Osteoarthritis (OA) has become a serious problem to the human society for years due to its high economic burden, disability, pain, and severe impact on the patient’s lifestyle. The importance of current clinical imaging modalities in the assessment of the onset and progression of OA is well recognized by clinicians, but these modalities can only detect OA in the II stage with significant structural deterioration and clinical symptoms. Blood vessel formation induced by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) occurs in the early stage and throughout the entire course of OA, enables VEGF relating gene sequence to act as a biomarker in the field of early diagnosis and monitoring of the disease. Here in, a facile rapid detection of VEGF relating ssDNA sequence was developed, in which manganese-based zeolitic imidazolate framework nanoparticles (Mn-ZIF-NPs) were synthesized by a simple coprecipitation strategy, followed by the introduction and surficial absorption of probe ssDNAs and the CRISPR/Cas12a system components. Furthermore, fluorescence experiments demonstrated that the biosensor displayed a low detection limit of 2.49 nM, a good linear response to the target ssDNA ranging from 10 nM to 500 nM, and the ability of distinguishing single nucleotide polymorphism. This finding opens a new window for the feasible and rapid detection of ssDNA molecules for the early diagnose of OA.

Hollow Co3O4@MnO2 cubic nanomaterials are synthesized by ZIF-67@Mn-ZIF sacrificial precursor through a facile thermal treatment. As a kind of supercapacitor electrode material, it demonstrates high performances, such as specific capacitance of 413 F g−1 at the current density of 0.5 A g−1; as the current densities raised from 0.5 to 10 A g−1 (20 times increasing), there is still ~41% retention of its initial capacitance. These satisfactory electrochemical properties should be put down to the hollow and porous structure and the relative higher BET surface area, which supplies more reactive sites for charge and discharge processes.

• NiCo-LDH/Mn-ZIF is successfully bonded to carbon cloth (NCM-2/CC). • Mn-ZIF dramatically enhances the electrochemical property of NiCo-LDH/CC. • NCM-2/CC has super high specific capacity and rate performance. • NCM-2/CC//AC/NF supercapacitor exhibits a higher energy density. Electrode materials with large theoretical specific capacity and high utilization are essential for high-performance supercapacitors. In order to overcome the deficiencies of easy agglomeration and poor intrinsic conductivity, NiCo-LDH with high theoretical specific capacity was integrated with Mn-ZIF grown on carbon cloth (Mn-ZIF/CC) via a simple impregnation-hydrothermal method. The optimal NiCo-LDH/Mn-ZIF/CC (NCM-2/CC) electrode showed a specific capacity of 321.3 mA h g–1 (642.6 C g–1 or 2313.4 F g–1) at 1 A g–1, higher than NiCo-LDH/CC (146.5 mA h g–1) and Mn-ZIF/CC (27.8 mA h g–1). The assembled NCM-2/CC-containing hybrid supercapacitor (HSC) realized a power density of 71.5 W h kg–1 at 800 W kg–1, superior to most of the previously reported NiCo-LDH-based devices. The interfacial construction enhances the electrical conductivity and enlarges electrochemically active surface area (ECSA) of NiCo-LDH, leading to a promoted utilization of the electrode material and its subsequent supercapacitive properties. The facile synthesis route and impressive electrochemical performance endow the NCM-2/CC electrode with a promising application for high-performance supercapacitors.
