Background/Objectives: The primary aim of this study was to characterize athletes approaching an outpatient interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary consultation structure for athletes with a suspected relative energy deficiency in sport (REDs) cross-sectionally and longitudinally to prove treatment efficacy. Methods: Data of 58 athletes suspected of REDs were collected at the onset (t0) and completion (t1) of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary REDs treatment (clinical practice) between January 2019 and December 2022. The data included extracted information from medical records, anthropometric characteristics, physical performance diagnostics, laboratory values, dietary records, and partially gynecological and psychosomatic diagnostics. Results: The sample primarily consisted of female athletes (97%) under 18 years of age (66%) who were underweight with a body mass index (BMI) < 18.5 kg/m2 and BMI percentile below the 10th percentile for their age and gender-specific norms (59%), and experienced menstrual disorders (93%). The dietary behavior is characterized by plant-based and low-energy-dense foods. Eating disorders (anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa) were diagnosed in 40% of the athletes according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 11th revision criteria. During the program, 64% of the athletes exhibited a mean weight gain of 7 (±6) kg (p < 0.001), excluding those still undergoing treatment (36%). Conclusions: The proposed interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary treatment approach proved effective and holds promise for future evidence-based developments in REDs treatment. Objective: Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) online guided self‐help programs represent efficacious and accessible treatment options for adults with binge‐eating disorder (BED), but research on predictors of treatment outcome is scarce. This study aimed to investigate the predictive value of emotion regulation difficulties relative to that of negative mood on short‐ and longer‐term treatment outcomes in an online guided self‐help programme for BED above and beyond other predictors (age, sex, baseline BED severity). Methods: Participants were 63 adults (87% female, mean age 37.2 years) with BED. Data was analysed using a hierarchical model approach. Results: Emotion regulation difficulties better predicted both weekly binge‐eating frequency and eating disorder (ED) pathology at posttreatment than negative mood, after controlling for the effect of age, sex and baseline BED severity. At 6‐month follow‐up, neither emotion regulation difficulties nor negative mood further added to the prediction of weekly binge‐eating frequency, whereas negative mood, but not emotion regulation difficulties, did so for ED pathology. Conclusion: These findings indicate that emotion regulation difficulties at treatment begin might be a relevant predictor of immediate treatment outcome in online guided self‐help for adults with BED but might have lower impact on longer‐term treatment outcome than negative mood. At preschool age, motor skills and cognitive functions are regularly examined at well-child visits. Although reliable screening depends on the stability of the assessed developmental domains, little is known about the stability of motor and cognitive performance in preschool children. The aim of the present study was to investigate how stable motor skills and cognitive functioning are in the preschool years and whether they can predict their own and respective outcome 1 year later. 509 children were examined (46.4% female; M = 3.9 years; SD = 0.6; range 3.0-6.0 years) from the Swiss Preschoolers' Health Study (SPLASHY) at baseline and 1 year later. A Latent Variable Cross-lagged Panel Model revealed that both motor skills and cognitive functioning are highly stable in the preschool age (0.65/0.67). Cross-lagged coefficients were smaller (0.37/0.22). However, as the cross-lagged paths did not differ significantly from each other, no reliable conclusions for the prediction of motor skills and cognitive functions may be drawn. We conclude that cognitive functioning and motor skills are highly stable already in the preschool years. Although small cross-lagged predictive values were found, motor skills and cognitive functions may not to be reliable predictors of their respective outcomes. Future studies should test cross-lagged predictive effects in clinical samples, where the effects might be larger.

Climate change provides an opportunity for law professors to prepare students to raise informed, insightful questions about the legal and ethical challenges climate-related disasters present for individuals and businesses. Additionally, students might be prepared to answers their questions, drawing upon what they have learned in their Legal Environment of Business course. The purpose of this article is to show professors how to energize the environmental law unit in the Legal Environment of Business course using superstorms, environmental justice principles, and total participation techniques (TPTs). Instead of organizing the environmental law unit around a textbook chapter, this article suggests organizing the unit around disasters exacerbated by climate change. The article highlights superstorm Harvey and later introduces the Camp Fire, which destroyed Paradise, California. If professors can provoke students with information about climate-related disasters, they can inspire them to use the textbook as a resource to consider as they contemplate the extent to which laws and rules protect and preserve today's environment. Additionally, superstorms and their aftermath raise issues of environmental justice, a topic that is likely to spark debate and dialogue about inequality in the United States and around the world.

Objective: Children in families with parental cancer may experience emotional, social or physical problems. The aims are to analyze child, parent and family‐based determinants of children's health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) and their experiences of parental cancer. Methods: As part of a mixed‐methods, multicenter, prospective, interventional non‐randomized study "Family‐SCOUT," a family‐centered intervention in the form of care and case management was developed. Children's HRQoL (KIDSCREEN‐10) was assessed at baseline (study inclusion). Descriptive analyses and family cluster‐adjusted linear mixed models were performed. Qualitative coding of children's experiences reported in an open‐ended text field of the questionnaire was performed. Results: Four hundred and seventy‐two families with 472 parents with cancer and 649 children were included in the study of which N = 346 were analyzed. The average age of the children was 12.8 years. 48% of the children were female. Family cluster‐adjusted mixed linear model showed significant associations between children's HRQoL (dependent variable) and children's age (−0.44, p = 0.023, 95%‐CI = −0.82 to −0.06) and between families (ICCnull model = 0.377, Pseudo‐R2 = 0.443). Children experienced changes in the family situation, such as daily routines and communication among all family members, death of a parent, COVID‐19‐related difficulties, and supportive social relationships. Conclusions: Child, parent and family‐based factors appear to be related to children's HRQoL. Research on children's HRQoL and experiences in the context of parental cancer underscores the need for a multidimensional and family‐based approach to support these children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
