Background: Specific learning experiences are vital for athletes to continuously interact with developing knowledge of the performance environment, through the refined design of representative learning contexts (ecological paradigm), and appropriate didactical interventions (constructivist paradigm). Although there is a well-established relationship between tactical knowledge (TK) and tactical behaviours (TB), research has investigated the development of both separately. Thus, the inter-dependency between knowledge and behaviour has been inferred, but not contextually interpreted in a process-oriented analysis of performance. Purpose: Through an insider action-research (AR) design, and adopting a mix-methods approach, this study aimed to: (i) investigate in-depth the influence of a constructivist-ecological pedagogical intervention on developing players’ TK and TB; (ii) explore effects of integrated tactical knowledge and behaviour on competitive performance. Participants and settings: Fifteen female volleyballers participated in this study. An insider-AR (first author assumed the dual role of coach and researcher) was conducted from September 2017 to June 2018. In total, four AR-cycles were completed. A mixed-method approach was used to obtain distinct, but complementary, data on the impact of a constructivist-ecological pedagogical intervention on development of players’ TK and TB. Qualitative data were used to explore the development of TK, while TB was analysed through quantitative methods. Data collection: Qualitative data on the coach’s perceptions were collected using a reflexive diary and field notes, while players’ perceptions were recorded through four semi-structured focus-group interviews, one per AR-cycle. Quantitative data from four official competitive matches, one per AR-cycle, were analysed. Players’ positional coordinates were used to calculate the synchronisation tendencies of lateral blocking and defensive lines through the cluster-phase method. Data analysis: Qualitative data were analysed using thematic analysis, in which inductive procedures deepened understanding of the development of the players’ TK. A 4 (matches) x 1 (court direction) repeated-measures ANOVA was used to analyse quantitatively the differences in the mean cluster-amplitude values of lateral blocking and defensive lines between matches. Main findings: The unique integration of constructivist and ecological principles scaffolded the development of players’ TK and TB. Players evolved from an initial stage in which they verbally described competitive game scenarios (using knowledge about environment), to an endpoint where they revealed superior tactical understanding and action intentionality. Increments in tactical complexity favoured the development of TK and TB in a long-term analysis. However, over the short-term, TB was reduced. The development of players’ TK (supported by interactions yielding knowledge of practice and performance environments) shaped a basis for the acquisition of co-adaptive TB during competitive performance. Practical implications: First, sport practitioners could benefit from combining strategies from different theoretical approaches so that they can satisfy the daily needs of athletes in practice. Second, we advise coaches to adopt didactical and representative learning designs, grounded on video analysis and the co-creation of game-plans. Third, the data imply that time and the continuous exposure of players to meaningful and representative practice tasks in learning environments are needed so that athletes can enrich their tactical behaviours, using knowledge of the performance environment to interact effectively its constraints.

Mit der vorliegenden Dissertation möchte ich einen Beitrag zur Erforschung des schriftlosen Kontrapunktes leisten. Damit sollen die Studien zum contrapunto alla mente aus den letzten Jahren, die neues Licht auf dieses Phänomen geworfen haben, um einen Bereich erweitert werden, der bis jetzt wenig Beachtung gefunden hat: die weitere Entwicklung des improvisierten Kontrapunktes in Spanien bis ins 18. Jahrhundert. Dadurch eröffnen sich neue Perspektiven für das Verständnis der spanischen Musikkultur des Barockzeitalters. Zu den expliziten Informationen aus den Quellen, die bereits zugänglich gemacht worden sind, soll ein Teil des implizites Wissens hinzutreten, das in den Contrapunto-Lehren – insbesondere in den Notenbeispielen – eingefangen ist. Die vorliegende Arbeit ist also ein Versuch, dieses implizite Wissen freizusetzen. Auch wenn die tatsächlich erklungenen Improvisationen nicht konkret rekonstruierbar sind, lässt sich die Methodik, mit der professionelle Kontrapunktisten ausgebildet wurden, anhand der Contrapunto-Lehren gut nachvollziehen. Im Kern der Dissertation steht eine vergleichende Untersuchung der Quellen, die versucht, Antworten auf eine zentrale Frage zu finden: Nach welchen Methoden und Techniken hat man in Spanien um 1700 gelernt, Kontrapunkt zu improvisieren?, With this dissertation, I would like to make a contribution to the study of scriptless counterpoint. In doing so, the studies on contrapunto alla mente from recent years, which have shed new light on this phenomenon, will be expanded to include an area that has received little attention until now: the further development of improvised counterpoint in Spain up to the 18th century. The core of the dissertation is a comparative study of the sources, which attempts to find answers to a central question: What methods were used to learn to improvise counterpoint in Spain around 1700?

RESUMEN El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo caracterizar la intervención pedagógica de los entrenadores de fútbol durante la presentación de las tareas, en función de su formación académica. La muestra estuvo compuesta por doce entrenadores de fútbol (n=12). Las variables dependientes del estudio fueron: naturaleza de las tareas instruccionales (analizada mediante el sistema de categorías elaborado por Rink, 1993); nivel de explicitud de la información (analizado mediante el sistema categorial creado por Silverman, Kullina y Crull, 1995). La variable independiente del estudio fue la formación académica de los entrenadores en Educación Física y deportes, diferenciando entre licenciados y no licenciados. Los resultados obtenidos muestran un empleo predominante de tareas de información, frente a un escaso uso de tareas de perfeccionamiento, extensión y aplicación, lo cual sugiere un precario desarrollo didáctico de los contenidos. En relación al nivel de explicitud de la información transmitida, los entrenadores priorizan la información de carácter general, centrándose en el objetivo general y en la situación de realización de las tareas, haciendo una escasa referencia a la información sobre criterios de realización y de resultado. Los entrenadores licenciados en Educación Física y deporte se distinguen significativamente de los no licenciados al emplear más tareas de perfeccionamiento e indicar más a los jugadores los criterios de realización de las tareas. ABSTRACT The purpose of the present study was to characterize the pedagogical interventions of the football coaches during the task presentations, based on the coaches' specialized academic degree. The sample consisted of twelve football coaches (n=12). The dependent variables were as follows: the tasks' type nature (analyzed by Rink's system categories, 1993); the task explicitness level (analyzed by Silverman, Kullina y Crull's system categories, 1995). The independent variables of the study were the specialized academic degrees, differentiating between those with a graduation in physical education and those without. The results show that coaches predominantly present information tasks and the refinement, extension and application tasks were rarely used, which suggests a bad didactic development of the content. As to the task explicitness level, the majority of coaches' instructions are given through general instruction, which privileged clarifying the task outcome and situation tasks and some information about criteria-form and the outcome. The coaches with a graduation in physical education use more refinement tasks and task explicitness, and refer significantly more to criteria-form than coaches with no graduation. The purpose of this study was to examine accountability systems operating in youth volleyball training sessions and to understand how those systems vary according to the instructional tasks and the nature of the information provided by coaches. Additionally, the interactive effect of the players' age group on accountability systems and instructional tasks will be inspected. Twenty-eight youth volleyball coaches (for under 14s and under 18s) were observed, one training session each. Systematic observation strategies were used to describe and analyse task presentation and task structure during practice. Results convey that the accountability systems implemented by coaches were mainly implicit and governed by opportunity rather than explicit performance criteria imparted in task presentation. Remarks on the quality of performance only occurred during ongoing practice. More often than not coaches showed no reaction when athletes did not accomplish the tasks, failing to convey consequential expectancy-demand-monitoring messages. The instructional approach was predominantly composed of informing tasks, of technical nature and general information, which can reflect a technique and generalist coach profile. These results indicate the presence of weak and ambiguous accountability system, also corroborated by positive correlations of extending tasks with the category without exigency task presentation as well as with no reaction to unaccomplished tasks. There were no notorious differences in accountability behaviours between players' age group. Key pointsAccountability systems implemented by coaches were mainly implicit and governed by opportunity rather than explicit performance criteria imparted in task presentation. Only during practice, coaches remark the performance quality, followed by participation/effort.The instructional approach was predominantly composed of informing tasks, of technical nature and general information, which can reflect a technique and generalist coach profile.In general, coaches did not differentiate accountability behaviours according to the players' age group.

Myeloma-associated renal disorders are rare events among renal transplants and can occur as recurrent or de novo disease. We describe an unusual case of renal allograft dysfunction due to myeloma cast nephropathy occurring 19 years after having received a renal transplant in a patient with no prior history of multiple myeloma or monoclonal gammopathy preceding transplantation. Our patient was treated with five cycles of chemotheraphy(bortezomib, melphalan and steroids), which resulted in short-term improvement in allograft dysfunction and complete haematological remission. The longer patient and graft survival after renal transplantation make post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease more frequent. Multiple myeloma after kidney transplant is rare and an elevated index of suspicion is necessary to make a timely diagnosis of this serious disease. Background: Tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) is a common cause of kidney injury typically seen in association with drug exposure, infection or autoimmune diseases. However, TIN with interstitial immune complex deposition, without glomerular injury, is rarely observed. Case: We report a case of a 64-yearold Indian woman admitted for dialysis-requiring renal failure, without involvement of other organs. Urinalysis showed blood 3+ and 24h proteinuria of 1.5 g. Renal ultrasound revealed normal sized kidneys with loss of parenchymal-sinus differentiation. Laboratory tests disclosed low C3, positive ANA but negative anti-dsDNA, SSA and SSB. Serum protein electrophoresis was normal. The renal biopsy showed tubulointerstitial nephritis with positive immunoglobulin staining involving the interstitium and tubular basement membrane with glomerular sparing. The patient started prednisolone (1mg/kg/day) without recovery of the renal function. Conclusion: Idiopathic hypocomplementaemic tubulointerstitial nephritis is a rare disease with few cases described in the literature. To our knowledge this is the first case reported in Portugal A nefrite tubulo-intersticial (NTI) é uma causa comum de lesão renal, tipicamente associada a toma de fármacos, infecções ou doenças auto-imunes. No entanto, as NTI com deposição de imuno-complexos no interstício, sem envolvimento glomerular são raramente observadas. Apresentámos o caso de uma doente do sexo feminino, 64 anos, etnia indiana, admitida no nosso hospital, por insuficiência renal dependente de diálise. A análise sumária de urina revelou hematúria (3+) e a proteinúria nas 24h foi quantificada em 1,5g. A ecografia renal revelou rins de dimensões normais com perda da diferenciação parenquimo-sinusal. Analiticamente salienta-se, C3 baixo, ANA positivo, mas anticorpo anti dsDNA, SSA e SSB negativo. A electroforese de proteínas séricas não apresentava alterações. O doseamento de imunoglobulinas era normal, sem evidência de componente monoclonal. O restante estudo imunológico não apresentou alterações. Durante o internamento a doente realizou uma biópsia renal que mostrou nefrite tubulo-intersticial, com depósito de imunoglobulinas envolvendo o interstício e a membrana basal tubular, poupando os glomérulos. A doente iniciou terapêutica com prednisolona (1mg/Kg/dia), sem recuperação da função renal. A nefrite tubulo-intersticial hipocomplementémica idiopática é uma doença rara, com poucos casos descritos na literatura. Tanto quanto sabemos, este é o primeiro caso descrito em Portugal

The quality of human life depends to a large degree on the availability of energy, which is threatened unless clean and renewable energy sources are developed in the future. Science is expected to make important contributions to identify environmental friendly solutions for the energy problem. One attractive strategy is the development of photovoltaic cells, a promising source of renewable energy able to convert sunlight to electricity and with high potential to contribute significantly for solving the energy problem. Earlier, dye sensitizers applied in solar cells were mainly ruthenium complexes, consisting of the central metal ion with organic ligands containing an anchoring group. However, the lack of abundance of Ruthenium in nature, in addition with the latent risk to the environment, complicated synthetic processes and difficult purification methods, makes Ru-based dye sensitizers not suited in terms of cost efficiency and environmental friendliness. On the other hand, π-conjugated heterocyclic dyes of the type D-π-A are advantageous due to the structural diversity of the molecules that allows accurate adjustment of the photophysical and electronic properties, low cost of production, and environmental friendliness. The present communication reports the synthesis and evaluation of the DSSCs performance of a wide range of novel π-conjugated heterocyclic dyes bearing bithiophene or thienothiophene π-bridges functionalized with (hetero)aryl donor groups and cyanoacrylic acid or rhodanine acetic acid as anchoring groups. This multidisciplinary study shows that the improvement of the DSSCs performance can be achieved through the rational design of the dye in which several modifications on the π-bridge and/or on the donor and anchoring groups were performed., Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) and FEDER-COMPETE for financial support through the Centro de Química PEst-C/QUI/UI0686/2011 (F-COMP-01-0124-FEDER-022716). Research concerning Sport Education's educational impact has shown unequivocal results according to students' personal and social development. Nevertheless, research is still sparse with respect to the model's impact on student learning outcomes. The goal of the present review is to therefore scrutinize what is currently known regarding students' learning during their participation in Sport Education. This research spans a variety of studies, cross various countries, school grades, the sports studied, as well as the methods applied and dimensions of student learning analyzed. While research on the impact of Sport Education on students' learning, as well as teachers' and students' perceptions about student learning has shown students' improvements during the participation in Sport Education seasons, there is still considerable variance in these results. For example, some studies report superior learning opportunities to boys and higher skill-level students while other studies have identified superior learning opportunities for girls and lower skill-level students. These inconsistent results can be explained by factors not considered in the Sport Education research, such as the effect of time on students' learning and the control of the teaching-learning process within Sport Education units. In this review directions for future research and practice are also described. Future research should define, implement, and evaluate protocols for student-coaches' preparation in order to understand the influence of this issue on students' learning as well as consider the implementation of hybrid approaches. Moreover, future studies should consider the interaction of gender and skill level and a retention test in the analysis of students' learning improvements in order to obtain a more realist and complete portrait of the impact of Sport Education. Finally, in order to reach an entirely understanding of the teaching-learning process, it is necessary to use research designs that attend to the complexity of this process. Key PointsDespite research regarding has showed students' improvements during the participation in Sport Education seasons, it remains somewhat equivocal.The studies included in this review show students' improvements on skill, knowledge and tactical development, as we as game play, during the participation in Sport Education units.Some studies report superior learning opportunities to boys and higher skill-level students while other studies exposed superior learning opportunities to girls and lower skill-level students.The effect of time on students' learning and the control of the teaching-learning process within Sport Education units can explain these equivocal results.Future research is encouraged to consider the implementation of protocols for student-coaches' preparation, hybrid models, a retention test, the interaction of gender and skill level, and use research designs that attend to the complexity of the teaching-learning process.

The ever increasing consumption of fossil fuels, causing global warming and environmental pollution, has led to a greater focus on renewable energy sources and sustainable development. Among several new energy technologies, solar cells utilizing the sun as an energy source are the most promising [1]. Solar cells based on dye sensitizers (DSSCs) adsorbed on nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes have received significant attention because of their high incident solar light-to-electricity conversion efficiency, the structural diversity of organic molecules that allows accurate adjustment of the photophysical properties, colourful and decorative natures and low cost of production. As a result, in the last two decades, a wide range of structural modifications to the donor and/or acceptor group and pi-bridge have been carried out having in mind the preparation of organic chromophores with high performance for DSSCs [1].
