Jamblang fruits (Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels) have the potential as an antioxidant by facilitating glucose and lipid metabolism for reducing the atherogenic index (AI). This study aimed to explore the effect of the Jamblang extract on the atherogenic index in a diabetic rat model. This pre- and post-control group design study was conducted in the Pharmacology Laboratory of Universitas Sumatera Utara. Twenty-five rats were divided into five groups. Alloxan 120 mg/kg BW was administrated intraperitoneally, and the rats' fasting blood glucose levels were measured four days later. Group I (negative control) were treated with aqua dest, group II (positive control) was treated with glibenclamide 1,25 mg /kg BW, and group III, IV, and V were given an extract of Jamblang at a dose of 125, 250, and 500 mg/kg BW for seven days. Trigliserida and HDL-C measured using spektrofotometer microlab. The data were subjected to the Kruskal-Wallis test to examine the effect of Jamblang extract in different doses on the atherogenic index, followed by a Mann- Whitney Post hoc test. The result revealed that the extract Jamblang dose of 125, 250, and 500 mg/kg BW significantly decreased the atherogenic index (p value= 0,012

The activity of placer gold mining has ruined the ecosystem by disturbing the upper soil layers, contaminating waterways, and leading to sedimentation downstream. This study is being carried out in order to improve soil quality in Tanoh Mirah Village, Sungai Mas Subdistrict, West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The main objective is to explore the impact of applying boiler ash and sludge from the palm oil liquid waste processing on enhancing the fertility of soil in areas previously used for mining activites. Infertile soil samples from the remains mining site were treated with a specific composition of boiler ash and sludge, placed in 5 kg plastic containers, and stored for 15 days. Subsequently, soil pH, accessible phosphorus (P), organic carbon (C), total nitrogen (N), and exchangeable potassium (K) analyses were performed. The research findings demonstrate that after the remediation treatment, soil quality improved significantly. The soil's organic carbon content increased from 0.42% to 2.92% after applying 1,500 grams of sludge. The total nitrogen level increased from 0.02%. to 0.2% after treated with 1,500 grams of sludge, and 500 grams of boiler ash. The phosphorus content of the soil increased up to 123.13 mg/kg from original condition of 1.3 mg/kg, when 1,500 grams of boiler ash were added. In summary, boiler ash and sludge remain from the palm oil industry’s waste processing activities have the potential to be used for enhacing the quality of soil damaged by placer gold mining processes.

Background: Patients with hypertension frequently experience intense emotions in addition to the physiological effects of the disease, which tend to increase the risk of developing mental health issues such as anxiety. However, the connection between hypertension and anxiety remains uncertain. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and factors associated with anxiety in uncontrolled hypertensive patients in public health facilities. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in four public health centers in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Subjects were selected using consecutive sampling. Data on sociodemographic factors and comorbid conditions were obtained. Blood pressure was recorded, and severity was classified according to the JNC-7 guidelines. The Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A) was used to detect anxiety in each participant. Data were analyzed using used the chi-square test. Results: Of 60 respondents, consisting of men (31.7%) and women (68.3%), 34 (56.7%) had mild anxiety, 22 (36.7%) had moderate anxiety, and 3 (5%) had severe anxiety. There was a significant association (p = 0.007) between anxiety and duration of hypertension. On the contrary, no association in age, gender, level of education, and type 2 diabetes comorbidities (p> 0.05). Conclusions: Anxiety is common among hypertensive patients in primary healthcare settings and is associated with the duration of hypertension. Primary care physicians must be on the front lines in finding anxiety disorders, and making the necessary referrals or therapy.

Uji Kompetensi Mahasiswa Program Profesi Dokter (UKMPPD) merupakan syarat untuk menyelesaikan program profesi dokter dan mendapatkan sertifikat profesi. Uji Kompetensi Mahasiswa Program Profesi Dokter (UKMPPD) di Indonesia memiliki angka ketidaklulusan yang cukup tinggi. Motivasi merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar terhadap kelulusan Computer Based Test UKMPPD mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran di provinsi Aceh. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Responden adalah 115 mahasiswa dari fakultas kedokteran di Aceh yang mengikuti ujian CBT periode februari 2021. Penilaian motivasi belajar menggunakan MSLQ (Motivated Strategies for Learning Quesstionnaire) dan nilai kelulusan CBT periode februari 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan motivasi belajar kategori tinggi sebanyak 55,7% dan kelulusan CBT sebanyak 58,3%. uji Chi Square didapatkan hubungan antara motivasi terhadap kelulusan ujian CBT UKMPPD mahasiwa kedokteran (p value =0,000). The purpose of this study is to describe and generate interaction model of learning through "Elip-Marc" activity via "TPS" cooperative learning in order to improve student's mathematical reasoning who have valid, practical and effective criteria. "Elip-Marc" is an acronym of eliciting, inserting, pressing, maintaining, reflecting and confirming, an activity in the learning process have aim to improve student's mathematical reasoning. So there are three types product are developed, namely: (1) The interaction learning model, as a conceptual framework and a reference in developing the supporting device. (2) The learning device, for carrying out teaching methods and to measure the practicality and effectiveness of the interaction model and (3) The research instrument to assess the quality of the model and the device. All products are "Elip-Marc" activity oriented and supported by worksheet with RAT ("Reasonable Answer Test") format. All products are declared valid as constructs and content by expert validator. Practicality and effectiveness criteria of the product conducted in even semester at 2014-2015 by implementation interaction model on eight grade students of "SMP Negeri 3 Kepanjen" Malang East Java, Indonesia on the material "Problem solving about three dimension spaces." By Analysis of the teacher's Elip-Marc activity and the response of student's in the learning process obtained conclusions that interaction model is practical and effective, so can improve student's mathematical reasoning as the intervention results in desired outcomes. So, If (1) the teacher is pleased to be patient and persistent engage students in the learning process through Elip-Marc activities, (2) and supported by the task of "word problems" challenging (3) and motivated by the question that digging (Prompting Questions) and guided (Probing Question), (4) and provide students the necessary scaffolding, (5) and provide space worksheet adequate workplace, (5) and following the "RAT" steps, students were motivated to improve mathematical reasoning. However, the authors suggest that the results of this study can be adapted to the other materials in mathematics learning, and hope a lot of teacher willing to implement this model interaction.

Filariasis atau kaki gajah adalah penyakit menular menahun yang disebabkan oleh cacing filarial, yang menimbukan pembengkakan pada tangan, kaki dan genital. Filariasis masih menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat di Kabupaten Aceh Utara, salah satunya di Kecamatan Baktiya menjadi angka kejadian tertinggi. Salah satu strategi pemberantasan filariasis yang dilakukan dengan memutuskan mata rantai penularan dengan Pemberian Obat Masal Pencegahan (POMP) filariasis. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang filariasis terhadap kepatuhan pengobatan massal filariasis di Kecamatan Baktiya Aceh Utara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional, sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 256 sample dan analisis data menggunkan uji Chi-Square dan Uji Kolmogorov Smirnov sebagai alternatif lain untuk pemenuhan syarat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tidak ada hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan pengobatan massal filariasis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak didapatkan hubungan yang significan antara tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat di wilayah kecamatan Baktiya Aceh Utara terhadap kepatuhan pengobatan pencegahan massal filariasis yang telah dilaksanakan di wilayah tersebut.

Performa seorang instruktur skill lab sangat berpengaruh terhadap pencapaian sasaran pembelajaran skill lab. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran performa instruktur skill lab Program Studi Kedokteran di FK Unimal. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-analitik menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Responden adalah 213 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah “Instrument for Evaluating Clinical Skills lab Teacher’s Didactical Performance”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan performa keterampilan mengajar, keterampilan interpersonal dan komunikasi dan performa kondisi/strategi pelatihan intruktur keterampila klinik didinilai baik oleh mahasiswa dengan persentase kategori baik sampai sangat baik lebih dari 90 %. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara umum performa instruktur keterampilan klinik di Program Studi Kedokteran FK Unimal sudah baik berdasarkan persepsi mahasiswa. Research regarding the topic of mosquito population has been on the rise in the last 13 years, and because of that, it is an interesting topic to analyze the trends and growth of. This paper aims to analyze research papers and journals, then visualize research trends on the topic of mosquito population in the last 13 years and identify potential research topics related to mosquito population for future research. The method of this study uses a literature review and bibliometric analysis using Google Scholar, DBLP, and VOSviewer databases, in which 999 documents were collected. The results illustrate that mosquito population research has been on the rise gradually, reaching its peak in 2020 and showing a decline afterwards. The author with the highest contribution is Giovanni Belleni, and the most common type of document is a research paper. More research regarding mosquito populations can be used to analyze the transmission of diseases and the effects of climate change. This study is limited in its scope because most of the data was obtained through Google Scholar and DBLP without thorough filtering. Hence, it is recommended for future research to go through additional steps to filter more of the obtained data.

This study aims to compare the reproductive performance of the Ongole cross (PO) and OngoleLimousin cross (Limpo) on smallholder farmer in Bekri district, Central Lampung regency, Lampung province, a Indonesia. This study used 30 PO cows, 30 Limpo F1 (first filial) cows and 30 Limpo F2 cows. Sample cows had at least two parities and had never had a history of reproductive disorders. This study used primary and secondary data related to sample cows. Primary data was obtained from interviews with farmers and secondary data was obtained from the Department of Plantations, Livestock and Fisheries of Central Lampung regency, and inseminator recording. Data were described descriptively and analyzed using a one-way Analysis of Variance in Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 23. The result showed that the services per conception of Limpo F2 cows was higher (p <0.05) than for PO and Limpo F1 cows. Days open and calving interval for Limpo cows (F1 and F2) were longer (p <0.05) than for PO cows. Days open and calving interval for Limpo F1 cows were not significantly different (p >0.05) than for Limpo F2 cows. Reproductive performance of PO cows was better compared to Limpo F1 and Limpo F2 cows. However, there was a data discrepancy between reproductive performance and data on rearing systems, feed quality, and signs of estrus observed by farmers. Aging causes a lot of changes in elderly’s physiologic function. It could be physical, mental or functional changes, including cognitive function. Cognitive function needed for performing ADL tend to decrease in elderly. Decreasing in cognitive function will cause disturbance in fulfil daily requirements so that increasing the dependency on others to help performing ADL. This study purpose to analyze relationship between cognitive function and independent level in performing ADL in elderly at panti Darussa’adah and An-Nur lhokseumawe using analytical cross-sectional design with purposive sampling technique. The data was analyzed by chi-square for the statistical test. Population for this study was elderly who lives in panti Darussa’adah and An-Nur by September 2017. Data obtained from 30 participants based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Variables of this study are cognitive function and independent level in performing ADL. The result showed that half participants (50%) had a severe cognitive impairment. Most of them (53,3%) need helps to perform ADL. There is no significant relationship between cognitive function and independent level in performing ADL in elderly at Panti Darussa’adah and An-Nur lhokseumawe (p = 0,209). However, it is suggested that elderly should have a mental activity for maintaining their cognitive function.
