INTRODUCCIÓN: El cáncer colorrectal (CCR) es la segunda causa de mortalidad por cáncer en Argentina. Su diagnóstico tardío reduce sustancialmente las posibilidades de sobrevida. El objetivo fue describir el estudio de implementación de prevención del CCR realizado en el departamento cordobés de Pocho y analizar factores de riesgo y vulnerabilidad según condiciones de riesgo promedio (RP) o elevado (RE). MÉTODOS: Se incluyó a 265 adultos de 50-75 años residentes en Pocho. Se diseñó un dispositivo de intervención territorial; se construyeron y analizaron indicadores de cobertura, salud, referencia y contrarreferencia. RESULTADOS: Hubo 19,6% de participantes con RE y 80,4% con RP. La cobertura por invitación fue de 36,6% de la población objetivo, con una tasa de aceptación del 84,2%, una positividad del test de sangre oculta en materia fecal inmunoquímico (TSOMFi) del 19,3% y un índice de cumplimiento de videocolonoscopia del 81,8%. El consumo inadecuado de frutas, verduras y carnes asadas fue mayor en el grupo de RP (p≤0,05); 17,4% había consumido al menos un cigarrillo en los últimos 30 días; 77,6% había realizado al menos 30 minutos diarios de actividad física; 52% reportó al menos una vez presión elevada, 21,7% glucemia elevada y 21,8% colesterol elevado; 29,5% presentó obesidad. DISCUSIÓN: La adherencia al test y al circuito de atención fue alta. Se sentaron las bases para el escalamiento provincial de la estrategia preventiva del CCR mediante tamizaje con TSOMFi.

This research explored why graduate Azerbaijani education students chose to pursue their overseas education in Turkey, which factors they took into consideration, and what contributions this education will provide both them and their countries. The phenomenological model was utilized in the research. The research comprised 25 Azerbaijani students enrolled at the graduate-level in Eskisehir Osmangazi and Anadolu Universities in the 2017-2018 academic year. The interviews were coded with content analysis and formed themes and subthemes. The findings reflected that Azerbaijani students viewed Turkey as a 'sister' city and therefore preferred to study their overseas education there because of the common religion, language, and the cultural proximity. Moreover Eskisehir has suitable living conditions for the students due to a favorable economy.

Background: A tool to detect overweight and obesity among children should be simple, reliable, valid, and cost-effective. There is a need to monitor obesity among children in different populations. For this, there should be only one tool that is accepted worldwide or nationally which can be used to detect and compare the trends in different population settings. Objective: To assess obesity among children aged 4–17 years using waist-to-height ratio and to study its correlation with blood pressure. Materials and Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was carried out among 261 children aged 4–17 years. Different variables such as age, sex, residence, parent's education and occupation, total family income per year, total family members, height, weight, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were considered. Results: The mean age was 8.05 ± 2.75 years. The mean height was 122.71 ± 16.06 cm. The mean waist-to-height ratio was 0.45 ± 0.05. Males were more than females. Children from rural areas were more. The prevalence of obesity based on waist-to-height ratio was 19.2%. Waist-to-height ratio was significantly correlated with age, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), DBP, father education, mother education, and mother occupation. SBP was not correlated with waist-to-height ratio, but DBP was significantly correlated. As waist-to-height ratio increased by one unit, DBP increased by 0.157 mmHg. Age and weight were significantly associated with waist-to-height ratio. Conclusion: The overall prevalence of obesity using waist-to-height ratio was 19.2%. Waist-to-height ratio was significantly correlated with age, height, weight, BMI, DBP, waist circumference, father education, mother education, and mother occupation. Age and body weight were significantly associated with waist-to-height ratio.

Background: Constipation not only bothers children but also their parents. Even then, it remains neglected and leads to delayed medical care. It leads to physical as well as psychological morbidity. It affects the quality of life of children. Lack of timely medical care compounds the problem. The child may lose his/her self-esteem. About 1%–3% of children may develop impaction of the feces and may lead to soiling with fecal matter. Objective: The objective was to study the prevalence and clinicopsychological profile of functional constipation (FC) among children aged 1–12 years. Materials and Methods: This was a hospital-based cross-sectional study carried out among 156 children aged 1–12 years attending the tertiary care center for 1 year. During the study, 911 children aged 1–12 years attended the hospital. We applied Rome IV criteria for the diagnosis of FC. Using these criteria, 156 children were found to have FC, and all of them were included in the present study. Results: The prevalence of FC among the children was 17.1%. It was more in the toddler group (43.6%) with a slight female preponderance (51.3%). It was more in urban resident children (69.2%) and children belonging to the low socioeconomic group (33.3%). Painful defecation was the most common presenting complaint (81.4%). Most of the children passed Bristol Type II stool

Sufi şair, Yesevîye tarikatının kurucusu, Pîr-i Türkistan Ahmed Yesevi’nin Türklere İslamiyet’i öğretmek amacıyla kaleme aldığı Dîvân-ı Hikmet bu gün de Türk İslam irfan ve düşünce tarihinin önemli kaynakları sırasındadır. K. Eraslan, İ. Hakkul, M. M. Tulum, N. Hasan ve H. Bice gibi araştırmacılar bu kıymetli eseri yayına hazırlayarak okurlarına ulaştırmak için çaba sarf etmişlerdir. Makalemizde ilk önce Divan-ı Hikmet’in Türk Dünyası’ndaki neşirleri değerlendirilmiş, hangi nüshaları esasında yayına hazırlandığı belirlenmiştir. Bu bilgilerden hareketle Divan-ı Hikmet’in St. Petersburg’daki önemli el yazmalarının popüler ve tenkitli metin çalışmalarında kullanılmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu sebeple gelecekte Divan-ı Hikmet’in yeni tenkitli metninin hazırlanması veya var olan neşirlerin daha tekmil hale getirilmesine yardımcı olacağı düşüncesiyle St. Petersburg Doğu Yazmaları Enstitüsü’nde korunan el yazmalarının tespit edilmesi ve tanıtılması hedeflenmiştir. Makalemizde ilk önce St. Petersburg Doğu Yazmaları Enstitüsü’nün (Asya Müzesi) kuruluş tarihi gözden geçirilmiş, daha sonra Rusya Bilimler Akademisi tutanaklarından hareketle Orta Asya ve Volga boyundan getirilen el yazması eserlerin hangi kararlarla, hangi kurumlar ve kimler tarafından elde edildiği araştırılmıştır. Ardından da St. Petersburg Doğu Yazmaları Enstitüsü’ne getirilmiş Divan-ı Hikmet nüshalarının bulunduğu koleksiyonlar ve bu koleksiyonlardaki nüshaların değerlendirilmesi üzerine yoğunlaşılmıştır. Yürüttüğümüz araştırmalar sonucunda adı geçen enstitüde Divan-ı Hikmet’in 23 nüshanın muhafaza edildiği tespit edilmiştir.

The 2-chloro-3-(p-tolyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[e][1,3,2]oxazaphosphinine 2-sulfide compound was prepared from thiophosphoryl chloride and 2-((p-tolylamino)methyl)phenol in the presence of triethylamine. X-ray crystal structure of the compound was determined using direct methods and refined to an R factor of 4.6%. The compound has adopted an orthorhombic crystal system with Pna21 space group. Hirshfeld analysis was performed to calculate the electrostatic surface potential. In silico molecular docking studies revealed the binding potential of the compound at the active site of the MAPK enzyme.

Basal ganglia bleed, though common in hypertensive, is unusual in posttraumatic patients. Bilateral basal ganglia hematoma following trauma is extremely rare and is limited to few case reports. The authors report three cases of bilateral basal ganglia hematomas in traumatic patients. All the cases were managed conservatively.

Motivated mainly by three streams of research on religiosity and accounting expertise, this study investigates the effect of religiosity and accounting expertise on audit report lag. Using a unique sample and pooled regressions, it finds that the religiosity of top leaders, for example, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and audit committee (AC) chair, is not associated with shorter audit report lag. Consistent with prior research, it reports that the accounting expertise of top leaders is significantly associated with shorter audit report lag. More importantly, it documents that a religious top leader with accounting expertise is significantly associated with a greater reduction in audit report lag. Robustness checks are applied by conducting a variety of tests, resulting in similar findings. In additional analysis, this paper documents that religious and accounting expertise of top leaders are associated with abnormal decrease in audit report lag and that Big4 audit firms interact with the religiosity and accounting expertise of the AC chair more than the CEO. Overall, this study sheds light on the added value of religiosity and accounting expertise in the context of audit report lag.

A rare case of monostotic ossifying fibroma of the dorsal spine in a postpartum woman is being described. Ossifying fibromas of the spine are very rare tumors. They are components of benign fibro-osseous lesions. We report a case of an 18-year-old woman, who presented with complaints of weakness of both the lower limbs in the immediate postpartum period and was diagnosed with ossifying fibroma of the dorsal [D3] vertebral body. The tumor was excised followed by spinal stabilization. Histopathologic findings were consistent with ossifying fibroma. Postoperative period was uneventful. Monostotic variant of ossifying fibroma in the dorsal spine is an extremely rare tumor, and its presence in the postpartum period adds on to the diagnostic dilemma. Hence this case report can be kept in mind while evaluating a case presenting with complaints of weakness of both the lower limbs in the immediate postpartum period.

Velayet-i Sheikh Safi which is a small booklet written in Turkish is a part of the manuscript book on Sufism stored at the Manuscript Library of Kastamonu under the archive number 37 Hk 2694. It deals with miracles and wisdoms of Sheikh Safi al-Din İshak Ardabilî, a famous Azerbaijani Sufi leader and the ancestor of Safavids. This booklet consists of 24 short chapters in 12 foils. The work was copied by Ahmed b. Mehmed in 990 / 1582. The booklet was written in a simple and understandable language. Although the text was written in Old Ottoman Turkish, the influence of Azerbaijani Turkish is also visible. As a result of comparing Velayet-i Sheikh Safi and Safvat al-Safa, we found that, this work is the Turkish translation of some stories taken from different chapters of Safvat al-Safa. Based on linguistic and historical facts, we assume that, these stories were translated in the 15th century. In terms of translation, this booklet is dissimilar from those translations which was realized by poet Badr during the time of Sheikh Junaid (before 1456-1457) and by translator Neshati during the reign of Shah Tahmasb I (in 1542-1543). However, Velayet-i Sheikh Safi contains some stories which are partially similar with same stories of the Turkish manuscripts of Safvat al-Safa in Baku, Mashhad and Uskudar. In this article we analyzed Sheikh Safi’s Velayetnama and presented a transcript of this manuscript.

Es en la urdimbre entre la materialidad de la comida (calidad/cantidad) y el cuerpo del comensal (sentidos corporales) que se entretejen las sensibilidades a partir de las cuáles se significa el mundo. El presente artículo propone conocer las cocinas familiares en contextos de pobreza urbana a partir de los sentidos (corporal/social) que las significan. Se trabajó con metodología cualitativa a partir de la interpretación y análisis de observaciones participantes, encuentros domiciliarios y entrevistas semiestructuradas. Como resultados de la investigación las cocinas se definieron a partir de las siguientes categorías analíticas: descriptores (sensoriales y sociales) de la comida y del cocinar; auto-definición de su propia alimentación, creencias alimentarias asociadas y perspectivas de su alimentación futura. Este estudio sienta bases para continuar abordando la multiplicidad de formas del “comer”, y sus “por qué” (contexto social, cultural, político, económico, familiar), así como su impacto en la salud.

En este trabajo se presenta un análisis preliminar del registro ictioarqueológico proveniente del sitio 2 de La Bellaca (Pdo. de Tigre, Pcia. de Buenos Aires). Dicho depósito se encuentra ubicado en el ambiente de "Bajíos ribereños" y fue generado por grupos de cazadores-recolectores-pescadores del Holoceno Tardío. Para el análisis de los conjuntos ictioarqueol��gicos, además de su identificación y cuantificación taxonómica y anatómica, se evaluaron diferentes aspectos tafonómicos. En tal sentido, se consideró si existieron o no probables situaciones de sobredimensión de la muestra debido a la acción de procesos naturales, así como otros factores (naturales y culturales) relativos al estado de conservación e integridad general de la misma. En función de los resultados obtenidos se discuten una serie de hipótesis relacionadas con las potenciales estrategias y tácticas relacionadas con la explotación de la ictiofauna en el nordeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires entre 1.500-500 años AP.In this paper we present a preliminary analysis of the ichtyoarchaeological record from La Bellaca Site 2 (Partido de Tigre, Buenos Aires province). The deposit is located in the environment known as "Bajíos ribereños", and was generated by Late Holocene hunter-gatherer-fishers. For the analysis of the ichtyoarchaeological assemblages -besides its identification and anatomical and taxonomic quantification- we evaluated several taphonomic aspects. In this sense, we examined whether probable situations of over-representation of the sample due to the action of natural processes, as well as other factors (natural and cultural) relating to its state of preservation and general integrity, had taken place or not. Given the results obtained, we discuss a number of hypotheses related to the potential strategies and tactics employed in the exploitation of ichtyofauna in the northeast of Buenos Aires province between 1500 and 500 years BP.

Chronic heart failure is a growing health problem, and it is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Left ventricular assist devices LVADs are an important treatment option for patients with end-stage HF. As a bridge to heart transplantation and also as a permanent therapy destination therapy. Implantation of LVAD is associated with a high risk for bleeding complications and thromboembolic events, including pump thrombosis and ischemic stroke. Bleeding is the most frequent complication, occurring in 30% to 60% of patients, both early and late after LVAD implantation. Non-surgical bleeding (NSB) coagulopathy is a major complication after assist device (LVAD) implantation. Our study aimed to assess human prothrombin complex administration effectivity on patients after assist device implantation. A prospective observational nonrandomized single-centre study was carried out at the National Research Cardiac Surgery Center, Astana, Kazakhstan. All consecutive patients with advanced heart failure who underwent surgery – left ventricle assist device implantation between January 2022 and April 2023 were included. The indications for placement were: DT. The observation was conducted in the perioperative period. A day before surgery and immediate postop period in ICU. All patients had a standard scheme of anaesthesia and surgery protocol. Inclusion criteria: LVAD patients in the perioperative period in ICU. Exclusion criteria: LVAD patients who denied participation in the study. All patients had a standard scheme of intensive care in the postop period. Significant bleeding was detected on more than 450 ml level in 180 min. All patients had received Human prothrombin complex (dosage was calculated according to manufacturer recommendation) intraoperatively in combination with fresh frozen plasma (FFP) 1000 ml, just after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) weaning and reversion of heparin by protamine (dosage ratio 1/1.2). Laboratory data (routine coagulogramma). was collected before surgery, after surgery in ICU and 20 hours after surgery. Thromboelastography (TEG) was conducted once in the immediate postop period. Total number of patients - 44. Male - 85%, female – 15%. Mean age -49.58±12.32 BMI– 27.93±7.17 Mechanical ventilation (hours) –7.38±3.56 Mean ICU stay – 2.83±1.03 days. Mean CBP time (min) - 90.65±29.5 Mean Cross clump time (min) – 12.58±19.35 Laboratory data: Coagulogramma TEG was measured in the immediate postop period. All samples of TEG were in the normal range. The mean haemoglobin level decreased from 131.09 to 98.65 g/l due to surgery. The mean volume of blood loss in 24 hours was detected on the level – 483.94 ml. In complications, we did not find Transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) or ischemic stroke. Delirium was detected at 12 patients. Preventive administration of the Human prothrombin complex in combination with fresh frozen plasma in the immediate postoperative period may be beneficial for patients after left ventricle assist device implantation. Administration of the Human prothrombin complex allows for decreasing hemotransfusion of blood components in the postoperative period. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
