When partial discharge occurs within transformers， the pulse current signal propagates along the winding. Detecting this pulse current signal at both ends of the winding enables the identification of partial discharge within the transformer. To this end， a wideband equivalent circuit model for the transformer is established. In high-voltage windings where partial discharges are likely to occur， partial discharge pulses are applied between different wound disks and the ground to simulate the discharge to the ground at different locations of the high-voltage winding. Pulse current signals are then collected at the end screen of the high-voltage casing and at the neutral point to study the propagation rules of the partial discharge pulse current signal at different locations within the transformer windings. Through calculations， it is observed that the energy ratios of pulse current signals in two distinct frequency bands are linearly correlated with the distance ratio of pulse current propagation， and the maximum error observed in this context is 9.80 wound disks. This method facilitates localization of partial discharge within the transformer， and the results of field experiment subsequently validate the effectiveness of this localization technique.

Partial dampness is the initial stage in the bushing damp process,so the effective diagnosis of partial dampness can avoid the further development of the damp. The partial damp diagnosis method of bushing based on the frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS) is proposed in this paper. Firstly,oil-paper insulation samples with different moisture content are prepared,and partial damped samples are formed through combination. Then the FDS characteristics are obtained. The results show that partial distribution of moisture leads to oil-paper insulation interfaces with different moisture content,and the interface relaxation polarization loss peak is introduced in the FDS curves. The greater the degree of partial dampness in the radial direction,the greater the amplitude of the loss peak,and it moves to the high frequency direction. The effectiveness of the diagnosis of partial dampness of bushing based on the characteristics of the interface relaxation polarization loss peak is verified by the simulation model of the transformer bushing. It shows that a new method for early fault warning and diagnosis of the transformer bushing is provided.

Cellulose insulating paper is widely used in the power industry for its good electrical insulating properties. Moisture sharply increases its conductivity, which directly leads to the weakening of insulation performance and greatly increases the risk of subsequent electric field distortion and insulation breakdown. This paper focuses on the microscopic mechanism of moisture changing the characteristics of charge transport in cellulose insulation and attempts to reveal the related conductivity mechanism. To achieve this purpose, microscopic and macroscopic perspectives are integrated and several simulation and experimental methods are utilized comprehensively. The molecular dynamics simulation results showed that most water molecules in damped cellulose were individually and uniformly adsorbed on the hydroxyl groups by hydrogen bond, and the quantum chemistry computation results showed that the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital more appeared on the water molecule and the corresponding density of state increased. Then, experimentally, it was confirmed that the trap energy level decreased by the thermally stimulated current method. On this basis, the promotion effect of moisture on charge transport is predicted and verified by polarization and depolarization current methods. As the moisture content increased, more charge carriers escaped from the trap by hopping and participated in long-range continuous charge motion. Therefore, after dampness, the current of cellulose insulating paper increased exponentially with the increase in electric field strength, which was consistent with the hopping conductivity mechanism. Moisture ingress is one of the major causes of aging in oil–paper insulated transformers; the measurement of the moisture content of the insulating material is thus necessary during transformer disassembly for maintenance. One critical engineering consideration is the need for rapid and nondestructive moisture content measurement of the oil–paper insulation to minimize the power-outage time. Herein, a rapid characterization method for the moisture content of oil–paper insulation based on the dielectric response obtained using a microstrip petal-like ring resonator (MPRR) is proposed. The geometric parameters of the resonator and dielectric response model were established based on simulations and theoretical analysis. The geometry of the resonant ring was optimized by modifying the originally circular ring structure of the microstrip ring resonator (MRR) into a petal-like ring structure; this increases the number of resonant peaks from five to seven in the frequency range of 0.5–6.0 GHz for the same electrode area. The effects of the coupling mode, coupling gap, and microstrip ring size on the resonance characteristics of the MPRR were simulated and analyzed. Compared with the MRR, the MPRR has the advantages of a reduced fundamental resonant frequency and a smaller resonant-ring area that improves radiation efficiency. The impact of moisture content on the dielectric response of the pressboard obtained using the MPRR was studied. A moisture-calculation equation based on the measured dielectric response for a selected type of pressboard was established by the Lasso regression. Effect of electric field on turbulent premixed flame structure and turbulent burning velocity is investigated through OH-PLIF technique. The ring-plate electrode configuration is used, which the ring electrode is high potential. Flame front structure and turbulent burning velocity are derived to estimate the effect of electric field on turbulent flame. Results show that electric field has similar effects compared with turbulence to some extent in this experiment, which could increase flame volume, turbulent burning velocity and decrease the flame surface density. But there are still substantial distinctions in detail. The perturbation induced by turbulence is the vortex, while that induced by electric field is the directional flow, and it can be verified through the PDF distribution of flame curvature with/without electric field. Effect of electric field is a local effect because it is dependent on the distribution of charged species. The research indicates electric field-assisted combustion is mitigated by the turbulence to some extent, and it may hinder the utilization of electric field at practical application for combustion enhancement, but other aspects need further researches. Two reasons are proposed to explain the mitigation of turbulence. Firstly, the response of turbulent burning velocity to the same perturbation decreases with turbulence intensity. Effect of DC electric field on lean premixed biogas turbulent flame structure at low and medium turbulence intensity was studied experimentally using OH-PLIF. OH signal distribution, turbulent burning velocity and flame structure geometric parameters were derived. Results show that downward electric field could broaden the downstream burned gas and push the flame tip down. The flame base is closer to the burner rim in downward electric field for the modification of thermal diffusion and flow modification caused by ionic wind. The effect on flame tip height reduction is more obvious for biogas flame with a higher CO2 ratio. According to the flame structure analysis, the turbulent burning velocity of biogas is increased slightly due to the modification of flow field by ionic wind generated by downward electric field, and the increment decreases with the increase of turbulence intensity. In addition, there's a decrease in mean flame surface density and an increase in centerline flame brush thickness. The flame surface curvature PDF distribution is nearly not affected by the application of DC electric field. For turbulent flames, the effect of electric field is non-uniform and inconstant, which induces extra flow perturbation. This perturbation is different from turbulence, and the combined effects lead to the variation of flame structure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
