Quantum dots (QDs) are nanocrystals of a semiconductor material that exist in a size regime less than 10 nm. QDs have become promising nanoparticles for a wide variety of different applications. However, the major drawback of QDs is their potential toxicity. This review reports on some recent methods for the synthesis of QDs and explores their properties, structures, applications, and toxicity. QDs are extraordinary because their minute size produces a physically confined electron cloud, an effect known as the quantum confinement. Certainly, because of their special properties as they had a great unique optical, electronic, and chemical properties that were not observe in other materials. These unique properties of the QD are an attractive material for a variety of scientific and commercial applications, most of them recently been realized, such as biosensors, bioimaging, photodetectors, displays, solar cells, wastewater treatment, and quantum computers. Finally, but not the end, an interesting potential QD application in future perspectives will expect as light-emitting diode products, biomedical applications, and Li-Fi.

Complexes of the type [ML'L(OH)(H2O)] {where M= Ni(II), Co(II) or Mn(II), L'= isatin and HL= 3-(2-phenylhydrazono)acetylacetone, 3-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)hydrazono)acetylacetone or 3-(2-(4-bromophenyl)hydrazono)-acetylacetone} have been synthesized by equimolar reaction of a metal(II) chloride with isatin and 3-(2-(aryl)hydrazono)acetylacetone. The resulting complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivity, spectral data (IR, 1H NMR, mass) and magnetic moments. Furthermore, the ligands and their metal complexes have been screened for their cytotoxicity against different human cancer cell lines by using SRB assay. The results showed that most of the mixed ligand metal complexes have high cytotoxicity in comparison with the reference drugs used.

The aim of this search, is to introduce some notions of fuzzy soft ℳ hyponormal operator defined on fuzzy soft Hilbart space, denoted by fsmh-operator,also some important properties of this operator, as well as discussion for some theorems related to this operator, also in this paper we investigate another generalized of some types of hyponormal operator which as soft fuzzy soft ℳ hyponormal operator, shortly (sfsmh - operator and some theorems of operations about this concepts have been given. Thiosemicarbazone ligand, 2-((4,9-dimethoxy-5-oxo-5H-furo[3,2-g]chromen-6-yl)methylene) hydrazinecarbothioamide and its Cd(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), Co(II), VO(II), and Mn(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by various spectroscopic and analytical techniques. Complexes molar conductance measurements displayed that all complexes (2-8) are non-electrolyte. With general composition [M(H3L)(CH3COO)2H2O].nH2O, where M = Cd(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Mn(II) while complex (8) has [VO(H3L)(SO4)H2O].2H2O formula. Based on analytical and spectral measurements, the octahedral or distorted octahedral geometries suggested for complexes. Ligand and complexes anti-proliferative activities were assessed against three various human tumor cell lines including breast cancer (MCF-7), liver cancer (HepG2) and lung cancer (A549) using SRB fluorometric assay and cis-platin as positive control. The anti-proliferative activity result indicated that the ligand and its complexes have considerable anti-proliferative activity analogous to that of ordinarily utilized anti-cancer drug (cis-platin). They do their anti-cancer activities by modifying free radical's generation via raising the superoxide dismutase activity and depletion of intracellular reduced glutathione level, catalase, glutathione peroxidase activities, escorted by highly generation of hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide and other free radicals leading to tumor cells death, as monitoring by decreasing the protein and nucleic acids synthesis. Complexes of VO2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ ethyl‐6‐ethyl‐2‐((2‐hydroxybenzylidene)amino)‐4,5,6,7‐tetrahydrothieno[2,3‐c]pyridine‐3‐carboxylate were synthesized and characterized via different spectroscopic techniques. The whole results declared that the complexes assembled in 1:1 mole ratio furthermore, the spectroscopic data analysis proved the present ligand adhered to the different metal ions in neutral or monobasic tridentate ligand via azomethine nitrogen, carbonyl oxygen atoms and protonated/deprotonated phenolic hydroxyl group. The UV–Vis. and ESR spectroscopic data analysis proposed a distorted octahedral or octahedral structure for all complexes. The ESR spectra for Cu2+ complexes (5–6) revealed an axial symmetry with g‖ > g┴ > ge, denoting to distorted octahedral Cu2+ complex and the free electrons in the M shell exist in a d(x2‐y2) orbital with a remarkable covalent bond aspect. The synthesized complexes showed moderate to superb fungicide activity. All complexes are more active than both standard drug and ligand against C. albicans where complexes (5–7) are more active against A. flavus and compounds (1), (4–5), (7) against S. cerevisiae whereas only complex (6) is more active against A niger.
