As the volume of spatial data has rapidly increased over the last several decades, there is a growing concern about missing and incomplete observations that may result in biased conclusions. Several recent studies have reported that machine learning techniques can more efficiently address this limitation in emerging data sets than conventional interpolation approaches, such as inverse distance weighting and kriging. However, most existing studies focus on data from environmental sciences; so, further evaluations are required to assess their strengths and limitations for socioeconomic data, such as house price data. In this study, we conducted a comparative analysis of four commonly used methods: neural networks, random forests, inverse distance weighting, and kriging. We applied these methods to the real estate transaction data of Seoul, South Korea, and demonstrated how the values of the houses at which no transactions are recorded could be predicted. Our empirical analysis suggested that the neural networks and random forests can provide a more accurate estimation than the interpolation counterparts. Of the two machine learning techniques, the results from a random forest model were slightly better than those from a neural network model. However, the neural network appeared to be more sensitive to the amount of training data, implying that it has the potential to outperform the other methods when there are sufficient data available for training.

A “hip place” (a shop, neighborhood, communal outdoor space, district, etc.) offers something unique, lively, and attractive to people. Business areas that are considered hip places often gain popularity through social network services, especially among young people. However, the recent decline of “hip” businesses has led to increased closure rates for small businesses and increased social costs individually and nationally. The purpose of the study was to clarify the characteristics that allow for the sustainability of hip businesses and the surrounding areas. This study analyzed location properties, SNS usage, and other “hip-place” characteristics that influence visitor satisfaction and explored the implications. A survey was directly conducted among millennials aged 20–39 years in the popular Eulji-ro 3 and 4 districts of Seoul, Korea, a place to gain popularity as a new “hip place”. This study focused on a comparison of factors influencing visitor satisfaction between users and non-users of Instagram and how Instagram usage behavior and location characteristics affect visitors’ “hip-place” satisfaction. Ordinal logistic regression was conducted; overall satisfaction was the dependent variable, and the location characteristics and Instagram usage behavior were independent variables. The results showed a difference in the satisfaction factors between Instagram users and non-users among hip-place visitors. Customer satisfaction included walking safety, cultural event experience, preference for a new place, quality, service, atmosphere, photo conformity, and uploading frequency. The results provide empirical evidence and implications for the management of future commercial areas and businesses considered as “hip places”.

The designation parking-only building (POB)was first introduced in the Parking Lot Act on 14 December 1991. According to the law, POBs can be used for purposes other than parking facilities, that is, non-parking facilities (NPFs), up to 70% of the total floor area. In addition, the POB is an infrastructure in accordance with the National Land Planning and Utilization Act. Excessive introduction of NPFs in a POB weakens the public nature of the building and creates additional demand for parking due to NPFs, thus changing the original meaning of a parking lot. However, on the other hand, NPFs in POBs have a positive aspect in that they contribute to the realization of a compressed city through mixed-use development and increased user convenience. This study investigated and analyzed the usage status of NPFs for POBs in 31 cities in Gyeonggi-do, Korea. In addition, the amount of traffic generated by NPFs was defined as the traffic inducement rate (TIR) and policy implications were presented by analyzing the influencing factors. The ratio of NPFs in POBs was 20% on average, but 3% in public parking lots, and 24% in private parking lots. Most of the NPFs used were for-profit facilities such as neighborhood living facilities and sales facilities. As a result of analyzing the factors affecting the TIR, it was analyzed that the larger the total floor area of a POB, the higher the private ownership, the smaller the number of parking spaces; and the larger the entrance road width, the greater the TIR. In order to prevent excessive change in the use of POBs, the ratio limit of NPFs will be gradually lowered in proportion to the total floor area and public parking lots will be expanded. In the planning stage, meticulous district-wide planning is required for the use and ratio of NPFs in POBs according to the access road type. This article will be meaningful if you want to supply a POB that satisfies suppliers, consumers, and users. In particular, it will enable government officials who decide and implement policies related to POBs to recognize that full-scale research is necessary.

The casino-based integrated resort (IR), which started in Las Vegas in the United States, has moved to Asia and successfully opened Macau&rsquo, s IR and Singapore&rsquo, s Marina Bay Sands. As of 2019, three IRs, Inspire, Paradise City, and Midan City, are being constructed in Yeongjongdo Island and, among them, Paradise City is currently in operation after completing its first stage of development. Although the planned creation of three integrated resorts on Yeongjongdo Island was accompanied by the government&rsquo, s policy support and legal support, the support of the local residents for the IR development projects can have a different effect from that of other areas. For the development of integrated resorts, not only the policy and legal support but also the local support is an important factor. So, this study was conducted focusing on which part of the integrated resort development project should be considered important to get sufficient local support. The results of this study showed that the resort operators and local residents have different opinions on the importance of local support factors. The so-called integrated resort experts considered the environmental and socio-cultural factors important, while the local residents considered factors such as the establishment and completion of the development plan as well as the sustainability as the most important factors. It is expected that this study will contribute to the formation of trust in the relevant policies by disclosing the contents of the implementation and system improvement of IR development projects and providing participation opportunities for residents in the process. This study will be also able to provide objective guidance in decision-making to policymakers who plan the development of such integrated resorts by identifying the factors important to elicit support from the local residents in advance, as well as to public or private developers who want to proceed with IR development projects.

Currently, Cambodia does not have sustainable city indicators, and green and clean city indicators are also limited compared to UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11) indicators. Therefore, this research aims to develop sustainable city indicators for Cambodia and to address the questions &ldquo, Are the green and clean city indicators limited in terms of sustainability?&rdquo, and &ldquo, Are the UN SDG 11 indicators suitable for Cambodia?&rdquo, Delphi processes of panel surveys were conducted to develop the indicators in Round 1, pre-validate the indicators in Round 2, and validate the indicators in Round 3. The results showed that 69 initial indicators were obtained from Round 1, 41 pre-validated indicators were obtained from Round 2, and finally, 32 validated indicators were obtained from Round 3. All of the 32 indicators reached consensus. Based on the consensus indicators, the green and clean city indicators were found to be limited in terms of sustainability, and the UN SDG 11 has nine indicators suitable for Cambodia. These findings could be useful for applying the UN SDG 11 indicators to Cambodia and transforming the green and clean city indicators to sustainable city indicators. The 32 consensus indicators could be used as alternative sustainable city indicators for Cambodia.

Previous studies on the walking environment of elementary school students have focused on physical factors such as traffic accidents, safety, and the neighborhood environment. However, scholars have yet to consider the behavioral characteristics of elementary school students, particularly in respect to the relationship between environmental factors and behavioral characteristics in pedestrian route selection and safety. Addressing this gap, this study identifies how neighborhood environment factors and behavioral characteristics impact route selection and satisfaction among elementary school students. Accordingly, this study surveyed 251 elementary school students at three elementary schools in Korea and analyzed the spatial forms of the selected sites. In doing so, this study discerns students’ satisfaction with their selection of the shortest or non-shortest route and which environmental factors and behavioral characteristics influenced their selection and satisfaction. Study results have practical implications for policymaking, including valuable insights into the planning of school routes for elementary school students.

However, because the procedure for implementation of the right of claim for the sale is not clear, conflict between stakeholders is caused and it causes extension of period. Therefore, after examining judgments and references of judicial power for administrative litigation of the Right of Claim for the sale, by researching stakeholders of the housing rebuilding project and based on the results, finding out differences of stakeholders` recognition according to their position and problems of exercising procedure of the Right of Claim for the sale, and by presenting improvement plans of the system of the Right of Claim for the sale, contributing the success of the housing rebuilding project is the purpose of it.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the distribution of the building area and find the characteristics of development density where the areas to perform special functions as residential, commercial, and business area in Seoul. As a result of classification of the regions with the component ratio of building area ratio by types, the greater part of Seoul is residential areas and only a small part of Seoul have business function. Contrary to the Kang-Nam business districts, the central business districts have few or no houses. It is concerned that the redevelopment projects, such as New-Town, make Seoul more high- density. The industrial area lost the attractiveness as a resident in spite of businesses or infrastructures. So the industrial area will be the best place for reduce journey-to-work distance if improve housing conditions. As well as management of density, management of use is also required for effective landuse and green-growth city.

Pharmacopuncture, or herbal acupuncture, is a new form of therapy derived from combinations of two traditional therapeutic methods, herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy. To compare the efficacy between dexamethasone-pharmacopuncture (DP) and dexamethasone-oral administration (DO), the effect of DP was investigated in murine models. Anti-anaphylactic effects of dexamethasone treatments were investigated in compound 48/80-induced systemic anaphylactic reaction, ear swelling response, and passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA). DP treatment significantly inhibited the compound 48/80-induced systemic anaphylactic reaction, ear swelling response, and PCA. The effects between DP and DO were on a similar level. These results indicate that DP can be used as an alternative method for DO in case of emergency.
