Homeothermic livestock such as laying hens have been widely developed and cultivated throughout Indonesia. This group of animals physiologically has a system that is able to maintain a normal body temperature range of 40-42°C. One of the strategies used to reduce the impact of heat stress is the provision of natural feed additives, namely probiotics containing a consortium of bacteria. An experiment was conducted on forty laying hens, which were kept in cages with heat stress. Probiotic feeding was done by dividing four groups of hens each. A probiotic level of 4% is the most effective level. This means that heat stress in laying hens can be overcome by giving probiotics. Probiotics have an important role in preventing changes in the osmotic pressure of body fluids, so that overall, they can overcome metabolic changes associated with heat stress. Dried probiotics have a good effect on the digestive tract in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria and increasing the blood protein content. This study aims to identify the effect of dry probiotics on protein and blood albumin levels in broiler chickens. In the experiment, a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and 4 replications was applied. The probiotic treatments included T0: basal ration (BR); T1: basal ration with dry probiotic A (100% fermented cow's milk/FCM); T2 : basal ration with dry probiotic B (fermented cow's milk/FCM and fermented mung bean milk/FMBM, with a composition of 75% : 25%), T3: basal ration with dry probiotic C (fermented cow's milk/FCM and fermented soy milk/ FCM, with a composition of 75% and 24%); and T4: basal ration with dry probiotic D (consisting of fermented cow's milk/FCM, fermented mung bean milk/FMBM and fermented soy milk/FSM, with compositions: 50%, 25% and 25%, respectively). The results showed that the difference in blood protein and albumin levels (P>0.05) was not significant. Dried probiotics tend to increase blood protein and albumin and have the potential to correlate with protein anabolism and broiler performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Chicken's meat is commonly eaten by most of the world's population. Besides, it has a good source of dietary protein and can provide high biological value, the meat also has a source of fat including saturated fatty acids (SFA), unsaturated fatty acids (USFA), cholesterol, triacylglycerol and phospholipids. But lipids categories can be the risk factors or the initiator of metabolic disease. The study aimed to know a potential and the best level of combination chitosan and turmeric powder for improving composition of blood lipid profile such as cholesterol and triacylglycerol, so it can increasing meat quality. The experimental was held for 30 days and the blood samples was investigated in the last days. The experimental design was used completely randomized design with 5 treatment (R1 = Chitosan 0% + Turmeric Powder 0%; R2 = C 1% + T.P 1%; R3 = C 2% + T.P 1%; R4 = C 1% + T.P 2%; R2 = C 2% + T.P 2%) and 4 replicated, in total using 100 DOC. The result is significantly (P<0,05) decreasing cholesterol and triacylglycerol levels. The best level recommendation of combination chitosan and turmeric powder is 1-2%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This problem is a consequence of the process of decomposition by bacterial. Decay by bacterial easily occur due to the high organic content of the waste, such as protein content. Research on Utilization of Waste Chicken Slaughterhouse (Chicken Feather Meal treated) as Feed Ingredients Protein Source in Broiler Chickens. This studies to explore the best type of treatment for chicken feathers seen on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, protein, nitrogen retention, and the value of energy metabolic. Types of processing, namely: 1. processed chicken feather meal cooked by steam pressure 2.5 kgf/cm2, temperature of 140°C for 50 minutes; 2. processed chicken feather meal which soaked 0.5% NaOH, followed by 2.5 kgf/cm2 cooking vapor pressure, temperature 140°C for 50 minutes; 3. processed chicken feather meal fermented by Bacillus licheniformis. S followed by a vapor pressure of 2.5 kgf/cm2 cooking, the temperature of 140°C for 50 minutes. The dates in this result showed that treatment with chicken feathers by soaking in 0.5% NaOH solution for 24 hours, followed by 2.5 kgf/cm2 pressure cooking, with a temperature of 140°C for 50 minutes produces chicken feather meal processed mostbest of digestibility, N retention and metabolizable energy value. Bioactive compounds in noni fruit is proxeronine and proxeronase enzyme, can protect body cells from damage and enhance cell function, also can be used to protecting liver cell, and other compounds such as antioxidants and terpenes The Palm sugar as a source of energy.The study aimed to compare using Noni juice and Palm sugar on Serum Glutamate Oxaloacetat Transaminase (SGOT) and Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase (SGPT) levels. Research involved 100 broiler chickens by using a Completely Randomized Design. Treatments were: ration without Palm Sugar (R0) and 3 rations which contained Noni juice and Palm Sugar at different levels, which were R1 (Palm Sugar 2% + Noni Juice 0.3%;), R2 (Palm Sugar 3% + Noni Juice 0.3%), and R3 Palm Sugar 4% + Noni Juice 0.3%), each treatment was repeated 5 times, reared up to 4 weeks of age. Water were given ad libitum to all group. After four weeks, each group was observed level SGOT and SGPT. Result showed no significant difference using 3% NJ and 0.3% PS (R3) on SGPT level (p>0.05), but tend to decrease until 25.94% (from 234,67 U/L to 186.33, U/L), compare to control, and R1 dan R2 gaves the same respons with control. On the other hand, there were no significant (p>0.05) difference found at all treatment on SGOT level, so the conclusion is using palm sugar and Noni juice can improve SGOT and SGPT level. &lt;b&gt;Background and Objective:&lt;/b&gt; Probiotics have been known as a potential alternative to replace antibiotic growth promotors and have many benefits for poultry health. This research investigated that how administering a combination of probiotics affects the health and physiological parameters of laying chickens. This includes understanding if and how probiotics can enhance organ function and influence blood biochemistry profiles in these birds, therefore they are used to increase the production of laying hens. &lt;b&gt;Materials and Methods:&lt;/b&gt; A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 56 hens was used. The treatments with two consortium yogurt B1 (&lt;i&gt;Bifidobacterium&lt;/i&gt; spp. and &lt;i&gt;L. acidophilus&lt;/i&gt;) and B2 (&lt;i&gt;L. bulgaricus&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;S. thermophilus&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;L. acidophilus&lt;/i&gt; and &lt;i&gt;B. bifidum&lt;/i&gt;) consisted of a control group that was not given the same treatment as the control group (T0), Group-1 was treated with WSPE probiotic B1 2% (T1), Group-2 was treated with WSPE probiotic B2 2% (T2), Group-3 was treated with 2% probiotic B1 powder (T3), Group-4 was treated with 3% probiotic B1 powder (T4), Group-5 were treated with 2% B2 probiotic powder (T5) and Group-6 were treated with 3% B2 probiotic powder (T6), data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan's multiple range test. &lt;b&gt;Results:&lt;/b&gt; The giving consortium probiotics to laying hens has a significant effect on uric acid levels as well as decreased SGOT, SGPT and creatinine levels also increasing total protein, albumin and globulin levels. &lt;b&gt;Conclusion:&lt;/b&gt; The use of probiotics 2% increased organ function, namely an increase in total protein, albumin and globulin levels.
