The administration of neurophysiological, neurocognitive and behavioral measures as endophenotypes in studies about schizophrenia is in vogue, particularly the inquiry on their interrelationships and their impact on patient’s functional outcome. To this date, increasingly large Portuguese samples with genetic risk to schizophrenia (patients and families) have been integrated into studies about candidate genes to schizophrenia or linkage studies relating schizophrenia to other severe mental illnesses. The inclusion of Portuguese samples gained significant interest for being genetically homogenous in comparison to other western populations. However, despite cognitive abilities being also largely inheritable and relevant to the understanding of schizophrenia, the profile of cognitive deficits in schizophrenia has not been sufficiently explored in our national samples. The use of neurocognitive assessment in schizophrenia has the potential to yield innovations in the multidisciplinary treatment and intervention for affected patients and families, and future research that heighten our understanding about what stands between the genotype and the phenotype regarding this complex and impairing disease. The work hereby presented provides an empirical contribute to the understanding of the endophenotypic aspects involved in schizophrenia, and to the discussion of the implications to research, new intervention targets and psychosocial approaches for families and patients. We studied several putative neurocognitive endophenotypes of that illness by developing an in-depth investigation of the neurocognitive and social cognition in schizophrenia in Portuguese samples of patients affected with schizophrenia, first-degree relatives, and controls. We dove below the cloudy waters of clinical heterogeneity of symptoms to attempt to provide a characterization of schizophrenia – both on an endophenotypic and functional level – in an objective and comprehensive approach. By empirically tracing a latent neurocognitive profile and characterizing the underlying processes of the clinical and biological underpinnings of schizophrenia, we expected to contribute to a more coherent systematization of schizophrenia and treatment/rehabilitation. As a by-product of this research, we also aimed to provide specific and psychometrically sound tools for neurocognitive assessment and performance-based skills assessment relevant to practitioners and researchers working in several disciplinary fields with Portuguese-speaking populations. A administração de medidas neurofisiológicas, neurocognitivas e comportamentais para a avaliação de variáveis endofenotípicas nos estudos sobre a esquizofrenia é uma área que tem adquirido um progressivo destaque, particularmente no que toca o questionamento sobre as inter-relações entre estas variáveis e o seu impacto na capacidade funcional dos doentes. Até a data, diversos estudos sobre genes candidatos à esquizofrenia ou estudos de ligação relacionando a esquizofrenia a outras doenças mentais graves integraram grandes amostras portuguesas de sujeitos em risco genético para esquizofrenia (pacientes e famílias). A inclusão destas amostras relaciona-se com o facto da população portuguesa ser geneticamente mais homogénea em comparação com outras populações ocidentais. No entanto, e apesar das capacidades cognitivas serem, em grande parte, também hereditárias e relevantes para a compreensão da esquizofrenia, o perfil dos défices cognitivos na esquizofrenia não tem sido suficientemente explorado em amostras nacionais. O uso da avaliação neurocognitiva na esquizofrenia tem o potencial de introduzir inovação no tratamento e potenciar intervenções multidisciplinares direcionadas para pacientes e famílias afetadas, bem como o potencial de fomentar futuras investigações orientadas para o aumento da nossa compreensão sobre o que existe entre o genótipo e o fenótipo desta doença tão complexa e invalidante. O trabalho aqui apresentado é um contributo para a compreensão dos aspetos endofenotípicos subjacentes à esquizofrenia, bem como para a discussão das suas implicações para a investigação, para o estabelecimento de alvos específicos de intervenção e para o desenvolvimento abordagens psicossociais específicas para famílias e pacientes que sofrem de esquizofrenia. Estudámos diversos endofenótipos neurocognitivos putativos da doença, encontrados na literatura, desenvolvendo uma investigação aprofundada da neurocognição e da cognição social na esquizofrenia, em amostras portuguesas de pacientes diagnosticados com esquizofrenia, parentes em primeiro grau e controlos. Mergulhámos para além das águas conturbadas pela heterogeneidade clínica dos sintomas para tentar proporcionar uma caracterização da esquizofrenia – tanto ao nível endofenotípico quanto funcional – recorrendo a abordagens objetivas e metodologicamente abrangentes. Ao traçar empiricamente um perfil neurocognitivo latente e ao caracterizar os processos clínicos e biológicos subjacentes da esquizofrenia, esperámos poder contribuir para uma futura sistematização mais coerente da esquizofrenia, bem como para o seu tratamento e reabilitação. Como um subproduto deste trabalho, procurámos, ainda, fornecer ferramentas específicas e psicometricamente robustas para a avaliação neurocognitiva e para a avaliação de habilidades baseadas no desempenho, que se mostrassem relevantes para profissionais e investigadores atuantes em diversas áreas disciplinares junto de populações falantes da língua portuguesa.

Resumo O presente artigo constitui-se num relato de experiências de profissionais da Psicologia vivenciadas nos Centros de Cidadania LGBT do Programa Rio sem Homofobia, no período em que este programa e seus Centros de Cidadania estiveram plenamente ativos e presentes em diferentes pontos do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Este programa é vinculado à Superintendência de Direitos Individuais, Coletivos e Difusos da então Secretaria de Assistência Social e Direitos Humanos do estado do Rio de Janeiro (SUPERDir/SEASDH) e tem como objetivos gerais o combate às homo, lesbo, bi e transfobias, bem como a promoção da cidadania LGBT. A partir de alguns casos por nós acompanhados, discutimos possibilidades de intervenção que se colocassem ao lado do movimento de ampliação da potência de vida dos(as) usuários(as) do serviço, principalmente pela proposta de intervenções interdisciplinares e articuladas com o contexto da demanda e/ou violação. Desta forma, reiteramos a importância de construirmos o campo das práticas psi atravessado por um trabalho em rede pautado por questões relacionadas aos Direitos Humanos, movimento social e políticas públicas. Abstract This article is a narrative of the experiences of psychology professionals working in the LGBT Citizenship Centers of the Rio without Homophobia Programme, in the period in which this program and its Citizenship Centers were fully active and present in different parts of the state of Rio de Janeiro. This program is linked to the Superintendence of Individual, Collective and Diffuse Rights of the Department of Social Assistance and Human Rights of the state of Rio de Janeiro (SUPERDir/SEASDH) and has as general objectives the combat against homo, lesbo, bi and transphobia, as well as the promotion of LGBT citizenship. From a few cases we monitored, we discussed possibilities for intervention that were placed alongside the movement to increase the potency of life of the users of the service, mainly by the proposal of interdisciplinary interventions and articulations with the context of demand and/or violation. In this way, we reiterate the importance of constructing the field of psi practices through a networked work based on issues related to Human Rights, social movement and public policies. Resumen Este artículo es un informe de las experiencias de los profesionales de psicología que vivieron en los Centros de Ciudadanía LGBT de Río sin el Programa de Homofobia, durante el período en que este programa y sus Centros de Ciudadanía estuvieron completamente activos y presentes en diferentes partes del estado de Río de Janeiro. Este programa está vinculado a la Superintendencia de Individuos, Colectivos y Difusos de la entonces Secretaría de Asistencia Social y Derechos Humanos del estado de Río de Janeiro (SUPERDir/SEASDH) y tiene como objetivos generales la lucha contra el homo, lesbo, bi y transfobías, así como la promoción de la ciudadanía LGBT. Con base en algunos casos que hemos seguido, discutimos las posibilidades de intervención que se colocarían junto con el movimiento para aumentar el poder de servicio de los usuarios del servicio, principalmente debido a la propuesta de intervenciones interdisciplinarias y articuladas con el contexto de demanda y / o violación Por lo tanto, reiteramos la importancia de construir el campo de las prácticas psi atravesadas por una red basada en temas relacionados con los Derechos Humanos, el movimiento social y las políticas públicas.

Dissertação de mestrado em Direito Tributário, O presente trabalho tem como objeto de estudo a efetividade da recuperação financeira dos entes públicos nos ordenamentos jurídicos brasileiro e português. Com o crescente número de Estados, Municípios e Autarquias Locais em situação de desequilíbrio financeiro, faz-se necessária a seguinte ponderação: o atual instrumento de recuperação financeira é eficaz? Na busca para encontrar a resposta, é imprescindível perceber a estrutura político-administrativa dos ordenamentos jurídicos em questão, os planos de recuperação vigentes e como os entes públicos reagem após aderir ao plano. Como também, não pode ser excluído o estudo de determinados temas centrais em matéria financeira, em especial: a atividade financeira, os princípios, o orçamento e os tipos de controle existentes. Desse modo, será realizado ao longo de todo o trabalho, método comparativo entre Brasil e Portugal, sendo feita análise crítica da doutrina, jurisprudência e legislação financeira vigente com a atual realidade vivenciada pelos entes públicos. Pretendemos propiciar singelo contributo sobre a efetividade da recuperação financeira dos entes públicos, a tentativa por encontrar o ponto de intercessão entre os dois ordenamentos jurídicos. Explorar as falhas e acertos deste instrumento, com intuito de avançarmos para um melhor aprendizado e funcionamento das finanças públicas., The present work has as object of study the effectiveness of the financial recovery of the public entities in the Brazilian and Portuguese legal systems. With the growing number of States, Municipalities and Local Authorities in a situation of financial imbalance, the following consideration is needed: is the current financial recovery instrument effective? It is essential to understand the political-administrative structure of the legal systems, the current recovery plans and how public entities react after adhering to the plan. Likewise, the study of certain central themes in financial matters cannot be excluded, in particular: financial activity, principles, the budget and the types of control that exist. Therefore, it will be carried out throughout the work, comparative method between Brazil and Portugal, being made critical analysis of the doctrine, jurisprudence, and financial legislation in force with the current reality experienced by public entities. We intend to provide a simple contribution on the effectiveness of the financial recovery of public entities, the attempt to find the point of intersection between the two legal systems. Explore the shortcomings and successes of this instrument in order to move towards a better learning and functioning of public finances.

Self-criticism may be understood as a harmful self-evaluation that implies feelings of uselessness and guilt towards perceptions of failure. Goals: to explore the latent structure and other psychometric properties of the Forms of Self-Criticizing and Reassuring Scale for Children (FSCRS -C) of the Portuguese population. Method: the FSCRS-C was administered to 249 Azorean children. Results: a two-dimensional model was confirmed including the Self-criticism and Self-reassuring subscale, which presented good internal consistency. The FSCRS -C presented good divergent and convergent validity. Conclusion: the adapted version for children provides a robust measure to be used in studies aiming at the study of the development of this construct., O autocriticismo pode ser entendido como uma autoavaliação prejudicial que implica sentimentos de inutilidade e culpa quando o sujeito se depara com situações de fracasso. Objetivos: explorar a estrutura latente e qualidades psicométricas da Escala das Formas do Autocriticismo e Autotranquilização (FSCRS-C) da população infantil portuguesa. Método: o FSCRS-C foi administrado a 249 crianças açorianas. Resultados: verifica-se uma estrutura bidimensional que incluiu o autocriticismo e autotranquilização. As subescalas apresentaram uma boa consistência interna. O FSCRS-C apresentou uma boa validade divergente e convergente. Conclusão: a versão adaptada para crianças fornece uma medida robusta a ser utilizada em estudos visando o estudo do desenvolvimento deste construto.

O artigo, utilizando-se do método da Análise Econômica do Direito, avalia o seguro de responsabilidade civil dos diretores e administradores, chamado de D&O - Directors and Officers Liability Insurance, e a proteção que esse seguro pode oferecer para o patrimônio dos administradores e a todos aqueles que tem poder de gerência dentro de uma empresa. Nas organizações, o processo decisório é movido por meio do conhecimento e da informação, e quanto mais fatores, mais complexa é a tomada de decisão, o que torna arriscada a atividade do administrador, que pode ser obrigado a reparar os danos causados com seu patrimônio pessoal. O administrador se depara diariamente com a assimetria informacional, a racionalidade limitada e os conflitos de agência, que influenciam no processo decisório, aumentado o risco de sua decisão acarretar danos para terceiros e para a própria empresa. O seguro D&O pode ser usado para minimizar essa situação de risco para o administrador com relação ao seu patrimônio pessoal.

Defesa : Curitiba, 28/02/2018 Inclui referências Resumo : Reconhecendo-se na produção literária um espaço de voz para a subjetividade humana, suas formas de dar sentido e apreender seu contexto, além de significá-lo, tendo como seu cerne uma carga de produção simbólica de verdade, a presente proposta de pesquisa se apresenta sob as perspectivas da história cultural a fim de investigar impactos e manifestações da subjetividade humana em relação às questões relacionadas às transformações impostas pelo contexto de época do final do século XIX inglês nas obras literárias The Body Snatcher (1884), Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886) e Markheim (1886), do autor escocês Robert Louis Stevenson, em suas possíveis construções de sentido de realidade e constituição de identidade humana e suas relações de consonância e transgressão às imposições e demandas sociais do período. Época de transição histórica em que a ciência, em seus avanços, associada ao racionalismo, clama pelo lugar de verdade outrora concedido à religião, e o individualismo se impõe em lugar de uma sociedade que, antes da Revolução Industrial e desenvolvimento do capitalismo, guiava a constituição do sujeito estruturada na coletividade, a segunda metade do século XIX se configura como um momento em que a identidade do que é ser humano e do que é a verdade está em crise evidente. Neste período, o desenvolvimento científico, sobretudo pela popularidade do darwinismo e de outros estudos científicos atrelados à questão da bilateralidade cerebral, ganha atenção e gera angústia de forma concomitante. As angústias diante do discurso da degenerescência, bem como o desconforto frente às respostas oferecidas pelas ciências, diferentes daquelas idealizadas no início do século e aquém, potencializam a dificuldade característica de momentos de transição contextual do homem; tal condição impõe e implica o definir-se para si mesmo e em relação ao outro, ao contexto, aos novos modos de vida, à urbanização, ao anonimato, à individuação e ao individualismo. As angústias geradas por tal configuração não seguem em silêncio, manifestando-se posicionamentos reacionários ao dogmatismo do cientificismo e outras características supracitadas do contexto de época nas obras literárias que servem como fonte de análise para a presente proposta de trabalho. Abstract : Considered a way of expressing human subjectivity, capable of enlightening mankind ways of create an express meanings and ways of understanding – or not - the human being and its context , literature has a potential, symbolic and productive charge that generate modes of expressing reality in a particular way; that’s the reason why the proposal of this research work is based on the perspective of Cultural History, with the intention to investigate impacts and manifestations of mankind subjectivity regarding the historical changes imposed during the Victorian nineteenth century on the literary works The Body Snatcher (1884), Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886) and Markheim (1886), by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, literary works analyzed at this material on its possible suggestions of meanings and creative possibilities of "Reading" and "creating" reality regarding the context in which they were written on the search for a (re)constitution of what it was the human identity and its relations of consonance and transgressions to the impositions and social demands of the mentioned period. Time of historical transitions in which advances in sciences, associated to rationalism, are claiming for the throne of truth once occupied by religions, and also time for individualism to impose itself in opposition to a society that once, before Industrial Revolution and rise of capitalism used to guide the constitution of the self based on its place on collectivity, the second half of nineteenth century defines itself as a moment in which the identity of what it is to be human and the reference about "truth" are facing undeniable crisis. At this time, scientific development, most of all by the explosive popularity of Darwinism and other scientific studies related to the dual-brain theory, calls attention and anguish concomitantly to itself. The anguish related to the scientific theory of degeneracy, as the uncomfortable feeling generated by the answers offered by Science about man and society, that are a bit different from those idealized in the beginning of the century and before that, increased the so-common tendency of moments of historical transition to destabilize mankind subjectivity; this condition imposes and implicates the definition of the self to itself, others and the social context, new models of life, urbanization, anonymity, individuation and individualism as an imperative. The restlessness generated by this configuration do not flows silently, and reactionaries rises their voices opposing to the scientific dogmatism and all other context particularities already mentioned above; this reactions are manifested on the literary works that are the source of analysis on the present material. Background: The stigma associated with mental illness has a negative impact on the social life, recovery and psychological well-being of individuals with severe psychopathology. Thus, it is urgent to analyze this phenomenon in order to be able to intervene more effectively in the prevention of the negative stigma associated with this type of disease. The Link Perception of Social Stigma Scale (LPDDS) is a self-report scale aimed to assess attitudes, beliefs, and stigma towards people with severe mental illness. This scale have two factors, a factor related to social stigma and the other about self-perception of stigma. Objectives: The goal of the current study was to translate and to adapt this scale to the Portuguese population, and to explore its psychometric properties in a sample of Azorean adults. Materials and Methods: The Spanish version of the LPDDS was translated to portuguese by a translator and two researchers with expertise in Psychology and in the translation of scientific texts. The final version of the translated scale was administered to 120 participants of the general population, with ages between 18 and 83 years old. Results and Conclusions: Overall, the results showed revealed that the scale has good psychometric properties (high internal consistency and convergent validity). The LPDDS is a sound measure that can useful for further research on the stigma regarding individuals with severe psychopathology, as well as in the evaluation and and define specific strategies for interventions aimed at reducing the stigmatization of the mentally ill.
