To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Jianpi Jieyu Decoction (JJD) for treating patients with mild-to-moderate depression of Xin (Heart)-Pi (Spleen) deficiency (XPD) syndrome.In this multi-center, randomized, controlled study, 140 patients with mild-to-moderate depression of XPD syndrome were included from Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Botou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2017 to December 2019. They were randomly divided into JJD group and paroxetine group by using a random number table, with 70 cases in each group. The patients in the JJD group were given JJD one dose per day (twice daily at morning and evening, 100 mL each time), and the patients in the paroxetine group were given paroxetine (10 mg/d in week 1; 20 mg/d in weeks 2-6), both orally administration for a total of 6 weeks. The primary outcome was the change of 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) score at week 6 from baseline. The secondary outcomes included the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) score, Traditional Chinese Medicine Symptom Scale (TCMSS), and Clinlcal Global Impression (CGI) scores at the 2nd, 4th, and 6th weekends of treatment, HAMD-17 response (defined as a reduction in score of50%) and HAMD-17 remission (defined as a score of ⩽7) at the end of the 6th week of treatment. Adverse events (AEs) were also recorded.From baseline to week 6, the HAMD-17 scores decreased 10.2 ± 4.0 and 9.1 ± 4.9 points in the JJD and paroxetine groups, respectively (P=0.689). The HAMD-17 response occurred in 60% of patients in the JJD group and in 50% of those in the paroxetine group (P=0.292); HAMD-17 remission occurred in 45.7% and 30% of patients, respectively (P=0.128). The differences of CGI scores at the 6th week were not statistically significant (P0.05). There were significant differences in HAMD-17 scores between the two groups at 2nd and 4th week (P=0.001 and P=0.014). The HAMA scores declined 8.1 ± 3.0 and 6.9 ± 4.3 points from baseline to week 6 in the JJD and paroxetine groups, respectively (P=0.905 between groups). At 4th week of treatment, there was a significant difference in HAMA between the two groups (P=0.037). TCMSS decreased 11.4 ± 5.1, and 10.1 ± 6.8 points in the JJD and paroxetine groups, respectively (P=0.080 between groups). At the 6th week, the incidence of AEs in the JJD group was significantly lower than that in the paroxetine group (7.14% vs. 22.86%, P0.05).Compared with paroxetine, JJD was associated with a significantly lower incidence of AEs in patients with mild-to-moderate depression of XPD syndrome, with no difference in efficacy at 6 weeks. Li2MoO3 (LMO) is a promising stabilization block for constructing high performance lithium-rich layered oxides. However, its poor electronic conductivity, surface instability in air, and capacity degradation are drawbacks for the application. To solve these issues, non-equivalent Nb5+ dopants were introduced into the LMO lattice. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations combined with experimental characterizations have confirmed that Nb5+ doping not only enhances the Mo–O bonds of LMO but also reduces its band gap and further suppresses the oxidation of surface Mo4+, leading to a much-improved lattice and surface stabilities. Therefore, the electrochemical performances of LMNO are improved obviously. The initial discharge capacities of LMO, LMNO-0.01, LMNO-0.02, and LMNO-0.03 are 232.6, 234.7, 251.6, and 246.3 mAh·g−1, respectively. LMNO-0.02 exhibits the best performance, and its specific capacities at the 1st and 100th cycles reach 144.13 and 72.06 mA g−1 under a 3C charging rate and a 5C discharging rate. Our results have demonstrated that non-equivalent cationic doping is an effective strategy to modulate the bonding characteristics of LMO and therefore to improve its electrochemical performance.

Weiqi, also called Go or Baduk, is regarded as the most complicated board game in the world. Weiqi playing has a very long history in East Asia. Its strategic thinking in decision-making even affects militarists there. The availability of the records of almost all Weiqi games in the past decades enables us to perform quantitative studies about this sport with high statistical significance. Here, we construct the directed and undirected Elo transfer networks using over 80,000 Weiqi game records from 1941 to 2019. We investigate the distributions of network measures of the two Elo transfer networks, such as node degree, clustering coefficient, betweenness centrality, and closeness centrality. We find a strong correlation between the average Elo value of a Weiqi player and a few node traits. We also find a rich-club phenomenon among high-Elo players. The two networks are unveiled to possess significant communities, which are consistent with each other and can be well interpreted by player’s affiliation, gender, and Elo value. These findings are different in a large part from those of the chess Elo transfer networks.

Given its regionally lopsided development, the sports industry in China now largely features spatial and geographical agglomeration. Profitability is an important parameter for the sustainable development of an industry. It is interesting to make clear whether the profitability of Chinese sports industry features regional agglomeration. We firstly make a statistical analysis and probability density analysis by Random Matrix Theory (RMT) based on monthly provincial profit margin data of the sporting goods manufacturing industry listed from 2011 to 2015. We find that the profit margin of this industry is not randomly distributed over the regions. We also focus on the collective market effects of the profitability of this industry. Through the method of regression analysis on the largest 3 eigenvalues of the profit margin, we find that the eigenvalues reflect the collective market effects in Profit to Cost Ratio (PCR) and Return on Sales (ROS). At last, we search each correlation matrix of the profit margin for the clusters of provinces by using the clustering methods. We find the majority of the provinces can be categorized into clusters and most of the correlated provinces are adjacency or proximity. Our analysis provides a new understanding of the regional characteristics of sports industry profitability and offers potential practical values for the government and entrepreneurs.

We construct the empirical information network (EIN) of traders using the order flow data of the constituent stocks of SZSE 100 Index in 2013. A statistical validation method is applied to the edges of the network to filter out noises and uncover the intrinsic interaction behaviors of traders. We investigate the correlation between topological structures and statistical properties for their largest connected components. We find that the statistical validated network shows an assortative mixing pattern while the original network exhibits a disassortative mixing pattern. We consider two definitions of edge weight for comparison but there is no significant difference in a same network. We also analyze the mutual relationships among node degree, edge weight and node strength.

To investigate the prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms and the associated risk factors among first-line medical staff in Wuhan during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic. From March 5 to 15, 2020, the Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Hamilton Depression scale were used to investigate the anxiety and depression status of medical staff in Wuhan Cabin Hospital (a Hospital). Two hundred seventy-six questionnaires were received from 96 doctors and 180 nurses, including 79 males and 197 females. During the COVID-19 epidemic, the prevalence rate of anxiety and depression was 27.9% and 18.1%, respectively, among 276 front-line medical staff in Wuhan. The prevalence rate of anxiety and depression among doctors was 19.8% and 11.5%, respectively, and the prevalence rate of anxiety and depression among nurses was 32.2% and 21.7%, respectively. Females recorded higher total scores for anxiety and depression than males, and nurses recorded higher scores for anxiety and depression than doctors. During the COVID-19 epidemic, some first-line medical staff experienced mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. Nurses were more prone to anxiety and depression than doctors. Effective strategies toward to improving the mental health should be provided to first-line medical staff, especially female medical staff and nurses.

OBJECTIVE: To study the role of vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) in pulmonary vascular remodeling in neonatal rats with hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH) by regulating survivin (SVV). METHODS: A total of 96 neonatal rats were randomly divided into three groups: HPH+VEGF-A group, HPH group, and control group. Each group was further randomly divided into 3-, 7-, 10-, and 14-day subgroups (n=8 in each subgroup). The neonatal rats in the HPH+VEGF-A and HPH groups were intratracheally transfected with adenoviral vectors with or without VEGF-A gene respectively. Those in the control group were given intratracheal injection of normal saline and were then fed under normoxic conditions. The direct measurement method was used to measure mean right ventricular systolic pressure (RVSP). Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to observe the morphological changes of pulmonary vessels under a light microscope and calculate the percentage of media wall thickness (MT%) and the percentage of media wall cross-sectional area (MA%) in the pulmonary arterioles. Immunohistochemistry was used to measure the expression levels of VEGF-A and SVV in lung tissue. RESULTS: The HPH group had a significantly higher mean RVSP than the control and HPH+VEGF-A groups at each time point (P < 0.05). Pulmonary vascular remodeling occurred in the HPH group on day 7 of hypoxia, while it occurred in the HPH+VEGF-A group on day 10 of hypoxia. On day 7 of hypoxia, the HPH group had significantly higher MT% and MA% than the control and HPH+VEGF-A groups (P < 0.05). On days 10 and 14 of hypoxia, the HPH and HPH+VEGF-A groups had significantly higher MT% and MA% than the control group (P < 0.05). The HPH and HPH+VEGF-A groups had significantly higher expression of VEGF-A than the control group at each time point (P < 0.05). On days 3 and 7 of hypoxia, the HPH+VEGF-A group had significantly higher expression of VEGF-A than the HPH group (P < 0.05). On day 14 of hypoxia, the HPH group had significantly higher expression of SVV than the control group (P < 0.05). The HPH+VEGF-A group had significantly higher expression of SVV than the control group at each time point (P < 0.05). On days 3 and 7 of hypoxia, the HPH+VEGF-A group had significantly higher expression of SVV than the HPH group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Prophylactic intratracheal administration of exogenous VEGF-A in neonatal rats with HPH can inhibit pulmonary vascular remodeling and reduce pulmonary arterial pressure by upregulating the expression of SVV in the early stage of hypoxia. This provides a basis for the interventional treatment of pulmonary vascular remodeling in neonatal HPH.

Background: The full clinical spectrum of neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) and its relationship with genotype have not been documented. We aimed to identify the clinical, neuroimaging, and genetic features of adult-onset NIID. Methods: An adult-onset NIID registry was launched in multiple centres throughout China. Clinical data, routine brain magnetic resonance imaging, and skin pathologies were evaluated. Arterial spin labelling magnetic resonance imaging and electrophysiological studies were conducted. Repeat-primed and amplicon length polymerase chain reaction were used to screen (GGC)n repeat expansions in the 5’ untranslated region of the NOTCH2NLC gene. Findings: In total, 134 adult-onset patients with NIID (66% female) from 72 clinical centres were included; 23 cases were familial. The mean age of onset was 56·9±9·4 years. The median disease duration was 4 (IQR 2–9) years. Adult-onset NIID was divided into three subtypes based on primary manifestations: dementia-dominant type (n=65), parkinsonism-dominant type (n=19), and episodic neurogenic event-dominant type (n=45). Among the patients, 90·5% presented with mild demyelinating polyneuropathy. All patients presented with high intensities along the corticomedullary junction on diffusion-weighted imaging, and 53·7% of them presented with abnormal hyperintensity in the paravermal area on T2/fluid-attenuated inversion recovery images. Cerebral blood flow in the whole brain was lower and that in globus pallidus was higher in patients with NIID than in healthy controls. (GGC) n repeat number in the 5’-untranslated region of the NOTCH2NLC gene ranged from 82 to 173 repeats. A significant inverse correlation between (GGC) n repeat number and age of onset was observed (r=–0·203, p=0·018). Interpretation: This study provides a novel classification of adult-onset NIID for clinical application. Decreased cerebral perfusion may underpin the pathogenesis of NIID and highlight the potential of perfusion modulation therapy. (GGC) n repeat number was inversely correlated with the age of onset, and the pathogenetic effect may have a cumulative effect. To explore the possible etiological factors of iron overload through detecting plasma hepcidin level of adult males at Tibet plateau.81 Tibetan male adult patients hospitalized in our department during January 2017 - December 2018 were selected, and divided into iron overload group and non-iron overload group. The difference in serum ferritin, serum iron, total iron binding capacity, hemoglobin, HBSAg, ALT, AST, albumin, creatinine and hepcidin of patients in each group were tested. To analyze the differences between groups. The regression analysis was applied to analyze the relationship between laboratory index and hepcidin.The plasma hepcidin of iron overload group was significantly higher than that of the non-iron overload group [93.69 (65.57-133.92) ng/ml vs 63.93 (40.01-90.65) ng/ml] (P=0.005). And there was a positive correlation between plasma hepcidin and ferritin (β=0.03 ng/ml，95%CI 0.01-0.05) (P0.01) and BMI (β=5.71 ng/ml，95%CI 0.54-10.88) (P0.05）.Iron overload at Tibet plateau can not be attributed to hepcidin deficiency in Tibetan adult male patients. Iron metabolism disorders in Tibetan population may be associated with metabolic syndrome.西藏高原地区铁过载患者铁调素的水平变化.检测西藏高原成年藏族男性的血浆铁调素水平，探讨引起铁过载的可能病因。.筛选从2017年1月-2018年12月于我科住院治疗的成年藏族男性患者共81例，分为铁过载和非铁过载2组，检测患者血清铁蛋白、血清铁、总铁结合力、血红蛋白、HBSAg、ALT、AST、白蛋白、血肌酐、铁调素，统计分析组间差异，使用回归分析法分析各项指标与铁调素的相关性。.铁过载组的血浆铁调素显著高于非铁过载组[93.69 (65.57-133.92) ng/ml vs 63.93 (40.01- 90.65) ng/ml]（P=0.005）。应用回归分析发现，铁调素与铁蛋白（β=0.03 ng/ml，95%CI 0.01-0.05）（P=0.0010）、BMI (β=5.71 ng/ml，95%CI 0.54-10.88）（P=0.0338）呈正相关。.西藏高原的藏族成年男性患铁过载并不是由于体内铁调素缺乏引起的，西藏高原藏族人群的铁代谢紊乱可能与代谢综合征有关。.

To investigate the anxiety and depression of patients with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) who participated in Baduanjin exercise. From February 20, 2020 to March 7, 2020, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression scale (HAD) were used to investigate the anxiety and depression levels of patients with COVID-19 who participated in Baduanjin exercise. Ninety one questionnaires were received, including 40 males and 51 females. Stepwise regression analysis was used to analyze the effects of related factors on anxiety and depression levels. In Square cabin hospital, 91% of patients participated in Baduanjin exercise had no obvious anxiety and 82% had no obvious depression. The scores of anxiety and depression of female patients were significantly higher than that of male patients. Bachelor degree or above with low scores for anxiety and depression. The frequency of Baduanjin exercise was negatively correlated with anxiety and depression score. The development of Baduanjin exercise has a certain positive influence on the COVID-19 patients in the Square cabin hospital, which is conducive to alleviate anxiety and depression symptoms of the patients.

Aim This study aimed to determine whether serum ferritin (SF) is an independent risk factor of the incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and rapid renal function decline (RFD) in male Tibetan patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study that included 191 male Tibetan patients with T2DM without CKD. Patients were divided into three groups according to the level of SF. The explore the molecular basis of iron-overload in Tibet nationality population of Tibet.The inpatients with iron-overload in our department from Dec. 1st 2014 to Jul.31st 2016 were enrolled in this study. Abdominal MRI and the mutation sites C282Y and H63D in HFE exon were examined. For HFE mutation-negative patients, the non-HFE mutation was detected, including 5 HJV mutations of G320V, p.Q312X, p.D249H, p.I281T, p.C321X and 2 TFR2 mutations: (Y250X, I238M), and 2 SLC40A1 mutations: (V162del, N144H).Among 113 iron overload patients, only one showed homozygous p.H63D mutation, and one showed heterozygosis p.H63D mutation. In 73 patients accepted non-HFE gene detection, only one was heterozygosis p.D249N mutation in HJV, and one was heterozygosis p.I238M mutation in TFR2.Currently, the pathogenic gene for Tibetan iron-overload has not yet been found.西藏藏族铁过载患者HFE基因及非HFE基因的突变研究.探讨西藏藏族人群铁过载的分子基础。.筛选自2014年12月-2016年7月在我科住院治疗的西藏藏族居民，选取其中存在有铁过载的患者，行腹部MRI及HFE基因位点C282Y、H63D检测，对有HFE突变阴性的患者，再进一步行非HFE基因常见突变位点的检测，包括HJV基因的G320V、p.Q312X、p.D249H、p.I281T、p.C321X，TFR2基因的Y250X和I238M及SLC40A1基因的V162del、N144H。.全部113人行HFE基因位点C282Y、H63D检测中，仅发现1例p.H63D纯合型和10例p.H63D杂合型；在同意行非HFE基因检测的73例患者中，仅发现1例HJV p.D249N杂合突变、1例TFR2 p.I238M杂合突变。.目前尚未查见导致西藏藏族铁过载的致病基因。.

User activity fluctuations reflect the performance of online society. We investigate the statistical properties of 1-min user activity time series of simultaneously online users inhabited in 95 independent virtual worlds. The number of online users exhibits clear intraday and weekly patterns due to human's circadian rhythms and week cycles. Statistical analysis shows that the distribution of absolute activity fluctuations has a power-law tail for 44 virtual worlds with an average tail exponent close to 2.15. The partition function approach unveils that the absolute activity fluctuations possess multifractal features for all the 95 virtual worlds. For the sample of 44 virtual worlds with power-law tailed distributions of the absolute activity fluctuations, the width of singularity $\Delta\alpha$ is negatively correlated with the maximum activity ($p$-value=0.070) and the time to the maximum activity ($p$-value=0.010). The negative correlations are not observed for neither the other 51 virtual worlds nor the whole sample of the 95 virtual worlds. In addition, numerical experiments indicate that both temporal structure and large fluctuations have influence on the multifractal spectrum. Salinity is one of the major environmental constraints limiting crop plant yields around the world. Therefore, understanding the salt-tolerant mechanism and improving crop salt tolerance are two of the most effective ways of sustaining crop production worldwide. The differences in metabolite profiles were analyzed between common wild soybean and salt-tolerant wild soybean in response to neutral-salt stress and alkali-salt stress to elucidate the salt-tolerant mechanism. The results showed salt-tolerant wild soybean grew better than common wild soybean under both treatments. Differential metabolites profiling showed that the levels of some carbohydrates and fatty acids were lower in common wild soybean than in salt-tolerant wild soybean under salt stress. These metabolites included lactose, ribose, lauric acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, and linolenic acid. Amino acid accumulation was observed in the two wild soybeans under alkali-salt stress. These amino acids were valine, tyrosine, glutamic acid, leucine, and isoleucine. The content of most organic acids and proline increased in salt-tolerant wild soybean subjected to alkali-salt stress. These organic acids included mucic acid, glutaric acid, galactonic acid, and dehydroascorbic acid. The TCA cycle was enhanced in common wild soybean in response to both treatments, but was reduced in salt-tolerant wild soybean. This study demonstrated the salt-tolerant mechanism in common wild soybean may encourage the TCA cycle to generate more ATP. However salt-tolerant wild soybean may regulate amino acid and organic acid metabolism to generate more compatible solutes. These findings provide an important theoretical foundation for the protection, development, and utilization of wild soybean resources.

Price limit trading rules are useful to cool off traders short-term trading mania on individual stocks. The price dynamics approaching the limit boards are known as the magnet effect. However, the price dynamics after opening price limit hits are not well investigated. Here, we provide a detailed analysis on the price dynamics after the hits of up-limit or down-limit is open based on all A-share stocks traded in the Chinese stock markets. A “W” shape is found in the expected return, which reveals high probability of a continuous price limit hit on the following day. We also find that price dynamics after opening limit hits are dependent on the market trends. The time span of continuously hitting the price limit is found to an influence factor of the expected profit after the limit hit is open. Our analysis provides a better understanding of the price dynamics around the limit boards and contributes potential practical values for investors.

The hydraulic concrete durability under the alternation of freeze-thaw and carbonation has been systematically investigated in this work, where both the micro part and the microscopic characteristics of concrete interface were analyzed based on computed tomography (CT) test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Average CT numbers of each section, declined at water-cement ratio of 0.35, increased at 0.45, and changed a little at 0.55. The specimen in the absence of fly ash exhibited less types of hydration products and the surface was observed to be a needle-like ettringite, with a relatively dense overall structure. However, with the increase of fly ash content, pores and micro-cracks of specimen structure increased. Hexagonal flake calcium hydroxide, present in the specimen after the first carbonation, was negligible in the test pieces of the first freezethaw where the main hydration products were ettringite and calcium silicate gel. Regular hexagonal plates of calcium hydroxide exhibited in the interior of the specimen in which charring first occurred but calcium hydroxide rarely existed in the interior of the specimen in which freeze-thaw first occurred.

This study was conducted to determine the differences and changes in trends of physiological metabolism in the process of adaptation to saline environments and artificial domestication among the subgenus Soja. Glycine max, Glycine gracilis and Glycine soja were used as the experimental material. The determination of mineral contents during different growth periods and the photosynthetic pigments, gas exchange parameters and soluble carbohydrate contents in the initial bloom stage were investigated. The results showed that, NO3, H2PO4, Cu, Zn and B contents and the photosynthetic pigments, gas exchange parameters and photosynthetic product were significantly higher in salt-tolerant wild soybean than in common wild soybean. NO3, H2PO4, SO4, K, Mg, Fe, Cu, Mo and Mn contents were significantly lower in cultivated soybean than in common wild soybean; and Ca and B were significantly higher. The photosynthetic pigments, gas exchange parameters and photosynthetic product at the initial bloom stage in cultivated soybean were significant higher than in common wild soybean and semi-wild soybean. The correlations of H2PO4, SO4, K, Mg, Mo and Mn with photosynthetic characteristic parameters significantly differed among members of Soja. Our study confirmed that mineral contents and photosynthetic characteristics among Soja had evolved towards the different environments and human requirements during long-term natural selection and artificial domestication. These findings will contribute to understanding the evolutionary trend of soybean. © 2016 Friends Science Publishers

The thermodynamic stabilities, surface morphologies, and electronic structures of the LiTi2O4 compound were investigated by the first-principles methods. The formation enthalpies and lattice constants of LixTi2O4 decrease at first and then increase again. This phenomenon is related to the balance between Li O attractions and Li Li repulsions. Population analysis revealed that pure ionic and strong covalent bonds are formed respectively between lithium and oxygen and between titanium and oxygen in LiTi2O4 material. These interactions are very crucial for the thermodynamic stability of the compounds. The surface stability was considered as functions of the chemical potentials, and five terminations, (100)-Ti2O4, (110)-Ti2O4, (210)-Ti2O4, (111)-LiTiO4, and (310)-Ti2O8ones, are dominant in the stability diagram. Our calculation showed that a particle morphology with mono (110) facet can be obtained at Ti- and/or O-moderate conditions, and this morphology will be very helpful for improving the rate performance of the material via reduction of the lithium diffusion distance. Furthermore, partially filled electronic states at the Fermi energy were confirmed for bulk LiTi2O4 and some of the surfaces, and they are responsible for the excellent electronic conductivity of the material. Further calculations showed that the work functions are sensitive to the stoichiometry of the surfaces.
