Silent killer is the nickname of hypertension because someone who has hypertension has even been for years often not aware until complications occur. Hypertension is one of the cormorbid in covid 19 cases so that anxiety is experienced by people with hypertension during the covid 19 pandemic. This study aims to identify the extent of anxiety experienced by people with hypertension. The study used descriptive methods with a crosssectional approach. The results of the study were obtained from 87 respondents in this study that the most respondents were in the age group of >61 years as many as 77 people (88.5%), Female sex as many as 52 people (59.8%) Most respondents worked as retirees as many as 63 people (72.4%) and had a moderate anxiety level of 35 people (40.2%).The conclusion is that there are still many people with hypertension who experience anxiety so that the role of nurses is needed in improving education related to the handling of hypertension in the pandemic covid19 era.

Background: Hospitalization is a completely new experience to infants and young children. Some parents know the illness about their child but some have not but most of them don’t know the treatment regimen on illness of child through which he/ she is going through. When the child is admitted in patient department he or she has go through. As they don’t know about the procedures through which their child undergone; that responsible for the increase in anxiety level of father and mother both. Various questions are there in their mind; about which kind of procedure is this, my child is bearing or not? How painful it is? Is my child crying? All these questions are arises. As they don’t know about the procedures so these questions are increasing the stress level and anxiety level of parents. Objective: To assess the level of anxiety of parents regarding invasive procedures among hospitalized children 2. To compare the level of anxiety of mother and father regarding invasive procedures among hospitalized children 3. To associate the level of anxiety of parents regarding invasive procedures with selected demographic variables. Methods and Materials: Descriptive survey method. Tool: Standardized and validated STAI anxiety tool. Research Approach: Descriptive approach. Sample Size: 100. Sampling technique: Non convenient sampling technique Sample: Parents of hospitalized child. Setting: Selected hospital. Results: In these study the level of anxiety were seen into 4 categories; no anxiety, mild, moderate and severe anxiety. No anxiety had been seen in parents having score range (0 - 25%), mild anxiety is assessed in 15 parents having anxiety score (26 – 50%) while in 80 parents an moderate anxiety is assessed having score range in between (51 – 75%) and severe anxiety was assessed in 5 parents of an hospitalized child who were undergoing selected invasive procedures and having anxiety score in between (76 – 100%) on Comparison of level of anxiety of mother and father regarding invasive procedures in hospitalized children shows that mother had more anxiety level than father. Conclusion: In the study, moderate anxiety is assessed in 80% of parents while shown an association in between anxiety level and knowledge of a parents as well as the age of hospitalized child.

Producing breastmilk is a mother’s ability for the next six weeks after giving birth. Based on data from the Health Office of Pontianak City, exclusive breastfeeding coverage is 25% in East Pontianak District. A preliminary study conducted in East Pontianak Sub district, seven out of ten respondents who underwent breastfeeding, their breastmilk was not running well. There are 70% of babies experienced weight increment below 500 grams/month. In addition, 70% mothers drinking less than twelve glasses/day, 70% mothers do not receive support from their husbands in breastfeeding process, 60% mothers have never been exposed to breastfeeding information, and 50% mothers experienced moderate anxiety levels after giving birth. The research aimed to determine the determinants of postpartum mother's milk production in East Pontianak District. This research is observational research with a cross-sectional approach, and the research subject is 48 postpartum mothers. The results showed that the determinant factor could be seen from the relationship of fluid intake (p-value = 0.000), husband's support (p-value=0.000), information exposure (p-value=0.010), supplement (p-value=0.000), and energy intake (p-value=0.000), to breast milk production. Recommendations addressed to the community health center such as work more active in providing counselling, activating cadres by providing practices. Objectives: To determine anxiety during the pandemic in the elderly of a disadvantaged population of San Juan de Lurigancho. Materials and methods: This study with the methodological approach of this study was of a descriptive-cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 84 elderly people who were cared for from a disadvantaged population. The technique used was the survey and the measurement instrument was the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), which is made up of 7 items and two dimensions, which are: cognitive-emotional and somatic-tension. Results: According to age, the minimum was 55 and the maximum 96, the mean age being 72.65. Regarding anxiety, moderate anxiety predominates with 39.3% (n = 33), followed by level anxiety in 32.1% (n = 27), without anxiety with 17.9% (n = 15) and severe anxiety in 10.7% (n = 9). In relation to the cognitive-emotional dimension, mild and moderate anxiety had a higher prevalence with 36.9% (n = 31), followed by no anxiety in 16.7% (n = 14) and severe anxiety with 9.5% (n = 8). Regarding the somatic-tension dimension, mild anxiety predominated in 35.7% (n = 30), followed by moderate anxiety with 33.3% (n = 28), without anxiety in 22.6% (n = 19) and severe anxiety with 8.3% (n = 7). Conclusions: Regarding anxiety, moderate anxiety predominated, followed by mild anxiety, without anxiety and severe anxiety. Regarding the dimensions, mild anxiety predominated, followed by moderate, without anxiety and severe.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between non-nutritive sweetener (NNS) consumption and stress and anxiety, among a sample of college students. Two-hundred and twenty-seven students from a large mid-western university participated in this cross-sectional study. Students completed an online survey that evaluated NNS using a validated food frequency questionnaire. Stress and anxiety were evaluated using previously validated instruments. Most students reported very low/low/average concern for stress (63.9%), and had low/moderate anxiety (82.3%). Meanwhile, the level of anxiety of pregnant women after being given education decreased, namely mild anxiety was higher than moderate anxiety and there was no anxiety. Purpose The primary aim of this pilot study was to examine the feasibility of codelivering a mental health intervention with an evidence-based type 2 diabetes (T2DM) boot camp care management program. The preliminary impact of participation on symptom scores for depression and anxiety and A1C was also examined. Methods This was a 12-week, non-randomized pilot intervention conducted with a convenience sample of adults with uncontrolled T2DM and moderate depression and/or anxiety at an urban teaching hospital. Co-management intervention delivery was via in-person and telehealth visits. Participants were assessed at baseline and 90 days. Results Participants (n = 18) were African American, majority female (83%), and age 50.7 ± 13.4 years. Significant improvements in mental health outcomes were demonstrated, as measured by a reduction in Patient Health Questionnaire − 9 scores of 2.4 ± 2.9 ( P = .01) and in Generalized Anxiety Disorder − 7 scores of 2.3 ± 1.9 ( P = .001). The pre-post intervention mean A1C improved by 3.4 ± 2.1 units from 12% ± 1.4% to 8.5% ± 1.7% ( P < .001). Conclusion The data generated in this pilot support the feasibility of delivering a diabetes and mental health co-management intervention using a combination of in-person and telemedicine visits to engage adults with T2DM and coexisting moderate depression and/or anxiety. Further research is warranted.

Despite high demand, mental health services in primary care in Ireland are underdeveloped. People with mild/moderate anxiety, depression and unspecified psychological distress are frequently seen in primary care settings, mostly by general practitioners (GPs). Occupational therapists have the potential to contribute to service-provision with interventions specially designed for the targeted group e.g. the Redesigning Daily Occupations programme (ReDO-10). This study aimed to explore the feasibility of a future RCT of the ReDO-10 programme in Ireland and the contextual factors that would influence future implementation. Using a multi-phase, mixed-method design, qualitative and quantitative data were gathered from key stakeholders: ReDO-10 participants (n¿=¿10), GPs (n¿=¿9) and occupational therapists (n¿=¿2). Acceptability, satisfaction, cultural fit and demand were explored, as well as methodological issues such as appropriateness of recruitment methods, outcome measures and randomization. ReDO-10 was acceptable to participants who reported improvements in their occupational patterns and valued the group-based format. GPs and occupational therapists welcomed the intervention, but acknowledged the limitations of time and resources in the Irish primary care context. ReDO-10 is feasible to explore in a future RCT in Ireland and this study provides important context for future implementation and/or research. Objective: This research was carried out to examine the relationship between care burden and anxiety levels of terminal period patient relatives. Material and Methods: This research, which is planned as descriptive-correlational type, was conducted between March and May 2020 in Van Training and Research Hospital. Results: According to the findings obtained from the study, the Beck Anxiety Inventory total score mean of the individuals was determined to be 16.40 ± 13.12. The total score mean of the Zarit Care Burden Scale was determined to be 50.23 ± 11.29. A positive statistically significant relationship was found between Beck Anxiety Inventory and Zarit Care Burden Scale total score means (p Conclusion: Individuals have been found to have moderate anxiety and “severe burden”. Palliative care nurses should support the psychological and basic aspects of individuals with nursing interventions necessary for caregivers to cope with anxiety and feel less care burdens. It is recommended to carry out culture-specific programs and long-term clinical studies to ensure that caregivers are able to cope with anxiety.

Objetivo: Comparar os ní­veis de ansiedade entre estudantes do primeiro e último ano do curso de graduação em enfermagem do Centro de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. Método: Estudo descritivo, exploratório, com abordagem quantitativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista pessoal e plataforma online, além do Inventário de Ansiedade Traço Estadual (IDATE). Resultados: A maioria dos alunos, tanto no iní­cio quanto no final da graduação, apresentou ansiedade, traço e estado predominantemente moderados. Conclusão: Nesta amostra não houve diferenças significativas no traço de ansiedade ou estado entre as variáveis estudadas.

Perubahan fisik dan psikis yang dialami ibu hamil terutama perubahan hormonal menimbulkan gejala mual dan muntah di awal kehamilan. Mual dan muntah yang berlebihan pada awal kehamilan dan berlangsung terus menerus selama kehamilan akan menyebabkan komplikasi fisik dan psikologis. Adanya masalah psikologis pada ibu hamil dapat menyebabkan mual dan muntah yang kemudian memburuk. Masalah emosional juga berkaitan dengan kejadian mual dan muntah yang semakin parah. Metode: Penulis melakukan pencarian ekstensif oleh jurnal ilmiah melalui database terpercaya dan sering digunakan, yaitu PubMed, Springer, dan Science Direct. Kata kunci yang digunakan adalah "hiperemesis" DAN "psikologis" dengan filter publikasi jurnal, 4 tahun terakhir, uji klinis acak, tinjauan sistematis, meta-analisis, subjek penelitian manusia. Kesimpulan: asuhan yang menitikberatkan pada ibu dengan menerapkan prinsip holistic care , dimana pasien tidak hanya mendapatkan asuhan kebidanan secara fisik dan biologis tetapi meliputi psikologis, sosial, spiritual dan budaya dengan melibatkan suami dalam asuhan kebidanan terbukti dapat mempercepat pemulihan fisik dan psikologis penderita hiperemesis. Pre-surgery is an action before surgery, which can trigger psychological problems, such as anxiety. Spiritual strength is able to help the individual towards the healing and fulfillment of life goals. The aim of the reseach was discover the correlation between the spiritual level and anxiety in preoperative patients in the surgical inpatient units of RSUD Banyumas. This study was conducted from 12 November to 12 December 2019 in the surgical inpatient units of RSUD Banyumas. This research was a non-experimental quantitative, using a correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was selected by purposive sampling technique, with 72 sample respondents. The data collection technique used the HARS (Hamilton Rating Scale Anxiety) and DSES (Daily Spiritual Experience Scale questionnaires) questionnaires. The result found 27.8% of patients' preoperative anxiety level at RSUD Banyumas did not experience anxiety, 56.9% felt mild anxiety, and 15.3% suffered from moderate anxiety. Meanwhile, for the spiritual level, only 1.4% of the preoperative patients at RSUD Banyumas had a low spiritual level, 52.8% were at a moderate spiritual level, and 45.8% presented a high spiritual level. The Spearman Rank statistical test obtained p-value = 0.0001; the correlation coefficient was -0.469. There was a correlation between the patients' spiritual level and preoperative anxiety in the surgical inpatient units of RSUD Banyumas.

Anxiety and stress that occur in pregnant women greatly affect the quality of sleeping pregnant women and can pse a risk to the mother and fetus. In Kabupaten Ciamis in 2017 the number of pregnant women as many as 18,881 people. The number of pregnant women in Handapherang Puskesmas working are in february 2018 as many as 237 people. While the number of thirdtrimester pregnant women as many as 91 people. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety with sleep quality of third trimester pregnant women in the work area of Handapherang Puskesmas.The research method uses quantitative method of correlational analytic design using simple random sampling technique, with the number of samples counted 48 people from the population number 91 people. The results showed that most of pregnant women’s anxiety was on the level of mild anxiety that is as much as 22 respondents (45,8%). Level of moderate anxiety asmuch as 11 respondents (23%). Severe anxiety as many as 9 respondents (18,7%). While those who did not experience anxiety only 6 respondents (12,5%). Result of research of sleep quality of pregnant mother of trimester III got result only 6 pregnant mother (12%) which sleep quality good while bad sleep quality as much as 42 pregnant mother (88%). Statistical test using spearman rank test with corellation value 0,542 included in strong category and ? value 0,000.Conclusions there is a relationship between the Relationship of Anxiety Level with Sleep Quality of Trimester Pregnant Woman in Working Area of Handapherang Puskesmas with ? value 0,000 smaller than ?= 0,05.

Anxiety is a physiological response to the experience that is painful, because both have connection, thedifficulty experienced and the anxiety to overcome it. The study aimed to analyze the characteristics ofpre - competitive anxiety factors in the games of the national team of Mozambique U16. The sampleconsisted of 12 athletes, aged 14 - 16 years of which 4 aged 16 and 8 aged 14 years. The instrumentused was the “List of Stress and Pre-Competitive Symptoms (LSSPC) developed by Chagas (1995).The results showed moderate levels of precompetitive anxiety in the six games played with an averagesum of 56.92; In the six games played, the basketball players presented, respectively, the valorizationof the somatic anxiety with the following values: 59.16; 53.34; 59; 61.5; 56.17 and 55.4. The athletesvalued somatic anxiety relatively in the six games with the following values: 3.71; 3.09; 3.82; 4.12;3.58 and 3.69. Basketball players participating in the 2017 African Under-16 Basketball Championshipwere dominated by moderate anxiety with predominance of somatic factor.

Objective This study was to determine the effect of prenatal yoga on the anxiety level of third trimesters pregnant women in the Singgani Health Center before and after being given yoga pregnancy. Method The method in this study is a type of pre-experimental research that uses the one group pre-test – post-test approach. The samples in this study were 48 subjects using a purposive sampling technique. Prenatal yoga was given to third trimesters pregnancy gestational weeks 30–37 age; the level of anxiety of pregnant women was measured by Interviews using questionnaires. Analysis in the study used the Wilcoxon test. Results Before the intervention of yoga, pregnancy has severe anxiety that is equal to 58.3%, mothers who are not anxious 2.1%, mild anxiety levels 2.1%, mothers who have moderate anxiety levels of 37.5%. After pregnancy yoga, most mothers had a mild anxiety level of 54.1%, mothers who did not have the anxiety of 16.7%, and mothers who had moderate and severe anxiety levels of 14.6% each. Wilcoxon test showed significant statistics. Conclusion This study indicated that prenatal yoga could influence the anxiety level of pregnant women.

Kejadian pandemi COVID-19, sangat penting untuk diketahui, karena mempunyai dampak psikologis dari kejadian pandemi virus corona pada petugas kesehatan. Kejadian epidemi COVID-19 menyebabkan tingkat stres yang tinggi dari petugas kesehatan dan peningkatan kesakitan juga pada masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kecemasan bidan, peran bidan dalam pelayanan kebidanan, dan pemberian informasi tentang virus corona (COVID-19) pada ibu dan anak di wilayah Madura. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif, populasi dari penelitian ini adalah bidan di Wilayah Madura dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 123 bidan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan sistem Google Form yang disebarkan ke semua bidan di Wilayah Madura. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis univariat untuk mengetahui distribusi frekuensi kecemasan, peran dan pemberian informasi oleh bidan tentang COVID-19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bidan yang mengalami kecemasan sangat berat (16,3%), kece-masan berat sebesar 17,9% dan yang mengalami kecemasan sedang (22.8%). Bidan juga masih memberikan pelayanan kebidanan dengan baik sebesar 87% dan pemberian informasi tentang pencegahan penularan virus corona dengan baik sebesar 77,2%. Pandemi ini sangat memberikan dampak dalam pemberian pelayanan kebidanan terutama program yang sudah terlaksana dengan rutin, sehingga program tersebut tidak bisa terlaksana dan bidan juga mengalami kecemasan karena mereka adalah ujung tombak dalam pelayanan kebidanan. Diharapkan adanya kerjasama yang baik antara pasien dan bidan terutama pasien agar tetap mengikuti prinsip dalam pencegahan penularan virus corona dan memberikan informasi yang baik dan benar kepada pasien terutama apabila datang dari luar kota.

Background.Chronic renal failure patients who undergone hemodialysis treatment tend to experience anxiety. Reminiscence therapy by utilize patient’s very own past memorable and fun event can reduce the anxiety levels. This study aims to determine the effect of reminiscence therapy to decrease the level of anxiety. Method. This research utilized pre Experimental One Group Pre-Post Test Design method, conducted on 18 February throughout 20 March 2018.There were 16 respondents of population, 15 respondents were applied as sample by purposive sampling technique. Reminiscence therapy was utilized as independent variable, anxiety levels was used as dependent variable. Wilcoxon sign rank test with α = 0,05, was applied in statistical data analysis, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was applied as instrument in assessment. Results. From 16 respondents mostly as much as 8 respondents (53,3%) before the reminiscence therapy was administered showed that had moderate anxiety levels, after reminiscence therapy was administered there was decliene in anxiety levels who resolved to mild anxiety levels which is 14 respondents (93%).The statistical test by utilize wilcoxon sign rank test showed ρ value = 0,007, ρ value ≤ α = 0,05, so Ha was accepted, it means there was influence of reminiscence therapy to decrease the anxiety levels of hemodialysis patients at Hemodialysis Wards of RSUD Nganjuk. Conclusion. Reminiscence therapy showed efficacy inlowered anxiety. Reminiscence therapy motivated respondents by influence positive coping through willingness and openness to remember and retell the memorable and fun of the past events. So the anxiety experienced by hemodialysis patients would be decreased. Reminiscence therapy could be performed by a nurse, it corresponds with the framework of nursing which is roles of nurses as a counselor. Aim: This study is a research made to determine the risks and the dangers that a state university is exposed to during the practice of students in the 3rd and 4th classes of Nursing Department of Health Sciences Faculty and to determine the effect of the dangers on their anxiety levels. Materials and methods: The universe of the cross-sectional and descriptive type study was composed of the students (n=210 people) who were educated in the 3rd and 4th classes of the Nursing Department, of Health Sciences Faculty of Gumushane University in Semptember and October in 2017. During the study period, 197 students were reached actively attending the classes without absenteeism. The datas of the survey were collected with the questions including sociodemographic characteristics and application-working conditions and with the questionnaire consisting the Beck Anxiety Scale and Health Workers’ Safety Scale questions and with the method of face to face conversation. Results: 65.5% of the health professionals of the future participating the survey is female and their avarage age is 21.59±1.40. While the Health Workers’ Safety Scale avarage score of the male students is higher, the Beck Anxiety Scale avarage score of the female students is found higher. Conclusions and suggestions: In this study, it was determined that students were provided with occupational safety but experienced moderate anxiety.

Introduction: The percentage proportion of older people in Indonesia is increasing, indicating that Indonesia is a country with a population structure leaning towards the elderly. If one does not die before that, every human being will surely experience an aging process that can cause various problems such as health problems. Anxiety is one of the serious health problems in the elderly. Physical exercise, such as yoga, can help reduce anxiety level. Aim: To analyze correlation between yoga exercise and level of anxiety in the elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya. Method: This research used a pre-experimental study with pre-posttest one group design, held on the 26th of July 2019 until the 16th of September 2019. The samples in this study were 22 people, all of whom were elderlies who routinely visited and have participated in 16x yoga exercise for two months. The research instrument this study used was HARS. Kendall’s Tau B was used for the data analysis. Results: data analysis shows that there was a correlation between routine yoga exercise and the level of anxiety in the elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya p=0,030. Pretest results showed that there were 14 elderly with mild anxiety and eight elderly with moderate anxiety. post-test data showed five elderly with mild anxiety levels and 17 people who did not have anxiety. Conclusion: There was a correlation between the routine of yoga exercise and the level of anxiety in the elderly in Posyandu Lansia Yuswo Widodo Surabaya.

Anxiety disorders can be interpreted as a heightened tension that results in feelings of helplessness, loss of control and excessive subjective judgment of the interpersonal communication process. Anxiety disorders an ongoing basis often haunt the health of those who have reached a late age (the elderly). However, the elderly in the Tresna Werdha Foundation area, Blahkiuh village, Abiansemal, Badung Regency, Bali Province did not. They are known to love singing the Wargasari. They do not appear to have anxiety disorders about health as the elderly in general. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of Wargasari as therapy in dealing with anxiety disorders among the elderly in the Tresna Werdha Foundation area, Blahkiuh village, Abiansemal, Badung Regency, Bali Province. This type of research is quantitative with a pretest-posttest one-group pre-experimental design. A sample of 67 elderly, who experienced anxiety and selected in total sampling, data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the average anxiety before giving Wargasari therapy was 36.90 (severe anxiety), and after being given Wargasari therapy, the average was 23.00 (moderate anxiety). This study aims to apply Relaxation Techniques to reduce the level of anxiety of high school students when they face the Computer-Based National Examination (UNBK). Participants in this study were students of class XII who received the highest score on the anxiety scale, meaning students with high and moderate anxiety levels. The instrument used was the DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale) anxiety scale consisting of 42 statement items. The results of the preliminary study showed 60% of students experienced high levels of anxiety, and 30% were moderate and 10% experienced low levels of anxiety. Treatment performed on students is by using Progressive Relaxation Techniques for 6 sessions. Every 2x session an evaluation of the level of anxiety is completed. Students who are categorized as experiencing severe levels of anxiety and are being treated using this progressive relaxation method, they are given the task to do also relaxation at home every day before going to sleep and wake up. The results of the study after 6 progressive relaxation sessions, it was found that the level of anxiety of the students was reduced ie students who experienced severe anxiety levels were reduced to as much as 20%, who experienced moderate levels of anxiety to be completely gone. COVID-19 has largely negative impact on the economy, wellbeing and education of the country. In the same way, Pakistan has been prominently affected by the COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health and academic performance of the students. The quantitative research design with the help of online cross sectional survey questionnaire the data from 592 students was collected. The study found that 200 students were suffering from mild anxiety, 140 from moderate anxiety and 72 from severe anxiety. The study further found that COVID has affected most of the students in Pakistan. The lockdown has effected the concentration on education of loads of students. The study showed that the online learning had negative impacts on most of the student’s learning.

Aim: To assess the association between Individual deprivation measure with dental anxiety and socioeconomic status among patients visiting dentists in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 50 patients aged 18-70 years who visited a private dental institution. Data on socio-demographics and detailed history about dental visits were obtained. Dental anxiety was measured using Corah Dental Anxiety Scale along with Individual deprivation measure questionnaire. Data were analysed using SPSS package 20. Descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA were used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 50 patients were enrolled in the study, 38% belonged to 31-40 years of age, 56% were male, 16% postponed dental visit due to dental anxiety, 54% belonged to upper middle class and 64% of the subjects had moderate anxiety. In all, 71.9% of the subjects with moderate anxiety were not deprived and 88.9% of upper middle class subjects were not deprived. Significant association was found between socioeconomic status and dental anxiety with Individual deprivation measure with a P < 0.05. Increasing socioeconomic status was associated with more deprivation and dental anxiety was higher among less deprived patients. Conclusion: Individual deprivation measure was associated with dental anxiety. Less deprived and higher socioeconomic class population had a significant higher dental anxiety.

Background: The puerperium begins when the baby and placenta are born until the uterus returns to its pre-pregnancy state, and generally lasts for 6 weeks. There are several adaptations that must be passed by postpartum period including physiological, psychological and social. Anxiety is part of the psychological disorders of postpartum mothers, if anxiety is not handled it can cause postpartum blues and its impact causes a decrease in children's cognitive abilities compared to their peers. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of anxiety in post partum mothers at HJ Faridatul Ampera S.Tr. Keb Independece Midwifery Practice Malang Regency. Methods: The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 38 postpartum mothers with purposive sampling method. The instrument used was a questionnaire, with postpartum mother's anxiety variable. Results: All post partum (100%) experienced anxiety with a mild level of anxiety of 50.00%, experiencing moderate anxiety of 36.84% and experiencing severe anxiety of 13.16%. Conclusion: Post partum maternal anxiety can occur due to various factors, therefore comprehensive support and care are needed in dealing with the post partum mother adaptation period.

The effect of social lockdown during the COVID-19 outbreak on female aggressiveness is not well known. The strict measures of lockdown have resulted in millions of people, worldwide, confined to their homes during the pandemic. However, the consequence of lockdown strategies on females' psychological status including aggressiveness has not yet been investigated. We conducted a cross-sectional study on 31 Russian females' homemakers who are participants in an online fitness platform to investigate the immediate anxiety, depression, and aggression experienced under strict lockdown measures. The participants were surveyed using the hospital anxiety depression scale (HADS) and the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire. We used descriptive and statistical methods to investigate the prevalence of these emotions among two age groups (20–35 and 36–65 years). We found that moderate anxiety prevalence was 77.4% in the entire group while mild depression was 54.8%. Interestingly, the whole sample showed a high level of angriness (p = 0.0002) and physical aggression (p = 0.019). These two emotions seem to be more prevalent than other negative emotions such as hostility, verbal aggression. This relationship was not dependent on age. Overall, there is a significant worsening in female aggression that could lead to higher chances of female victimization and being subjected to partner violence. Future policies designing lockdown strategies should consider this effect on active female homemakers. Due to the small size of our cohort, our results are only indicative of data trends. Larger studies are still needed to confirm the current findings.

Purpose: Thermal imaging is a technology that is able to capture images quickly and provide results with high resolution so that it is able to provide accurate results about the temperature picture. The purpose of this study was to examine if there were differences in anxiety conditions at facial temperatures measured using thermal imaging.Methodology:Eighty-one participants were taking the pre-clinical exams was chosen as the inclusion criteria and were divided into four categories of anxiety range (not anxious, mild anxiety, moderate anxiety, and severe anxiety) based on their score measured that using the General Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) as the instrument. The participants were measured their face temperature using thermal imaging on the upper forehead (frontal) and left-right forehead (temporal). Data was analyzed to show the characteristic of anxiety level on the frontal and temporal temperature. There were difference anxiety conditions (no anxious, mildly anxious, moderate anxious and severe anxious) to thermal imaging face temperatures in the frontal and temporal.Main findings: The results showed that more increased the temporal and frontal of face temperature, more severe the anxiety. Hospitalization in pediatric patients will cause children to feel anxious and stressed in various conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of family support to anxious responses in school-age children (6-12 years) when an IV was placed in the emergency room at Rafflesia Bengkulu Hospital. This research is a descriptive analytic study with cross sectional approach. A sample of 78 children were placed on an IV line, samples were taken using accidental sampling technique. Data were obtained using a family support questionnaire and anxiety observation sheets. Bivariate analysis uses the Chi Square formula. Univariate analysis results found 57.7% of family support is good while 42.3% of family support is not good, while the level of anxiety of children is 17.9% not worried, 43.6% mild anxiety and 38.5% moderate anxiety. Bivariate analysis found ρ value 0,000, which means there is a relationship between family support and the level of anxiety of children. Conclusion, there is a significant relationship between family support and the level of anxiety of school-age children (6-12 years) when infusion is placed. Objectives This study investigated patients' insights into whether virtual reality (VR) technology plays a beneficial role in reducing anxiety levels while undergoing dental extractions.Design Explorative study.Setting Oral Surgery Department of Birmingham Dental Hospital in July 2017.Material and methods Fifty patients were screened for extractions. All participants had previous experience of extractions without VR. Pre-treatment anxiety levels were recorded using the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS). During the procedure, each patient wore a Virtoba VR headset, whereby they were involved in an underwater VR experience. A post-treatment questionnaire recorded patient demographics and VR experiences in relation to anxiety levels.Results Participant response on the benefit of the VR system on anxiety reduction during treatment was: 35% (extremely beneficial), 30% (quite beneficial), 25% (of some benefit) and 10% (of little benefit). Responses showed that 87.5% wanted VR to be used again during their next visit. The most benefit was found to be in the following patient groups: males; young adults (aged 18-35); patients with moderate anxiety (MDAS 11-18), and those who underwent surgical extractions.Conclusion The majority of patients (65%) found VR to be extremely or quite beneficial in reducing their anxiety levels. Perhaps after future large scale studies, more dental clinicians could consider VR technology in their practice for anxiety reduction, particularly when treating the patient groups identified in the study who took a greater liking towards VR.

Esta investigación buscó determinar la coherencia entre la autopercepción del estado de ánimo y la presencia objetiva de sintomatología característica de ansiedad y depresión en estudiantes universitarios, abordándose desde la perspectiva de la inteligencia emocional y la salud mental. Se desarrolló una investigación cuantitativa con diseño descriptivo y análisis comparativo-correlacional. Con la participación de 335 estudiantes entre 18 e 30 años, ‘sanos’. Se emplearon los inventarios de ansiedad y depresión de Beck y un cuestionario estándar de autopercepción. Entre otros datos se halló que, el 100 % presentaba sintomatología objetiva de ansiedad. El 35 % de la muestra se autopercibió con ansiedad moderada y de estos sólo el 14,2 % cumplía realmente criterios de ese nivel de ansiedad. Asimismo, 20 % de los universitarios manifestó no identificar síntomas característicos de depresión en sí mismos, sin embargo, de ese porcentaje, el 31,3 % sí cumplía criterios para depresión, al igual que el 70 % del total de participantes. Pese a esto, de forma general se encontró que los participantes se autopercibieron con mayores estados de ansiedad y depresión de los que realmente presentaban (variando esto por género y edad); un porcentaje menor, aunque significativo, presentó estados de ánimo patológicos mayores a los autopercibidos.

Mothers' of leukemic children facing many stressors which represents challenging to them to maintain balance between care for their leukemic children and maintain their wellbeing so this study investigate the effects of maternal capacity building intervention on their competence, perceived wellbeing and their leukemic children health. A Quasi experimental research design was used to conduct the current study, a purposive sample of 54 mothers with their leukemic children admitted during September - December 2018 at Oncology center, pediatric department, Mansoura University, Egypt whom fulfills the criteria of selection. Data were collected pre and post the capacity building intervention. The results indicated that post capacity building intervention mothers ' knowledge regarding leukemia and care practice of leukemic children was improved significantly. Post capacity building intervention also the majority of mothers were comply with; children care (88.9%), recommended diet compliance (72.2%), and all of them comply with follow up schedule also about two thirds of them post the intervention had good sleep quality (77.8%), good appetite ( 72.2%) and moderate anxiety level (63%).Regarding studied subjects sense of competence it was improved significantly post the intervention where more than two third of them perceived that they has high level of competence compared with none of them pre the intervention. Conclusion: Capacity building intervention improved subjects' knowledge, subjects’ care practice which raises their perceived self-competence, wellbeing level and improve their leukemic children health. Recommendation: Mothers’ need special preparation to; satisfy leukemic children need, maintain children health, raise mothers’ wellbeing to be able to go through their life and satisfy other family member's needs.

Context: Anxious patients are difficult to manage and tend to avoid dental treatment. Aim: The aim of this study is to explore dental anxiety (DA) among patients visiting Riyadh Elm University (REU) clinics. Materials and Methods: Dental patients were first oriented about the purpose of the study and then signed consent before filling a ten-item quantitative DA questionnaire that included demographic variables of age, gender, and educational level. Responses were scored on a scale of 1–4 for each question, and an overall questionnaire score of 40 was obtained. Low anxiety was considered with at or below 15, moderate anxiety between 16 and 27, and high anxiety at or above 28. Statistical analysis was performed with frequencies and cross-tabulation by Chi-square and Student's t-test. Results: Of 365 respondents, the majority (50.1%, n = 183) showed moderate anxiety followed by 104 participants (28.5%) showing high anxiety while only 78 participants (21.4%) exhibited low DA. Among the high DA group, 81% were female (n = 84) while 19% were male (n = 20) and this difference was statistically significant. High DA was recorded in patients aged 13–18 (25%) and 19–25 years (27%) compared to other age groups; however, the difference was statistically insignificant. Furthermore, schoolchildren demonstrated high DA (53%) compared to other educational levels, yet the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: A considerable number of patients attending REU dental clinics exhibited DA that was more intense among female patients, younger age groups, and the less educated individuals.

Introduction: Anxiety management is one of the most important health issues which is being faced by humans today. Biofeedback, as a method of neurophysiology, has been added to the methods recommended for this purpose. Aim: The aim of the study was to measure the effectiveness of biofeedback method by using Brain Boy Universal Professional in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Methods: The sample of this research study consisted of 50 individuals, suffering from symptoms of anxiety, who underwent biofeedback therapy. For the purposes of this study, the self-administered questionnaire Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety was completed by the individuals both before the initiation of the therapy and after individuals had completed ten sessions of treatment with biofeedback. Results: Prior to biofeedback, 26% of the participants showed mild to moderate anxiety, 12% a medium severity of anxiety and the remaining 62% severe anxiety. After the completion of 10 sessions of biofeedback, 78% of the participants was found to experience mild to moderate anxiety, 12% a medium severity of anxiety and only 10% of severe anxiety. Conclusion: Biofeedback can be a therapeutic method for the treatment of anxiety disorders, giving treatment to patients who do not respond to drugs but also to patients who want to apply to undergo such treatment alongside other therapeutic methods including drugs.

Todetermine the level of anxiety between couples. To find out the association between level of knowledge withselected demographic variable.Methods: The present study is a cross sectional non experimental descriptive survey. The total samplesfor this study are 380 primi couples. A self-structured questionnaire was prepared to assess the level ofknowledge of primiparus couples and standardize anxiety tool to assess anxiety between parents. Data wascollected by interviewing the study samples. Pilot study was conducted with 30 samples from differentsettings to check the reliability & feasibility of the study.Results: The finding of this study is (29%) of couple has good knowledge and (37%) couple has poorknowledge regarding preparedness of parenthood. Mean and SD of knowledge score of father and mother is17.06±3.60 and 18.36±3.99 respectively. More than half i.e. 41.31% couple has mild to moderate anxiety andonly 42.89% couple has minimum anxiety. There is no significant association between level of knowledgeand age, occupation, level of education and monthly income of couple as it is less than P value 0.05.

Antecedentes: Las personas que sienten miedo y ansiedad muestran peores condiciones de salud bucal, postergando las citas odontológicas hasta tal punto de evitarlas. Objetivo: Determinar los factores asociados al miedo y la ansiedad en pacientes atendidos en las clínicas de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo tipo descriptivo transversal con 198 pacientes atendidos en las clínicas de la facultad de Odontología. Se aplicaron las encuestas: Dental Fear Survey (DFS), Escala de Ansiedad Dental de Corah Modificada (MDAS) y una tercera encuesta para identificar: características sociodemográficas y elementos, situaciones y sensaciones asociados a miedo a la ansiedad durante la consulta. Background COVID19 public health crisis has led to extensive anxiety regarding spread of virus. Aim of study is to assess COVID19-related anxiety in Egypt and correlate it to knowledge and stigma. Results Online questionnaire, 17–20 April 2020, had 218 Egyptian respondents to a socio-demographic questionnaire and Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7). The present study revealed that 21.2% of the respondents were experiencing severe anxiety, 34.8% moderately severe anxiety, 25.2% moderate anxiety, and 18.8% mild anxiety. Women have more rates of severe anxiety. People who get online knowledge about COVID19 have least rates of severe anxiety. 51.8% think having the virus is stigmatizing. Knowledge and stigma are insignificantly inversely correlated to anxiety scores Conclusion Online scientific health education is necessary to reduce anxiety.

Objetivo:se propone identificar la existencia de ansiedad en odontólogos causada por la COVID-19 en Ecuador, dentro de un período comprendido desde el 20 de mayo al 15 de junio del 2020. Métodos:se realizaron encuestas online basadas enla versión validada en español de Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS),Escala de Ansiedad de Hamilton, compuesta por 14 ítems y dirigida a odontólogos ecuatorianos. La participación en este estudio fue de carácter anónimo y voluntario, con el fin de salvaguardar la identidad de los encuestados. Los criterios de clasificación fueron: asintomático: 0 a 7; ansiedad mínima de 8 a 13; ansiedad moderada de 14 a 21; ansiedad obvia de 22 a 29; ansiedad severa mayor de 29. Resultados:se recibió un total de 254 encuestas correctamente diligenciadas,de las cuales participaron 188 mujeres (74%) y 66 hombres (26%); la edad máxima fue 66 y la edad mínima 22 años, con una edad promedio de 34. Del total de participantes se encontraban ejerciendo la práctica privada 189 (74,4%) y pública 65 (25,6%); también, se evidenció que 92 (36%) personas si recibieron ayuda psicológica y 162 (64%) no recibieron. El valor más elevado fueel de ansiedad moderada con un total de 77 odontólogos (30%), seguido por ansiedad mínima con 64 (25%); asintomáticos, 51 (20%); ansiedad obvia, 48 (19%) y ansiedad severa, 14 (6%).Conclusiones:los odontólogos han presentado, con mayor frecuencia, estados de ansiedadmoderada como consecuencia de la COVID-19.

Aim: The aim of the study was to determine the acceptability and feasibility of an intervention to support women with mild to moderate anxiety in pregnancy.Design: The intervention development and feasibility testing followed the MRC guidelines for complex interventions. A feasibility study was conducted between April - May 2016.Methods: Qualitative and quantitative data were collected to assess the acceptability and feasibility of the intervention. The intervention was delivered in three components: pre-group individual meeting with the midwife; group sessions; guided self-help resources. The intervention was facilitated by midwives and co-facilitated by midwifery support workersResults: Eight women with self-reported symptoms of mild to moderate anxiety participated in the study. Women reported an improvement in anxiety symptoms and felt they had benefitted from participation. Accessing social support from other women in similar circumstances had helped women to feel less isolated and facilitated open and honest discussions. Women valued the involvement of the midwife facilitator to support their wellbeing and provide specific advice about their pregnancies.Conclusions: The intervention design appeared to be acceptable and beneficial for this group of women. This study highlights the potential for midwives to facilitate supportive interventions to enhance the current provision of emotional support for women with anxiety symptoms in pregnancy and address the current gap in services. The intervention is potentially feasible for introduction into current clinical practice with minimal additional resources.

Aims To compare the prevalence of psychological symptoms (depression, anxiety, and stress) in women with urinary incontinence (UI), according to the presence or absence of myofascial dysfunction (MD) in the pelvic floor muscles (PFMs). Methods Cross-sectional study, with women with UI who are 18 years old and over. The diagnosis of MD was defined by the pain of any intensity during the palpation of PFM. All participants answered the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form and the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder for urinary symptoms and the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale-Short Form-21 to check for the presence and degrees of depression, anxiety, and stress. Results Two hundred-thirty-four women with a mean age of 52.5 (±9.2) years were included. Almost half (51.7%) of women had MD. Women with MD showed higher mild and moderate anxiety scores (p = .005) and higher mild, moderate, and severe stress scores (p = .027) than women without MD. Depression scores were not associated with MD; however, women with and without MD reported severe or extremely severe depression, anxiety, and stress. Conclusions The risk for depression, anxiety, and stress is high among women with UI regardless of the presence of MD. However, women with MD had higher scores for anxiety and stress than women with UI without MD.

The purpose of this study is to understand the potential types of anxiety among middle school students by analyzing the current situation of middle school students&rsquo, anxiety and its influencing factor. This study used a multistage stratified cluster random sampling to investigate students in grades 9 to 12. Mplus 7.4 was used for latent profile analysis. A total of 900 junior high school students were investigated. The junior high school students were divided into three subgroups by latent profile analysis. A total of 223 junior high school students experienced severe anxiety, accounting for 24.78%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that males are more likely to develop moderate and severe anxiety. The development of severe anxiety (OR = 0.562, p &lt, 0.05) is less likely for students in schools with adequate mental health support. Students who were confident with their academic performances were less likely to develop moderate anxiety (OR = 0.377, p &lt, 0.05). Students with extreme academic pressure are more likely to develop moderate anxiety (OR = 6.523, p &lt, 0.05) and severe anxiety (OR = 11.579, p &lt, 0.05). It is recommended that mental health counseling be set up in schools and to provide professional counselors to prevent serious anxiety for students. This paper also demonstrates a need to reduce students&rsquo, academic pressure.

Assessment of the level of depression, anxiety and stress among hypertensive patients attending MedicineOPD, in selected Tertiary Care Hospital, Kanchipuram District, Tamil Nadu, India. The objectives were toassess the level of depression, anxiety and stress among hypertension patients and to associate the selecteddemographic variables with the level of depression, anxiety and stress of hypertension patients. 80 patientswere selected using by purposive sampling technique. We have used DASS-21 standardized tool for ourresearch study. The study findings showed that majority of the patients 64(80%) were normal, 13(16%) weremildly depressed and only 3(4%) were moderately depressed, On the aspects of anxiety majority 58(73%)were normal, 13(16%) were having mild anxiety and only 9(11%) were having moderate anxiety and onthe level of stress majority 75(94%) were normal and 5(6%) were mildly stressed. Over all mean of levelof depression of hypertensive patients were found to be (6.67), for the level of anxiety the mean was foundto be (5.7) and (8.9) for the level of stress aspects of the of the hypertensive patients. Standard deviationaspects of the hypertensive patients for the level of depression (3.79), for the level of anxiety (3.08) and forthe level of stress were found to be (3.77). There was significant association between the level of depressionand type of diet (?2 = 22.84) and the level of stress and age (?2= 33.44) of the hypertensive patients. Thestudy concludes that most of the hypertensive patients were normal in the level of depression, anxietyand stress. Nurses when we confront patients with hypertension, if they have symptoms of depression,stress and anxiety, we have to refer them for psychiatric consultation and provide health education on stressmanagement strategies.

Elderly is a phase of reduced physical ability and the emergence of various diseases that affect psychological conditions, one of which is anxiety. The same thing is experienced by Further age who have low social support. Lack of attention and affection can increase anxiety. One therapy that can be used is the Emotional freedom technique (EFT). This study uses an experimental approach with the pretest-posttest control group design technique. The random sampling method is used to select 20 subjects based on several criteria. Based on the results of identification conducted by researchers found that 20 participants experienced high and moderate anxiety where 10 participants had moderate to high social support, while 10 participants had low social support. Subjects were divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The results showed that there was a very significant correlation between EF and Anxiety which meant that the higher the EF value, the anxiety would decrease. The results of the second hypothesis are concluded that there is no difference in anxiety both those who have high or low social support. Social support is also influenced by each individual's perception.

Objetivo:Avaliar a relação da ansiedade e estresse com as características sociodemográficas e clínicas de pacientes que aguardam o cateterismo cardíaco (CATE). Método:Estudo transversal, com pacientes que aguardavam o CATE. A ansiedade e o estresse foram avaliados pelo Inventário de Ansiedade-Estado e Escala de Estresse Percebido. Foram utilizados oteste exato de Fisher e o t-Student ou Mann-Whitney, considerando nível de significância de 5%. Resultados:A maioria era homens, idade média de 60±9 anos. Apresentavam ansiedade baixa ou moderada,escore médio de 42±9,17 pontos e estresse baixo, escore médio de 19,1±6,4 pontos.A ansiedade se relacionou com a idade (p=0,033), o estresse autorreferido (p=0,046) e ex-tabagistas (p=0,013). Já o estresse se relacionou com a idade (p=0,019) e tabagistas (p=0,001). Discussão:O aumento da ansiedade e estresse podem ser influenciados pelas responsabilidades cívicas e sociais, hormônios estimulados pelo estresse e conflitos emocionais relacionados à nicotina. Conclusão:Os mais ansiosos eram mais jovens, ex-tabagistas e se autorreferiram como estressados. E os mais estressados eram mais jovens e tabagistas.

The aim of the study was to estimate the permanent teeth enamel resistance of 7, 12 and 15-year-old children with different emotional state. Among children with caries-resistant and caries-susceptible enamel the low level of situational anxiety was registered in 49.34±2.13% and 31.52±2.45% of cases, correspondently (p0.05), while the number of children with high situational anxiety was almost five times more in the group of caries-susceptible enamel than in children with caries-resistant and conditionally resistant enamel (p0.001). Moderate anxiety level was revealed in 49.32±1.45% of children with caries resistant enamel which is significantly less than in the group of children with caries-susceptible enamel (p0.05). Low level of personal anxiety in children with caries-susceptible enamel was three times less comparing with caries-resistant children (p0.05). The study revealed correlation of anxiety level and caries resistance in children which underlines the need for further studies on anxiety impact on dental caries development and prevention programs choice.Изучена резистентность эмали постоянных зубов детей 7, 12 и 15 лет с разным психоэмoциональным состоянием. Cреди детей с кариесрезистентной эмалью низкий уровень ситуативной тревожности выявлен в 49,34±2,13% случаев, а среди детей с кариесвосприимчивой эмалью - в 31,52±2,45% (р0,05). Количество детей с высоким уровнем ситуативной тревожности и кариесвосприимчивой эмалью в пять раз больше по сравнению с детьми с кариесрезистентной и условно резистентной эмалью (р0,001). Средний уровень личностной тревожности выявлен у 49,32±1,45% детей с кариесрезистентной эмалью, что значительно меньше по сравнению с детьми с кариесвосприимчивой эмалью (р0,05). У детей с кариесрезистентной эмалью уровень тревожности ниже по сравнению с детьми, эмаль которых восприимчива к кариесу, что может стать перспективным направлением в изучении влияния тревожности на формирование резистентности эмали и выбора методов профилактики.

Colles fracture is 15% of the whole fracture incidents in adults, and joint stiffness is the most common complication. Anxiety is one of a variety of factors strongly associated with an increased risk of disability and pain intensity in patients with musculoskeletal disorders. This study aims to identify the relationship between anxiety and the level of joint stiffness in Colles fracture patients. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design . Data collection was carried out in the physiotherapy of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital from March to October 2018 by interview using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test . The result of the study with 13 respondents showed 9 people (69.2%) did not experience anxiety, one person (7.7%) experienced mild anxiety, one person (7.7%) was in moderate anxiety, and two others were in severe anxiety (15.4%). Meanwhile, in terms of the level of joint stiffness, three people (23.1%) were in mild stiffness, three people (23.1%) were in moderate stiffness, six people (46.2%) were in severe stiffness, and one person (7.7%) was in highly severe stiffness. Statistical test of the relationship between anxiety and the level of joint stiffness in patients with Colles fracture showed no significant correlation (p=0.808). It can be concluded that there was no relationship between anxiety and the level of joint stiffness in fracture patients.

Highlights • Compared to previous studies in China, greater levels of anxiety were reported among French students in an area particularly affected by the disease, with more than half of these students experiencing anxiety. • Female gender and having relatives or acquaintances from their residence hospitalized for COVID-19 were the main risk factors for moderate to severe anxiety. • Support from family and support from friends were protective factors against anxiety., The COVID-19 has sent billions of students worldwide into lockdown. The study aimed to assess the prevalence of anxiety and identify the factors associated with anxiety among French students during lockdown.A cross-sectional study was conducted to collect sociodemographic data, living and learning conditions, anxiety symptoms and social support. Among 3936 students, 15.2%, experienced moderate anxiety and 9.8%, severe anxiety.Female gender (OR=2.2, 95% CI: 1.8-2.7) and having relatives or acquaintances from their housing hospitalized for COVID-19 (OR=3.3, 95% CI: 1.4-7.9) were the main risk factors for anxiety. Tensions at home (OR=1.8, 95% CI: 1.5-2.1), difficulties isolating (OR=1.4, 95% CI: 1.1-1.6), noises inside (OR=1.6, 95% CI: 1.3-1.9) or outside the housing (OR=1.5, 95% CI: 1.3-1.8), no direct outdoor access (OR=1.6, 95% CI: 1.3-2.0), delay in final examination (OR=1.6, 95% CI: 1.3-2.1), reduced time for learning (OR=1.3, 95% CI: 1.1-1.6), increased tobacco consumption (OR=1.9, 95% CI: 1.4-2.6), ineffectiveness of using media entertainment (OR=2.2, 95% CI: 1.1-4.4) and reading (OR=1.9, 95% CI: 1.3-2.7) to calm down, were identified as risk factors. Family (OR=0.85, 95% CI: 0.8-0.91) and friend (OR=0.88, 95% CI: 0.82-0.94) support were protective factors. This suggests the need to focus on students during epidemics, especially those living with someone hospitalized with COVID-19.

The aims of this research is to know the level of anxiety faced by students at ABA-UMI, to know the factors cause anxiety, and to know the students’ strategies in reducing anxiety in learning English. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The writers focused on observing the level of anxiety faced by ABA students. The writers took two classes as the repondents in 2013-2014 academic years. The writers did classroom observation and interviewed nine (9) students who tended to feel anxious in learning English. The observation was conducted three meetings in speaking class and the writers used video recording to record and collect the data needed.The writers found three levels of anxiety faced by ABA students; they were mild anxiety, moderate anxiety and severe anxiety level. The first level can be seen in physical response from the students such as nervous, afraid, sweating, and embarrassed. But, the students could control their anxiety by motivating themselves to learn. The second level of anxiety was moderate level. The student did not participate in class (silent), cold hands and sweating. In this level, the students could control his/her anxiety so that he/she could participate in learning.And the last level of anxiety found was severe anxiety. The writers found that there were two students who felt anxious. The students had different symptoms such as cold hands, sweating, and their head feel heavy. This anxiety appeared when students could not overcome his/her worry. In this level, the students could not control their anxiety so that they could not participate even avoid the learning activity.
