In order to study the water inrushing mechanism of floor reinforcement working face and the grouting effect in water abundant mining area of North China Coalfield, by means of mechanical formula derivation, hydro-geological characteristics analysis, micro-seismic monitoring and transient electromagnetic detection results, the superimposed water control mechanism of structure stability key layer of floor and the key layer of failure and penetration in the floor reinforced by grouting is studied, and the model of “two key layers” is formed. The engineering criterion of 2 types and 7 factors that affecting the water control capacity of the “two key layers” is proposed, and the engineering research is carried out in Jiaozuo Mining Area. The results show that the strength of rock mass increases by 40%-159% after grouting, and the maximum tensile strength and shear strength of rock mass reach 5.78 MPa and 38.31 MPa respectively, the floor deformation is reduced, thus reducing the damage and penetration degree of the floor, reaching the engineering criterion of the key layer for the stability and water control of the floor structure. The failure of the key layer of water control through penetration plays a filling and inhibiting role in fracture development, which can prevent confined water inrush. Meanwhile, the insufficient effective waterproof thickness and fault reactivation are the main reasons for the water control failure of the “double key layer”.

In terms of the teaching process of matte painting, it is essential for students to develop a sound understanding of the relationship between virtual and physical environments. In this study, first-person view (FPV) drones are applied to matte painting courses to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching, and to propose more effective design suggestions for FPV drones that are more suitable for teaching. This provides students with a better learning environment using a digital education system. The results of the study indicate that the flow experience, learning interest, and continuous learning intention of students who use FPV drones in matte painting are significantly greater than those of students who only utilize traditional teaching methods. Furthermore, the technology incentive model (TIM) was developed in this study after being verified by the structural equation model. The results demonstrate that the second-order construct 'technology incentive' comprising perceived interactivity, perceived vividness, and novel experience positively influence students' learning interest and continuous learning intentions under the mediation of flow experience.

Abstract Objective This study was designed to estimate the effect of sticky bone combined with concentrated growth factor (CGF) on anterior alveolar horizontal augmentation during implantation. Methods Twenty-eight patients were randomly assigned to either the test group (Group 1, n = 14) or the control group (Group 2, n = 14). Patients in Group 1 and Group 2 underwent GBR using sticky bone combined with CGF and bone powders mixed with saline, respectively. On postoperative Day 7, the patients completed the visual analogue scale (VAS). Three-dimensional models of maxillary alveolar bone were reconstructed from CBCT data at different periods, and the bone volume conversion rate was calculated with the assistance of a measurement marker guide. Labial bone thickness before and after trauma closure and bone density at six months postoperatively were also measured. Results The mean bone volume conversion rate for Group 1 (72.09 ± 12.18%) was greater than that for Group 2 (57.47 ± 9.62%, P = 0.002). The VAS score was lower for Group 1 than for Group 2 (P = 0.032). At six months postoperatively, greater bone density was found in patients in Group 1 than in those in Group 2, although the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The change in the thickness of the labial bone graft material in Group 1 was smaller than that in Group 2 (P = 0.025). Conclusion Sticky bone combined with CGF was able to achieve better bone augmentation than conventional GBR. With excellent mechanical properties and the capacity to release growth factors, sticky bone is an ideal material for bone grafting. Abstract To investigate the occurrence and 90-day mortality of cancer patients following unplanned admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), as well as to develop a risk prediction model for their 90-day prognosis. We prospectively analyzed data from cancer patients who were admitted to the ICU without prior planning within the past 7 days, specifically between May 12, 2021, and July 12, 2021. The patients were grouped based on their 90-day survival status, and the aim was to identify the risk factors influencing their survival status. A total of 1488 cases were included in the study, with an average age of 63.2 ± 12.4 years. The most common reason for ICU admission was sepsis (n = 940, 63.2%). During their ICU stay, 29.7% of patients required vasoactive drug support (n = 442), 39.8% needed invasive mechanical ventilation support (n = 592), and 82 patients (5.5%) received renal replacement therapy. We conducted a multivariate COX proportional hazards model analysis, which revealed that BMI and a history of hypertension were protective factors. On the other hand, antitumor treatment within the 3 months prior to admission, transfer from the emergency department, general ward, or external hospital, high APACHE score, diagnosis of shock and respiratory failure, receiving invasive ventilation, and experiencing acute kidney injury (AKI) were identified as risk factors for poor prognosis within 90 days after ICU admission. The average length of stay in the ICU was 4 days, while the hospital stay duration was 18 days. A total of 415 patients died within 90 days after ICU admission, resulting in a mortality rate of 27.9%. We selected 8 indicators to construct the predictive model, which demonstrated good discrimination and calibration. The prognosis of cancer patients who are unplanned transferred to the ICU is generally poor. Assessing the risk factors and developing a risk prediction model for these patients can play a significant role in evaluating their prognosis.

Stroke is one of the top causes of death and disability worldwide. Cognitive impairments are found in more than 70% of individuals who have survived a stroke. Cognitive decline is a major contributor to disability, dependency, and morbidity. The prevalence and severity of dementia vary depending on different characteristics of the stroke and other clinical risk factors. Here we discuss the effects of stroke territory, patients’ age, sex, cerebral blood flow, acute reperfusion therapy, and cognitive reserve of post-stroke cognitive decline. Potential predictive molecular and genetic biomarkers of post-stroke cognitive impairments are also discussed.

BackgroundSleep quality can offer new insights into addressing depression among stroke patients. However, the current understanding of the mechanism by which sleep quality reduces depression is not clear in existing research.ObjectivesThis study aimed to identify the relationships and mechanisms among perceived stress, sleep quality, social support, and depression in stroke patients.MethodsA multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted from January to May 2023. Cluster random sampling was used to recruit 500 stroke patients from five hospitals in Henan Province, China. The Chinese Perceived Stress Scale (CPSS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD-24) were employed to assess perceived stress, sleep quality, social support, and depression, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and moderated mediation analysis. The study adhered to the STROBE checklist for reporting.ResultsOut of 500 participants, 471 completed the survey (94.2%). After controlling for sex and age, mediation analysis revealed that poor sleep quality partially mediated the relationship between perceived stress and depression (β = 0.184, 95% CI: 0.110, 0.359). Additionally, social support played a moderating role in the mediation model.ConclusionThis study explained the moderated mediation of sleep quality and social support between perceived stress and depression. It provided a theoretical basis for the development of a sleep quality intervention program for reducing depression among stroke patients.

Background: Stroke is the second leading cause of death in adults worldwide. However, up to 80% of strokes can be prevented by modifying risk factors. Objective: The study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Health Ecology Model and Self-Determination Theory (HEM-SDT) based health management intervention among individuals at high risk of stroke. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted in Zhengzhou from May 1st, 2020, to December 31st, 2020. A total of 229 participants were recruited for the study, with 116 individuals at high risk of stroke being randomly assigned to the HEM-SDT health management group, while 113 participants were enrolled in the control group, following their current routine practices. The Generalized Estimating Equation model (GEE) was used to analyze the differences in health knowledge, belief and, behavior between the two groups at the beginning of the intervention, and at 6-month intervals after the intervention. The chi-square test was utilized to assess the control rate of risk factors. Results: After 6 months of intervention, there were significant improvements in health knowledge, behavior, and belief among the participants. The study found significant differences in the interaction effects between time and group for health knowledge (Mean, SD = 25.62 ± 3.88, 95%CI: 7.944–9.604, P＜0.001), health belief (Mean, SD = 87.18 ± 14.21, 95%CI: 23.999–29.887, P＜0.001), and health behavior (Mean, SD = 173.28 ± 24.22, 95%CI: 22.332–36.904, P＜0.001). Additionally, the rates of hypertension, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, high or medium risk condition of stroke, obesity, hyperhomocysteinemia, smoking, alcohol consumption, and lack of exercise also showed statistical significance (P＜0.05) after the intervention. Conclusion: The HEM-SDT health management model improves the health knowledge, behavior, and beliefs in people at high risk of stroke and remarkably it shows improvement in modifiable risk factors. It can be recommended for systematic health management in people at high-risk of stroke.

Abstract Background Dysfunction of microglia during aging affects normal neuronal function and results in the occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases. Retinal microglial senescence attributes to retinal ganglion cell (RGC) death in glaucoma. This study aims to examine the role of ATP-P2X7R in the mediation of microglia senescence and glaucoma progression. Methods Forty-eight participants were enrolled, including 24 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and age-related cataract (ARC) and 24 patients with ARC only. We used ARC as the inclusion criteria because of the availability of aqueous humor (AH) before phacoemulsification. AH was collected and the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) concentration was measured by ATP Assay Kit. The chronic ocular hypertension (COH) mouse model was established by microbead occlusion. Microglia were ablated by feeding PLX5622 orally. Mouse bone marrow cells (BMCs) were prepared and infused into mice through the tail vein for the restoration of microglia function. Western blotting, qPCR and ELISA were performed to analyze protein and mRNA expression in the ocular tissue, respectively. Microglial phenotype and RGC survival were assessed by immunofluorescence. The mitochondrial membrane potential was measured using a JC-1 assay kit by flow cytometry. Results ATP concentrations in the AH were increased in older adults and patients with POAG. The expression of P2X7R was upregulated in the retinal tissues of mice with glaucoma, and functional enrichment analysis showed that P2X7R was closely related to cell aging. Through in vivo and in vitro approaches, we showed that pathological activation of ATP-P2X7R induced accelerated microglial senescence through impairing PTEN-induced kinase 1 (PINK1)-mediated mitophagy, which led to RGC damage. Additionally, we found that replacement of senescent microglia in COH model of old mice with BMCs from young mice reversed RGC damage. Conclusion ATP-P2X7R induces microglia senescence by inhibiting PINK1-mediated mitophagy pathway. Specific inhibition of ATP-P2X7R may be a fundamental approach for targeted therapy of RGC injury in microglial aging-related glaucoma.

Abstract KATP channels are metabolic sensors for intracellular ATP/ADP ratios, play essential roles in many physiological processes, and are implicated in a spectrum of pathological conditions. SUR2A-containing KATP channels differ from other subtypes in their sensitivity to Mg-ADP activation. However, the underlying structural mechanism remains poorly understood. Here we present a series of cryo-EM structures of SUR2A in the presence of different combinations of Mg-nucleotides and the allosteric inhibitor repaglinide. These structures uncover regulatory helix (R helix) on the NBD1-TMD2 linker, which wedges between NBD1 and NBD2. R helix stabilizes SUR2A in the NBD-separated conformation to inhibit channel activation. The competitive binding of Mg-ADP with Mg-ATP to NBD2 mobilizes the R helix to relieve such inhibition, allowing channel activation. The structures of SUR2B in similar conditions suggest that the C-terminal 42 residues of SUR2B enhance the structural dynamics of NBD2 and facilitate the dissociation of the R helix and the binding of Mg-ADP to NBD2, promoting NBD dimerization and subsequent channel activation.

Abstract Background Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) and optic nerve edema occurring during prone surgeries may cause ocular and optic nerve ischaemia injury. We hypothesized that a liberal fluid protocol might further increase IOP and optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) than a restrictive fluid protocol for patients in the prone position. Methods A single-centre, prospective and randomized trial was conducted. Patients were randomly allocated into 2 groups: the liberal fluid infusion group, in which repeated bolus doses of Ringer’s lactate solution were given to maintain pulse pressure variation (PPV) within 6~9%, and the restrictive fluid infusion group, where PPV was maintained within 13–16%. IOP and ONSD were measured in both eyes at 10min after the anaesthesia induction in the supine position, 10min after the prone position placement, and 1h and 2h since the prone position was placed, at the conclusion of surgery, and returned to the supine position. Results A total of 97 patients were recruited and completed the study. IOP increased significantly from 12±3mmHg in the supine position to 31±5 mmHg (p0.05). Conclusions Compared to the restrictive fluid protocol, the liberal fluid protocol increased IOP but not ONSD in patients undergoing prone spine surgery.
