We propose a $1/N$ expansion of Starobinsky and Yokoyama's effective stochastic approach for light quantum fields on superhorizon scales in de Sitter spacetime. We explicitly compute the spectrum and the eigenfunctions of the Fokker-Planck operator for a O($N$)-symmetric theory with quartic selfinteraction at leading and next-to-leading orders in this expansion. The quantum fluctuations of a test scalar field on superhorizon scale in de Sitter spacetime can be described by an effective one-dimensional stochastic theory corresponding to a particular class of nonequilibrium dynamical systems known as the model A. Using the formulation of the latter in terms of a supersymmetric field theory, we compute various unequal-time correlators at large (superhorizon) time separations and compare with existing quantum field theory computation. This includes perturbative calculations, pushed here up to three-loop order, and a nonperturbative $1/N$ expansion at next-to-leading order. We study the backreaction of gravitationally amplified quantum fluctuations of scalar fields on a classical de Sitter geometry. We formulate the problem in the framework of the Wilsonian renormalisation group, which allows us to treat the scalar field fluctuations in a nonperturbative manner and to follow the renormalisation flow of the spacetime curvature as long wavelength, superhorizon fluctuations are progressively integrated out. For light fields in units of the spacetime curvature, these are described by an effective zero-dimensional field theory and can essentially be computed analytically. A nontrivial flow of the spacetime curvature is induced either by a nonminimal coupling to gravity or by self-interactions. The latter leads to a decrease of the spacetime curvature through loop effects, which, for minimally coupled, massless fields, grow unbounded in the infrared. However, such large loop contributions are eventually screened by the dynamical generation of a nonperturbative, gravitationally induced mass and the renormalisation of the spacetime curvature saturates to a nonzero value. Finally, we show that, in the case of spontaneously broken continuous symmetries, the Goldstone modes do not contribute to the infrared flow of the spacetime curvature, despite being strongly amplified by the gravitational field., Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures

We analyze the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model that we have after the discovery of the Higgs boson at the LHC, the hMSSM (habemus MSSM?), i.e. a model in which the lighter $h$ boson has a mass of approximately 125 GeV which, together with the non-observation of superparticles at the LHC, indicates that the SUSY-breaking scale $M_S$ is rather high, $M_S > 1$ TeV. We first demonstrate that the value $M_h \approx 125$ GeV fixes the dominant radiative corrections that enter the MSSM Higgs boson masses, leading to a Higgs sector that can be described, to a good approximation, by only two free parameters. In a second step, we consider the direct supersymmetric radiative corrections and show that, to a good approximation, the phenomenology of the lighter Higgs state can be described by its mass and three couplings: those to massive gauge bosons and to top and bottom quarks. We perform a fit of these couplings using the latest LHC data on the production and decay rates of the light $h$ boson and combine it with the limits from the negative search of the heavier $H,A$ and $H^\pm$ states, taking into account the current uncertainties., Comment: 1+12 pages, pdflatex, 7 figures

First, we study the fit of the Higgs boson rates, based on all the latest collider data, in the effective framework for any Extra-Fermion(s) [EF]. The best-fit results are presented in a generic formalism allowing to apply those for the test of any EF scenario. The variations of the fit with each one of the five fundamental parameters are described, and, the obtained fits can be better than in the Standard Model (SM). We show how the determination of the EF loop-contributions to the Higgs couplings with photons and gluons is relying on the knowledge of the top and bottom Yukawa couplings (affected by EF mixings); for determining the latter coupling, the relevance of the investigation of the Higgs production in association with bottom quarks is emphasized. In the instructive approximation of a single EF, we find that the constraints from the fit already turn out to be quite predictive, in both cases of an EF mixed or not with SM fermions, and especially when combined with the extra-quark (-lepton) mass bounds from direct EF searches at the LHC (LEP) collider. In the case of an unmixed extra-quark, non-trivial fit constraints are pointed out on the Yukawa couplings for masses up to ~200 TeV. In particular, we define the extra-dysfermiophilia, which is predicted at 68.27% C.L. for any single extra-quark (independently of its electric charge). Another result is that, among any components of SM multiplet extensions, the extra-quark with a -7/3 electric charge is the one preferred by the present Higgs fit., Comment: 27 pages, 10 figures. We first build a minimal model of vector-like quarks where the dominant Higgs boson production process at LHC -- the gluon fusion -- can be significantly suppressed, being motivated by the recent stringent constraints from the search for direct Higgs production over a wide Higgs mass range. Within this model, compatible with the present experimental constraints on direct Higgs searches, we demonstrate that the Higgs ($h$) production via a heavy vector-like top-partner ($t_2$) decay, $pp \to t_2 \bar t_2$, $t_2\to t h$, allows to discover a Higgs boson at the LHC and measure its mass, through the decay channels $h\to \gamma\gamma$ or $h\to ZZ$. Within the paradigm of warped extra dimensions, third generation quarks are expected to be the most sensitive to effects beyond the Standard Model. The anomalies observed at the LEP and Tevatron colliders in the forward-backward asymmetries of the bottom (A_FB^b) and top (A_FB^t) quarks can thus be seen as early signatures of warped extra-dimensional scenarios. We propose a realization of such a scenario, with a gauge custodial symmetry in the bulk, which allows to address simultaneously the A_FB^b anomaly and the discrepancies observed recently on A_FB^t at high top quark rapidities and ttbar invariant masses. We also show that the various phenomenological constraints arising from LEP, Tevatron and LHC can be satisfied within the considered model. We present a collection of signatures for physics beyond the standard model that need to be explored at the LHC. First, are presented various tools developed to measure new particle masses in scenarios where all decays include an unobservable particle. Second, various aspects of supersymmetric models are discussed. Third, some signatures of models of strong electroweak symmetry are discussed. In the fourth part, a special attention is devoted to high mass resonances, as the ones appearing in models with warped extra dimensions. Finally, prospects for models with a hidden sector/valley are presented. The R-Parity symmetry Violating (RPV) version of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) is attractive simultaneously with regard to the so-called mu-problem and the accommodation of three-flavor neutrino data at tree level. In this context, we show here that if the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) is the gravitino, it possesses a lifetime larger than the age of the universe since its RPV induced decay channels are suppressed by the weak gravitational strength. This conclusion holds if one considers gravitino masses ~ 10^2 GeV like in supergravity scenarios, and is robust if the lightest pseudoscalar Higgs field is as light as ~ 10 GeV [as may occur in the NMSSM]. For these models predicting in particular an RPV neutrino-photino mixing, the gravitino lifetime exceeds the age of the universe by two orders of magnitude. However, we find that the gravitino cannot constitute a viable dark matter candidate since its too large RPV decay widths would then conflict with the flux data of last indirect detection experiments. The cases of a sneutrino LSP or a neutralino LSP as well as the more promising gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking scenario are also discussed. Both the one-flavor simplification hypothesis and the realistic scenario of three neutrino flavors are analyzed. This review presents flavour related issues in the production and decays of heavy states at LHC, both from the experimental side and from the theoretical side. The extra-dimensional model in which the bulk geometry is a slice of anti-de Sitter space is a particularly attractive extension of the Standard Model as it allows to address the gauge hierarchy problem, as well as the mass hierarchy prevailing among fermions. However, to allow for the masses of the Kaluza-Klein excitations of the known particles to be near the Terascale without conflicting with the high-precision electroweak data, one needs to promote the gauge symmetry to a left-right structure SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R x U(1) which incorporates a new quark b', the SU(2)_R doublet partner of the heavy top quark. We show that this new quark will contribute to the main production process of Higgs bosons at the LHC: the gluon-gluon fusion mechanism which proceeds through heavy quark triangular loops. In most of the parameter space in which the measured values of the heavy t,b quark masses are reproduced, the gg -> Higgs production cross section is significantly altered, even if the b' quark is too heavy to be directly accessible, m_b' > ~1TeV. We study a purely leptonic signature of the Randall-Sundrum scenario with Standard Model fields in the bulk at LHC: the contribution from the exchange of Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of gauge bosons to the clear Drell-Yan reaction. We show that this contribution is detectable (even with the low luminosities of the LHC initial regime) for KK masses around the TeV scale and for sufficiently large lepton couplings to KK gauge bosons. Such large couplings can be compatible with ElectroWeak precision data on the Zff coupling in the framework of the custodial O(3) symmetry recently proposed, for specific configurations of lepton localizations (along the extra dimension). These configurations can simultaneously reproduce the correct lepton masses, while generating acceptably small Flavour Changing Neutral Current (FCNC) effects. This LHC phenomenological analysis is realistic in the sense that it is based on fermion localizations which reproduce all the quark/lepton masses plus mixing angles and respect FCNC constraints in both the hadron and lepton sectors., Comment: 15 pages, 6 Figures, Latex file

The version of the higher-dimensional Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with matter in the bulk, which addresses the gauge hierarchy problem, has additional attractive features. In particular, it provides an intrinsic geometrical mechanism that can explain the origin of the large mass hierarchies among the Standard Model fermions. Within this context, a good solution for the gauge hierarchy problem corresponds to low masses for the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of the gauge bosons. Some scenarios have been proposed in order to render these low masses (down to a few TeV) consistent with precision electroweak measurements. Here, we give specific and complete realizations of this RS version with small KK masses, down to 1 TeV, which are consistent with the entire structure of the fermions in flavour space: (1) all the last experimental data on quark/lepton masses and mixing angles (including massive neutrinos of Dirac type) are reproduced, (2) flavour changing neutral current constraints are satisfied and (3) the effective suppression scales of non-renormalizable interactions (in the physical basis) are within the bounds set by low energy flavour phenomenology. Our result, on the possibility of having KK gauge boson modes as light as a few TeV, constitutes one of the first theoretical motivations for experimental searches of direct signatures at the LHC collider, of this interesting version of the RS model which accommodates fermion masses., Comment: 27 pages, Latex file. Amongst the diverse propositions for extra dimensional scenarios, the model of Randall and Sundrum (RS), which offers a solution for the long standing puzzle of the gauge hierarchy problem, has attracted considerable attention from both the theoretical and experimental points of view. In the context of the RS model with gauge bosons and fermions living in the bulk, a novel type of mechanism has arisen for interpreting the strong mass hierarchy of the Standard Model fermions. This purely geometrical mechanism is based on a type and flavor dependent localization of fermions along a warped extra dimension. Here, we find concrete realizations of this mechanism, reproducing all the present experimental data on masses and mixings of the entire leptonic sector. We consider the case of Dirac neutrino masses (due to an additional right handed neutrino) where the various constraints on RS parameter space are taken into account. The scenarios, elaborated in this paper, generate the entire lepton mass hierarchy and mixing, essentially, via the higher-dimensional mechanism, as the Yukawa coupling dependence is chosen to be minimal. In addition, from the above mechanism, we predict the typical lepton mixing angle 10^-5 < sin(theta_13) < 10^-1, a neutrino mass spectrum with normal hierarchy and the smallest neutrino mass to lie approximately in the range: 10^-11 eV < m_nu_1 < 10^-2 eV. Scenarios based on the existence of large or warped (Randall-Sundrum model) extra dimensions have been proposed for addressing the long standing puzzle of gauge hierarchy problem. Within the contexts of both those scenarios, a novel and original type of mechanism generating small (Dirac) neutrino masses, which relies on the presence of additional right-handed neutrinos that propagate in the bulk, has arisen. The main objective of the present study is to determine whether this geometrical mechanism can produce reasonable neutrino masses also in the interesting multi-brane extensions of the Randall-Sundrum model. We demonstrate that, in some multi-brane extensions, neutrino masses in agreement with all relevant experimental bounds can indeed be generated but at the price of a constraint (stronger than the existing ones) on the bulk geometry, and that the other multi-brane models even conflict with those experimental bounds., Comment: 29 pages, 3 figures, Latex file. Theoretical and phenomenological implications of R-parity violation in supersymmetric theories are discussed in the context of particle physics and cosmology. Fundamental aspects include the relation with continuous and discrete symmetries and the various allowed patterns of R-parity breaking. Recent developments on the generation of neutrino masses and mixings within different scenarios of R-parity violation are discussed. The possible contribution of R-parity-violating Yukawa couplings in processes involving virtual supersymmetric particles and the resulting constraints are reviewed. We study a multi-localization model for charged leptons and neutrinos, including the possibility of a see-saw mechanism. This framework offers the opportunity to allow for realistic solutions in a consistent model without fine-tuning of parameters, even if quarks are also considered. Those solutions predict that the large Majorana mass eigenvalues for right-handed neutrinos are of the same order of magnitude, although this almost common mass can span a large range (bounded from above by $\sim 10^{12}{\rm GeV}$). The model also predicts Majorana masses between $\sim 10^{-2}{\rm eV}$ and $\sim 5 \ 10^{-2}{\rm eV}$ for the left-handed neutrinos, both in the normal and inverted mass hierarchy cases. This mass interval corresponds to sensitivities which are reachable by proposed neutrinoless double $\beta$ decay experiments. The preferred range for leptonic mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ is: $10^{-2} \lesssim \sin \theta_{13} \lesssim 10^{-1}$, but smaller values are not totally excluded by the model., Comment: 36 pages, 8 figures

We present a general study of a three neutrino flavour transition model based on the supersymmetric interactions which violate R-parity. These interactions induce flavour violating scattering reactions between solar matter and neutrinos. The model does not contain any vacuum mass or mixing angle for the first generation neutrino. Instead, the effective mixing in the first generation is induced via the new interactions. The model provides a natural interpretation of the atmospheric neutrino anomaly, and is consistent with reactor experiments. We determine all R-parity violating couplings which can contribute to the effective neutrino oscillations, and summarize the present laboratory bounds. Independent of the specific nature of the (supersymmetric) flavour violating model, the experimental data on the solar neutrino rates and the recoil electron energy spectrum are inconsistent with the theoretical predictions. The confidence level of the $\chi^2$-analysis ranges between $\sim 10^{-4}$ and $\sim 10^{-3}$. The incompatibility, is due to the new SNO results, and excludes the present model. We conclude that a non-vanishing vacuum mixing angle for the first generation neutrino is necessary in our model. We expect this also to apply to the solutions based on other flavour violating interactions having constraints of the same order of magnitude., Comment: 17 pages, Latex file

By taking into account the present constraints on the trilinear R-parity violating coupling constants and assuming the gravitino and scalar superpartner masses do not exceed $\sim 80 TeV$, it turns out that the gravitinos could easily have decayed before the present epoch but not earlier than the big-bang nucleosynthesis one. The supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model can contain interactions violating the so-called R-parity symmetry. Such couplings would lead to the lepton and/or baryon number violation and modify deeply the phenomenology of supersymmetry at future particle colliders. We have worked out tests of the R-parity violating interactions. First, we have studied clear signals of the single production of supersymmetric partners of the Standard Model particles, which involves the R-parity violating interactions, in the context of physics at next leptonic and hadronic colliders. The results show that strong sensitivities could be obtained on the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters and indicate the possibility of an improvement of one to two order of magnitude concerning the present indirect limits on the values of several R-parity violating coupling constants. Besides, it has been verified that the single superpartner production analysis offers the opportunity to reconstruct in a model independent way some superpartner masses with an high accuracy. Secondly, we have studied CP symmetry violation effects, due to the complex phases of R-parity violating coupling constants, in the pair production of either fermions or sfermions of different flavors at future leptonic colliders. We have seen notably that the single top quark production allows to test the CP violation in the hadronic sector. The main conclusion of these works is that complex phases of certain R-parity violating coupling constants could be observed, and in particular within a scenario where those couplings would exhibit a strong hierarchy in flavor space., Comment: 436 pages, Latex file. We study the single chargino production $e^+ e^- \to \tilde \chi^{\pm} \mu^{\mp}$ at linear colliders which occurs through the $\l_{121}$ R-parity violating coupling constant. We focus on the final state containing 4 leptons and some missing energy. The largest background is \susyq and can be reduced using the initial beam polarization and some cuts based on the specific kinematics of the single chargino production. Assuming the highest allowed supersymmetric background, a center of mass energy of $\sqrt s=500GeV$ and a luminosity of ${\cal L}=500fb^{-1}$, the sensitivities on the $\l_{121}$ coupling constant obtained from the single chargino production study improve the low-energy experimental limit over a range of $\Delta m_{\tilde \nu} \approx 500GeV$ around the sneutrino resonance, and reach values of $\sim 10^{-4}$ at the $\tilde \nu$ pole. The single chargino production also allows to reconstruct the $\tilde \chi_1^{\pm}$, $\tilde \chi_2^{\pm}$ and $\tilde \nu$ masses. We study the single productions of supersymmetric particles at Tevatron Run II which occur in the $2 \to 2-body$ processes involving R-parity violating couplings of type $\l'_{ijk} L_i Q_j D_k^c$. We focus on the single gaugino productions which receive contributions from the resonant slepton productions. We first calculate the amplitudes of the single gaugino productions. Then we perform analyses of the single gaugino productions based on the three charged leptons and like sign dilepton signatures. These analyses allow to probe supersymmetric particles masses beyond the present experimental limits, and many of the $\l'_{ijk}$ coupling constants down to values smaller than the low-energy bounds. Finally, we show that the studies of the single gaugino productions offer the opportunity to reconstruct the $\tilde \chi^0_1$, $\tilde \chi^{\pm}_1$, $\tilde \nu_L$ and $\tilde l^{\pm}_L$ masses with a good accuracy in a model independent way., Comment: 47 pages, epsfig

The resonant production of sneutrinos at the LHC via the R-parity violating couplings $\l '_{ijk} L_i Q_j D^c_k$ is studied through its three-leptons signature. A detailed particle level study of signal and background is performed using a fast simulation of the ATLAS detector. Through the full reconstruction of the cascade decay, a model-independent and precise measurement of the masses of the involved sparticles can be performed. Besides, this signature can be detected for a broad class of supersymmetric models, and for a wide range of values of several $\l '_{ijk}$ coupling constants. Within the MSSM, the production of a 900 GeV sneutrino for $\lambda^{\prime}_{211}>0.05$, and of a 350 GeV sneutrino for $\lambda^{\prime}_{211}>0.01$ can be observed within the first three years of LHC running., Comment: 33 pages, 19 figures, Latex file

We consider the single chargino production at Tevatron $p \bar p \to \tilde \nu_i \to \tilde \chi^{\pm}_1 l_i^{\mp}$ as induced by the resonant sneutrino production via a dominant \RPV coupling of type $\l'_{ijk} L_i Q_j D_k^c$. Within a supergravity model, we study the three leptons final state. The comparison with the expected background demonstrate that this signature allows to extend the sensitivity on the \susyq mass spectrum beyond the present LEP limits and to probe the relevant \RPV coupling down to values one order of magnitude smaller than the most stringent low energy indirect bounds. The trilepton signal offers also the opportunity to reconstruct the neutralino mass in a model independent way with good accuracy., Comment: 4 pages

A very short review on phenomenological aspects of supersymmetry with violated R-parity at e+e- colliders is given. We present specific examples of a search for supersymmetric particles with violating R-parity couplings at a 500 GeV~e+e- linear collider.
