Abstract In this article, the multidisciplinary team of the Taiwan Academy of Tumor Ablation, who have expertise in treating lung cancer, present their perspectives on percutaneous image‐guided thermal ablation (IGTA) of lung tumors. The modified Delphi technique was applied to reach a consensus on clinical practice guidelines concerning ablation procedures, including a comprehensive literature review, selection of panelists, creation of a rating form and survey, and arrangement of an in‐person meeting where panelists agreed or disagreed on various points. The conclusion was a final rating and written summary of the agreement. The multidisciplinary expert team agreed on 10 recommendations for the use of IGTA in the lungs. These recommendations include terms and definitions, line of treatment planning, modality, facility rooms, patient anesthesia settings, indications, margin determination, post‐ablation image surveillance, qualified centers, and complication ranges. In summary, IGTA is a safe and feasible approach for treating primary and metastatic lung tumors, with a relatively low complication rate. However, decisions regarding the ablation technique should consider each patient's specific tumor characteristics.

Abstract Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is highly malignant with a dismal prognosis, although the available therapies are insufficient. No efficient ubiquitinase has been identified as a therapeutic target for HCC despite the complicating role that of proteins ubiquitination plays in the malignant development of HCC. Methods The expression of ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrolase L5 (UCHL5) in HCC tumor tissue and adjacent normal tissue was determined using the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) database and was validated using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qRCR), Western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and the relation of UCHL5 with patient clinical prognosis was explored. The expression of UCHL5 was knocked down and validated, and the effect of UCHL5 on the biological course of HCC was explored using cellular assays. To clarify the molecular mechanism of action of UCHL5 affecting HCC, expression studies of Adenosine triphosphate adenosine triphosphate (ATP), extracellular acidification (ECAR), and glycolysis-related enzymes were performed. The effects of UCHL5 on β-catenin ubiquitination and Wnt signaling pathways were explored in depth and validated using cellular functionalities. Validation was also performed in vivo. Results In the course of this investigation, we discovered that UCHL5 was strongly expressed in HCC at both cellular and tissue levels. The prognosis of patients with high UCHL5 expression is considerably worse than that of those with low UCHL5 expression. UCHL5 has been shown to increase the degree of glycolysis in HCC cells with the impact of stimulating the proliferation and metastasis of HCC cells in both in vivo and in vitro. UCHL5 downregulates its degree of ubiquitination by binding to β-catenin, which activates the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and accelerates HCC cell glycolysis. Thereby promoting the growth of the HCC. Conclusions In summary, we have demonstrated for the first time that UCHL5 is a target of HCC and promotes the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma by promoting glycolysis through the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. UCHL5 may thus serve as a novel prognostic marker and therapeutic target for the treatment of HCC.

Abstract Objective We assessed the predictive capacity of computed tomography (CT)-enhanced radiomics models in determining microvascular invasion (MVI) for isolated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ≤ 5 cm within peritumoral margins of 5 and 10 mm. Methods Radiomics software was used for feature extraction. We used the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm to establish an effective model to predict patients’ preoperative MVI status. Results The area under the curve (AUC) values in the validation sets for the 5- and 10-mm radiomics models concerning arterial tumors were 0.759 and 0.637, respectively. In the portal vein phase, they were 0.626 and 0.693, respectively. Additionally, the combined radiomics model for arterial tumors and the peritumoral 5-mm margin had an AUC value of 0.820. The decision curve showed that the combined tumor and peritumoral radiomics model exhibited a somewhat superior benefit compared to the traditional model, while the fusion model demonstrated an even greater advantage, indicating its significant potential in clinical application. Conclusion The 5-mm peritumoral arterial model had superior accuracy and sensitivity in predicting MVI. Moreover, the combined tumor and peritumoral radiomics model outperformed both the individual tumor and peritumoral radiomics models. The most effective combination was the arterial phase tumor and peritumor 5-mm margin combination. Using a fusion model that integrates tumor and peritumoral radiomics and clinical data can aid in the preoperative diagnosis of the MVI of isolated HCC ≤ 5 cm, indicating considerable practical value. Critical relevance statement The radiomics model including a 5-mm peritumoral expansion is a promising noninvasive biomarker for preoperatively predicting microvascular invasion in patients diagnosed with a solitary HCC ≤ 5 cm. Key points • Radiomics features extracted at a 5-mm distance from the tumor could better predict hepatocellular carcinoma microvascular invasion. • Peritumoral radiomics can be used to capture tumor heterogeneity and predict microvascular invasion. • This radiomics model stands as a promising noninvasive biomarker for preoperatively predicting MVI in individuals. High frequency pulsating voltage injection method is a good candidate for detecting the initial rotor position of permanent magnet synchronous motor. However, traditional methods require a large number of filters, which leads to the deterioration of system stability and dynamic performance. In order to solve these problems, a new signal demodulation method is proposed in this paper. The proposed new method can directly obtain the amplitude of high-frequency current, thus eliminating the use of filters, improving system stability and dynamic performance and saving the work of adjusting filter parameters. In addition, a new magnetic polarity detection method is proposed, which is robust to current measurement noise. Finally, experiments verify the effectiveness of the method.

Abstract Straw is an important source of organic fertilizer for soil enrichment, however, the effects of different nitrogen(N) application rates and depths on straw decomposition microorganisms and carbon and nitrogen cycling under full straw return conditions in cool regions of Northeast China are not clear at this stage. In this paper, we applied macro-genome sequencing technology to investigate the effects of different N application rates (110 kg hm−2, 120 kg hm−2, 130 kg hm−2, 140 kg hm−2, 150 kg hm−2) and depths (0–15 cm, 15–30 cm) on straw decomposing microorganisms and N cycling in paddy fields in the cool zone of Northeast China. The results showed that (1) about 150 functional genes are involved in the carbon cycle process of degradation during the degradation of returned straw, of which the largest number of functional genes are involved in the methane production pathway, about 42, the highest abundance of functional genes involved in the citric acid cycle pathway. There are 22 kinds of functional genes involved in the nitrogen cycle degradation process, among which there are more kinds involved in nitrogen fixation, with 4 kinds. (2) High nitrogen application (150 kg hm−2) inhibited the carbon and nitrogen conversion processes, and the abundance of straw-degrading microorganisms and nitrogen-cycling functional genes was relatively high at a nitrogen application rate of 130 kg hm−2. (3) Depth-dependent heterogeneity of the microbial community was reduced throughout the vertical space. At 71 days of straw return, the nitrogen cycling function decreased and some carbon functional genes showed an increasing trend with the increase of straw return depth. The nitrogen cycle function decreased with the increase of straw returning depth. The microbial community structure was best and the abundance of functional genes involved in the nitrogen cycling process was higher under the conditions of 0–15 cm of returning depth and 130 kg hm−2 of nitrogen application.

Background: To explore the causal association between Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, herpesvirus infection and periodontitis (PD) from a genetic perspective using Mendelian randomization (MR). Methods: The PD data were derived from genome-wide association study (GWAS) from the Dental Endpoints (GLIDE) consortium, and the FinnGen Biobank provided data on H. pylori and herpesvirus infections. In addition, we examined GWAS data for subtypes of H. pylori and herpesvirus infection. Inverse variance weighting (IVW) was selected as a major analysis technique, and weighted median (WM), weighted model, simple model, and MR-Egger regression were added as supplementary methods. To verify the findings, the effects of pleiotropy and heterogeneity were assessed. Results: Genetically predicted H. pylori infection (OR = 0.914, 95%CI = 0.693–1.205, P = 0.523), anti-H. pylori VacA (OR = 0.973, 95%CI = 0.895–1.057, P = 0.515), anti-H. pylori CagA (OR = 1.072, 95%CI = 0.986–1.164; P = 0.102), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection (OR = 1.026, 95%CI = 0.940–1.120, P = 0.567), Herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection (OR = 0.962, 95%CI = 0.883–1.048, P = 0.372), cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection (OR = 1.025, 95%CI = 0.967–1.088, P = 0.415), EBV nuclear antigen-1 (EBNA1) (OR = 1.061, 95%CI = 0.930–1.209, P = 0.378), EBV virus capsid antigen (VCA) (OR = 1.043, 95CI% = 0.890–1.222, P = 0.603), HSV-1 (OR = 1.251, 95%CI = 0.782–2.001, P = 0.351), HSV-2 (OR = 1.020, 95%CI = 0.950–1.096, P = 0.585), CMV IgG (OR = 0.990, 95CI% = 0.882–1.111, P = 0.861) were not associated with PD, indicated that H. pylori and herpesvirus infection had no causal relationship to PD. Reverse studies also found no cause effect of PD on H. pylori or herpesvirus infection. The results of the sensitivity analysis suggested the robustness of the MR results. Conclusion: This study offered preliminary proof that H. pylori and herpesvirus infections were not causally linked to PD, and vice versa. However, more robust instrumental variables (IVs) and larger samples of GWAS data were necessary for further MR analysis.

The effects of yeast culture (YC) on dairy goat milk yield and potential effects of rumen microbial population changes on rumen fermentation are poorly understood. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of YC on milk yield and rumen fermentation in dairy goats and explore the potential microbial mechanisms. Forty Laoshan dairy goats with a weight of 51.23 ± 2.23 kg and daily milk yield of 1.41 ± 0.26 kg were randomly divided into 4 groups: control (no YC), YC1 (10 g/day per goat), YC2 (25 g/day per goat), and YC3 (40 g/day per goat). The pre-feeding period was 15 days, and the official period was 60 days. Laoshan dairy goats were milked twice daily, and the individual milk yield was recorded. On the last day of the official period, rumen fluid was collected to measure rumen fermentation, perform quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and detect metabolites. BackgroundJuvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) is a rare autoimmune myopathy whose main clinical manifestations include a characteristic rash, symmetrical proximal muscle weakness, and elevated muscle enzymes. While approximately one-third of adult patients with dermatomyositis (DM) develop malignancies, typically within a year of diagnosis, this phenomenon is not commonly observed in patients with JDM. In this study, we present a rare case of both JDM and Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) diagnosed in an adolescent female patient.Case descriptionA 14-year-old girl with proximal muscle weakness and myalgia for 8 weeks was admitted to the hospital and ultimately received a diagnosis of DM. A thorough physical examination revealed enlarged lymph nodes on both sides of the cervical, and a lymph node biopsy was performed to diagnose HL. After she underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy, her symptoms of both HL and DM were alleviated.ConclusionThe phenomenon of JDM as a paraneoplastic syndrome associated with HL is very rare. Thus, routine cancer screening for DM in adolescents is currently not recommended. The diagnosis of JDM requires a detailed physical examination, and further tumor screening is necessary for patients with unusual physical findings, such as atypical rashes, enlarged lymph nodes, and enlargement of the spleen and/or liver. Even if no malignancy is detected when JDM is diagnosed, long-term follow-up is necessary.

The Lower Cambrian petroleum system in the Tarim Basin has undergone multiple periods of tectonic movements, leading to successive hydrocarbon expulsion events and adjustments. The complex process of hydrocarbon accumulation occurred under deep burial conditions, persisting at depths of nearly 6,000 m over an extended period. This has resulted in the current occurrence of various phases including light oil, condensate, and gas in the deep-ultradeep strata of the Tarim Basin. The intricacies of formation of hydrocarbon accumulations and phase evolution have posed challenges to understanding the accumulation mechanisms and enrichment patterns of the Cambrian in the Tarim Basin, consequently lowering the success rate of oil and gas exploration. Such characteristics of multi-stage accumulation and adjustment are prevalent in deep hydrocarbon systems. Therefore, based on data from Well ZH1 in the Tazhong Uplift, combined with basin simulation, Compositional kinetics model, and PVT performance simulation, this study investigates the hydrocarbon generation and phase evolution processes in the deep hydrocarbon systems of the Tazhong Uplift. The results indicate that Well ZH1 entered the hydrocarbon generation peak during the Late Ordovician, followed by secondary cracking as the predominant hydrocarbon evolution process. Hydrocarbon fluids within the Lower Cambrian reservoir transitioned into the condensate phase towards the end of the Cambrian, with increasing depth resulting in higher gas-oil ratios and a decreasing trend in viscosity and density.

Microlenses or arrays are key elements in many applications. However, their construction methods involve multiple fabrication processes, thereby increasing the complexity and cost of fabrication. In this study, we demonstrate an optically anisotropic, electrically tunable liquid crystal (LC) microlens array using a simple, one-step fabrication method. The microlens array is formed via photopolymerization-induced phase separation inside a polymer/LC composite. It possesses both polarization-dependent and electrically tunable focusing and imaging properties. Without applying voltage, the microlens array has a natural focal length of 8 mm, which is a result of its inherent gradient refractive index profile. Upon applying voltage above the threshold, the LC molecules reorient along the electric field direction and the focal length of the microlens array gradually increases. Based on its superior properties, the microlens array is further used for integral imaging applications, demonstrating electrically tunable central depth plane. Such LC microlens arrays could find numerous potential applications owing to their advantageous features of being flat, ultra-thin, and tunable, including 3D displays, optical interconnects, and more.

The spatial layout of hospitals shows constant intersection of streamlines with the patients in different kinds of needs finding their path to various service facilities. Along with COVID pandemic, low-trust psychology raises among social relationships, which has brought significant changes during space planning process. This paper aimed at the lack of specific technical methods for flow simulation and spatial layout for hospital buildings. To simulate hospital crowd behaviors, this paper first proposes a novel low-trust social force model. Then, based on medical process analysis, hospital space survey, and infection theory, the simulation model was established. After that, the original and planned layouts were simulated, and key performance metrics were calculated. Results are visualized and the impact of different forms of hospital space layout and service facility layout are analyzed. Finally, optimization suggestions are proposed, which can provide a basis for hospital space and facility layout evaluation while reducing the cost of frequent hospital renovations. Based on computer simulation with new LtSFM, this method has the advantage of accurate patient crowd prediction and lead to effective space layout planning. Applications in a real-world hospital showed that the proposed method can predict the bottleneck of the layout capacity of hospital space facilities and propose corresponding improvement measures, thereby reducing the hidden risk of passenger flow gathering, improving the service level of facilities, and reducing overall infection risks.

This paper addresses the planning problem of parallel DC electric springs (DCESs). DCES, a demand-side management method, realizes automatic matching of power consumption and power generation by adjusting non-critical load (NCL) and internal storage. It can offer higher power quality to critical load (CL), reduce power imbalance and relieve pressure on energy storage systems (RESs). In this paper, a planning method for parallel DCESs is proposed to maximize stability gain, economic benefits, and penetration of RESs. The planning model is a master optimization with sub-optimization to highlight the priority of objectives. Master optimization is used to improve stability of the network, and sub-optimization aims to improve economic benefit and allowable penetration of RESs. This issue is a multivariable nonlinear mixed integer problem, requiring huge calculations by using common solvers. Therefore, particle Swarm optimization (PSO) and Elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) were used to solve this model. Considering uncertainty of RESs, this paper verifies effectiveness of the proposed planning method on IEEE 33-bus system based on deterministic scenarios obtained by scenario analysis.

Point cloud completion is able to estimate the complete point cloud starting from the missing point cloud, which obtains higher quality point cloud data for widely used in remote sensing 3-D modeling, medical imaging, robot vision, etc. The challenge of point clouds mainly lies in the disordered and unstructured nature, which makes point cloud completion difficult. Point cloud completion research can be broadly categorized into traditional approaches and deep learning-based methods. Recently, intensive research has primarily focused on deep learning-based methods, given robustness and efficiency in processing the substantial missing data encountered in complex real world scenes. In addition, deep learning-based methods have higher generalization performance. To stimulate future research, this survey presents a comprehensive review of existing traditional and deep learning-based 3-D point cloud completion methods. This review conducts extensive examinations of each stage of the process, providing a compilation of famous datasets, metrics, and their respective characteristics. In addition, the impacts of subsequent downstream application tasks with or without completion are discussed, followed by some potential future issues in point cloud completion.

Abstract Background Gastric cancer (GC) constitutes a major global health problem, of which remnant gastric cancer (RGC) occurs less frequently. The rate of RGCs after gastrectomy for GC is increasing recently due to improved survival and screening, however, their incidence and risk have not been reported in the U.S. population. The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence and elevated risk of RGC after GC gastrectomy in this population, and to identify the risk factors. Methods Patients underwent gastrectomy for first primary GC in 2000–2015 and those who developed RGC were identified from Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database. Fine-Gray regression was used to estimate the cumulative incidence and to identify risk factors. Standardized incidence ratios (SIRs) were calculated by Poisson regression to compare the risk with the general population. Results Among 21,566 patients included in the cohort, 227 developed RGC. The 20-year cumulative incidence of RGC was 1.88%. Multivariate analysis revealed that older age, invasion depth, male sex, marital status, and lower income are independent risk factors for RGC development. SIR was 7.70 overall and > 4.5 in each stratum. Conclusions Cumulative incidence and risk for RGCs increased continuously in patients underwent GC gastrectomy. Close and lifelong endoscopy surveillance should be recommended for patients who received GC gastrectomy, especially those with high-risk factors.

Abstract Background Although periodontitis has previously been reported to be linked with multiple sclerosis (MS), but the molecular mechanisms and pathological interactions between the two remain unclear. This study aims to explore potential crosstalk genes and pathways between periodontitis and MS. Methods Periodontitis and MS data were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Shared genes were identified by differential expression analysis and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). Then, enrichment analysis for the shared genes was carried out by multiple methods. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to obtain potential shared diagnostic genes. Furthermore, the expression profile of 28 immune cells in periodontitis and MS was examined using single-sample GSEA (ssGSEA). Finally, real-time quantitative fluorescent PCR (qRT-PCR) and immune histochemical staining were employed to validate Hub gene expressions in periodontitis and MS samples. Results FAM46C, SLC7A7, LY96, CFI, DDIT4L, CD14, C5AR1, and IGJ genes were the shared genes between periodontitis, and MS. GO analysis revealed that the shared genes exhibited the greatest enrichment in response to molecules of bacterial origin. LASSO analysis indicated that CFI, DDIT4L, and FAM46C were the most effective shared diagnostic biomarkers for periodontitis and MS, which were further validated by qPCR and immunohistochemical staining. ssGSEA analysis revealed that T and B cells significantly influence the development of MS and periodontitis. Conclusions FAM46C, SLC7A7, LY96, CFI, DDIT4L, CD14, C5AR1, and IGJ were the most important crosstalk genes between periodontitis, and MS. Further studies found that CFI, DDIT4L, and FAM46C were potential biomarkers in periodontitis and MS.

Abstract Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) occurs most commonly after rupture of an aneurysm, resulting in high disability and mortality due to the absence of effective therapy. Its subsequent stage, early brain injury (EBI), promotes the sustainable development of injury in the brain and ultimately leads to poor prognosis. As a new antiepileptic drug, the effect of perampanel on EBI after SAH is unknown. Pyroptosis, a process of inflammatory programmed cell death, has been confirmed in most studies to play a substantial role in aggravating SAH-post EBI. Similarly, oxidative stress is closely involved in neuronal pyroptosis and the pathophysiological mechanism of SAH-post EBI, leading to a devastating outcome for SAH patients. Nonetheless, no studies have been conducted to determine whether perampanel reduces pyroptosis and oxidative stress in the context of SAH-induced EBI. Rat SAH model via endovascular perforation was constructed in this study, to assess the neuroprotective effect of perampanel on SAH-post EBI, and to clarify the possible molecular mechanism. By means of the neurological score, brain edema detection, FJB staining, immunofluorescence, WB, ELISA, and ROS assay, we found that perampanel can improve neuroscores and reduce brain edema and neuronal degeneration at 24 h after SAH; we also found that perampanel reduced oxidative stress, neuronal pyroptosis, and inhibition of the SIRT3-FOXO3α pathway at 24 h after SAH. When 3-TYP, an inhibitor of SIRT3, was administered, the effects of perampanel on the SIRT3-FOXO3a pathway, antioxidant stress, and neuronal pyroptosis were reversed. Taken together, our data indicate that perampanel attenuates oxidative stress and pyroptosis following subarachnoid hemorrhage via the SIRT3/FOXO3α pathway. This study highlights the application value of perampanel in subarachnoid hemorrhage and lays a foundation for clinical research and later transformation of perampanel in SAH.

Rapid industrial development has resulted in serious pollutants to the urban transitional areas. But less is known on the spatial distribution and ecological risk of heavy metals (HMs) caused by regional industrialization. In present study, soils, bedrocks and plant tissues were collected in the industrial transitional areas of Chang-Zhu-Tan Urban Agglomeration (CUA) of China. Results indicated that HMs contamination in the CUA was closely connected to the distribution of regional industries, and the pollution of HMs mainly focused on the exceed of cadmium (Cd: 48.2 %), mercury (Hg: 10.8 %) and lead (Pb: 11.5 %), which presented a diffusion trend towards the surrounding environment with the industrial center as the starting point. Additionally, the structural equation model (SEM) demonstrated that the other pollutants accompanied by metals discharge might further exacerbate the ecological risk of HMs. In the detected soil properties, Soil total organic carbon (TOC) content was the key factor affecting the Hg and Pb migration, while the distribution of Cd was more affected by the soil pH. Despite HMs contamination in the intersection area of CUA was relatively light. Taking the industrial distribution in the CUA into consideration, residents in the industrial central areas of Xiangtan (XT) and Zhuzhou (ZZ) cities might have a significant higher risk of HMs exposure. Fortunately, the application of organic fertilizers may have an effective limiting effect on the current Cd migration in the CUA region.

Polysaccharides are generally considered to have immune enhancing functions, and mulberry leaf polysaccharide is the main active substance in mulberry leaves, while there are few studies on whether mulberry leaf polysaccharide (MLP) has an effect on immunosuppression and intestinal damage caused by cyclophosphamide (CTX), we investigated whether MLP has an ameliorative effect on intestinal damage caused by CTX. A total of 210 1-day-old Mahuang cocks were selected for this experiment. Were equally divided into six groups and used to evaluate the immune effect of MLP. Our results showed that MLP significantly enhanced the growth performance of chicks and significantly elevated the secretion of cytokines (IL-1β, IL-10, IL-6, TNF-α, and IFN-γ), immunoglobulins and antioxidant enzymes in the serum of immunosuppressed chicks. It attenuated jejunal damage and elevated the expression of jejunal tight junction proteins Claudin1, Zo-1 and MUC2, which protected intestinal health. MLP activated TLR4-MyD88-NF-κB pathway and enhanced the expression of TLR4, MyD88 and NF-κB, which served to protect the intestine. 16S rDNA gene high-throughput sequencing showed that MLP increased species richness, restored CTX-induced gut microbiome imbalance, and enhanced the abundance of probiotic bacteria in the gut. MLP improves cyclophosphamide-induced growth inhibition and intestinal damage in chicks by modulating intestinal flora and enhancing immune regulation and antioxidant capacity. In conclusion, this study provides a scientific basis for MLP as an immune enhancer to regulate chick intestinal flora and protect chick intestinal mucosal damage.

The lacustrine level changes affects the sedimentary process of the basin, and has an important influence on the hydrocarbon source-Reservoir assemblage system. In this study, the method of wavelet transform and Fisher plot were used to identify 58 high-frequency cycles on drilling well, with an average cycle thickness of 8.21 m. On this basis, the cumulative offset value was calculated, and finally the lacustrine level changes curve was established during the Triassic period in Lunnan area. The results show that there were three obvious lacustrine level fluctuation cycles in the Triassic period in this area. In the descending stage of lacustrine level, the grain size of the sediments in the study area is large, mainly medium-fine sandstone. In the ascending stage of Lacustrine level, the sediment granularity is small, mainly fine-siltstone and mudstone deposits. Under the control of lacustrine level changes, three sets of “binary structure” lithologic assemblage were deposited in the study area, with large grain size lower and small grain size upper. It is found that the sandstone in the lower part of the “binary structure” has good porosity and permeability. The average porosity of the TⅢ oil formation of Karamay Formation is 15.80 %, and the maximum permeability is 3.785 μm2, which can be used as a good reservoir. The TOC content of the upper part of the “binary structure” is very high, and the average TOC is 3.8 % in Huangshanjie Formation, which is a very good source rock. Therefore, lacustrine level changes in this area has a very important control effect on the on the hydrocarbon source rock and reservoir.

Featured initial microstructures of Mg-11Gd-4Y-2Zn-0.5Zr alloy (wt%) were obtained by adjusting temperatures of solid solution and cooling methods, including island intergranular 18R and 14H LPSO phases with low-density stacking faults, differentially spaced lamellar intragranular 14H-LPSO phases, and network intergranular 18R-LPSO phases with high-density intragranular stacking faults. Effects of these featured LPSO phases and stacking faults on dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior were investigated via hot compression. Promoted DRX behavior via particle stimulated nucleation (PSN) is introduced by coexisting intergranular island 18R and 14H LPSO phases and intragranular wide spacing lamellar 14H-LPSO phases, contributing the highest DRX fraction of 42.6%. Conversely, it is found that DRX behavior with network intergranular 18R-LPSO phases and dense intragranular stacking fault is considerably inhibited with the lowest fraction of 22.8%. That is, the restricted DRX due to dislocations pinning by stacking faults overwhelms the enhanced DRX behavior via PSN of island intergranular 18R and 14H LPSO phases. Specially, compared with dense intragranular lamellar 14H-LPSO phases, high-density stacking faults exert a larger inhibition effect on DRX behavior.

Abstract Background Randomized controlled study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Sanyrene® vs. control intervention (DaBao®, a complex of hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E) for acute radiation dermatitis in patients receiving radiotherapy. Methods Patients with breast cancer or head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy (≥ 50 Gy) were eligible. Participants were randomly assigned to either Sanyrene arm or control intervention arm in a ratio of 1:1. The primary endpoint was incidence rate of ≥ grade 2 radiation induced dermatitis. Abstract Accurate bearing capacity assessment under load conditions is essential for the design of concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns. This paper presents an optimization-based machine learning method to estimate the ultimate compressive strength of rectangular concrete-filled steel tube (RCFST) columns. A hybrid model, GS-SVR, was developed based on support vector machine regression (SVR) optimized by the grid search (GS) algorithm. The model was built based on a sample of 1003 axially loaded and 401 eccentrically loaded test data sets. The predictive performance of the proposed model is compared with two commonly used machine learning models and two design codes. The results obtained for the axial loading dataset with R2 of 0.983, MAE of 177.062, RMSE of 240.963, and MAPE of 12.209%, and for the eccentric loading dataset with R2 of 0.984, MAE of 93.234, RMSE of 124.924, and MAPE of 10.032% show that GS-SVR is the best model for predicting the compressive strength of RCFST columns under axial and eccentric loadings. It is an effective alternative method that can be used to assist and guide the design of RCFST columns to save time and cost of some laboratory experiments. Additionally, the impact of input parameters on the output was investigated.

Metal halide perovskite solar cell (PSC) has successfully distinguished itself in optoelectronic field by virtue of the sharp rise in power conversion efficiency over the past decade. The remarkable efficiency breakthrough at such a fast speed can be mainly attributed to the comprehensive study on film deposition techniques, especially the effective management of surface and interfacial defects in recent works. Herein, we summarized the current trends in performance enhancement for PSCs, with a focus on the generally applicable strategies in high-performance works, involving deposition methods, compositional engineering, additive engineering, crystallization manipulation, charge transport material selection, interfacial passivation, optical coupling effect and constructing tandem solar cells. Promising directions and perspectives are also provided.

Abstract The degradation process of returned straw in rice fields can improve soil organic matter and promote sustainable agriculture. The degradation process of returned straw is a humification process as well as a mineralization process involving microorganisms and enzymes. However, the degradation process of returned straw, the effect on straw decomposing microorganisms and the regulatory mechanism on potential functionality under cool climate flooding conditions are currently unknown.For this purpose, we investigated the biodegradation of straw from a biodegradation point of view at 20, 40, 71, 104, and 137 d after return under conventional (130 kg hm−2), 1/3 straw return (2933 kg hm−2), 2/3 straw return (5866 kg hm−2), and full straw return (8800 kg hm−2) applications in cool climate rice fields.. The test found Paludibacteraceae and Archaeaceae were the dominant bacteria for straw degradation, and their relative abundance was highest when 2/3 of straw was returned to the field. The straw degradation extracellular enzyme activity was higher in the late return period (104 d). At this time, the potential functionality of the soil differed significantly among the different return amounts, with the best extracellular enzyme activity and potential functionality at the 2/3 straw return amount. Therefore, the optimal amount of rice straw returned to the field is 5866 kg hm−2 at the current conventional N application rate (130 kg hm−2) in the cold zone.

High economic policy uncertainty in China amplifies operational risks and managerial pressure for businesses while driving the demand for independent audits. However, previous studies have paid limited attention to the impact of economic policy uncertainty on audit fees. This study aims to examine the impact of economic policy uncertainty on audit fees and to test whether the internal control quality will moderate this association at the firm level. This study employs the economic policy uncertainty index to measure uncertainty. The paper examines 3,469 Chinese A-share listed companies from 2007 to 2020, using STATA 17 for fixed-effects regression on panel data. The results show a robust positive association between economic policy uncertainty and audit fees (β = 0.0302, p < 0.001). However, this association is weaker for companies with better internal control quality (β = –0.0229, p < 0.001), suggesting that effective internal controls can mitigate the impact of economic policy uncertainty on audit fees. Furthermore, the findings indicate that this positive association is weaker for state-owned companies compared to non-state-owned companies (β = –0.0170, p < 0.001). At the same time, the study does not establish a significant difference in the positive association between TOP 10 and non-TOP 10 accounting firms. This study examines the adverse effects of economic policy uncertainty from the perspective of audit fees. The results have implications for stakeholders, including the need for companies to establish effective internal controls and good government-business relationships and for governments to reduce economic policy uncertainty and increase transparency in their policies.

As renewable energy sources such as wind and photovoltaics continue to enter the grid, their intermittency and instability leads to an increasing demand for peaking and frequency regulation. An efficient dynamic monitoring method is necessary to improve the safety level of intelligent operation and maintenance of power stations. To overcome the insufficient detection accuracy and poor adaptability of traditional methods, a novel fault early warning method with careful consideration of dynamic characteristics and model optimization is proposed. A combined loss function is proposed based on the dynamic time warping and the mean square error from the perspective of both shape similarity and time similarity. A prediction model of steam turbine intermediate-stage extraction temperature based on the gate recurrent unit is then proposed, and the change in prediction residuals is utilized as a fault warning criterion. In order to further improve the diagnostic accuracy, a human evolutionary optimization algorithm with lens opposition-based learning is proposed for model parameter adaptive optimization. Experiments on real-world normal and faulty operational data demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the detection accuracy by an average of 1.31% and 1.03% compared to the long short-term memory network, convolutional neural network, back propagation network, extreme learning machines, gradient boosting decision tree, and LightGBM models.

Laiwu black goats comprise an excellent local germplasm resource; however, a shortage of feed resources has led to the application of unconventional feed. Ginger straw feed has good physiological effects, but research on this feed source for ruminant animals is lacking. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of enzymatic silage ginger straw on Laiwu black goat performance. The experiment used an independent sample t-test analysis method; 24 healthy Laiwu black goats with a body weight of 20.05 ± 1.15 kg and age of 5.67 ± 0.25 months were randomly divided into two groups with three replicates (bars) per group and four goats per replicate. The experimental diet was composed of mixed concentrate, silage, and garlic peel at a 2:7:1 ratio. The silage used in the two groups was whole corn silage (CON group) and 60% whole corn silage plus 40% enzymatic silage ginger straw (SG group), and the other components were identical. Daily feed intake/daily gain (F/G) was significantly higher in the SG group than in the CON group (p < 0.05), but there were no significant differences in dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), and acid detergent fiber (ADF) digestibility between the groups. The shear force, cooking loss, centrifugal loss, and pressure loss of the longissimus dorsi muscle group were significantly lower in the SG than in the CON group (p < 0.05). Compared with those in the CON group, the serum and liver total antioxidant capacity was significantly increased in the SG group, and in the liver, the O2·−, malondialdehyde, and OH· contents were significantly decreased. Collectively, the rumen fluid microbial diversity was changed in the SG group. It was concluded that enzymatic silage ginger straw usage instead of 40% whole silage corn as feed for Laiwu black goats can significantly improve the muscle quality, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal flora, with no adverse effects on production performance. In conclusion, our study provides a basis for ginger straw processing and storage and its rational application in the Laiwu black goat diet.

Ultra-high-speed permanent magnet motors (UHSPPMs) are gradually increasing in the number of scenarios to realize energy saving and emission reduction due to their advantages such as high power density and fast response speed, and their accurate design and analysis are becoming more and more important. UHSPMMs need to consider the effects of multiple physical fields such as electromagnetism, force, and heat on their performance and structure due to their high rotational speed and small size. In this paper, firstly, the loss of each component of the motor is accurately calculated, and the distribution of the flow field and temperature field inside the motor is obtained by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to determine the limiting working conditions of each component of the motor. Secondly, the mechanical stresses of the rotor are calculated at different limiting working conditions, especially the checking of the stresses of the permanent magnets and the sleeves when they are working at different temperature gradients, in order to improve the reliability of the ultra-high-speed rotor. Furthermore, the dynamics analysis is performed for the whole rotor system to ensure stable operation for a long time at the rated working conditions. Finally, the dynamics of the whole rotor system is analyzed to ensure that the ultra-high-speed permanent magnet rotor can operate stably for a long period of time at the rated operating conditions. Based on the theoretical calculations and analyses, a 25 kW, 95 krpm prototype was designed and fabricated, and relevant experimental studies were carried out. The correctness of the calculation of rotor mechanical properties under extreme working conditions (extreme speed and extreme temperature) is verified through tests, which achieved the target of design accuracy within 5%, and can provide great help to further improve the high-precision design of UHSPMMs.

In regions characterized by the challenging combination of brine corrosion in the salt lakes and river sand with alkali silica reaction (ASR) activity in areas of the Northwest, high-performance concrete (HPC) formulated with high-volume composite mineral admixtures as ASR suppression measures has been preferred for civil engineering structures in the region. This study investigates the splitting tensile strength, corrosion products, microscopic structure characteristics, and mesoscopic mechanical mechanisms of splitting failure of such HPC under 10-year corrosion from salt lake brine. The relationship between mechanical properties and corrosion damage, as well as the characteristics of internal crack propagation paths and failure mechanisms of HPC under splitting load, are explored. The findings reveal that as the alkali content within HPC rises, corrosion damage intensifies, resulting in a reduction in splitting tensile strength. Moreover, a linear association between mechanical properties and corrosion damage is observed. Microscopic structural analysis and numerical simulation of the splitting failure process of HPC elucidate that while the substantial presence of mineral admixtures effectively suppresses the ASR risk associated with alkali-reactive aggregates in concrete, uneven ASR gel products persist. These discontinuous micro-fine interface cracks induced by the gel products and the cracks induced by the gel products around the selective alkali-active aggregate particles distributed in the local area are the initiation sources of mortar cracks in HPC splitting failure. In terms of the overall failure state observed during the concrete splitting process, mortar cracks manifest two distinct extension paths: along the coarse aggregate interface and directly through the aggregates themselves. Notably, a greater proportion of coarse aggregates are directly penetrated by mortar cracks, as opposed to the number of interface failures bypassing coarse aggregates. More importantly, the above work establishes a theoretical reference in three dimensions: macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic, for studying concrete corrosion damage in complex environments such as salt lake brine corrosion and ASR inhibition.

Electrical energy is becoming more popular due to the fact that it is economic, practical, clean, and easy to control and convert energy compared to other forms of energy. Currently, however, most of the electrical energy is converted from or to mechanical energy based on the well-known Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, which states that a current will be induced in a closed conductive coil exposed to a changing magnetic field. For that purpose, either the magnetic field itself must be changing or the magnetic field must be moving relative to the closed conductive coil. While investigating the physical significance of magductance (or magnetic-inductance), we unearthed a new electromagnetic induction mechanism that the electrical current is induced in a closed conductive coil with the invariant magnetic field by changing the magnetic parameter of magductance of the closed coil. Time-varying magductance is achieved by changing the conductivity of the coil. To demonstrate the feasibility of the electromagnetic induction, both theoretical validation and experimental verification are undertaken. We built a closed superconducting coil and successfully measured the induced electrical currents in the cooling process of the closed superconducting coil under an invariant magnetic field, thus verifying the new law of electromagnetic induction.

Summary: Type 1 innate lymphoid cells (ILC1s) possess adaptive immune features, which confer antigen-specific memory responses against haptens and viruses. However, the transcriptional regulation of memory ILC1 responses is currently not known. We show that retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor alpha (RORα) has high expression in memory ILC1s in murine contact hypersensitivity (CHS) models. RORα deficiency diminishes ILC1-mediated CHS responses significantly but has no effect on memory T cell-mediated CHS responses. During sensitization, RORα promotes sensitized-ILC1 expansion by suppressing expression of cell-cycle repressors in draining lymph nodes. RORα programs gene-expression patterns related to cell survival and is required for the long-term maintenance of memory ILC1s in the liver. Our findings reveal RORα to be a key transcriptional factor for sensitized-ILC1 expansion and long-term maintenance of memory ILC1s.

Abstract The main purpose of this study was to investigate the improvement effect and serum metabolomic analysis of co‐fermented collagen peptide‐jackfruit juice (FPJ) against immunosuppression in cyclophosphamide‐induced mice. Serum samples were analyzed using ultra‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (UPLC‐MS/MS) targeted metabolomics technology, including the normal group, model group, and FPJ group, and determine if such treatments were able to revert immunosuppression‐related metabolic changes to normal status. The results showed that 32 differential metabolites were upregulated and 42 metabolites were downregulated in the model group compared with the normal group. After FPJ intervention, there was a trend of normal callback. Adenosine, inosine, guanosine, 2‐deoxyadenosine, hypoxanthine, xanthine, d‐xylulose‐5‐phosphate, ribulose‐5‐phosphate, phenylpyruvic acid, hippuric acid, 3‐(3‐hydroxyphenyl)‐propionic acid, 3‐ureidopropionate, uridine, dCDP and malonic acid may be used as predictive markers of immunosuppression. Notably, these biomarkers were involved in purine metabolism, pentose phosphate pathway, phenylalanine metabolism, and pyrimidine metabolism. In this study, FPJ inhibited oxidative stress and improved the gut microbes by regulating the disorders of metabolic pathways. The metabolomics approach developed herein provides novel insight into the metabolic disturbances associated with immunosuppression, which will contribute to understanding the mechanism of FPJ on immunosuppression further and providing a basis for further research.

Background: The objective of this study is to investigate the postoperative recovery quality and emotional status of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who underwent robot-assisted and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery using the 15-item Quality of Recovery (QoR-15) scale and to analyze the correlation. Methods: We collected clinical data from 320 patients with NSCLC who underwent lobectomy using either robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) or video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) at our center from January 2021 to December 2022. We compared perioperative parameters and followed up after the operation using the QoR-15 scale to objectively assess the quality of postoperative recovery and physical and emotional status. Results: Apart from a notable distinction in anesthesia time, no significant differences were observed in other general data. Objectives. We aimed to develop a new calculation model for calcium requirements in dialysis patients following parathyroidectomy. Methods. A total of 98 patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism receiving parathyroidectomy from January 2014 to January 2022 were enrolled in this study. Among these patients, 78 were randomly selected for construction of the calcium requirement calculation model, and the remaining 20 patients were selected for model validation. The calcium requirement model estimated the total calcium supplementation for 1 week after surgery using variables with significant relationships in the derivation group by stepwise multiple linear regression analysis. Bias, precision, and accuracy were measured in the validation group to determine the performance of the model. Results. The model was as follows: calcium requirement for 1 week after surgery=33.798–8.929×immediate postoperative calcium+0.190×C-reactive protein–0.125×age+0.002×preoperative intact parathyroid hormone+0.003×preoperative alkaline phosphatase (R2=0.8). The model was successfully validated. Conclusion. We generated a novel model to guide calcium supplementation. This model can assist in stabilizing the serum calcium levels of patients during the early postoperative period. Furthermore, it contributes to the individualized and precise treatment of hypocalcemia in patients following parathyroidectomy.

Abstract At present, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. Chemotherapy remains the standard treatment for NSCLC. However, the emergence of chemoresistance is one of the major obstacles to lung cancer treatment. Plant homologous structural domain finger protein 23 (PHF23) plays crucial roles in multiple cell fates. However, the clinical significance and biological role of PHF23 in NSCLC remain elusive. The Cancer Genome Atlas data mining, NCBI/GEO data mining, and western blotting analysis were employed to characterize the expression of PHF23 in NSCLC cell lines and tissues. Statistical analysis of immunohistochemistry and the Kaplan–Meier Plotter database were used to investigate the clinical significance of PHF23. A series of in vivo and in vitro assays, including assays for colony formation, cell viability, 5-ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine (EDU incorporation) and Transwell migration, flow cytometry, RT-PCR, gene set enrichment analysis, co-immunoprecipitation analysis, and a xenograft tumor model, were performed to demonstrate the effects of PHF23 on the chemosensitivity of NSCLC cells and to clarify the underlying molecular mechanisms. PHF23 is overexpressed in NSCLC cell lines and tissues. High PHF23 levels correlate with short survival times and a poor response to chemotherapy in NSCLC patients. PHF23 overexpression facilitates cell proliferation, migration and sensitizes NSCLC cells to Cisplatin and Docetaxel by promoting DNA damage repair. Alpha-actinin-4 (ACTN4), as a downstream regulator, interacts with PHD domain of PHF23. Moreover, PHF23 is involved in ACTN4 stabilization by inhibiting its ubiquitination level. These results show that PHF23 plays an important role in the development and progression of NSCLC and suggest that PHF23 may serve as a therapeutic target in NSCLC patients.

Abstract Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is the leading cause of acute liver failure (ALF). Continuous and prolonged hepatic cellular oxidative stress and liver inflammatory stimuli are key signatures of DILI. DEAD-box helicase 3, X-linked (DDX3X) is a central regulator in pro-survival stress granule (SG) assembly in response to stress signals. However, the role of DDX3X in DILI remains unknown. Herein, we characterized the hepatocyte-specific role of DDX3X in DILI. Human liver tissues of DILI patients and control subjects were used to evaluate DDX3X expression. APAP, CCl4 and TAA models of DILI were established and compared between hepatocyte-specific DDX3X knockout (DDX3XΔhep) and wild-type control (DDX3Xfl/fl) mice. Hepatic expression of DDX3X was significantly decreased in the pathogenesis of DILI compared with controls in human and mice. Compared to DDX3Xfl/fl mice, DDX3XΔhep mice developed significant liver injury in multiple DILI models. DDX3X deficiency aggravates APAP induced oxidative stress and hepatocyte death by affecting the pro-survival stress granule (SG) assembly. Moreover, DDX3X deficiency induces inflammatory responses and causes pronounced macrophage infiltration. The use of targeted DDX3X drug maybe promising for the treatment of DILI in human.

Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is widely recognized as a promising technique to enhance the system performance, and thus is a hot research topic in future wireless communications. In this context, this paper proposes a robust BF scheme to improve the spectrum and energy harvesting efficiencies for the IRS-aided simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in a cognitive radio network (CRN). Here, the base station (BS) utilizes spectrum assigned to the primary users (PUs) to simultaneously serve multiple energy receivers (ERs) and information receivers (IRs) through IRS-aided multicast technology. In particular, by assuming that only the imperfect channel state information (CSI) is available, we first formulate a constrained problem to maximize the minimal achievable rate of IRs, while satisfying the harvesting energy threshold of ERs, the quality-of-service requirement of IRs, the interference threshold of PUs and transmit power budget of BS. To address the nonconvex problem, we then adopt triangle inequality to deal with the channel uncertainty, and propose a low-complexity algorithm combining alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) with alternating optimization (AO) to jointly optimize the active and passive beamformers for the BS and IRS, respectively. Finally, our simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed BF scheme and also provide useful insights into the importance of introducing IRS into the CRN with SWIPT.

Abstract Understanding the load-carrying capacity of circular concrete-filled steel tube (CCFST) columns is crucial for designing CCFST structures. However, traditional empirical formulas often yield inconsistent results for the same scenario, causing confusion for decision makers. Additionally, simple regression analysis is unable to accurately predict the complex mapping relationship between input and output variables. To address these limitations, this paper proposes an ensemble model that incorporates multiple input features, such as component geometry and material properties, to predict CCFST load capacity. The model is trained and tested on two datasets comprising 1305 tests on CCFST columns under concentric loading and 499 tests under eccentric loading. The results demonstrate that the proposed ensemble model outperforms conventional support vector regression and random forest models in terms of the determination coefficient (R2) and error metrics (MAE, RMSE, and MAPE). Moreover, a feature analysis based on the Shapley additive interpretation (SHAP) technique indicates that column diameter is the most critical factor affecting compressive strength. Other important factors include tube thickness, yield strength of steel tube, and concrete compressive strength, all of which have a positive effect on load capacity. Conversely, an increase in column length or eccentricity leads to a decrease in load capacity. These findings can provide useful insights and guidance for the design of CCFST columns.

The outbreak of algal blooms caused by cyanobacteria has led to a significant concern regarding water safety due to the release of microcystins. This study aimed to investigate the release and removal of microcystins (RR, LR) using coagulant polyaluminum chloride (PAC) with the assistance of nano-Fe3O4 particles. The findings indicate that the addition of PAC alone resulted in the rupture of Microcystis aeruginosa cells, leading to the release of microcystins into the water. PAC alone faced challenges in coagulating and removing the extracellular microcystins, especially at low dosages, but increasing the dosage of PAC could promote the release of intracellular microcystins. When combined with nano-Fe3O4, even a low concentration of PAC exhibited effective removal of microcystins in water. The presence of nano-Fe3O4 facilitated the hydrolysis of PAC, resulting in the production of Alc, which enhanced the coagulation performance of PAC. Furthermore, the addition of nano-Fe3O4 significantly improved the removal rate of microcystins by coagulant PAC under different pH conditions. Notably, at pH 5, the residual amount of microcystins was only about 7% compared to PAC alone. This study holds great significance in terms of achieving safer and more economical removal of microcystins from water.

Food-borne bioactive peptides have shown promise in preventing and mitigating alcohol-induced liver injury. This study was the first to assess the novel properties of Mactra chinenesis peptides (MCPs) in mitigating acute alcoholic liver injury in mice, and further elucidated the underlying mechanisms associated with this effect. The results showed that MCPs can improve lipid metabolism by modulating the AMPK signaling pathway, decreasing fatty acid synthase activity, and increasing carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1a activity. Meanwhile, MCPs ameliorate inflammation by inhibiting the NF-κB activation, leading to reduced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β). Additionally, a 16S rDNA sequencing analysis revealed that MCPs can restore the balance of gut microbiota and increase the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria. These findings suggest that supplementation of MCPs could attenuate alcohol intake-induced acute liver injury, and, thus, may be utilized as a functional dietary supplement for the successful treatment and prevention of acute liver injury.

Photopolymers, especially acrylate-based ones with low cost and simple preparation, are promising materials for high-efficiency holographic gratings. However, it is still challenging to achieve high-performance gratings, due to the influences of many factors. In this work, we found that the dark reaction plays a critical role. The effect of the dark reaction on the optical properties of holographic gratings was investigated. Experimental results reveal that the diffraction efficiency of the gratings can be improved by a factor of three by involving the dark reaction process, and the highest diffraction efficiency for gratings can reach 97.8% after optimization. Therefore, the dark reaction can greatly enhance the optical performance of acrylate-based holographic gratings and other optical elements, thus holding great potential for many applications.

Background: This study aimed to identify the biomarkers related to myocardial infarction based on building lncRNA–miRNA–mRNA ceRNA regulation network. Methods: The expression profile data were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. The differentially expressed RNAs (DElncRNAs, DEmiRNAs, and DEmRNAs) were analyzed using the limma package of R. In addition, the differential myocardial infarction-related genes were obtained and the Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway on the differential myocardial infarction-related genes were analyzed. The co-expression network of lncRNA–mRNA was constructed, and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway of such a co-expression network was analyzed. Moreover, the lncRNA–miRNA–mRNA ceRNA network associated with myocardial infarction was built, and the key biomarkers of the ceRNA network were verified using the GSE141512 and GSE66752 datasets. Results: In total, we acquired 51 DElncRNAs, 276 DEmiRNAs, and 1200 DEmRNAs as well as 291 differential myocardial infarction-related genes. Moreover, the co-expression network of lncRNA–mRNA was built, and mRNAs were found to be associated with 109 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways (the target gene of RP3-394A18.1 was significantly related to lipid and atherosclerosis). In addition, the ceRNA network related to myocardial infarction was constructed, and the dataset analyses of the RNAs were validated between the myocardial infarction and normal groups. It was also found that the expression levels of hsa-miR-1291 and Retinoid acid receptor-related orphan receptor α (RORA) in the myocardial infarction group were noticeably lower than those in the normal group, whereas the expression levels of ENTPD1, QSOX1, and TIMP2 in the myocardial infarction group were noticeably higher than those in the normal group. Conclusion: In this study, we built a ceRNA regulation network of myocardial infarction. This study could help identify the biomarkers related to myocardial infarction.

Abstract Background There is no standard reconstruction method following proximal gastrectomy, of which gastroesophageal reflux and anastomotic complications are of great concern. Though several techniques have been devised to overcome these postoperative complications, such as double tract reconstruction, double-flap technique and side overlap fundoplication by Yamashita, none of them is considered a perfect solution. Herein, we designed a novel method of esophagogastrostomy after laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy (LPG), named right-sided overlap and single-flap valvuloplasty (ROSF). Methods Between March 2021 and December 2021, 20 consecutive patients underwent LPG-ROSF at Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. Surgical outcomes and postoperative complications were recorded. All patients were followed-up until December 2022. Endoscopy and assessment of gastrointestinal symptoms were performed 1 year after surgery. Nutrition-related parameters including total body weight, hemoglobin, lymphocyte count, serum total protein, serum albumin and serum prealbumin were evaluated 1 year after surgery and compared with those before surgery. Results The mean surgery time and anastomosis time was 285.3 ± 71.3 and 61.3 ± 11.2 min respectively. None of the patients had gastrointestinal early postoperative complications. Symptomatic reflux was observed in one patient (5%) while reflux esophagitis (Los Angeles Grade A) was observed in another patient (5%). Four patients (20%) had mild dysphagia (Visick score = II) but none of them had anastomotic stenosis. There were no significant changes in nutritional status postoperatively. Conclusions ROSF can be safely performed after LPG and has satisfactory outcomes in preventing reflux and stenosis, and maintaining nutritional status. This technique requires further validation.

Abstract This study presents an analytical model (ANA) for predicting magnetic field and performances of a fractional slot (FS) double‐layer‐winding (DLW) vernier permanent magnet (VPM) machine. Magnetic vector potential equations of a FS DLW VPM machine are analytically solved by the technique of variable separation in three subdomains, that is, regions of permanent magnets (PM), air‐gap, and slots in 2‐D polar coordinate system. Field distributions and performances, such as flux linkage, electromotive force (EMF), torque and inductance of a FS DLW VPM machine are developed. Results from ANA of an 18‐slot/2‐stator‐pole‐pair FS DLW VPM machine prototype have been compared with those from finite element analysis (FEA), which indicates that ANA has a huge advantage in the computing speed in addition to a good accuracy. In the end, a prototype is built and its EMF and torque are tested in experiment platforms in which the results verify ANA. The necessity and importance of the research is that the model is an analytical method which provides a close solution of magnetic field and performances of a FS DLW VPM machine and its calculation time is much less than FEA on the base of a good precision.

Abstract The smart city model for operation and governance of modern cities requires huge quantities of data about people and the environment to support related applications, and crowdsourcing is effective for collecting and processing such data. Numerous reviews of the literature on crowdsourcing and smart cities as separate research fields have been published. Research on the intersection of the two is relatively new and lacks a systematic literature review. This study applies bibliometric and scientometric research methods and the research tools to study 367 related publications retrieved from the Web of Science database. Keyword co‐occurrence analysis was conducted to find the distribution of publications, research cooperation, and major research areas. Document co‐citation analysis was used to examine the domain knowledge structure, and citation burst detection was used to identify trends in research in this topic area. The analysis results clarify the research content and evolutionary context and reveal emerging research trends.

The overall oocyte quality declines with aging, and this effect is strongly associated with a higher reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and the resultant oxidative damage. C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) is a well-characterized physiological meiotic inhibitor that has been successfully used to improve immature oocyte quality during in vitro maturation. However, the underlying roles of CNP in maternally aged oocytes have not been reported. Here, we found that the age-related reduction in the serum CNP concentration was highly correlated with decreased oocyte quality. Treatment with exogenous CNP promoted follicle growth and ovulation in aged mice and enhanced meiotic competency and fertilization ability. Interestingly, the cytoplasmic maturation of aged oocytes was thoroughly improved by CNP treatment, as assessed by spindle/chromosome morphology and redistribution of organelles (mitochondria, the endoplasmic reticulum, cortical granules, and the Golgi apparatus). CNP treatment also ameliorated DNA damage and apoptosis caused by ROS accumulation in aged oocytes. Importantly, oocyte RNA-seq revealed that the beneficial effect of CNP on aged oocytes was mediated by restoration of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, eliminating excessive mitophagy. CNP reversed the defective phenotypes in aged oocytes by alleviating oxidative damage and suppressing excessive PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitophagy. Mechanistically, CNP functioned as a cAMP/PKA pathway modulator to decrease PINK1 stability and inhibit Parkin recruitment. In summary, our results demonstrated that CNP supplementation constitutes an alternative therapeutic approach for advanced maternal age-related oocyte deterioration and may improve the overall success rates of clinically assisted reproduction in older women.
