Sediment adsorption is one of the main environmental fates of neonicotinoids (NEOs) in aquatic environments. Little information is available on for the adsorption characteristics of NEOs on urban stream sediments. In this study, urban tidal stream sediments were collected to determine the adsorption properties of four selected NEOs. The influence of environmental factors on NEO adsorption was determined by the RSM-CCD method. The NEO adsorption rates on sediments were established by multiple regression equations. As a result, the adsorption of four NEOs onto sediments fitted a linear isotherm model. The adsorption amounts of thiacloprid (THA), clothianidin (CLO), acetamiprid (ACE), and imidacloprid (IMI) were 1.68 to 2.24, 1.71 to 2.89, 1.88 to 3.07, and 2.23 to 3.16 mg/kg, respectively. The adsorption processes of four NEOs on urban sediments were favorable. Moreover, adsorption behaviors of NEOs were typical physical adsorption and readily adsorbed onto urban sediments. The adsorption processes of NEOs were exothermic reactions, and their adsorption rates decreased with increasing pH. Flow rates and organic matter contents could promote the adsorption ratios of typical NEOs. Multiple linear regression was used to assess the relationships between the adsorption rates of NEOs and environmental factors. The p-values of the fitting equations of adsorption rates were all less than 0.05. Within the ranges of concentration of the investigated factors, the multiple regression equations were able to reasonably model and predict the sorption of typical NEOs onto urban stream sediments. Therefore, the adsorption rate equations effectively predicted the NEO adsorption performance of urban streams and were helpful for controlling risk assessment of NEOs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
A series of laboratory load tests were carried out to investigate the effect of geometrical dimensions of a handmade geocell on the ultimate bearing capacity of geocell-reinforced sand beds. The parameters considered in the study include the geocell placement depth from the base of the footing (u), equivalent diameter of geocell pocket (d), height of geocell reinforcement (h), width of geocell reinforcement (b) and relative density of the sand (D
r ). A multiple regression equation was developed by analysing the experimental results for estimating the ultimate bearing capacity of the reinforced sand bed. The equation proposed was verified against empirical equation reported by other researchers. The statistical analysis of the model test data shows that the parameters studied have a significant influence on the performance of the footing in terms of its bearing capacity and settlement. The regression equation developed in this investigation is reasonably good in predicting the bearing capacity of a square footing supported on geocell-reinforced sand beds. - Abstract
The spotted scat (Scatophagus argus) is an economically important farm fish species found in Southeast China. Production of all-female spotted scat population with superior growth traits can significantly increase farmer's benefits due to its sexual dimorphism in growth. Herein, the sex ratio and differences in morphometric traits were observed between females and males in a full-sib population of S. argus. Then the correlation between these traits and their effects on body weight (BW) was analyzed. The results showed significant growth differences between males and females. The correlation coefficient between BW and the other 13 traits reached a very significant level, and the strongest correlation was observed in the body height (BH) (male) and body length (BL) (female). In females, BL, body thickness (BT), head length (HL), and BH had a significant and direct effect on BW. The determination coefficients of traits BL, BT, BH, and HL to BW were 0.163, 0.159, 0.057, and 0.018, respectively with the total value being 0.928. In males, the determination coefficients of six traits to BW were 0.124 (BH), 0.192 (BT), 0.053 (BL), 0.018 (OL), 0.0088 (HL), and 0.0092 (PA), with the total value being 0.855. Moreover, two bestfit linear regression equations were constructed in females and males respectively. This knowledge will provide useful and valuable information in better understanding of the differences between both sexes, relationships between morphometric traits, and selective breeding of S.argus. These models might also provide theoretical support for the indirect selection of traits that are difficult to select directly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: At present, the most classic domestic bone age assessment method is the wrist bone, but this method has disadvantages such as poor reproducibility and susceptibility to the level of the assessor, so it is difficult to carry out in most areas. Through the establishment of the cervical vertebra bone age equation, it provides a reference for the development of bone age identification in this area. OBJECTIVE: To explore the application of quantitative indicators to establish the cervical vertebra bone age equation for adolescent male in Hohhot and to provide references for skeletal age identification. METHODS: The thin-slice CT data of 151 normal male adolescents aged 8-16 years with cervical spine were selected and randomly divided into two groups. 111 cases in the first group were used as the data of the bone age prediction equation; 40 cases in the second group were used as the test data of the equation. The two-dimensional and three-dimensional parameters of the cervical spine were measured and analyzed. Multiple linear regression was used to make the bone age equation based on two-dimensional morphological parameters or two-dimensional and three-dimensional morphological parameters. Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between the bone age and the age of life calculated by the regression equation to compare the accuracy of the prediction before and after the introduction of three-dimensional parameters. The protocols were in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and the relevant ethical requirements of the Inner Mongolia Medical University. The subjects and guardians had fully informed consent to the testing and data collection. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The cervical spine age equations based on two-dimensional parameters and two-dimensional and three-dimensional joints were Y=4.454+1.443×D3+0.544×PH4 (D3 is the height of the depression of the lower edge of the C3 vertebral body; PH4 is the height of the posterior edge of the C4 vertebral body); Y=5.422+1.393×D3+0.413×AH3 (AH3 is the height of the anterior edge of the C3 vertebral body). After correlation analysis, the bone age calculated by the two equations was highly correlated with the age of life, and the r values were 0.905 and 0.833, respectively (all P < 0.01). (2) The goodness of fit and prediction accuracy of the bone age equation based on two-dimensional parameters were higher than the bone age equation based on two-dimensional and three-dimensional joint parameters. (3) Results confirmed that through the quantitative index of slice CT, it was found that the height of the lower edge of C3 vertebra and the height of the posterior edge of C4 vertebra were closely related to the bone age of male adolescents in Hohhot area. We previously reported the possibility of using the electrocardiogram variable to estimate blood calcium (Ca) concentration in dairy cows based on the strong positive correlation between the blood Ca concentration and the inverse of the corrected ST peak interval (STc-1). To improve the accuracy of the estimation of blood Ca concentration, we investigated the relationship between blood Ca concentration and STc-1 for each postpartum day and available variables other than STc-1. We measured multiple variables (milk yield, calving number, age, body temperature, etc.), including serum total Ca concentration (tCa), blood ionized Ca concentration (iCa) and STc-1 in 462 Holstein cows on days 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 postpartum. A very high correlation was observed between iCa and tCa. The association between tCa and STc-1 for each postpartum day had a high coefficient of determination of 0.61-0.79 postpartum 0-2 days but decreased after the third day. In the investigation using the data from postpartum days 0-2, STc-1, heart rate interval, calving number, and age were highly correlated with tCa. In addition, a multiple regression equation was obtained with tCa as the objective variable and STc-1 and calving number as explanatory variables. The estimation accuracy was improved as compared with the simple regression equation using only STc-1 as the explanatory variable. This multiple regression equation was used for 11 cows suspected of having hypocalcemia, and it was able to correctly detect cows requiring early treatment, except for one cow. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

When slaughtering and processing poultry, large quantities of meat by-products are generated; therefore, the development of the newest methods for processing secondary raw materials is an urgent problem. Animal proteins have relevant technological applications and are also considered as a potential source of bioactive peptides. Current technologies suggested that protein substances can be isolated from meat co-products through microbial hydrolysis. The purpose of the study was to optimize the technological parameters of microbial hydrolysis of hen combs and to analyze the modification of the microstructure and properties of hydrolyzed by-products under the action of bacterial enzymes. Hen's combs were hydrolyzed by bifidobacteria and concentrated Propionix liquid. A multifactorial experiment was used to determine the optimal conditions for the hydrolysis process. As a result of the study, multiple regression equations and response surfaces were obtained, which describe the process of hydrolysis of hen combs to identify the optimal hydrolysis parameters. Temperature, amount of bacterial concentrate and hydrolysis period are factors that have a significant impact on the degree of hydrolysis. The results of microscopic and dispersed analysis confirm the good hydrolyzability of combs due to changes in structural components and an increase in the amount of smaller protein particles. The necessity to apply probabilistic and statistical methods for evaluation of oil and gas potential of small-size local structures is substantiated. The existing large amount of geological and geophysical data on the characteristics of structures is a good basis to use probabilistic and statistical methods to forecast their oil and gas potential. The paper presents a methodology for predicting the oil and gas potential of local structures by probabilistic and statistical methods on the Pozhvinskiy sector for Tl2-b and Bb reservoirs. Geological and geophysical parameters that control the oil and gas potential of local structures are analyzed. Those parameters are as follows: altitudes on the roof of layers Tl2-b, Bb, net oil-bearing thickness of Tl2-b, Bb, net reservoir thickness Tl2-b, Bb, interval time between reflecting layers 2K-2P – dT2K-2P, interval velocities between layers 2K-2P – V2K-2P, interval time between reflecting layers 3-2K – dT3-2K, interval velocities between layers 3-2K. Informativeness of each parameter was determined on reference sectors with determined oil and gas potential and sectors that have deep wells but oil and gas potential is unknown. To solve the prediction problems, it is necessary to comprehensively take into account all the considered informative parameters considering the contribution of each parameter to the final result. The complex Pcom criterion which estimates the oil and gas potential for a set of parameters was used for that purposes. Oil and gas content is evaluated by the developed method over the entire study area by constructing maps of equal probabilities. Minimum, maximum and average Pcom values for Tl2-b and Bb reservoirs are calculated within the contours of local structures. The work resulted in an evaluation of the oil and gas potential of the structures for Tl2-b and Bb reservoirs. As a result of analysis, it is established that Bezgodovskaya and Ryabovskaya b structures within the Pozhvinskiy sector are the most promising ones in terms of oil and gas potential.

The study aims to test the hypothesis of expansionary austerity in the Egyptian economy, ie to measure the impact of fiscal austerity policies in the Egyptian economy on the growth of the Egyptian economy. To test the validity of this hypothesis, the economic growth equation in the Egyptian economy was estimated. Annual data were used for the period (1980-2017),The single equation model was relied on by using a multiple regression equation for economic growth. The determinants of economic growth that have been used as independent explanatory variables for the model are: private consumption expenditure, private investment spending, government spending in both consumption and consumption, net dealing with the outside world, taxes, The root of the unit was tested to determine the stability of the time series using the Philip Peron test. The results of the Philip Peron test showed that all the time series of real GDP, real private consumption expenditure, real private investment spending, real government spending in both investment and private sectors and net dealing with the outside world and the labour force stable When taking the first differences, either assuming intercept or intercept and trend, at the level of significance of 1%. The study also concluded that expansionary fiscal austerity is not effective in stimulating real GDP in the Egyptian economy. This may be due to the fact that government spending in the Egyptian economy focuses on infrastructure, which reduces the impact of crowding out the government sector to the private sector, in addition to the existence of idle resources. In the Egyptian economy, this means that high government spending is a catalyst for economic growth in the Egyptian economy and hence the ineffectiveness of expansionary policies in the Egyptian economy.

The purpose of this article is to study the methods of constructing maps of geochemical anomalies using geostatistical methods. The example presented in the article shows the possibility of probabilistic determination of gold in strongly overlapped areas (Urup Island, Kuril Islands). On the site of the Kolenchaty Lidinskoye ore field, the gold ore occurrence of the Kolenchaty is known. It is timed to the incision of the river and disappears outside of it. This is due to the strong overlap of the area by Quaternary sediments. Together with the uneven distribution of gold, these circumstances complicate the construction of maps of geochemical anomalies and the identification of promising areas. To solve this problem, the Statistica program was used. With its help, a matrix of correlations was built, elements of the satellites of gold were selected, and a multiple regression equation for gold was drawn up. This equation was used to probabilistically calculate gold values at each sampling point. In ArcGis, Geostatistical Analyst, geochemical anomalies were mapped from the predicted gold value by kriging, and promising areas were highlighted.

There was proposed аsimple method of the correction of systematic error of the equation of multiple regression while calculating biological age. The principle of this method is in the vertical transfer of points on the graph "predicted age -chronologicalage" on a diagonalline. At the same time, the distances from the points to the regression line are maintained. This correction eliminates the systematic error of the multiple regression equation and increases the accuracyof the biological age model.

Background To describe the very early vault changes in the first month after Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) implantation and to evaluate the effect of preoperative biometric factors on vault. Methods Eighty-three eyes from eighty-three subjects with complete data who met follow-up requirements were recruited in this retrospective study between May 2019 and March 2020. We quantitatively assessed the postoperative vault at 2 h, 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month following implantation. Associations between the postoperative vault and age, ICL size, spherical equivalent (SE), axial length (AL), central corneal thickness (CCT), flat keratometry (K), steep K, mean K, anterior chamber depth (ACD), crystalline lens thickness (LT), white-to-white (WTW) diameter obtained by three devices, horizontal and vertical sulcus-to-sulcus (STS) diameter, bright and dark pupil sizes (BPS and DPS) and DPS-BPS were investigated using Spearman’s correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results The mean vault values at 2 h, 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month after ICL implantation were 672.05 ± 30.72, 389.15 ± 28.33, 517.23 ± 30.76 and 530.12 ± 30.22 μm, respectively. Significant differences were found in the vault values at 2 h, 1 day and 1 week after the operation. The ICL size (β = 0.942; p p p p = 0.017), significantly influenced the vault at 1 month after the operation. The multiple regression equation was expressed as follows: central vault (µm) = -1369.05 + 657.121 × ICL size- 287.408 × horizontal STS − 432.497 × crystalline LT − 137.33 × vertical STS (adjusted R2 = 0.643). Conclusions After ICL implantation, the vault decreased and then increased, but it did not return to the vault value 2 h after surgery. The ICL size, horizontal and vertical STS and crystalline LT are key factors for predicting postoperative vaulting.

Every student wants good learning outcomes. Factors that can influence students are initial ability and learning motivation. This research is non-experimental quantitative research. The type of research used is ex-post facto. In this study, there are three variables to be examined. Two independent variables include initial ability (X1) and motivation to learn (X2). While the dependent variable is the learning outcome (Y). The collected data were analyzed by the SPSS 18.0 software application. Furthermore, the Pearson product-moment partial correlation test, multiple linear regression test and multiple correlation tests were carried out. The multiple linear regression equation obtained is y = 9.965 + 0.819 X1 + 0.153 X2. If the initial ability variables (X1) and learning motivation (X2) are constant, the learning outcomes (Y) have increased by 9.965%. If the initial ability (X1) increases by 1% with the assumption that learning motivation (X2) is constant, then learning outcomes (Y) have increased by 8.19%. If the learning motivation (X2) increases by 1% assuming the initial ability (X1) is constant, then there is an increase of 1.53%.

An algorithm is proposed for making charts of the distribution of water vapor in the atmosphere based on multispectral images of the earth by the Ocean and Land Color Instrument (OLCI) on board of the European research satellite Sentinel-3. The algorithm is based on multiple regression fits of the spectral brightness coefficients at the upper boundary of the atmosphere, the geometric parameters of the satellite location (solar and viewing angles), and the total water vapor content in the atmosphere. A regression equation is derived from experimental data on the variation in the optical characteristics of the atmosphere and underlying surface, together with Monte-Carlo calculations of the radiative transfer characteristics. The equation includes the brightness coefficients in the near IR channels of the OLCI for the absorption bands of water vapor and oxygen, as well as for the transparency windows of the atmosphere. Together these make it possible to eliminate the effect of the reflection spectrum of the underlying surface and air pressure on the accuracy of the measurements. The algorithm is tested using data from a prototype OLCI, the medium resolution imaging spectrometer (MERIS). A sample chart of the distribution of water vapor in the atmosphere over Eastern Europe is constructed without using subsatellite data and digital models of the surface relief. The water vapor contents in the atmosphere determined using MERIS images and data provided by earthbound measurements with the aerosol robotic network (AERONET) are compared with a mean square deviation of 1.24 kg/m. Predicting the grass dry matter intake (GDMI), milk yield (MY) or milk fat and protein yield (milk solids yield (MSY)) of the grazing dairy herd is difficult. Decisions with regard to grazing management are based on guesstimates of the GDMI of the herd, yet GDMI is a critical factor influencing MY and MSY. A data set containing animal, sward, grazing management and concentrate supplementation variables recorded during weeks of GDMI measurement was used to develop multiple regression equations to predict GDMI, MY and MSY. The data set contained data from 245 grazing herds from 10 published studies conducted at Teagasc, Moorepark. A forward stepwise multiple regression technique was used to develop the multiple regression equations for each of the dependent variables (GDMI, MY, MSY) for three periods during the grazing season: spring (SP; 5 March to 30 April), summer (SU; 1 May to 31 July) and autumn (AU; 1 August to 31 October). The equations generated highlighted the importance of different variables associated with GDMI, MY and MSY during the grazing season. Peak MY was associated with an increase in GDMI, MY and MSY during the grazing season with the exception of GDMI in SU when BW accounted for more of the variation. A higher body condition score (BCS) at calving was associated with a lower GDMI in SP and SU and a lower MY and MSY in all periods. A higher BCS was associated with a higher GDMI in SP and SU, a higher MY in SU and AU and a higher MSY in all periods. The pre-grazing herbage mass of the sward (PGHM) above 4 cm was associated with a quadratic effect on GDMI in SP, on MY in SP and SU and on MSY in SU. An increase in daily herbage allowance (DHA) above 4 cm was associated with an increase in GDMI in AU, an increase in MY in SU and AU and MSY in AU. Supplementing grazing dairy cows with concentrate reduced GDMI and increased MY and MSY in all periods. The equations generated can be used by the Irish dairy industry during the grazing season to predict the GDMI, MY and MSY of grazing dairy herds.

Abstract The study aims to study the effect of the exchange rate policy in Egypt on the most important balances of the Egyptian balance of payments, namely; the trade balance, the commodity balance and the capital balance (investment). ), to measure the consistency of the results of applying the policies of devaluation of the Egyptian pound on the balance of the external situation of Egypt - which was stimulated and supported by the International Monetary Fund - with what was planned, in terms of supporting the competitiveness of Egyptian exports of goods and services and attracting investments. This is done by testing the hypothesis of a positive relationship between devaluation of the Egyptian currency and improving the status of the commodity trade balance, the service trade balance and the capital balance (investment. The multiple regression equation was used using the OLS method during the period (1980-2019). The study found that there is a positive relationship between the real exchange rate and the deficit of the commodity trade balance, meaning that an increase in the foreign exchange rate of the Egyptian pound leads to an increase in the deficit in this balance, and the negative relationship between the real exchange rate and the service trade balance, as an increase in the exchange rate leads to Due to the decrease in the surplus of the service balance, in addition to the negative impact of the foreign exchange rate on foreign investment flows as well. This indicates the ineffectiveness of the policy of devaluing the Egyptian pound to improve the status of the commodity trade balance, the service trade balance, and the capital transactions balance (foreign investment

Achieving and maintaining optimal fluid status remains a major challenge in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). The aim of this study was to establish a body composition–based multiple regression equation for use in the estimation of overhydration (OH) in the setting of MHD while using a body composition monitor (BCM) to guide patient dry weight management. We initially retrospectively analyzed factors associated with OH in 314 healthy Chinese individuals and obtained a multiple linear regression equation to determine OH level. Next, 49 stable MHD patients were enrolled to validate whether our multiple regression formula was applicable to such patients. Prior to hemodialysis, BCM measurements were performed; OHpre was defined as OH directly measured by BCM; while OHstd was defined as OH estimated by the multiple regression equation. In our multivariate linear regression analysis, PhA (β = − 1.266, 95% CI (− 1.532 ~ − 1.341), p

The main method of obtaining information about the abundance of ticks in the territory of Udmurtia - route method - is discussed in detail. The route method of obtaining information about the epidemiological danger of the territory can be used for any terrain. However, it involves certain complexities, risks and constraints. There is also a method of mapping cases of tick attacks on humans, this method is also applicable to the territory under study. Factors affecting the abundance of ticks in the territory of landscapes have been analyzed. On the basis of the results of the multi-factor analysis, the influence of grass tier density, abundance of brushwood and garbage of anthropogenic origin on the number of ticks was revealed. A map of the epidemic hazard of landscapes has been drawn based on the multiple regression equation. A number of measures have been proposed to correct the morbidity of the population living on the territory of landscapes characterized by the greatest epidemic danger.
