This article applies Linguistic Criticism tools (Fowler, 1981) as methodological framework for interpreting narratological devices in fiction pointing out the relationship between the perspective of the narrator and the character. Fragments from a Kosovan contemporary novel by Mehmet Kraja (2005) are analysed focusing on the non-intrusive narration and the internal perspectivism of the literary text. Linguistic markers such as: transitivity, representation of actions, events and states and the presentation of speech and thought are used to examine the mind style of the character when he goes through physical actions, perceptions, emotions and mental experiences. The study shows that the linguistic choices correlate throughout the novel and create the discrepancy between the elaborated code of transmitting faithfully the interior world of the character on one side and the mechanical unwilling actions of this character on the other side. This contrast produces the ironical reading of a specific historical period in communist Albania and former Yugoslavia.

This study discusses the role of stylistic analysis in the development of critical language awareness (CLA) which is crucial for assessing ideologies transmitted in discourse. The Critical Stylistic approach is used to compare narrative strategies in fiction and non-fiction: in Ishiguro's novel "The Buried Giant" (2015) and in Wolff's book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" (2018) by using analytical tools such as transitivity, participants, actions and processes, vocabulary, syntax, modality, generics, personal pronouns, speech acts. Considering ambiguous approaches to the issue of truth in mass media when hundreds of fact-checking sites are telling people how to separate 'true meaning' from 'fake meaning', this study argues that the linguistic approach to narratives can foster critical thinking by helping readers understand the interpretative nature of the meaning of the text. In the light of contemporary literary strategies, literature is affirmed as mode of 'truth' in the sense of an increased self-knowledge and insight on the part of the reader who carries out interpretation as opening up to the text in relation to multiple meanings. The stylistic approach towards narrative strategies is pointed out as prevention of prescriptive and dogmatic readings and as encouragement for critical literacy.

This paper discusses the concept of panoptical narration based on the idea of Foucault about panopticon which is this case is applied in the teaching of literature. Comparably to the scheme of the disciplined society envisaged by Foucault, where people are observed by a powerful guard that remains invisible himself, this concept is applied to the relations between narrators and fictional character. This kind of Foucauldian reading of the novel has been in particular applied to the writers belonging to realism, whose works have been qualified as panoptical (Dorrit Cohn, 1999). This paper proposes the usage of the concept of panoptical narration as a strategy for teaching literature in order to challenge students for opened and liberated interpretations of meaning. The paper argues that the pedagogical stylistic by means of linguistic analysis of narrative strategies avoids prescriptive readings and encourages students to sharpen their critical thinking skills. In this paper, we have a tendency to vindicate the importance of using literature in foreign language learning, respectively English as foreign language learning, as a material which would kindle productive skills of speaking and writing and receptive skills of reading and listening. Not being the supporter of all-literary text English language courses, we state the benefits of the literature to language learning. We cannot overlook the fact that there is a lack of experience and material for promoting the literature in language curriculums and the rareness of this method can be one other element intimidating, thus, disheartening for the wide range of teachers. The dichotomy of the category of teachers who support the inclusion of literature in foreign language learning and those who oppose it, make this method tap in one place and create more discussion on its suitability and practicality than a factual application of the same. We can similarly encounter aloofness from the students who are likewise not used to the presence of literature in ELT. Nevertheless, taking into consideration affluent linguistic contribution and communication provoking nature, we believe that it is the teacher who should bear the load of using resources which would make students spirited and eager in literature usage. Folklore researches in Turkey, by its nature were also interested the traditional culture of the other Turkish communities that lives outside of Anatolia. Balkans constitutes an important area of Turkish geography also Turkish communities living there just like other Turkish communities are interests of folklore studies in Turkey. Turkey Turcology achieves information about languages and cultures of Turkish communities living within in the former Yugoslavia by Turkish origin researches that grew up in this country. Also has been become reachable direct to the language and culture with the disintegration of Yugoslavia. Kosovo Turkish folk culture has an important place in Turkish folklore studies that deals with traditional culture of Balkan's Turks. In this study, we focused on issue, scope, methods and results of Kosovo Turkish traditional culture in the place of Turkish folklore studies. In the article, the studies were based until 2013. This study considers the current status of the work on limited number that take issues from this methods. After the examinations studies of Kosovo Turkish traditional culture in Turkey focused on Kosovo Turk's proverb, idioms, legend, tales, folk tale, riddle, tongue twister, traditional folk poetry, beliefs and practice regarding the transition period, ritual, seasonal application, folk beliefs, mystical worldviews, material culture, names was identify. The wedding ceremonies, as well as the birth and death ceremonies are accompanied with many beliefs and practices. This beliefs and practices are particularly significant in terms of displaying the mythic perceptions. At this point, both partners ("the bride" and "the groom") pass to another status in their life. These kind of reasons made "passing the threshold" obligatory. "The threshold" and "passing the threshold" has a particular importance for the bride, who leaves her family home, and goes to groom's/husband's home as a foreigner, respectively the other. In the Turkish weddings, the groom passes the threshold together with the bride. Moreover, the bride and the groom enter the home with prayers and various practices as a sign of their joint life as a husband and wife. This study aims to reveal the place of the threshold, in the wedding belief and practices of the Kosovo Turks. The perceived beliefs and practices are sporadically compared to the beliefs of Anatolia Turks. We used data gained from the oral and writtens ources. We came to the conclusion that "the threshold" and "passing the threshold" has a significant place and function in the Kosovo Turks' wedding ceremonies, moreover, its importance is passed to the present modern age.
