The energy balance in the corona of the Sun is the key to the long-standing coronal heating dilemma, which could be potentially revealed by observational studies of decayless kink oscillations of coronal plasma loops. A bundle of very long off-limb coronal loops with the length of $736\pm80$ Mm and a lifetime of about 2 days are found to exhibit decayless kink oscillations. The oscillations were observed for several hours. The oscillation amplitude was measured at 0.3-0.5 Mm, and the period at 28-33 min. The existence of 30-min periodicity of decayless kink oscillations indicates that the mechanism compensating the wave damping is still valid in such a massive plasma structure. It provides important evidence for the non-resonant origin of decayless kink oscillations with 2-6min periods, i.e., the lack of their link with the leakage of photospheric and chromospheric oscillations into the corona and the likely role of the broadband energy sources. Magnetohydrodynamic seismology based on the reported detection of the kink oscillation, with the assistance of the differential emission measure analysis and a background coronal model provides us with a comprehensive set of plasma and magnetic field diagnostics, which is of interest as input parameters of space weather models., Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures, accepted by Scientific Reports

A light bridge is a magnetic intrusion into a sunspot, it interacts with the main magnetic field and excites a variety of dynamical processes. In the letter, we studied magnetic connectivity between a light bridge and coronal loops rooted at the sunspot. We used the data of the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) to study the features of sunspots with light bridges. It is found that if a light bridge anchors at the umbra-penumbra boundary, the coronal loops could not be formed around the anchoring point. If the a light bridge become detached from the penumbra, the coronal loop starts to form again. The vector magnetogram provided by the Helioseismic Magnetic Imager onboard SDO shows that the anchoring region of a light bridge usually have an accompanying opposite minor-polarities. We conjugate that the magnetic field line could connect to these opposite polarities and form short-range magnetic loops, and therefore, coronal loops that extend to long-range could not be formed. A model of light bridge is proposed to explain the magnetic connectivity between a light bridge and the coronal loops. Quasi-periodic fast propagating (QFP) waves are often excited by solar flares, and could be trapped in the coronal structure with low Alfv\'en speed, so they could be used as a diagnosing tool for both the flaring core and magnetic waveguide. As the periodicity of a QFP wave could originate from a periodic source or be dispersively waveguided, it is a key parameter for diagnosing the flaring core and waveguide. In this paper, we study two QFP waves excited by a GOES-class C1.3 solar flare occurring at active region NOAA 12734 on 8 March 2019. Two QFP waves were guided by two oppositely oriented coronal funnel. The periods of two QFP waves were identical and were roughly equal to the period of the oscillatory signal in the X-ray and 17 GHz radio emission released by the flaring core. It is very likely that the two QFP waves could be periodically excited by the flaring core. Many features of this QFP wave event is consistent with the magnetic tuning fork model. We also investigated the seismological application with QFP waves, and found that the magnetic field inferred with magnetohydrodynamic seismology was consistent with that obtained in magnetic extrapolation model. A light bridge is a prominent structure commonly observed within a sunspot. Its presence usually triggers a wealth of dynamics in a sunspot, and has a lasting impact on sunspot evolution. However, the fundamental structure of light bridges is still not well understood. In this study, we used the high-resolution spectropolarimetry data obtained by the Solar Optical Telescope onboard the Hinode satellite to analyze the magnetic and thermal structure of a light bridge at \AR. We also combined the high-cadence $1700\unit{\AA}$ channel data provided by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly onboard the Solar Dynamic Observatory to study the dynamics on this bridge. We found that a pair of blue and red Doppler shift patches at two ends of this bridge, this pattern appears to be the convective motion directed by the horizontal component of the magnetic field aligned with the spine of this bridge. Paired upward and downward motions implies that the light bridge could have a two-legged or undulate magnetic field. Significant four minute oscillations in the emission intensity of the $1700\unit{\AA}$ bandpass were detected at two ends, which had overlap with the paired blue and red shift patches. The oscillatory signals at the light bridge and the penumbra were highly correlated with each other. Although they are separated in space at the photosphere, the periodicity seems to have a common origin from the underneath. Therefore, we infer that the light bridge and penumbra could share a common magnetic source and become fragmented at the photosphere by magneto-convection., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, accepted for ApJL

We report a detailed observational study of two quasi-periodic fast-propagating (QFP) magnetosonic wave events occurred on 2011 March 09 and 10, respectively. Interestingly, both the two events have two wave trains (WTs): one main and strong (WT-1) whereas the second appears small and weak (WT-2). Peculiar and common characteristics of the two events are observed, namely: 1) the two QFP waves are accompanied with brightenings during the whole stage of the eruptions; 2) both the two main wave trains are nearly propagating along the same direction; 3) EUV waves are found to be associated with the two events. Investigating various aspects of the target events, we argue that: 1) the second event is accompanied with a flux rope eruption during the whole stage; 2) the second event eruption produces a new filament-like (FL) dark feature; 3) the ripples of the two WT-2 QFP waves seem to result from different triggering mechanisms. Based on the obtained observational results, we propose that the funnel-like coronal loop system is indeed playing an important role in the two WT-1 QFP waves. The development of the second WT-2 QFP wave can be explained as due to the dispersion of the main EUV front. In this paper,we report a detailed analysis of recurrent jets originated from a location with emerging, canceling and converging negative magnetic field at the east edge of NOAA active region AR11166 from 2011 March 09 to 10. The event presented several interesting features. First, a satellite sunspot appeared and collided with a pre-existing opposite polarity magnetic field and caused a recurrent solar jet event. Second, the evolution of the jets showed blowout-like nature and standard characteristics. Third, the satellite sunspot exhibited a motion toward southeast of AR11166 and merged with the emerging flux near the opposite polarity sunspot penumbra, which afterward, due to flux convergence and cancellation episodes, caused recurrent jets. Fourth, three of the blowout jets associated with coronal mass ejections (CMEs), were observed from field of view of the Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory. Fifth, almost all the blowout jet eruptions were accompanied with flares or with more intense brightening in the jet base region, while almost standard jets did not manifest such obvious feature during eruptions. The most important, the blowout jets were inclined to faster and larger scale than the standard jets. The standard jets instead were inclined to relative longer-lasting. The obvious shearing and twisting motions of the magnetic field may be interpreted as due to the shearing and twisting motions for a blowout jet eruption. From the statistical results, about 30% blowout jets directly developed into CMEs. It suggests that the blowout jets and CMEs should have a tight relationship., Comment: ApJ 18 pages, 7 figures

The detailed observational analysis of a homologous Extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) wave event is presented to study the driving mechanism and the physical property of the EUV waves, combining high resolution data taken by the Solar Dynamics Observatory and the Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory. It is observed that four homologous EUV waves originated from the same active region AR11476 within about one hour, and the time separations between consecutive waves were of 8 - 20 minutes. The waves showed narrow arc-shaped wavefronts and propagated in the same direction along a large-scale transequatorial loop system at a speed of 648 - 712 km/s and a deceleration of 0.985 - 1.219 km/s2. The EUV waves were accompanied by weak flares, coronal jets, and radio type III bursts, in which the EUV waves were delayed with respect to the start times of the radio type III bursts and coronal jets about 2 - 13 and 4 - 9 minutes, respectively. Different to previous studies of homologous EUV waves, no coronal mass ejections were found in the present event. Based on the observational results and the close temporal the spatial relationship between the EUV waves and the coronal jets, for the first time, we propose that the observed homologous EUV waves were large-amplitude nonlinear fast-mode magnetosonic waves or shocks driven by the associated recurrent coronal jets, resemble the generation mechanism of a piston shock in a tube. We present two events to study the driving mechanism of extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) waves that are not associated with coronal mass ejections (CMEs), by using high resolution observations taken by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) on board Solar Dynamics Observatory. Observational results indicate that the observed EUV waves were accompanied by ares and coronal jets, but without CMEs that were regarded as the driver of most EUV waves in previous studies. In the first case, it is observed that a coronal jet ejected along a transequatorial loop system at a plane-of-the-sky (POS) speed of $335 \pm 22$ km/s, in the meantime, an arc-shaped EUV wave appeared on the eastern side of the loop system. In addition, the EUV wave further interacted with another interconnecting loop system and launched a fast propagating (QFP) magnetosonic wave along the loop system, which had a period of 200 s and a speed of $388 \pm 65$ km/s, respectively. In the second case, we also observed a coronal jet ejected at a POS speed of $282 \pm 44$ km/s along a transequatorial loop system and the generation of bright EUV wave on the eastern side of the loop system. Based on the observational results, we propose that the observed EUV waves on the eastern side of the transequatorial loop systems are fast-mode magnetosonic waves, and they were driven by the sudden lateral expansion of the transequatorial loop systems due to the direct impingement of the associated coronal jets, while the QFP wave in the first case formed due to the dispersive evolution of the disturbance caused by the interaction between the EUV wave and the interconnecting coronal loops.
