Background: The Functional Arm Scale for Throwers (FAST) is a reliable and valid region-specific tool designed to evaluate health-related quality of life in throwing athletes with upper-extremity injuries. The purpose of this study was to adapt, translate, and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Functional Arm Scale (FAST-Persian) for use in throwing athletes. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted based on 5 steps of cross-cultural adaptation including forward translation, synthesis, backward translation, expert committee review, and pretesting. The final Persian questionnaire, along with Persian versions of Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand and Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic questionnaires, was completed by 177 throwing athletes for validity analysis. After 7 to 14 days, the FAST-Persian was reanswered by 80 throwers, who had no changes in this time interval. Internal consistency and test retest reliability were used to evaluate reliability of the questionnaire. Standard error of measurement and smallest detectable changes were also calculated. Construct validity was determined by correlational analysis with Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand and Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic questionnaires. Dimensionality was evaluated with factor analysis. Result: Cronbachs alpha was.99, and the interclass correlation coefficient levels for total score and 5 subscales of the FAST-Persian ranged between.98 and.99. The standard error of measurement and smallest detectable changes were 3.17 and 8.80, respectively. The FAST-Persian had a high correlation with Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (r =.98, P <.0001) and Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic (r =.98, P <.0001) scores. Factor analysis revealed one factor with a total variance of 75.23%. With the continuous construction of high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission projects, higher requirements are placed on the frequency security of the regional power systems. In order to ensure the frequency security of regional power systems, this paper proposes a transient frequency analytical method considering the emergency frequency control (EFC). Firstly, the aggregated system frequency response (SFR) model is constructed by reducing the order of the generator governor equation, the EFC equation, and the load model equation. Then, based on the aggregation model, the analytical solution of the transient frequency nadir of the regional power system is derived. The model can quickly and accurately calculate the transient frequency nadir of the regional power system considering EFC after the HVDC block fault. Remarkable characteristics like simple structure, high starting torque, simple maintenance, good efficiency at all speeds and cost-effectiveness have made switched reluctance machines (SRMs) suitable candidates for electric cars, electric bicycles and variable speed applications (VSAs) such as wind turbines. In this paper, a three-phase Outer-Rotor SRM (ORSRM) with 6 stator poles and 10 rotor poles (6/10) for VSA has been investigated. Unlike conventional SRM structures such as 6/4 and 12/8, an SRM model with higher number of rotor poles can reduce torque ripple much more effective than conventional SRMs. First, the SRM design is done accurately, then, by changing some parameters, the sensitivity analysis is performed on torque ripple and average torque. Finally, the optimisation process on the geometry and structural dimensions of the SRM like rotor pole arc, stator pole arc, rotor yoke thickness, rotor pole height, rotor diameter and the number of turns per phase are executed to minimise the torque ripple and maximise the average torque via genetic algorithm (GA). The initial design, optimisation and performance of the proposed model are validated via a 2-D finite element method (FEM) technique by ANSYS-Maxwell. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
