The Nanixivik mine of Baffin Island has been in operation for only 14 years. But in that time it has yielded fine specimens of pyrite which qualify the occurrence as among the world's best and most interesting for the species.

The mines of the Port Radium area in Canada's Northwest Territories have produced many fine specimens of native silver, acanthite and uraninite (pitchblende). Although crystallized dendritic silver was long known from the Port Radium area, it was not until the author collected there in 1980 that such specimens became generally available.
