This article, titled "EP08.41: Fetal adrenal grand: zone-targeting dimensional measurement and Doppler studies in normal and growth-restricted fetuses," explores the zonal structure of the fetal adrenal gland and the identification of plural adrenal arteries using ultrasound imaging. The study analyzed normal and growth-restricted fetuses without structural anomalies and measured the outer diameter of the low echoic definitive zone (DZ) and echo genic fetal zone (FZ) three-dimensionally. The researchers also examined the relationship between gestational age and the FZ/DZ ratio, as well as the pulsatile Doppler recording on adrenal arteries. The results showed that the zonal dimension and Doppler measurement of the fetal adrenal gland were technically accessible, and the changes in the FZ/DZ ratio and MAA-PI (middle adrenal artery pulsatility index) suggested functional maturation of the gland. The study found no significant difference between the normal and growth-restricted fetuses. [Extracted from the article]
