This article is intended to bring closer the raw materials policy of the Czech Republic, which is part of the European Union, so the article also refers to marginal and raw material policy of the European Union and secondly it is the aim of article introducing potential sources of mineral resources in our territory. Raw material policy can be understood as a political, legislative and administrative framework for reliable, affordable and long-term sustainable supply of raw materials. Raw material policy is a strategic document expressing the State's objectives in the field of mineral resources in accordance with the needs of economic and social development, including environmental protection, and is based on the principle of sustainable development. The subject of the raw materials strategy is to ensure the raw materials needs of the state, to ensure stable, safe and economically advantageous access to mineral raw materials. The article also contains the basic documents of the Czech Republic's raw materials policy. Another part of the articles is the definition of potential sources of minerals, ores, minerals, construction and energy raw materials. Part of the analysis of mineral resources is also the critical raw materials in our territory. In the Czech Republic, mining is regulated by a number of laws and decrees. The basis of this article is the approximation of legal provisions and their quantitative expression, the legal provisions applied in the area of economical exploitation of mineral resources in our territory. The provisions of the Upper Law are based on four fundamental principles and, on the basis of these principles, the provisions regarding the economical exploitation of mineral resources can be assigned to the individual principles. Among the different principles are the general and specific requirements for the economical exploitation of mineral resources, the control activities of the state administration bodies as well as sanctions. In the article, the individual principles will be approximated and defined in the provisions of the laws and decrees that concern the area of economical exploitation, especially from the upper law No. 44/1988 Sb. The output of the article is an analysis of legal regulations in the area under review, especially their quantitative expression and evaluation and suggestion of possible improvements to the provisions for more economical exploitation of mineral resources in the Czech Republic. The article deals with a basic economic image of the inland company Severočeské doly a.s. from 2010 until 2014. It is a company producing most brown coal in the Czech Republic. An economic insight into the company reveals important information for investors, but also for employees themselves, eventually it provides suppliers and customers with many useful data. The article presents basic economic indicators within a chosen period, their development and overall evaluation. It is indeed the economic analysis of the company that brings us valueable information concerning the economic position of the company within the Czech market. Thus, the main subject of the article is the detail description and presentation of the financial-economic situation and development of the Severočeské doly company and realization of horizontal and vertical analysis of balance and profit and loss statement. Furthermore, there are calculations of the total evaluation index. In the end, there is an overall evaluation and possible proposals for improvement of the situation within the chosen economic indicators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since the beginning of deep mining for the acquisition of minerals or driving galleries, later tunnels, man has faced the problem connected with draining used and polluted air (the so-called mine air), and transport of fresh air to the workplace. Since time immemorial, mine air has influenced and prevented the work of miners and drifters, as well as of the mechanized technology. The most significant factors of air pollution include exhaust fumes of mechanisms used in the performance of work, blasting fumes and, obviously, in the case of mines, gases released from the rock mass when its structure is disturbed. Finally, a major problem is blowing dust and unsuitable microclimatic conditions. Therefore, it was necessary to discover a process which would effectively eliminate these problems. As a result, in mines and in areas where mining methods are applied, main or auxiliary (separate) fans have been installed. Fans have made work in mines more effective and, among other things, it increased the safety of employees. The aim of this article is to explain the basic divisions and properties of the most used mining fans in the Ostrava-Karviná district. And also the characteristics of the fans used in the drilling of road and railway tunnels in the Czech and Slovak Republics as well as in Europe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Coal mining causes undesirable terrain subsidence due to caving in of the overlying rocks into the already excavated space. Subsidence deforms the terrain, damages structures on the surface and water flows, which results in the formation of inaccessible wetlands and swamps, and these areas need to be reclaimed. The problem of large flooded areas as a result of mining activities also concerns an area known as "Kozinec", which is located between Karviná and Doubrava in the Czech Republic. That territory has long been affected by mining in the Mining Plant 1. In "Kozinec", the subsidence reached up to 7 metres. Since this site has great natural value, it seemed desirable to reclaim the area. As early as in 2009, work on individual projects involving reclamation activities began. The projects also included proposals of islands and peninsulas that would be placed in the flooded area. Individual projects are designed so that sustainable development is maintained within the entire territory after the completion of reclamation projects. It is, therefore, a measure for the preservation of the environment for future generations in the least altered form. This article deals with a possibility of extraction flotative Ag-concentrate from the waste material, concretely slag arising from processing of silver and copper in the second half of the twentieth century, which is deposited around the city of Kutná Hora in the Markovičky region. A cationic octadecylamin was used as a flotative collector. The aim was to reach maximum metal content of the concentrate as well as maximum yield of Ag into concentrate during a decrease of raw material capacity. An anion active collector, xanthate natrium, was also used for comparison. Out of the performed flotation tests, the best results were reached within the concentrate yield of 16.98% with a further metal content of silver of 126 mg·kg-1 and yield of 38.9 %. Within this case, flotation efficiency was only 24.06% and the multiplier effect was 2.5 in total enrichment. Unfortunately, under these specific conditions flotation experiments did not reach a more significant enrichment of Ag into concentrate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The gold deposit in Zlaté Hory region has been known since the middle ages when the first mention about gold-washing and gold-mining had been appearing from the thirteenth century. Later on, the amount and quality of ores enabled also development of underground mining of gold but also mining of another ores such as Cu, Pb and Ag. The new age history started in 1965 on the deposit Zlaté Hory - south, when the mining was expanding to another localities as well. Termination of mining dates back to 1992. A wastewater slim pit was set after this mining and further modification. No modification is of such a quality that it would be possible to guarantee complete contraction of useful components. Due to new findings and facilities it is possible to apply on these materials another methods and machines due to which we could recontract lost gold. The first part of the thesis is focused on a general description of the locality and used methods of separation. Furthermore, the article characterizes the material from the mineralogical as well as granulometric point of view. Following these passages there are results that were reached by means of gravitational separation. The first findings show low content of gold in the supply material, however by means of applied gravitational separation of centrifugal powers it is possible to obtain concentrates with high content of gold. Technical monuments are important parts of the Ostrava Region as such premises represent a high percentage of the city sights. The technical monuments are remnants of the original industrial premises used in mining or metallurgy, e.g. Lower Vítkovice Complex, Mining Museum in Landek with its Anselm Mine, Michal Mine and its museum, and many coal mining dumps. The article describes selected technical monuments in the City of Ostrava and focuses on their relevance to geoscience and industrial tourism. The article describes a method of preparing the coal face and mining of a hard coal seam 8.6 meters thick. It explains the main reasons that led to mining the concerned seam in two slices about 4 meters thick. At the same time, it contains an overview of the coal face equipment and technology that was used when the coalface was cleared out after its extraction. This article discusses the alteration of limestones. The new study focuses on the distribution of hydrothermal alteration, where and how they occur, and what their relationship to the geological structure of the area of the Mokrá quarry is. The analysis and results of the statistical evaluation are confronted with the appearance of black cherts, which represent the sedimentary-diagenetic process.
