007; Nagel, 2008). If this is right, then the role of stakes in knowledge ascriptions fails to motivate such surprising views as epistemic contextualism or interest-relative invariantism. Naturally, epistemic contextualists and interest-relative invariantists deny this, claiming that even when the factors that have traditionally been taken to constitute or be necessary for knowledge are held fixed, stakes continue to play a role in ordinary knowledge ascriptions (e.g., DeRose, 2009; Lawlor, 2013). So we see a dispute over what best explains the role of stakes in ordinary knowledge ascriptions. It is thus extremely surprising that a wide range of empirical evidence suggests that ordinary knowledge ascriptions fail to display any sensitivity to stakes (e.g., Buckwalter, 2010; Buckwalter and Schaffer, 2015; Feltz and Zarpentine, 2010; May, Sinnott-Armstrong, Hull, and Zimmerman, 2010; Turri, forthcoming; though see e.g., Pinillos, 2012; Pinillos and Simpson, 2014; Sripada and Stanley, 2012). If stakes really do not play any role in ordinary knowledge ascriptions, one of the main motivations for epistemic contextualism and interest relative invariantism would be undermined. Perhaps these different explanations of the role of stakes in ordinary knowledge ascription are born out of nothing more than a myth (Schaffer and Knobe, 2009). If so, classical invariantism about knowledge might be best supported—not because it provides the best explanation of the role of stakes in ordinary knowledge ascriptions, but rather because the failure of stakes to play a role in ordinary knowledge ascription would undercut an important motivation for its two competitors, epistemic contextualism and interest-relative invariantism. These radical alternatives to classical invariantism, lacking evidence in support of one of their important motivations, should perhaps then fall. Classical invariantism would stand. In the remainder of this article, we’ll disarm an important motivation for epistemic contextualism and interest-relative invariantism. We’ll accomplish this by presenting a stringent test of whether there is a stakes effect on ordinary knowledge ascription. Having shown that, even on a stringent way of testing, stakes fail to impact ordinary knowledge ascription, we will conclude that we should take another look at classical invariantism. Here is how we will proceed. Section 1 lays out some limitations of previous research on stakes. Section 2 presents our study and concludes that there is little evidence for a substantial stakes effect. Section 3 responds to objections. The conclusion clears the way for classical invariantism.

In a two-part paper, we apply to the Mexican economy the methodology of forecasting at mixed frequencies developed by Klein and Kushnirsky [2]. We construct two macroeconometric models for Mexico--high frequency, with monthly observations, and low frequency, with annual observations. Our methodology demonstrates how the high frequency model can be used for periodic adjustments of selected key indicators in the low frequency model. The methodology includes a theoretical foundation, methods for the adjustment of model structures and properties, procedures for achieving mutually consistent solutions, and step-by-step applications. The computational procedures are based on: (a) employment of a loss function in order to force the solution of the low frequency model to come close to the solution of the high frequency model and (b) construction of 'exact' joint solutions, with values of key variables in the low frequency model imported from the high frequency model. We illustrate the applications by generating: (a) independent solutions of the high frequency and low frequency models; (b) solutions of the low frequency model with the use of a loss function; and (c) solutions of the low frequency model with key variables such as GDP and the price index imported from the high frequency model.

In a two-part paper, we apply to the Mexican economy the methodology of forecasting at mixed frequencies developed by Klein and Kushnirsky [23]. We construct two macroeconometric models for Mexico--high frequency, with monthly observations, and low frequency, with annual observations. For each model we provide a description of the data, their sources, and methods of computation. The equations of the high frequency model follow the stages of the calculation of Mexico's GDP using two parallel approaches, output and expenditure, and averaging the results. The equations of the low frequency model are grouped into three blocks: production, consumption, and investment; foreign direct investment and trade; and wages, prices, and finance. Our methodology demonstrates how the high frequency model can be used for periodic adjustments of selected key indicators in the low frequency model, especially fixing initial conditions for the dynamics of the low frequency model so that it may be extrapolated a few years into the future. The methodology includes a theoretical foundation, methods for the adjustment of model structures and properties, procedures for achieving mutually consistent solutions, and step-by-step applications.

In 2017, migrants were 4.35% of the Chilean population, mainly from Peru and Colombia. From 2015, the amount of migrants from Central America, particularly from Haiti increased notably. This process changed the phenotype of the male population, increasing the proportion of black men, mainly between 20 and 50 years. Afro-descendant men have a higher risk for prostate cancer, and the tumor can appear as early as 40 years of age among them. This increase will have future repercussions on the public health system, since part of these men have low income and poor living conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss early detection strategies focused on this population, including education for both patients and health professionals. This review includes data on the reality of migration in Chile and its impact on the health system. The higher incidence and mortality of prostate cancer in the migrant population is reviewed and risk-adjusted screening strategies are proposed.

Is behavioral integration (i.e., which occurs when a subject’s assertion that p matches her nonverbal behavior) a necessary feature of belief in folk psychology? Our data fromover 5,000 people across 26 samples, spanning 22 countries suggests that it is not. Given the surprising cross-cultural robustness of our findings, we argue that the types of evidence for the ascription of a belief are, at least in some circumstances, lexicographically ordered: assertions are first taken into account, and when an agent sincerely asserts that p, nonlinguistic behavioral evidence is disregarded. In light of this, we take ourselves to have discovered a universal principle governing the ascription of beliefs in folk psychology.

The main objective of this work is hihglight the importance that has the attention to diversity in professional training. It is well known that profesional training is not a compulsory education, but we should not forget the students that need some kind of measure to attention to diversity, so that they can acces appropriate training, which allows them to enter the labor market. Also, taking into account that the legislation of the profesional teachings does not allow the modification or suppression of objectives, contents, or learning outcomes, in this article different measures will be proposed a different measures which will allow us to respond to students who have specific needs for educational support., El objetivo principal de este trabajo es resaltar la importancia que tiene la atención a la diversidad en la Formación Profesional.
