Osmanlı Devleti’ndeki finansal sistem, İslam hukuku çerçevesinde şekillenirken, özellikle klasik dönemde yerel düzeyde kalmış, Tanzimat Fermanı’nın ilanından sonra ise merkezî bir hal kazanarak kurumsallaşma sürecine girmiştir. Klasik dönemde finansal araçlara vereceğimiz örneklerin başında orta sandıkları, avarız vakıfları, para vakıfları gelmektedir. 15. yüzyılın ilk çeyreğinde kurulan, kişinin menkûl malını vakfederek hayır amaçlı kullanılmasını sağlayan para vakıfları, bölgesel finans araçlarından biridir. Para vakıfları ile bölge halkının nakit ihtiyacı karşılanırken, ekonomik olarak hareketlenme de hedeflenmiştir. Söz konusu finans kaynaklarının devamı ise eytam sandıklarıdır. Toplumdaki yetim çocukların malları ile oluşturulan eytam sandıkları, para vakıfları geleneğinin devamı şeklinde, nakit para ihtiyacı olan kişilere bir banka işlevi görerek borç para vermişlerdir. Eytam sandıklarının yapılanma tarihi tam olarak bilinmemektedir. Bununla birlikte Osmanlı Devleti’nde ailesini kaybetmiş çocukların sosyo-ekonomik haklarını korumak amacıyla kurulmuştur. Eytam sandıkları, yetim çocukların ebeveynlerinden kendilerine intikal eden malları fon olarak alıp işleten yapılar idi. Hem yetim paralarını işletme hem de bölgesel finans kaynağı ile kredi imkânı amacı taşıyan sandıklar, zaman içerisinde kötü niyetli çalışanlar ve vasilerin hilelerine maruz kalınca, 1850 yılından sonra merkezden kontrol edilmek istenmiştir. Bu maksatla 1851 yılında sandıkları denetlemek amacıyla Eytam Nezareti kurulmuştur. Eytam sandıklarının sermayesi, vefat eden anne babanın çocuklarına bıraktıkları her türlü para, mücevherat, vakıf gelirleri, ev, bağ, bahçe, tarla, çiftlik gibi vb. akarlardan oluşmuştur. Nakit para ve mücevherat, sandıklara devredilmiştir ve belli nemalar ile nakit para talebinde bulunan kişilere, gösterecekleri teminat karşılığında borç para verilmiştir. Bedestenlerde muhafaza edilen sandıkların Eytam Nezareti binasına nakledilmesi istense de eski gelenek devam ettirilmiş ve bedestenlerde muhafaza edilmiştir. Öncelikle esnaf, tüccar, kuyumcu olmak üzere pek çok kişi ihtiyaçları çerçevesinde eytam sandıklarından nakit para talebinde bulunmuşlardır. 1851 yılından önce dağınık halde bulunan ve kuralsız çalışan sandıklar, bu tarihten itibaren belli kurallar ve sınırlamalar ile faaliyet göstermiştir. 1851 Eytam Nizamnamesi’nin kuralına göre herkese borç veren sandıklar, bundan böyle çalışanlarına ve yetimlerin vasilerine borç vermemiştir. Bu sınırlama 1906 yılına kadar devam etmiş olmakla beraber, bu tarihten sonra da yine belli kural ve sınırlamalar ile borç para vermişlerdir. Yetim çocuk reşit yaşa geldiğini ispat ettikten sonra sandıkta biriken paralar, çocuğa kadı huzurunda teslim edilip hesabı kapatılmıştır. Bizler bugün, borçların kaleme alındığı hesap defterlerinden hangi bölgede ne kadar sandık olduğu ve ne şekilde çalıştıklarına dair bilgiler elde edebilmekteyiz. Üsküdar şer’iyye sicillerinde yer alan eytam sandıkları muhasebe kayıtlarının incelenmesiyle oluşan yetim mallarının finansal kullanımına dair bu çalışma, eytam sandıklarının oluşumu ve işleyişi hakkında bilgiler sunmaktadır. 1850-1856 yılına ait Üsküdar eytam sandıklarının borç kayıtları incelendiğinde, sandıkların nizamname kurallarına değil, para vakıflarındaki vakfiyelerin kuralları ve usullerine göre hareket ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Kanaatimizce bir finansal araç olarak değerlendirilebilecek Üsküdar eytam sandıkları, nizamname kurallarına uyum sağlamakta gecikmiş, para vakıfları kurallarını terk edememiştir. Sandıklardan para talep eden ve borç alan kişiler, vade süreleri ayrıca nema oranları gibi hususlarda 1851 Eytam Nizamnamesi ve Eytam Sandıkları Nizamnamesi kurallarından bağımsız hareket etmişlerdir. Söz konusu hususların somut örnekler ve istatistiksel verilerle aktarıldığı bu çalışma, Üsküdar yetimlerinin sandıklarında yapılan muameleleri göstermeyi hedeflemektedir. Kanaatimizce özellikle Eytam Nezareti’nin kurulduğu ilk yıllarda, farklı bölgelerde de para vakıflarını devam ettiren eytam sandıkları mevcuttur. Bu husus müstakil çalışma konusudur. Zamanla taşrada faaliyet gösteren eytam sandıkları, nizamname kurallarının dışına çıkabilmiştir.

Objective(s): Renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) is a vital health condition leading to acute kidney injury. Costunolide (COST) is an actively used molecule clinically for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory properties. In the present study, we searched for the possible protective effects of COST against renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats.Materials and Methods: We established a renal I/R rat model. We divided forty rats into four groups: group I (sham), group II (I/R), group III (I/R+COST 5 mg/kg), and group IV (I/R+COST 10 mg/kg). We collected blood, kidney, and lung samples for analysis. Results: COST administration performed anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activity by reducing oxidant parameters and proinflammatory cytokine levels. COST alleviated DNA damage through declining 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels. In addition, COST diminished tubular damage and inflammation by reducing kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) production. COST administration also ameliorated apoptosis and autophagy by decreasing caspase-3 and microtubule-associated protein light chain 3B (MAPLC3, LC3B) expression.Conclusion: COST demonstrated protective effects against renal I/R-induced injury.

This paper examined the problem-solving and problem-posing skills of middle school students in terms of whether the factors of gender and school type have an impact, as well as to illustrate these skills with respect to grade levels. A total of 461 students from different middle school levels of both private and public schools participated in the study. The instrument and framework reported by Cai (2003) were applied in the data collection and analysis phases of the study. The results revealed no significant differences between private and public schools in terms of problem-solving and problem-posing skills. In terms of gender, similar characteristics were found in terms of problem-solving skills, while differences in problem-posing skills were noted. In addition, some differences were observed in terms of problem-solving and problem-posing skills according to grade level. These results are discussed in the context of the existing literature.

İnsanlar tarih boyunca inanç ve düşünce ile ilgili soyut kavramları, çoğu zaman semboller aracılığıyla anlatmışlardır. İslam tasavvuf kültüründe de semboller, derin anlamlar içereni anlatmak açısından büyük önem taşımıştır. Özellikle tarikat eşyaları, Anadolu tekke kültüründe, kullanım ve giyim eşyası olan ve her tarikata göre şekli ve rengi farklılık gösteren, tekkelerde tarikatların hem gündelik hayatta hem de zikir ve merasimlerinde kullandıkları birer sembolik eşya olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Cihaz-ı tarikat diye de adlandırılan bu eşyalar, tasavvuf erbabı tarafından manevi anlamlar yüklenerek, dervişlerin manevi olgunluğa ulaşmasında somut hale getirilmiş sembolik unsurlardır. Osmanlı’nın son döneminde Urfa’da yaşamış önemli bir Kadiri şeyhi olan Dede Osman Avni Tekkesi ’ne ait 4 alem, 1 tâc, 1 külah, 3 şamdan-çerağ, 1 keşkül, 1 mütteka, 1 asa (şeşper), 2 zikir kemeri, 1 lamba, 1 tespih, 1 seccade, 3 levha, olmak üzere toplam 20 tarikat eşyası çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada eşyaların malzemeleri, teknikleri, süslemeleri, üzerlerindeki yazıları ve tarihleri incelenip değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında incelenen tarikat eşyalarında, maden, ahşap, kumaş, yün, porselen, ve alçı malzemeler kullanılarak, döküm, dövme, oyma, kalıp yapım teknikleriyle eşyalara şekiller verilmiştir. Eşyalar üzerindeki süsleme ve yazılarda ise kazıma, kabartma, delik işi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Süslemelerdeki kompozisyonlar bitkisel, geometrik, nesneli motiflerden oluşmaktadır, eşyalarda görülen yazıların büyük bir kısmı dini içeriklidir. Çalışmada Urfa’da Dede Osman Avni Tekkesine ait olan tarikat eşyalarının tasavvuf kültürü- geleneğindeki sembolik anlamları üzerinde durulmuş ve bu eşyalar sanat tarihi disiplini içerisinde incelenerek bu konu ile ilgili literatüre katkıda bulunulması amaçlanmıştır.

Forecasting streamflow in stream basin systems plays a crucial role in facilitating effective urban planning to mitigate floods. In addition to employing intricate hydrological modeling systems, machine learning and statistical techniques offer an alternative means for streamflow forecasts. Nonetheless, the precision and dependability of these methods are subjects of paramount importance. This study rigorously investigates the effectiveness of three distinct machine learning techniques and two statistical approaches when applied to streamflow data from the Göksu Stream in the Marmara Region of Turkey, spanning from 1984 to 2022. Through a comparative analysis of these methodologies, this examination aims to contribute innovative advancements to the existing methodologies used in the prediction of streamflow data. The methodologies employed include machine learning methods such as Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) and statistical methods such as Simple Exponential Smoothing (SES) and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model. In the study, 444 data points between 1984 and 2020 were used as training data, and the remaining data points for the period 2021–2022 were used for streamflow forecasting in the test validation period. The results were evaluated using various metrics, such as the correlation coefficient (r), mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), coefficient of determination (R2), and Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE). Upon analyzing the results, it was found that the model generated using the XGBoost algorithm outperformed other machine learning and statistical techniques. Consequently, the models implemented in this study demonstrate a high level of accuracy in predicting potential streamflow in the river basin system.

It is known that, with the development of artificial intelligence science in recent years, it has started to be used in all areas of life. Due to the increase in diseases that threaten human life, such as epidemics and cancer, more attention has been paid to research in this field. Especially in the field of biomedical image processing, very successful results have been obtained in recent years with the use of deep learning methods. For this study, MR images are utilized to diagnose brain tumors. To assist doctors and radiologists in automatic brain tumor diagnosis and to overcome the need for manual diagnosis, a brain MR image automated classification system is being developed. The data used in the study are open access data obtained from the Kaggle library. This paper presents a novel approach for classifying brain MR images utilizing a dataset of 7022 MR images. To give an unbiased evaluation of the dataset, it is divided into a 40% test and 60% training set. Respectively, VGG, ResNet, DenseNet and SqueezeNet architectures are trained and used for feature extraction from brain MRI images. In order to classify the extracted features, machine learning methods (Support Vector Machines, K-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Linear Regression Analysis) are applied first, then an ensemble learning method is applied and the best validation method is selected. In addition, parameter optimization is applied to the trained CNN algorithms. In order to develop the proposed methods, the Python software program was used in the training and testing phases of the models, and the classification success rates were mutually evaluated. Among the results found, it can see that the ResNet architecture reached 100% accuracy. The data obtained as a result of the study were compared with the results of similar studies. In conclusion, the techniques and methods applied highlight their effectiveness in accurately classifying brain MRI images and their potential to improve diagnostic capabilities.

This study aims to determine the relationship between COVID-19 anxiety and rumination in university students and to examine the contributions of rumination in predicting COVID-19 anxiety. The research group of this study, which was conducted using the descriptive method and the relational scanning model, consisted of 417 students (86.1% female, 13.9% male) studying in different programs at Selçuk University. “COVID-19 Rumination Scale (C-19RS)”, “Coronavirus Anxiety Scale Short Form” and personal information form are data collection tools used in the study. Data collected for the research was analyzed via SPSS 25.00 package program. Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationships between COVID-19 anxiety and rumination scores of university students, while regression analysis was performed to determine the contribution of rumination scores in predicting COVID-19 anxiety scores. As a result of the research, there was a moderately significant positive correlation between the COVID-19 anxiety scores of university students and their rumination scores. Rumination scores of university students were found to be a significant predictor of COVID-19 anxiety scores, explaining 31% of the variance in their COVID-19 anxiety scores. The research findings were discussed in light of the literature

Drought is one of the major constraints to global crop production. A number of sustainable systems have focused on the development of environmentally friendly innovative biotechnological interventions to prevent yield losses. The use of essential oils as a seed priming agent can make an important contribution as a natural stimulant in increasing drought stress tolerance. This study focuses on the effects of seeds coated with different doses (D0 (0%), D1 (0.01%), D2 (0.05%), D3 (0.10%) and D4 (0.25%)) of sage, rosemary and lavender essential oils on wheat germination, seedling establishment and yield parameters. Turkey’s local wheat genotype Köse was used as plant material. The impact of the seed priming on germination rate, coleoptile length, shoot length, root length, shoot fresh and dry weight, root fresh and dry weight, relative water content (RWC), proline, and chlorophyll contents was assessed in laboratory experiments. In addition, the effect of essential oil types on yield parameters and agronomic components (plant height, spike height, number of grains per spike, grain yield per spike, grain yield per unit area, thousand-grain weight) was evaluated in a field experiment during the 2019–2020 crop seasons in a semi-arid climate. According to laboratory results, the highest germination rate among all treatment doses was determined in the D2 treatment (rosemary 93.30%, sage 94.00% and lavender 92.50%), while the lowest germination rates for all essential oil types were determined in the D4 treatment (rosemary 41.70%, sage 40.90% and lavender 40.90%). Increasing treatment doses showed a similar suppressive effect on the other parameters. In the field experiment, the highest grain yield (256.52 kg/da) and thousand-grain weight (43.30 g) were determined in the rosemary treatment. However, the priming treatment has an insignificant on the number of grains per spike and the spike length. The light of these results, the effects of essential oil types and doses on yield parameters were discussed. The findings highlight the importance of using essential oils in seed priming methods for sustainable agricultural practices.

This study aims to examine the mediational roles of resilience and life satisfaction in the relationship between students’ achievement need and their burnout. The research group of the study consists of 490 (85.7% female, 14.3% male) university students continuing their education in several programs at 6 universities across Turkey. Maslach Burnout Inventory – Student Form (MBI-SF), Life Satisfaction Scale, Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), New Needs Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) – Achievement Need Sub-dimension, and Personal Information Form were used as data collection tools in the research. According to the findings obtained from the analysis, achievement need, resilience, and life satisfaction have positive and significant relationships with the efficacy dimension of burnout. On the other hand, achievement need, resilience, and life satisfaction have negative and significant relationships with cynicism and emotional exhaustion sub-dimensions of burnout. In the mediation analysis, it was observed that resilience and life satisfaction serially mediated the relationship between the achievement need and burnout (efficacy, cynicism, exhaustion). Based on these findings, interventions aimed at increasing students’ resilience and life satisfaction can be beneficial in preventing student burnout.

The extent to which the targeted outcomes in education are achieved can be determined by the educational assessment process. Although various alternative ways of assessment have arisen in recent decades, written examinations are still widely used by teachers. This study aims to determine the quality of the questions used by middle school mathematics teachers on exams. Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) proficiency levels framework constitutes the theoretical framework of the study, in which the document analysis method is adopted. In this study, where a total of 1252 written questions were examined, it was observed that teachers mostly preferred open-ended questions in terms of question types. The analysis of the questions in terms of proficiency level showed that teachers mostly preferred the questions at Level 1 and Level 2 at low cognitive level. Level 5 and Level 6 questions were never encountered at all grade levels. In the light of results, some suggestions are made for further research.

Urfa ilinden 67 km. Harran ilçesinden ise 23 km. uzaklıkta bulunan Ba‛rûr Hanı, Harran ilçesinin Tek Tek Dağları bölgesindedir. H. 619 M.1219-1220 yılında inşa ettirilmiş olan ve günümüzde Anadolu sınırları içerisinde kalmış, bilinen tek Eyyubî hanıdır. Ba‛rûr Hanı, mimari olarak ortadaki kareye yakın büyük dikdörtgen bir avlu ile bu avlunun etrafındaki mekânlardan ve kuzey tarafındaki giriş kısmından oluşmaktadır. Avlunun kuzey tarafında giriş eyvanı, güney tarafında ise yapının ana eyvanı yer almaktadır. Giriş eyvanının doğu tarafında mescid, batı tarafında han görevlilerine ait olduğu düşünülen bir oda bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca hanın giriş kapısının tam karşısında, bir kuyu ile kuyunun doğu tarafında küçük bir yapı kalıntısı ve hanın kuzeybatı tarafındaki büyükçe bir yapı kalıntısı bulunmaktadır. Ba‛rûr Hanı, 2018 yılında Kültür Bakanlığı tarafından onarım programına alındığından yapıda onarıma başlanmadan önce, 2018 yılının ekim ayında başlanmış olan, arkeolojik kazı ve temizlik çalışmaları 2019 yılının şubat ayında tamamlanmıştır. Günümüzde metruk durumda bulunan Ba‛rûr Hanı’nda, avluda, avlunun her iki tarafında bulunan ve yapının tamamına yakınını dolaşan genişçe bir koridor şeklindeki mekânlarda, bu mekânlara açılan nişlerde, yapının köşe mekânlarında, güney ve doğu cephelerinde olmak üzere, yapının yaklaşık olarak tamamında arkeolojik kazı ve temizlik çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Ba‛rûr Han’da, yapılan arkeolojik kazı ve temizlik çalışmaları sonucunda, moloz ve toprak altında kalan kısımları açığa çıkarılarak, yapının bilinmeyen ve eksik kısımları ile malzeme özellikleri kesinleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmayla Ba‛rûr Han’ın tarihçesi, mimari özellikleri ve mimarlık tarihi açısından değerlendirmesi ve tanıtılması amaçlanmamış, Ba‛rûr Han’ında yapılan arkeolojik kazı ve temizlik çalışmalarının sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

The main focus of this study was to examine the mathematical thinking skills of the undergraduates in an adidactical situation. Didactical Situations Theory was adopted to explain and determine the complexity of students’ mathematical thinking. The current case study was conducted with 16 volunteers, pre-service primary school teachers of mathematics and a task called “500 lockers” was used to challenge their reasoning process. The data obtained through observation and student works were analyzed deductively and according to the five stages of adidactical learning described by Brousseau (2002). One of the main results of the study is that the designed learning environment with the given problem context provoked participants to make conjectures and provided them with an opportunity to defend their own hypotheses. Consequently, the implementation of the problem resulted in invaluable reflections enhancing participants’ mathematical thinking.

Zawiyas are places where dervishes belonging to a tariqa live together under the care of a sheikh. Often, they are built far from large urban settlements in rural areas using only their own abilities and possessions. Sheikh Mas'ud Khorasani Zâwiya is located on the southern skirts of Top Mountain, to the south of the inner city of Urfa. There are also cave settlements and cisterns in the vicinity. The origin of the Sheikh Mas'ud Khorasani Zâwiya, which has no building marker or builder epitaph, has been dated to between the end of the 12th century and the last quarter of the 14th century. The facility consists of a central courtyard with an architectural square plan with rooms around the courtyard from the grave room to the tomb. The courtyard is half-covered with a dome. Sheikh Mas'ud Khorasani Zâwiya has become a pilgrimage site now, due to the presence of the grave and tomb of Sheikh Mas'ud and the recent increase in the number of settlements around it. This research is an architectural and historical examination of the Sheikh Mas'ud Khorasani Zâwiya.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of fun athletics exercises on the psychomotor development. The research group consisted of 9 boys and 27 girls with a total of 36 students between 11-14 ages in Kocaeli. In the study, the fun athletics exercises (featured somersault, obstacles to jump, slip under the barrier, slalom, training ladder, double jump, medicine ball handling) applied for 90 minutes a day and 3 days a week over 8 weeks. The data was analyzed with Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Test and significance level was determined as α=0.05. According to findings of this study significant differences were found between pre and post tests results. As a result this study showed that fun athletic exercises have a positive effect on 11-14 aged children’s psychomotor development.

Antep’in eski şehir merkezinde bulunan Antep Mevlevîhânesi, zâviye niteliğinde inşa edilmiş bir mevlevîhânedir. Mevlevîhâne, H.1048-M.1638-39 yılında Mustafa Ağa tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Mevlevîhâne, semahane, mescid, derviş hücreleri, selamlık, hamuşan, ahır ve dükkânlardan oluşmaktadır. Günümüzde mevlevîhânenin, semahane ve mescidi, Tekke Camii olarak, selamlık kısımları ise Gaziantep Mevlevîhânesi Vakıf Müzesi olarak kullanılmaktadır.

Objective: Our aim was to identify the relationship of osteoporosis (OP) risk factors with bone mineral density (BMD) in patients admitted our outpatient clinic in Trabzon. Materials and Methods: Two hundred one patients with OP or osteopenia were included in this study. Sociodemographic characteristics of the patients were recorded and a standardized interview was employed by the researcher physician. BMD values were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry at lumbar spine and femoral neck. Results: The mean age of the patients was 61.47±10.57 years (182 females/19 males). One hundred fifteen patients (57.2%) were osteoporotic and 86 (42.8%) were osteopenic. A significant negative correlation was found between age and femoral neck T scores. The number of pregnancies showed a significant negative correlation with lumbar T scores. Body mass index and daily tea consumption showed a negligible positive correlation with femoral neck T scores. No association was found between age at menarche, age at menopause, total lactation duration, daily calcium intake and T scores of lumbar spine and femoral neck. Conclusions: Identification of regional OP risk factors may be useful for the OP risk management of patients in clinical practice.

This article discuss the algebra teaching knowledge of preservice elementary mathematics teachers in the context of CK and PCK as well as the relationship between them. The study was conducted with 101 preservice teachers sampled from a state university in Turkey. Rasch analysis was used to interpret the data. The results revealed that preservice teachers performed at mid-level for both CK and PCK tests. It was also found that there was significant correlation between the CK and PCK test scores. Weaknesses of the preservice teachers in terms of knowledge of the learner component of PCK, in comparison with presentation of content, were identified.

Aim:Depression and hopelessness, cause impairment in the quality of life and leads to the loss of one's efficiency are important problems. The purpose of this study is to search the frequency of depression and hopelessness and its relations with socio-demographic characteristics among medical students.Materials and Methods:This is a cross sectional analytical study. It was conducted 2-4 March 2009 between. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students from the Faculty of Medicine, Suleyman Demirel University were included in the study. 236 of a total 330 students (68.5 %) participated in the study. A questionnaire which aims to determine the students’ socio-demographic characteristics, Beck depression inventory and Beck hopelessness scale were applied under observation to the participants. According to the Beck depression inventory, those who scored 17 and over were classified as possible depressive. Data were evaluated statistically.Results:The average score of the students according to Beck hopelessness scale was found 5.3±4.6. According to Beck depression inventory 64 of the students (28.3%) were found to be possible depressive. The average Beck hopelessness scale score was higher for possible depressive students compared to the others (p=0.00). Depression scores was higher among the first year students compared to the others (p=0.03), higher among the females compared the males (p=0.02) and higher among dwelling in dorm compared to not dwelling in dorm (p=0.001). When the age of students, monthly income of family, the educational status of the parents were compared with hopelessness and depression rates there was no statistically significant relation.Conclusion:As a result, depression rates were high in basic medical students, furthermore hopelessness scores were found high among possible depressive students. Medical students should be given guidance and counseling service. Effective monitoring and prevention programs should be developed in order to lower the possible effects of depression and hopelessness on their future professional lives.

This study was conducted in the growing seasons of 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 to determine the effects of different ethephon doses and application times on yield and yield components of chickpea. Gökçe cultivar of chickpea was used as material in the study, and 0,150, 300, 450 and 600 g/ha ethephon doses were applied at the growth stages of three-leaves stage, before anthesis and grain filling period. Results of the study indicated that significant effects were determined with the application of different ethephon doses and application times in the traits of chickpea. The effect of ethephon application times on grain yield were nonsignificant, and the highest grain yield was obtained from the 450 g/ha ethephon dose. Ethephon application positively affected most of yield components in chickpea, and the greatest values were determined with the ethephon applications before anthesis

Bu araştırma, tritikalede farklı yetiştirme dönemlerinde uygulanan ethephon dozlarının tane verimi, protein oranı ve protein verimine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla, 2004-2006 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü deneme alanında yürütülmüştür. Deneme materyali olarak Tatlıcak 97, Melez 2001 ve Karma 2000 tritikale çeşitlerinin kullanıldığı çalışmada, bitkilere sapa kalkma, başaklanma öncesi ve çiçeklenme sonu dönemlerinde 0, 200, 400 ve 600 g/ha dozlarında ethephon uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; üç tritikale çeşidine farklı doz ve zamanda ethephon uygulanmasıyla tane verimi, protein oranı ve protein verimi yönünden önemli farklılıklar saptanmıştır. En yüksek tane verimi başaklanma öncesi 600 g/ha ethephon uygulanan çeşitlerde elde edilmiştir. Yıllara göre değişmekle birlikte, en yüksek protein oranı genellikle sapa kalkma döneminde 600 g/ha ethephon uygulamasında belirlenmiştir. Tane verimi, protein verimini doğrudan etkilemiş ve en yüksek protein verimi değerleri başaklanma öncesi 600 g/ha ethephon uygulamasında saptanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, ethephonun uzun bitki boyuna sahip tritikalede kullanılmasıyla hem yatmanın azaltılması sağlanabilecek hem tane verimi ve tane verimine de bağlı olarak protein veriminin artırılması mümkün olabilecektir

Bu çalışma, 2004-2006 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü deneme alanında farklı ethephon dozlarının Tritikale çeşitlerinin verim ve verim unsurlarına etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Denemede Tatlıcak 97, Karma 2000, Melez 2001 ve Presto tritikale çeşitleri kullanılmış olup, 0,150,300,450 ve 600 g/ha ethephon dozları bitkilere başaklanma döneminde uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada her iki deneme yılına ilişkin sonuçlar ayrı ayrı değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; dört tritikale çeşidine farklı dozlarda ethephon uygulanmasıyla verim ve verim unsurları yönünden önemli farklılıklar saptanmıştır. Tane verimi ve verim unsurları yönünden genellikle 450 g/ha ethephon dozunda en yüksek değerler elde edilmiştir. Ethephon dozunun daha da artması, verim ve verim unsurlarında azalmaya neden olmuştur. Melez 2001 ve Tatlıcak 97 çeşitleri incelenen özellikler yönünden genellikle en yüksek değerlere sahip olmuştur

The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of different medical treatment protocols in osteoporosis. For this purpose 153 postmenopausal women who were diagnosed as osteoporosis were randomly divided into 4 groups and given different medical treatments for 1 year period. Before and after the treatment bone mineral density was measured . Bone mineral density increased in all 4 groups after treatment. But increament in the groups was not statistically different from each other. As a result we concluded that patients choice, side effects and cost must be regarded for drug preference.

Our objective was to investigate the association between the bone mineral density and risk factors predisposing to osteoporosis as well as impact of regional factors on bone mineral density by comparing the data obtained from patients who lived in Gaziantep (a province in the south east of this country) and Trabzon (a province in the north east of this country). Included in the study were 318 patients, of whom 162 were from Gaziantep and 156 from Trabzon. Bone mineral density of the patients was measured with DEXA, and those who had a t score below (-2.0) SD on bone mineral density measurement in the back and hip regions were included in the study. An osteoporosis follow up questionnaire that was modified from MEDOS study questionnaire was filled. The patients who lived in Gaziantep were fatter than those who lived in Trabzon (p0.05). The bone mineral density (L2-4 femur (total) and Wards triangle) of the patients who lived in Trabzon was significantly lower than in Gaziantep (p0.05). The present study assesses the sites and the corresponding artefacts that were recently discovered during cultural inventory studies in the Urfa region in south-eastern Turkey. The studies were conducted at PPN sites located at Herzo Tepe, Basaran Höyük and Kocanizam, Taslı Tepe and ̇Inanlı Tepe within the borders of Viransehir and Siverek boroughs; the already known site at Sefer Tepe is also re-examined. The sites extend in a north-south direction and were founded within a 3–5km distance, and they exhibit unique characteristics for this region. Recently discovered sites are compared to already known PPN sites in the region to reveal similar features and characteristics. In particular, the article elaborates similarities and discrepancies between sites with T-shaped pillars and sites with circular structures. The recently discovered sites demonstrate that the pillar tradition is predominant in the region and that the settlements have a distinct layout.

Bezostaja 1 ekmeklik bu ğday çeş idinin kullan ı ld ığı çalışmada herbisit olarak kullan ı lan 2,4 D Isopropopylester bitkilerin üç yaprakl ı olduğ u dönem, kardeşlenme sonu ve ba şaklanma ba ş lang ı cı olmak üzere üç farkl ı yetiş me döneminde 150 cc./da dozunda uygulanm ışt ı r. Herbisitle birlikte 0,4 ve 8 kg/da saf N dozlar ı da uygulanm ış t ı r. Bu çahşma, makarnalık buğdayda farklı herbişit ve azotlu gübre dozların|n tane protein oranına etkilerini belir|emek amacıyla 1994-1996 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Kenan Evre4 Araştırma ve Uygulama Çiftliği'nde yürütülmüştüı. Materyal olarak Çakmak 79 makarnalık buğday çeşidi kullanılmış, herbisit uygulamalan olarak (2,4 D lsopropopylester) 0,125,155 ve 185 cdda dozları, azot uygulamaİarı oİarak da 0,5 ve 10 kg/da saf N dozları uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, tane protein oranı bakımından artan azot ve herbisit miktarlarına bağh olarak istatistiki yönden önemli artışlar gözlenmiştir. En yüksek tang protein oranı değerleri, her iki yılda da farklı azot ve herbisit uygulamalarından elde edilmesine kaçın; genellikle yuksek dozdaki azotlu gübre ile birlikte uygulanan yükşek herbisit dozlarından elde edi|miştir.

Kunduru 1149, Çakmak 79, Kızıltan’ 91 ve Çeşit 1252 makarnalık buğday çeşitlerinin kullanıldığı çalışmada 0, 200 400 ve 600 g/ha ethephon dozları karınlanma döneminde uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; dört makarnalık buğday çeşidine farklı dozlarda ethephon uygulanmasıyla tane verimi ve protein verimi yönünden önemli farklılıklar saptanmıştır. Tane protein oranı yönünden ethephon uygulamaları arasında istatistik! farklılıklar gözlenmemiştir. En yüksek tane verimi 600 g/ha ethephon dozunda ve Kunduru 1149 çeşidinde gözlenmiştir. En yüksek protein verimi ise genellikle 400 g/ha ile 600 g/ha ethephon dozlarında ve Kunduru 1149 çeşidinde saptanmıştır.

Abstract Type 1 polyketides are a major class of natural products used as antiviral, antibiotic, antifungal, antiparasitic, immunosuppressive, and antitumor drugs. Analysis of public microbial genomes leads to the discovery of over sixty thousand type 1 polyketide gene clusters. However, the molecular products of only about a hundred of these clusters are characterized, leaving most metabolites unknown. Characterizing polyketides relies on bioactivity-guided purification, which is expensive and time-consuming. To address this, we present Seq2PKS, a machine learning algorithm that predicts chemical structures derived from Type 1 polyketide synthases. Seq2PKS predicts numerous putative structures for each gene cluster to enhance accuracy. The correct structure is identified using a variable mass spectral database search. Benchmarks show that Seq2PKS outperforms existing methods. Applying Seq2PKS to Actinobacteria datasets, we discover biosynthetic gene clusters for monazomycin, oasomycin A, and 2-aminobenzamide-actiphenol.
