Several factors contribute to the aging process, including cellular senescence and oxidative stress.Methods: We investigate how Arthrospira platensis Nanoparticles (NSP) protect against aging injury induced by d-galactose (D-gal) in the rat. So, we subcutaneously (S/C) injected D-gal at 200 mg/kg BW to see if Arthrospira platensis Nanoparticles (NSP) might protect against the oxidative changes generated by D-gal. NSP (0.5 mg/kg body weight once daily by gastric gavage) was given to all groups apart from the control and D-gal groups. The d-gal + NSP group was supplemented with 200 mg of D-gal per kg BW once a day and NSP 0.5 mg/kg BW given orally for 45 days. Biochemical, mRNA expression, and histological investigations of brain tissues were used to evaluate the oxidative alterations caused by d-gal and the protective role of NSP.Results: Our data demonstrated that d-gal was causing significant reductions in relative brain and body weight with increased malondialdehyde (MDA) and redox oxygen species (ROS) levels and increases in serum creatine phosphokinase (CPK) and creatine phosphokinase isoenzyme BB (CPK-BB) with marked decreases in the level of antioxidant enzyme activity in the brain and acetylcholinesterase activity augmented with a phosphorylated H2A histone family member X (γ-H2AX) level increased. The D-gal group had considerably higher phosphorylated p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (P38MAPK) and C-Jun N-terminal (JNK) kinases. The d-gal administration stimulates the apoptotic gene expression by downregulating the brain superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and nuclear factor erythroid 2–related factor 2 (Nrf2). The NSP administration saved these parameters in the direction of the control. The brain histopathologic and immunohistochemistry analysis findings support our findings on NSP’s protective role.Conclusion: The NSP may be a promising natural protective compound that can prevent aging and preserve health.Keywords: aging, antioxidants, MAPK, Nrf2, oxidative stress

The low yield of fourth grade students learn science SD Negeri 004 Tembilahan this is the background of this research, this is evidenced by the acquisition of the average student learning outcomes that is equal to 63.31. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of the method of administration tasks. This research is a classroom action research subjects fourth graders SD Negeri 004 Tembilahan by the number of 32 students, the study was conducted as much as two cycles consisting of two meetings. The data used in this study focuses on improving learning outcomes and student learning completeness. Based on the results obtained under the data science learning outcomes increased in each cycle, the pre-cycle (basic score) average learning results obtained by the students was 63.31 by the number of students who completed by 16 (50.00%), in cycle I rise to 70.31 by the number of students who pass the number 25 (78.12%), and the second cycle increased to 73.59 by the number of students who completed totaling 32 students. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the method of administration tasks can improve student learning outcomes IPA IV SD Negeri 004 Tembilahan.

Background: Uterine activity (UA) monitoring is an essential element of pregnancy management. The gold-standard intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) is invasive and requires ruptured membranes, while the standard-of-care, external tocodynamometry (TOCO)’s accuracy is hampered by obesity, maternal movements, and belt positioning. There is an urgent need to develop telehealth tools enabling patients to remotely access care. Here, we describe and demonstrate a novel algorithm enabling remote, non-invasive detection and monitoring of UA by analyzing the modulation of the maternal electrocardiographic and phonocardiographic signals. The algorithm was designed and implemented as part of a wireless, FDA-cleared device designed for remote pregnancy monitoring. Two separate prospective, comparative, open-label, multi-center studies were conducted to test this algorithm.Methods: In the intrapartum study, 41 laboring women were simultaneously monitored with IUPC and the remote pregnancy monitoring device. Ten patients were also monitored with TOCO. In the antepartum study, 147 pregnant women were simultaneously monitored with TOCO and the remote pregnancy monitoring device.Results: In the intrapartum study, the remote pregnancy monitoring device and TOCO had sensitivities of 89.8 and 38.5%, respectively, and false discovery rates (FDRs) of 8.6 and 1.9%, respectively. In the antepartum study, a direct comparison of the remote pregnancy monitoring device to TOCO yielded a sensitivity of 94% and FDR of 31.1%. This high FDR is likely related to the low sensitivity of TOCO.Conclusion: UA monitoring via the new algorithm embedded in the remote pregnancy monitoring device is accurate and reliable and more precise than TOCO standard of care. Together with the previously reported remote fetal heart rate monitoring capabilities, this novel method for UA detection expands the remote pregnancy monitoring device’s capabilities to include surveillance, such as non-stress tests, greatly benefiting women and providers seeking telehealth solutions for pregnancy care.

Ultraviolet radiation (UV) is a major abiotic stress resulting in relative short duration of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) biopesticides in the field, which is expected to be solved by formation of Bt biofilm with higher UV resistance. Therefore, one of the important prerequisite works is to clarify the functions of biofilm-associated genes on biofilm formation and UV resistance of Bt. In this study, comparative genomics and bioinformatic analysis indicated that BTXL6_19475 gene involved in biofilm formation of Bt XL6 was likely to encode a galactose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase (GalT, E.C. 2.7.7.12). Heterologous expression of the BTXL6_19475 gene in Escherichia coli and detection of its GalT enzyme activity in vitro proved that the gene did encode GalT. Comparing the wild type Bt strain XL6 with galT gene knockout mutant Bt XL6ΔgalT and its complementary strain Bt XL6ΔgalT::19,475, GalT promoted the biofilm formation and enhanced the UV-B resistance of Bt XL6 likely by increasing its D-ribose production and reducing its alanine aryldamidase activity. GalT did not affect the growth and the cell motility of Bt XL6. A regulation map had been proposed to elucidate how GalT promoted biofilm formation and enhanced UV-B resistance of Bt XL6 by the cross-talk between Leloir pathway, Embden-Meyerhof glycolysis pathway and pentose phosphate pathway. Our finding provides a theoretical basis for the efficient use of biofilm genes to improve the UV resistance of Bt biofilms and thus extend field duration of Bt formulations based on biofilm engineering., Competing Interests: Declarations Competing interests The authors declare no competing interests., (© 2024. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a dysmetabolic disease characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. In the developed countries, DM is the commonest life style disease that affects both old and young age. Nod-like receptor protein-3 (NLRP3)-mediated pyroptosis may in fact aid in the development of diabetic complications. Quercetin is a natural flavonoid, can be present in natural foods and plants. Many studies have reported the antioxidant role of quercetin on different tissues, but its effects on NLRP3-mediated pyroptosis in diabetic lung are unclear. The current study aimed to assess quercetin's protective effects on lung function, oxidative stress, and NLRP3-mediated pyroptosis in Wister rats exposed to streptozotocin (STZ)-induced DM. Forty male Wister rats were randomly allocated into four equal groups. The groups of rats were as follows: group 1 (G1) was kept under normal control conditions; G2 was injected I/P quercetin at a dose of 30 mg/kg b.wt., daily for 30 days; G3 and G4 were injected with a single dose of streptozotocin (STZ) 50 mg/kg b.wt. I/P to induce DM. After 72-h post diabetes induction, the rats of G4 were treated with quercetin as a manner in the second group. The results showed that quercetin ameliorates the pulmonary dysfunctions caused by DM through restoring the levels of glucose, insulin, and arterial blood gases, as well as the oxidative markers. Also, NLRP3-pyroptosis-mediated IL1β was inhibited. Quercetin also reduces the effect of DM on the lung by decreasing the pathological changes in the lung. In conclusion, NLRP3 inflammasome-induced pyroptosis may aggravate lung injury in diabetic rats. Background: Cerium oxide nanoparticles (C e O 2 NPs) have gained their importance as engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) that have wide applications as catalysts in industry, which direct to their prominent occurrence in natural and engineered water systems. In wastewater treatment plants, C e O 2 NPs can stay colloidally stable and be unconstrained in the secondary effluents. As they entered into tertiary treatment, such as advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), it is noteworthy that how the generated reactive oxygen species will change the colloidal stability, aggregation, and the surface chemistry of C e O 2 NPs., Aim and Objective: The study was aimed to analyze the chemical graph of the crystal structure of Ceria Oxide(cuprite) C e O 2 . Also, our main objective is to compute the Heat of Formation and Entropy using degree based topological indices., Materials and Methods: Chemical graph theory plays an important role in modeling and designing any chemical structure. The topological indices are the numerical invariants of a molecular graph and are very useful for predicting their physical properties. For calculation, we have utilized the combinatorial processing strategy, edge partition technique, vertex partition strategy, analytic procedures, graph hypothetical tools, degree counting technique and entirety of degrees of neighbor technique. Moreover, Matlab programming has been utilized for numerical computations and checks. We likewise utilized the maple for plotting these numerical outcomes., Results: We have computed Heat of Formation and Entropy using degree based topological indices. Our main results are based on some degree based topological indices, namely, the atom bond connectivity index ABC, geometric arithmetic index GA, general Randi index, Forgotten index, Augmented zagreb index and Balban index for the chemical graph of the crystal structure of cuprite C e O 2 [p, q, t] We also provide a detailed application of the computed results., Conclusion: We discuss these indices exhibited difference with the reported heat of formation and entropy of cuprite C e O 2 [p, q, t] In almost all the cases, an exponential increase of aforementioned indices is observed with the increase in the number of cells or other words size of cuprite C e O 2 [p, q, t] nanocrystal. A topological descriptor is a mathematical illustration of a molecular construction that relates particular physicochemical properties of primary molecular structure as well as its mathematical depiction. Topological co-indices are usually applied for quantitative structure action relationships (QSAR) and quantitative structure property relationships (QSPR). Topological co-indices are topological descriptor which consider the noncontiguous vertex set. In this study, we studyied some of the accompanied renowned topological co-indices: the 1st and 2nd Zagreb co-indices, the 1st and 2nd multiplicative Zagreb co-indices, and the F-coindex. Insect and mite pests are damaging stressors that are threatening the cultivation of tea plants, which result in enormous crop loss. Over the years, the effectiveness of synthetic pesticides has allowed for its prominent application as a control strategy. However, the adverse effects of synthetic pesticides in terms of pesticide residue, environmental contamination and insect pest resistance have necessitated the need for alternative strategies. Meanwhile, microbial pesticides have been applied to tackle the damaging activities of the insect and mite pests of tea plants, and their performances were scientifically adjudged appreciable and environmental friendly. Herein, entomopathogenic microbes that were effective against tea geometrid (Ectropis obliqua Prout), tea green leafhopper (Empoasca onukii Matsuda), paraguay tea ampul (Gyropsylla spegazziniana), tea mosquito bug (Helopeltis theivora Waterhouse) and red spider mite (Oligonychus coffea Nietner) have been reviewed. The current findings revealed that microbial pesticides were effective and showed promising performances against these pests. Overall, this review has provided the basic and integrative information on the integrated pest management (IPM) tool(s) that can be utilized towards successful control of the aforementioned insect and mite pests.

Bacterial biofilms are complex surface attached communities of bacteria held together by self-produced polymer matrixs mainly composed of polysaccharides, secreted proteins, and extracellular DNAs. Bacterial biofilm formation is a complex process and can be described in five main phases: (i) reversible attachment phase, where bacteria non-specifically attach to surfaces; (ii) irreversible attachment phase, which involves interaction between bacterial cells and a surface using bacterial adhesins such as fimbriae and lipopolysaccharide (LPS); (iii) production of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) by the resident bacterial cells; (iv) biofilm maturation phase, in which bacterial cells synthesize and release signaling molecules to sense the presence of each other, conducing to the formation of microcolony and maturation of biofilms; and (v) dispersal/detachment phase, where the bacterial cells depart biofilms and comeback to independent planktonic lifestyle. Biofilm formation is detrimental in healthcare, drinking water distribution systems, food, and marine industries, etc. As a result, current studies have been focused toward control and prevention of biofilms. In an effort to get rid of harmful biofilms, various techniques and approaches have been employed that interfere with bacterial attachment, bacterial communication systems (quorum sensing, QS), and biofilm matrixs. Biofilms, however, also offer beneficial roles in a variety of fields including applications in plant protection, bioremediation, wastewater treatment, and corrosion inhibition amongst others. Development of beneficial biofilms can be promoted through manipulation of adhesion surfaces, QS and environmental conditions. This review describes the events involved in bacterial biofilm formation, lists the negative and positive aspects associated with bacterial biofilms, elaborates the main strategies currently used to regulate establishment of harmful bacterial biofilms as well as certain strategies employed to encourage formation of beneficial bacterial biofilms, and highlights the future perspectives of bacterial biofilms., (Copyright © 2020 Muhammad, Idris, Fan, Guo, Yu, Jin, Qiu, Guan and Huang.)

Background & Aim: Dyslipidaemia is highly prevalent among postmenopausal women and its management represents a keystone in the prevention of the worldwide increase in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Therapy choices for menopause-associated dyslipidaemia are limited and a matter of debate. So, it becomes prudent to search for natural safe alternatives. Vitamin D (VD) has been acknowledged as an essential factor in cardiovascular health. Thus, we aimed to illustrate the impact of different VD status on dyslipidaemia and atherogenic indices., Method: 5 groups of rats were conducted; SHAM group fed control diet, ovariectomized rats fed control diet (OVX), ovariectomized rats fed VD-sufficient-high fat diet (HFD) (1 000 IU/ kg diet), ovariectomized rats fed VD-deficient-HFD (25 IU/ kg diet), and ovariectomized rats fed VD-replete-HFD (10 000 IU/ kg diet) for 16 weeks., Results: Dyslipidaemia with an increased atherogenic index of plasma, atherosclerosis coefficient, cardiac risk ratio, and aortic total cholesterol accumulation in addition to reduced serum 25-hydroxy-VD levels was observed in the OVX and VD-sufficient HFD versus SHAM. These findings were aggravated by VD-deficient-HFD while reversed by VD-replete-HFD. The VD-mediated abundance of aortic ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) expression, reduced activity of the inflammatory Jun N-terminal kinases (JNK), and downregulation of aortic cluster of differentiation-36 (CD36) receptors expression together with increased serum total antioxidant capacity and reduced serum malondialdehyde were among the supposed mechanisms., Conclusions: Our study sheds light on alarming levels of VD deficiency among ovariectomized rats. Dendrimers are large and complex molecules with very well defined chemical structures. More importantly, dendrimers are highly branched organic macromolecules with successive layers or generations of branch units surrounding a central core. Topological indices are numbers associated with molecular graphs for the purpose of allowing quantitative structure-activity relationships. These topological indices correlate certain physico-chemical properties such as the boiling point, stability, strain energy, and others, of chemical compounds. In this article, we determine hyper-Zagreb index, first multiple Zagreb index, second multiple Zagreb index, and Zagreb polynomials for hetrofunctional dendrimers, triangular benzenoids, and nanocones.

Mitochondrial dysfunction and decreased mitochondrial content are hallmarks of aging that leads to decreased physical endurance. Our aim was to explore the anti-aging effect of resveratrol (RSVT) supplementation, a polyphenol, and/or exercise training, started at an older age, on improving physical activity, therefore, help in frailty avoidance and promotion of healthy aging in elderly. Eighteen-month-old aged mice received RSVT (15 mg/kg/day) and/or exercise trained for 4 weeks showed significant longer time to exhaustion with decreased blood lactate and free fatty acids levels associated with improved oxidative stress evidenced by decreased gastrocnemius muscle lipid peroxidation and increased antioxidant enzymes activities, catalase and superoxide dismutase, when compared to aged mice control group. These changes were accompanied by over-expression of skeletal muscle peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) mRNA, the master regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis, and increased muscle citrate synthase activity, a marker for mitochondrial function. These findings may provide evidence for improved physical endurance by RSVT supplementation or exercise training with better results of their combination, even at an older age, through increasing mitochondrial biogenesis and function. Increased muscle PGC-1α mRNA expression and citrate synthase enzyme activity in addition to improved aging-associated oxidative damage were among the mechanisms involved in this protection.
