The effects of three corrections strategies of errors on the snatch technique in 10-12-year-old children: A randomized controlled trial. J Strength Cond Res XX(X): 000-000, 2020-Sports movement correction is one of the major problems for motor control and learning. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to determine which of the 3 strategies, i.e., the self-observation method with direct instructions (SO-DI), self-observation alone (SO), or the direct instruction (DI), would be useful for correcting errors during the snatch technique. Forty-eight children with 2 months of experience were randomly assigned to one of 4 training conditions: SO-DI, SO, DI, or control. In this study, the experience lasted 15 sessions. Subjects completed the test sessions before (T0) and after (T1) 12 training sessions and a retention test session after 2 weeks (T2). The Kinovea version 0.8.15 software was used to measure the kinematic parameters of weightlifting performance. After the training intervention, the data showed that the SO-DI group registered a greater improvement in all kinematic parameters compared with the SO, DI, and control groups, and this benefit was present 2 weeks later in the retention test (e.g., the horizontal displacement of the bar in the first pull with respect to the starting position [T1 vs. T0: +32.57 ± 6.69%, d = 1.87, p < 0.001; T2 vs. T0: 25.07 ± 11.55%, d = 1.32, p < 0.001] and the horizontal displacement of the bar between the receiving position and the reference line [T1 vs. T0: 24.34 ± 29%, d = 1.17, p < 0.01; T2 vs. T0: 25.53 ± 30.4%, d = 0.99, p < 0.01]). The results of the present study could have practical implications for physical education teachers because, even if practice is required to improve the technique, the effectiveness of the learning process is essential to enhance learner self-efficacy and motivation.

Purpose.The purpose of this paper is to study the characteristics of the carbonate serpentines present at the level of the Ait Ahmane site (Bou Azzer Mine, Morocco). Empirical methods are suitable for analyzing their behavior and determining the dimensions of support types. Methods. The rock mass of different structures mentioned in the study is categorized using empirical methods such RMR, Q-system and AFTES classifications. Findings. It has been found that the use of the rock mass quality method (Q-system) is extremely effective in mining rock mass, based on simulated statistical results obtained using empirical approaches. Originality. The equivalent dimensions of the gallery, the stress state in-situ after mining operations, as well as the height of the overburden are all important factors in the gallery stability. Practical implications. The approach creates a strengthened support structure that is optimal. In addition, this research will be useful as a starting point for geotechnical engineers when designing and planning support systems for tunneling under high in-situ stress conditions for very friable rocks.

This study aimed at assessing the impact of video modeling examples (VMEs) on secondary school students’ self-regulated learning experiences in gymnastics in original physical education (PE) settings. A total of 56 students (28 males and 28 females), aged 16–17, took part in a seven-week gymnastics learning unit for the purpose of acquiring new motor skills and knowledge using VMEs, in the absence of teacher and peer assistance. Our aim in this study was to examine, via technical performance analysis and speed of execution, whether information processing and technical knowledge help explain learning benefits of self-controlled video feedback in children’s weightlifting performance. We randomized 24 children (aged 10 to 12 years) into self-controlled (SC) and yoked (YK) feedback groups. Learners underwent test sessions one week before (pre-test) and one day after (post-test) six weightlifting training sessions. During each test session, we recorded kinematic parameters of snatch performance using Kinovea version 0.8.15 software. Background: Motor development in essential for ensuring mastery in daily motor activities. Nonetheless, skill acquisition is still requiring strategies inducing efficient motor learning.Objective: The aim of this research is to investigate whether a short period of learning a novel psychomotor task, based on difficulty manipulation, affects throwing performances and achievement goals adoption and stability in 11-12-year-old boys. Methods: Forty-one right-handed boys (M ± SD; age 11.3 ± 0.4 years, body height 147 ± 8.94 cm, body mass 40.57 ± 8.1 kg) were assigned to either control group (no difficulty manipulations), experimental group 1 (one dimension difficulty manipulation obtained by increasing the distance of the throws), and experimental group 2 (two-dimension difficulty with progressive manipulation of both distance and dartboard dimension). Three sessions were conducted within one week: pre-test, post-test, and retention test. Performance was evaluated by the accuracy (the mean score and the numbers of zeros) and consistency (the coefficients of variation). Two conditions were investigated: free condition and time pressure condition. For comparison of the tests, the analysis of variance was used. Bland and Altman correlations were used to assess the relationships between variables. Results: This study demonstrated that only the experimental group 1 made significant improvement in accuracy performance with better mean scores in the retention test when compared to the post-test (p = .01), and in a consistency measure with lower values at the retention test than at the post-test (p < .001). The control group made a higher number of errors at the retention test after time pressure condition than free condition (p = .02). Mean scores were found to be significantly correlated with consistency and errors (r = .81 and .78, respectively). However, analyses did not show significant dependence between achievement goals adoption for all groups. Conclusions: Accordingly, the progressive manipulation of difficulty level plays a major role in the improvement and durability of learning in the retention phase. However, it was not related to a change in the achievement goals adoption and stability.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate which of two strategies, Video Feedback with Pedagogical Activity (VF-PA) or Video Feedback (VF), would be more beneficial for the remote error correction of the snatch weightlifting technique during the confinement period. Thirty-five school aged children with at least three months of weightlifting experience were randomized to one of three training conditions: VF-PA, VF or the Control group (CONT). Subjects underwent test sessions one week before (T0) and one day after (T1) a six-session training period and a retention test session a week later (T2). During each test session, the Kinovea version 0.8.15 software measured the kinematic parameters of the snatch performance. Following distance learning sessions (T1), the VF-PA improved various kinematic parameters (i.e., barbell horizontal displacements, maximum height, looping and symmetry) compared with T0 (p &lt, 0.5, Cohen’s d = 0.58–1.1). Most of these improvements were maintained during the retention test (T2) (p&lt, 0.01, Cohen’s d = 1.2–1.3) when compared withT0. However, the VF group improved only twoparameters (i.e., barbell symmetry and horizontal displacement) at T1 (p &lt, 0.05, Cohen’s d = 0.9), which were not maintained at T2. Better horizontal displacement and looping values were registered during the retention test in the VF-PA group compared with theCONT group (p &lt, 0.05, Cohen’s d = 1.49–1.52). The present findings suggest combining video feedback with pedagogical activity during the pandemic induced online coaching or physical education to improve movement learning in school aged children.

Gluteal abscess following intramuscular injections are more common, often due to non-sterile injection techniques. We present a case of iliac osteomyelitis and gluteal abscess mimicking a tumor disease.

Background The septic pseudarthrosis of the humerus is a very difficult process that poses a towfold challenge: the infection eradication while trying to get consolidation. Objectives The aim of this study was to analyze the results of the treatment of septic pseudarthritis of the humerus with Orthofix monolateral axial external fixator. Methods This is a retrospective study which included 17 medical records of patients treated for septic pseudarthritis of the humerus debridement and stabilization by Orthofix over a period of 7 years. Results They were 13 women and 4 men with a mean age 44 years. The fracture site was most often at the distal half of the humerus. The initial treatment of the fracture was pinning or intramedullar nailing. Surgical management of pseudoarthrosis was performed 3.5 months after the first surgical procedure. All cases had a bone debridement and stabilization with a monoplane Orthofix axial external side. Fifteen cases had also a bone graft. The mean period of stabilization was 7months. Patients were evaluated clinically and radiologically each month. At the mean of three years of follow-up, we obtain osseous consolidation for all patients in the average of seven months. All patients underwent rehabilitation of the shoulder and elbow after treatment. The functional result were excellent results in 47% of cases, good results in 35,3% of cases and poor results in 17,7%. The Quick DASH score average was 28±5. The average of the elbow motion was 109 ° of flexion with an average of 30 °of deficit in extension. The useful range of motion of the elbow was preserved in 14 patients. There was a shaft angulation under 20 ° in 3 cases and over 20 ° in 3 other cases. We noted in four cases a bone shortening consolidations of 2 cm. We had a case of radial nerve neuraprexie which regressed spontaneously. Conclusions Orthofix is the method of choice for the treatment of septic pseudarthritis of the humerus. Associate eradication of the germ antibiotic and steroid intake spongy it allows the consolidation of the bone. Furthermore, the monolateral axial external fixator is tolerated well and allows movement of the shoulder and elbow throughout the period of treatment. Disclosure of Interest None declared

Objectif Cette etude se proposait de determiner l’effet de la privation partielle du sommeil et de la fatigue mentale sur les reponses physiques et psychophysiologiques chez des coureurs de demi-fond. Methodes Quatorze coureurs de demi-fond volontaires (22 ± 1 ans, 73 ± 6 kg, 177 ± 4 cm) ont participe au protocole. Ils ont realise une epreuve de course a pied de 12 min contre la montre apres trois differentes sessions experimentales randomisees, La session S1 consistait en une nuit controle. La session S2 correspondait en une nuit controle suivie d’une tache cognitive intense et prolongee (30 minutes de test Stroop). La session S3 consistait en une privation partielle du sommeil suivie de la meme tache cognitive. La vitesse de course, les parametres cardiorespiratoires (frequence cardiaque [FC], debit ventilatoire [VE] et consommation d’oxygene [VO2]) ont ete moyennes chaque minute durant l’epreuve de course a pied. Le temps de reaction simple a ete evalue avant chaque session experimentale. Resultats FC, VE, VO2 et la vitesse de course diminuaient en S3 en comparaison avec S1 et S2 (p Conclusion La fatigue cumulee induite par une privation partielle du sommeil et une tache cognitive prolongee cause une alteration des parametres psychophysiologiques et une baisse de la performance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of three types of chronobiotics on anaerobic performances and their diurnal fluctuations. Twelve physical education students have performed the vertical jump (i.e. squat jump (SJ) and counter movement jump (CMJ)) and the Wingate tests during three consecutive days. They have taken one of three types of sleeping pills (i.e. promethazine (PRO), diazepam (DZP), or phenobarbital (PHE)) or a placebo (PLA) for three successive nights. For each medication, subjects performed four test sessions as follows: at 08:00 h following the first two nights and at 08:00 h and at 17:00 h after the last night. Anaerobic performances during the SJ, CMJ, and the Wingate test were significantly lower after the PRO, DZP, and PHE protocols than PLA at 08:00 h test sessions. This study was designed to assess the effects of time-of-day of maximal aerobic exercise on the subsequent sleep of trained subjects. Twelve subjects (22.6 ± 2.1 years, 178 ± 4.4 cm and 72.2 ± 6.3 kg) completed the Yo-Yo intermittent-recovery-test level 1 (YYIRT) at 14:00 and 20:00 h. Then, sleep polysomnography was recorded from 22:00 to 07:00 h. Oral temperature was measured before and after the YYIRT and the sleep period. The purpose of this study was to determine whether delaying bedtime or advancing rising time by 4 h affects anaerobic performance of individuals the following day in the morning and afternoon. Eleven subjects participated in the study, during which we measured the maximal, peak, and mean powers (i.e., P(max) [force-velocity test], P(peak), and P(mean) [Wingate test], respectively). Measurements were performed twice daily, at 07:00 and 18:00 h, following a reference normal sleep night (RN), a partial sleep deprivation timed at the beginning of the night (SDB), and a partial sleep deprivation timed at the end of the night (SDE), and oral temperature was measured every 4 h. Each of the three experimental conditions was separated by a one-week period. Our results showed a circadian rhythm in oral temperature, and analysis of variance revealed a significant sleep x test-time effect on peak power (P(peak)), mean power (P(mean)), and maximal power (P(max)). These variables improved significantly from the morning to the afternoon for all three experimental conditions. Whereas the morning-afternoon improvement in the measures was similar after the RN and SDB conditions, it was smaller following the SDE condition. There was no significant difference in the effect of the two sleep-deprivation conditions on anaerobic performances at 07:00 and at 18:00 h under the SDB condition in comparison with the post-reference night. However, the performance variables were significantly lower at 18:00 h after the SDE condition. In conclusion, a 4 h partial sleep deprivation at the end of the night appears to be more disturbing than partial sleep deprivation at the beginning of the night.

Le tourisme de circuit est considéré aujourd’hui comme l’élément principal de l’offre touristique dans les régions sahariennes. Cette forme de tourisme concerne la zone touristique de Gafsa,Tozeur. Le pôle balnéaire de Djerba,Zarzis joue un rôle important dans l’organisation du tourisme de circuit dans les régions sahariennes. L’analyse de l’image touristique saharienne véhiculée par les tours opérateurs étrangers à travers leurs brochures publicitaires montre que les circuits touristiques et les randonnées au Sahara représentent le thème le plus abordé par ces voyagistes. L’objet de cette communication est d’élaborer une réflexion sur l’état des lieux du tourisme de circuit dans le Sahara tunisien, d’étudier son organisation spatiale et d’analyser son fonctionnement commercial chez les voyagistes étrangers. Elle tiendra aussi à proposer de nouveaux circuits touristiques capables de mieux organiser le tourisme de circuit dans le Sahara tunisien. Tourist tours are considered as the main attraction that the Sahara region offers. This form of tourism concerns the Gafsa,Tozeur tourist zone. The Djerba, Zaris spa pole plays an important role for organized sightseeing tours in the Sahara regions. An analysis of the Saharan tourism image, given by foreign tour operators in their publicity brochures, shows that the organized trips and excursions represent the subject the most approached by travel agencies. This research aims at elaborating evaluations of places in the tourist tours in the Saharan Tunisian circuit, to study its spatial organization and to analyze its commercial function among the foreign travel agents. It also tries to suggest new trips capable of better organization for this tour tourism in the Tunisian Sahara. Introduction Le syndrome canalaire du nerf fibulaire commun (FC) au col de la fibula est le plus frequent aux membres inferieurs. Il s’exprime preferentiellement sur le versant moteur et pose surtout un probleme de pronostic fonctionnel. Le but de cette etude etait d’analyser les resultats de la neurolyse et de montrer l’interet d’intervenir precocement. Patients et methodes Nous rapportons une etude retrospective de 12 compressions (âge moyen : 35 ans) traitees par neurolyse huit cas sans cause apparente, deux cas de compression extrinseque par exostose et deux cas post-traumatique. Le delai moyen de prise en charge etait de sept mois (deux a 18 mois). Resultats Au recul moyen de 40 mois (25 a 60), les resultats ont ete juges excellents dans six cas, bons dans cinq cas et moyen dans un cas. Le delai moyen de recuperation etait de 2,5 mois (deux semaines a six mois). Un excellent ou bon resultat a ete retrouve chez sept patients parmi les huit cas sans etiologie. Le resultat moyen correspondait a une etiologie post-traumatique. Discussion Plutot que d’attendre une recuperation spontanee, mais longue et incomplete, nous preferons intervenir entre le troisieme et le quatrieme mois si les symptomes persistent ou que la recuperation est incomplete meme si le patient presente uniquement des signes sensitifs, corrobores par l’EMG. La decompression chirurgicale permet d’avoir une recuperation plus rapide que celle obtenue apres traitement fonctionnel.

Pseudotumoral pigmented villonodular synovitis is rare and diagnosis is difficult.Report of new case.We report an original observation of a pseudotumoral pigmented villonodular synovitis occurred in a 28 years old patient with no recurrence after surgical treatment. A review of the literature was made in order to precise the epidemiological, diagnostic and therapeutic characteristics.

The abscess of obturator internal muscle is a rare disorder. The literature states only sporadic cases. Because of its rarity, the diagnosis is often late. Indeed, the presence of functional disability of the lower limb associated to a made septic syndrome evoke in the first of all, arthritis of the hip. We bring back (report) an observation illustrating the difficulties and the delay diagnosis of an abscess of the obturator internal muscle. It is about a ten year old girl having consulted for a septic syndrome with functional disability of the hip. The patient having been treated (handled) at the beginning for a cold of the hip. Secondarily she was operated for septic arthritis of the hip. The surgical investigation showed it self negative. It is only to the pelvien scanner realized after ten days of hospitalization that the diagnostic of abscess was reserved. The evolution has been favourable after surgical drainage and antibiotherapie.
