Thesis "Teacher assistant competences" responds to growing number of teacher assistants in educational system and reflects still remaining ambiguities in delineating requirements on assistants' services and activities. The objective of thesis is on the basis of empirical findings define the basic competences of teacher assistant working in a regular basic school. In its theoretical part thesis works with legislative norms specifying the role of teacher assistant and with findings of relevant researches. The explorative part of thesis is based on qualitatively orientated methodology and processes data from eighty interviews realized with assistants, teachers, principals and pupils with special educational needs from twenty basic mainstream schools. Data in research were processed by classification, coding and schematization with using the form of framework analysis. Currently, we are living in a time period that is full of changes in regards to our educational needs. These changes have caused increased societal demands on individuals, yet they hold out the possibility of success through continual learning and development. Globalization, the transition from an industrial economy to a knowledge economy, the exponential growth of information technology to bring together different social groups across society, and other factors are behind the important changes happening in our contemporary society. In so called knowledge society it is important to put individual at the center of the lifelong learning process and meet the individuals' need for further education in relation to individual demand. All this does not only put pressure on the education system but also on society and the business world. Business must create conditions and frameworks to accommodate their employees' 'growing skills and competence, and they must exploit the potential their employees bring with them. All this is reason why we don't talk about lifelong education but about lifelong learning. Title of work: Professional orientation of pupils of practical basic schools. Aims: The aim of this master's thesis is to find out professional orientation of pupils of practical basic school, and factors that influence pupils' choice of career (a pupil, a school, parents) as well as to find out what school do pupils of a practical basic school prefer in the choice of career. Method: To elaborate this work, quantitative and qualitative methods were used, analyse of school institution, analyse of documents, observation and structured questionnaire and talks. Results: The research results show that the biggest influence for pupils' decision about their future profession have their parents, then school and just at very few cases it is up to pupils themselves. The research also shows that the most frequent school which pupils choose is apprenticeship school with branch of a cook-waiter. We are living in a society, which is known like the society of knowledge. The pressure of this turbulent age compels us to all the time learning and developing. About a fact, that the state considers the adult education to be more and more important shows an increasing interest in education policy and also the involvement of the state in the education program presented by international organizations. The adult education becomes to be known like the part of lifelong learning. Still more the people in our society would like to learn and develop self and thereby they are creating the space for developing the other subsystem of the education system - adult education. Lot of us meets the further education during the career when we finished the school. The organizations know, that the investment in knowledge can guarantee the lead before the competition. The learning organization is an ideal model of the education in a company. It is economic and effective model of the education. The concept of the learning organization prefers active learning of the new piece of knowledge before the earlier primary but more passive process - learning by teaching.

The thesis deals with a phenomenon of bibliotherapy and a possible use of this art therapy in special education, above all with accent to work with physically handicapped clients. First part describes theory and history of bibliotherapy, second part is focused on a relationship between bibliotherapy and psychology of person with disability, including possibilities of using bibliotherapy in the area of special education. Third part deals with therapeutic literature in relation to physical handicaps and investigates the extent of applying bibliotherapy in organisations for physically handicapped people. This bachelor thesis is focused on performing in a band The Tap Tap and its value in the life of a person with a physical disability. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the definition of physical disability. It describes basic terminology, and division of movement disorders and introduces social-psychological aspects of the physical disability. The second chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the social inclusion of people with a physical disability. It describes models of approaches to people with disability, and the impact of physical disability on family, partnership, sexuality, and employment. The diploma thesis deals with challenging behaviour in pupils with intellectual disability and autism. The aim of the thesis is to map the current reality of education of these pupils through the statements of pedagogical staff from pre-schools and elementary schools established in accordance with section 16, paragraph 9 of the Education Act. The occurrence, frequency, intensity and specific manifestations of challenging behaviour are examined, as well as the underlying causes influencing challenging behaviour, prevention and preventative approaches, solutions to the occurrence and escalation. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive overview of the problem and challenging behaviour in our country and in the Anglo-Saxon world and it deals with approaches to challenging behaviour. It also focuses on autism, neurodiversity and intellectual disability. The research part defines the aim of the thesis, research questions and methodology. This diploma thesis deals with work methods that are used in the education of pupils with intellectual disabilities. The aim of the thesis is to find out how teachers work with pupils with intellectual disabilities in special primary schools in the Zlín region. In the mentioned theoretical starting points, intellectual disability is first defined, the educational process and its specifics in the special primary school is mentioned, as well as the work methods that are used in the education of pupils in the special primary school. Information for the qualitative research was obtained using semi-structured interviews, conducted with twelve special education teachers. The obtained data were analyzed using a grounded theory design and open coding technique. The research revealed that special education teachers use a huge number of different teaching aids. They don't use textbooks much, and if they do, then those from Parta, Septima, Taktik and Nová škola publishing houses. In special primary schools in the Zlín region, they have a Snoezelen room, perform Basal Stimulation and some also provide individual speech therapy. The topic of this thesis is the causes of non-completion of secondary school studies of socially disadvantaged students. The focus is on mapping the causes of three major areas that contribute to the dropout of female students with social disadvantages, namely school, family and leisure time. The thesis is devided in five main chapters, of which the first two chapters are theoretical, while the following chapters are devoted to the empirical part. The first chapter focuses on secondary education and selected specifics of adolescence. This chapter describes the adolescence period, secondary education and subsequently academic failure. The second chapter is devoted to the specificities of education of pupils with social disadvantages, focusing on the causes and problem areas of social exclusion and on systemic support for pupils with social disadvantages. The diploma thesis is focused on the personality of a teacher's aide at an elementary school for pupils with physical disabilities. In the theoretical part, the history of the profession, the personal and qualification requirements of the teacher's aide, and their job description are given. Furthermore, the theoretical part is devoted to mental hygiene, burnout syndrome, and the last part is focused on personality typologies. In the practical part, the author finds out with the help of mixed research what kind of personalities we meet in the position of teacher's aide at the elementary school for pupils with physical disabilities, in what way this profession affects their personal life and how they take care of their health due to the demanding nature of the profession. This thesis focuses on the issue of support strategies used for socially disadvantaged Romani pupils in a selected primary school. In the theoretical part, it defines the basic concept of social disadvantage, the term socially disadvantaged pupil, and the reasons for educational failure due to social disadvantage. It introduces the fundamental manifestations of social disadvantage and the barriers it creates in the educational process. The thesis further specifies the issue of the Romani ethnicity, provides a brief history of the Roma people, describes the specifics of Romani families, the upbringing of children, and the position of individual family members. It then addresses the issue of Roma education and the support system. This thesis focuses on the issue of intercommunucation between medical personnel and persons with mental disabilities. The aim is to explore various communication approaches and attitudes of medical personnel towards mentally disabled patients, especially during medical examinations, via qualitative research. The literary overview section describes theoretical starting points with emphasis on mentally disabled persons' communication, as well as levels of professionality in relationships towards them. The empirical section deals with research, conducted in a form of seventeen interviews with six mentally disabled participants, five medical personnel and six social workers, who accompany their clients for medical appointments. The findings were processed by using a method of thematic analysis. It concludes, that despite improvements in approaches and attitudes of medics towards mental patients, discrimination is still prevalent, especially in cases of hospitalization and new registration with doctors. The research also shows, that approximately half of medical personnel patronise their adult patients with mental disabilities and puts them into juvenile role. This diploma thesis deals with the relationship to reading in people with Asperger's syndrome. The aim of the thesis is to find out what the individual reading experiences of selected people with Asperger's syndrome are. The research focuses on their reading interests, experiencing of a literary story and motivation to read. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes autism, the autism triad, the psychological theory of autism, and Asperger's syndrome. Reading, functions of literature, reading interests and reading of people on the autism spectrum are also described. The practical part of the thesis is based on semi-structured interviews with ten adults with Asperger's syndrome, who are presented through case studies. Interviews are analysed using open coding. The research found that the respondents read books of various genres, fiction and non-fiction. They form different relationships with literary characters, they also experience the story emotionally. They appreciate the interesting plot of the book, the unusualness or the depicted atmosphere. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of education of the prisoners serving their term in the Vinařice prison. The theoretical part focuses on a brief introduction into the issue of imprisonment in the Czech Republic and penitentiary education in relation to the education of prisoners. It describes the educational and employment possibilities for those serving their term, where it presents current possibilities of education and employment of prisoners and their chances on the job market. The thesis then focuses on the description of the Vinařice prison, their work with prisoners, the sections for prisoners inside the prison and their educational and employment possibilities for prisoners. Following this the thesis describes the activity of the vocational school that operates in the Vinařice prison. The main topic of this thesis concentrates on the adolescents' leaving process from foster families in our Czech territory. The aim of the presented thesis is a deeper exploration of the leaving process preparation from foster families and circumstances connected with it. The theoretical part of this thesis is divided into three chapters. The first of them deals with the adolescence period with its developmental specifics. The second one describes foster care and its partition in the Czech legislative system. The same one also presents available Czech and foreign research. The last chapter focuses on the two topics: the leaving process of adolescents from foster care from a legislative point of view and how it names participants who contribute to this leaving process. At last, it shows some useful Czech social care services for adults. The aim of the thesis is to identify the stressors experienced by the students, the strategies that helped the students to regulate stress and the ways in which the students' self-regulation was promoted by the teaching staff. This diploma thesis on the topic Benefits and risks of home sharing in the care of children with autism spectrum disorders is focused on children with autism spectrum disorders, their families and especially on the new home sharing service. This is a form of relaxation stay, which regularly takes place in the household of the so-called host. The work is divided into two parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part summarizes the existing historical facts from the description of autism spectrum disorders by Leo Kanner and Hans Aspergerm. It also presents current knowledge in the field of aetiology, diagnostics and classification options. The third chapter is devoted to a family and a child with ASD. The last chapter of the theoretical part presents shared care home sharing.
